LMFAOOOOO this season is even worse than I thought it would be

Good things about this episode:
This episode captures the theme of the novels - no one is 100% good or evil. The good guys can turn bad, kill, and the bad guys can be afraid and vulnerable. We are all capable of either based on our experiences.
For me, Cersei is one of the most complex and memorable characters of all time and I liked the way she died. No one gets her and no one deserves to. I felt her and Jaime dying in each others' arms to be very satisfying. They came into the world together, were an incestuous couple and went out together. I don't think Jaime's arc was ruined as so many claim. He was never a good character - yes, he grown along the way, but at the end of the day he was always loyal to Cersei. I thought his arc ended the only way it could have: doomed to love her. I can understand why some people would dislike it but it was a very fitting end for him.
“She is not eating.” - Sneaky Varys was trying to poison the queen. I'm a little disappointed with his death but at least he advanced the Daenerys madness plot.
Dany going mad makes sense since they have been foreshadowing it for a few seasons. It has been shown before she’s impulsive and irrational, and once she crossed over to Westeros her entire focus was to take the Iron Throne but now that the word is out thanks to Varys, she has lost everything because she knows people would choose Jon.
Tyrion telling Jamie that he was the only one that never treated him like a monster was heartbreaking.
The cinematography and music were absolutely perfect.
Bad things about this episode:
How does Danaerys fail so hard with three dragons, but succeed so easily with only one dragon? Last episode a dragon was killed so easily, this episode one dragon did all that without dying.
Did not expect Cersei’s defeat to be so simple. No strategy or no back up plans. She legitimately only had 10 lines this season, all she did was to stare out of her balcony.
Euron is one of the worst written character in television history. Him talking directly to camera, “I am the one who killed Jaime Lannister” was so cheesy. And his fight with Jaime was pointless. How come he magically washed ashore at the exact location where Jamie was?
Arya's plot armor is getting ridiculous.
How are all these dorathki and unsullied still alive?
All in all, this episode was about Dany’s descend into madness and Cersei's death, so it was a predictable one as I expected it.

They don’t deserve to work ever again, writing scripts, maybe adapt or transcribe for another author but not write, no pacing. No semblance of time, distance, size, logistics. There are so many problems with this season that its easier to list what was good this season instead of all the “turrrble” ones.

The stuff with Tyrion and Jaime, and the Arya scenes were the best things about this episode. I liked how they focused a lot on the peasants and people who were suffering in battle.
I had always thought that Daenerys would go mad. It has been hinted at since the early seasons, the problem here is just that it feels rushed. She had essentially gone from 1-5 on the madness scale throughout the first 7 seasons, then within a couple of episodes she shot up to 10/10 on the madness scale. It was too sudden and felt forced.
Cersei and Jaime’s deaths were predictable, and I felt that they were lacking.
Overall, the episode wasn’t exactly terrible, but it was disappointing, much like the rest of the season has been thus far.
the WORST episode um GoT history..I'm honestly gonna pretend season 8 never happened, and remember GoT in their glory and gold era..so for me, the series finale was the season 6 finale..season 8 was a absolute disgrace and I don't want to remember my favorite show in the entire world ending in such a pathetic way with such lazy writing..so, let's just pretend season 8 never happened and this will be good for my sanity.
it feels as if writers are bluffing in our faces trying to pass the 80 minute long fights as "quality content". the show has become an outer shell of what it was, there's barely any depth. the script as it is now feels like an outline that was supposed to be filled in with subplot and details from G.R.R.M. but that never happened. and that's why the fans are crazy
another reason why S8 is exceptionally bad is because there is no more emotional connection to the characters. their motives are unclear, arc endings are unjustified, 8 years of character building are thrown out the window with stupid decisions. the character deaths shown in S8 are fake, they've been dead since the show departed from the books. what we are seeing is bad fan fiction.

I didn't read the leaked script.
First them made Jaime look like he is looking for justice for realm's people. Because we know that he killed mad king to protect to people. Then he says "I don't care about the people". They just killed the "King's Slayer" story.
Arya travels all the way from Winterfell but at the last second she listens to hound and instead of continuing her revenge she says "Nvm fam amma go outside and enjoy the flames"

Decent episode but overall still a disappointment much like the rest of this season. The meeting between Jaime and Cersei was the only nice thing for me here and they just killed them like that. I do not mind a number of characters dying but realistically there should also be a number of redemption arcs before the end. So far it is all dead dead dead dead sigh. What a wasted final season

I don't hate it as much as I hated the last episode, but I don't know. it wasn't as I expected it to be! danny is hands down the worst person ever! and grey worm follows her. The way Jamie and Cersei died was heartbroken and sad and terrible what are they, Romeo and Juliet????? I'm so mad at the way they killed them... like it shouldn't happen this way! they are two legendary characters! don't they at least deserve a "proper" deaths? at least Jaime wasn't killed by Euron! oh my god just imagine that!!!! and Jon...... Jon literary did nothing AGAIN! like absolutely nothing! now I feel like the ending is predictable, people don't want Danny to rule and Jon will be like "I will be the king to protect my people from this mad queen blah blah blah". ugh...

I really liked the story-arch ending in this.
Denny has never been "peaceful". She just thought that she is better then others, but it was always "rightful ruler" this and that, which is just talk of tyrants. Yes, there are people that liked her and they just can't seem to understand that she would end not being good, but evil. They will despise this episode. Denny many time said that she will do whatever needs to be done to be on the Irone Throne and many times said that she will burn the Kings Landing.
What was a letdown for me, was the ease it took her to take everything down (fleet, walls, all defenses). Previous episodes have shown how dangerous those could be and this episode it was just flying here and there like nothing. No effort at all. Either show some clever tactics, or show that there at he end was not so mane scorpions, or that he first dragon kill was just a lucky shot. This was done in too easy way. (I assume from timing point they did not want to show a siege or any struggle, just get to the end.)

There's no fucking emotion, tension or a climax. NOTHING.
What the f*ck was this?!?! I've never been so pissed! Cersei is the one who is insane deviant psychopath, she is the one who's always been murdering innocents and yet they gave her this "heartbreaking" death, like I'm suppose to be sad for that bitch. She deserved much worse faith. And Dany!?! Dany has been nothing but kind, fair and good queen. She helped and saved people, she never ever hurt anyone who didn't deserve it. And now, all of a sudden, in less than 5 minutes they make her do something so out of character just to make her look mad! Why? Just to justify putting Jon on a throne! Because he's a man I guess?!? Jon who, let's face it, is an incapable ruler, he never did anything right and he would be dead a long time ago if it wasn't for other people saving his ass like Sansa, Arya and DANY, but somehow he gets all the credits, praise and promotions! I was rooting 7 season for her just to get this bullshit! F*ck this show and the writers! You managed to make the best show the worst show ever! I don't even care anymore about what happens in the last episode, they probably going to kill Dany so the dumb Jon could become a king. This show is dead to me.
Thankfully this was a much better episode than the last one. Lot of epic scenes and no dragon died, yay! I also expected a different end for Cersei but I'm okay with it. Hard to believe next week will be the series finale...
Awesome episode. The only complaint I'd level against it is that it felt like "Clegane-bowl" jumped the shark. I was never hyped about it in the first place, and it looked like a scene from Highlander with The Mountain played by Golddust from tv wrestling.
Now that was a bellow-par episode for a brilliant show. Not because of the outcome but the development, or the lack thereof.
Jaime's turnaround in the last episode had seemed ambiguous enough that most of us assumed he wasn't going back to be with Cersei, but rather to end her life or at least deal a blow to her cause. Having him simply taking Tyrion's suggestion and running with it was odd.
Daenerys' descent into madness still felt rushed, even if it was expected. I kinda wished they'd spent a few more minutes on that instead of showing the people's plight through Arya. Oh, well.
I was ok with the poor character development when the TV series departed from the books. I used to like thinking it was a kind of alternate universe from the "real" one.
They struggled on TV to show daenerys as a spoiled and selfish girl instead of the woman who was learning to have patience and wielding power in a so goodhearted way it asked a high price from her in the books.
But nothing could justify her acts on this episode. After their utter and final SURRENDER she says "guess what I'm gonna burn them all". Not even aiming to Central tower. Just make an open air barbecue of the city. The breaker of chains, mother of the slaves, making all peasants BURN. There is no plot excuse. 7 years of character building thrown out the window.
This is not the only problem in this episode. Arya is useless but survives inferno and has a magical horse appearing. Cersei dies in the most disappointing way. Euron just happens to swim to the EXACT LOCATION Jamie is.
Frankly I would not be surprised if D&D choose to end it next week explaining that all of it was a westworld simulation experienced by androids. Because the Deus Ex Machina limit has been breached a long time ago, and they keep forcing it.
I don’t know why people are complaining so much about Daenerys, this is her arch in the series, it is said from earler seasons, about her father and other Targaryens being mad. Her madness wasn’t out of nowhere... ahe was loved in the other part of the world and lost that in Westeros, she isn’t respected at all, she fought a war that wasn’t hers against the Night King, she lost half her army, 2 sons/dragons, Sor Johra, Misandei, she was betrayed by her council, Varys and Tyrion, she thought Jon doesn’t love her anymore because he knows he is the rightful heir... what do you people want more?? She simply thinks that she will be respected by “Fire and Blood”, since no one cares about all the good things she has done previously, she saved Westeros from the dead and yet people follow and love Jon. She decided to use her Targaryen power. It’s all her arch has shown us. And this episode brings the same feeling when Ned Stark was killed, people didn’t get it at that time, people got mad... this is Game of Thrones, wake up, breaker of standards. Go read about character archs. I just whish this season got more episodes, so it wouldn’t be so rushed.
Worst episode of the season so far. Like, really. It was all just so pointless.
Dani destroyed all the ships, she destroyed the walls and all the scorpions. Just blast the castle to hell (with Cersei inside of it) and be done with the whole thing.
Why kill all the citizens and burn the whole city to the ground? This was the place you wanted to rule and now there's little more than ruins left. Even the throne most likely melted into a puddle of metal and is buried under a ton of rubble by this point.
Cersei had such a lame death. I expected Joffrey's-death-level satisfaction. I want my money back.
And I can't help but think after seeing so much destruction, so much war, blood and death Arya is finally over fighting. She's done. And she'll be ready to start a new, peaceful and happy chapter of her life maybe even as a married woman.
Also, why even give Jaime a redemption arc at all if in the end he's gonna go back to sucking? Why?

Foreshadowing is not the same as showing a character's arc. After 7 seasons of portraying her as a flawed heroine (even her musical themes played that up) who NEVER harmed innocent children, they needed more than two damn episodes after she saved the North to make it seem earned. [Literally the “signs” of her going mad are echoed in Sansa - Sansa is shown being jealous of Jon getting the acclaim, and being a bit of a party-pooper, and wanting to kill Cersei. But no one accuses her of being mad, because those aren't signs of madness]. You can’t just have a couple of characters worry about it, have her save millions of lives and then just magically make her go mad [In Season 4, Dany locks up her own Dragons because ONE of them scorched ONE child. There is no progression. There is her being a hero and then in the span of an episode she is mad. Hinting that Daernerys will go mad. This isn't the same thing as actually writing her descent to madness. Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon both executed people. They're not considered mad. Jon Snow executed all the guys who tried to kill him. [He turned useless not Madness]. Instead, we got an Unlimited Dragonfire Special Edition... which Dany has already experienced plenty and viewers were never given time to digest...and characters telling us it would happen, but not showing it from Dany's perspective. Like her or hate her, the character and viewers deserved a real transition with clearer motives for her Genocide actions. They went for shock value over clear character development and it was cluster fuck.

Also, Jaimie Lannister didn't get to kill Cersei, so that was a huge letdown. That soft romantic music that started playing when they were down in the Red Keep's basement was so jarring. What the fuck.
What was Arya's point in this episode besides run around King's Landing and be scared? What the fuck.
I mean, so many what-the-fuck's in this episode, I don't even. I guess I should have expected all this when I saw in the opening credits that D&D were the writers for this episode. Even good directing couldn't save it from being a complete letdown. Christ.
This season is one big disappointment after another. Daenerys descent into madness was way too rushed and Jamie deciding last minute that he wants to be with Cersei? The saddest thing is that HBO even offered a 10 episode last season but D&D turned it down because they said they can wrap it up in 6 episodes.

Fuck any of the brainlets who say Dany is acting against character. Remember that part about her being raised by her psychotic brother, or when she walked into a big ass fire expecting to die, or when she threatened to burn down Qarth moments after arriving there while her dragons were still babies, or when she just gave all of slavers bay to a mercenary because she broke up with him, or how she has a savior complex and resents anyone who doesn’t immediately accept her as queen, or how she’s gradually becoming less and less accepting of criticism while being more sure of her “destiny” to rule, or when she killed Sam's family instead of imprisoning/ransoming them or how she continues to try to bang her nephew. Yeah, this came out of nowhere though lmao. She's always had that edge, seems fair that watching her best friend get her head chopped off set her just over. This isn't to say she's completely crazy either, she very well could justify making an example of King's Landing in order to inspire fear in the rest of the Realm. Remember, just because a show doesn't do what you want it to do doesn't make it bad or not make sense.
And Arya is heading to kill the Mad Queen.
The supposedly great battle of King's Landing lasted an entirety of 13 minutes, In which Daenerys destroyed the Iron Fleet (Dubbed the biggest fleet in the iron islands), Destroyed every single scorpion on the wall, breached the gates and the enemy surrendered in 13 minutes. What a god damn joke.
Rushing the ending of Game of Thrones was stupidest choice I've seen since Tumblr banned porn.
The fight between Jamie and Euron was a filler. Completely unecessary and made no sense.
I guess the question in everyone's minds is, why did Dany keep burning everyone even if the bells were ringing. She is crazy and mad just like her father. She seemed like she didn't care even if her ally and lover Jon died as well as his army.

The episode should be titled "character assassination", what a nice way to make 7 seasons of character development pointless with no payoff.
There's a lot I could complain about and most things have already been said here, so I'll just voice my biggest anger - What the hell was the point of Arya and her story? She trained for years to become a faceless super assassin and to assassinate people from her list, already killed many people and was prepared to die. But suddenly it only takes a few nice words from the Hound and she turns around, forgets about Cersei and spends the rest of the episode aimlessly running through the city? What was the point of her, her storylines and her character development? Maybe to kill Dany? Well, my only hope is that she kills Dany with the face of someone else, so her journey has some use at the end.
One of the best directed episodes. One of the worst written episodes. In a vacuum, this episode would be brilliant. In the context of the wider story, this episode is a disaster.
I can't make any more excuses for the writers. I've been patient long enough, and it's obvious that without Martin providing a roadmap for them, they're not remotely up to the task. Just the stupidity when it comes to battle execution along with the undoing of so much character development is enough to show the problems, but it goes so much deeper than that. At least the production values and the acting are still up to snuff, which only serves to further emphasize where the fault lies: with the writers. As things wind down, the show is doing its best to out-LOST LOST.
Consistent is what this season of GOT is: consistently bad. More near instant travel (Dragonstone to Kings Landing), then suddenly where before the first two shots nailed a dragon now none of the crossbows so much as wound the dragon. And how many coincidences can you have: Jamie gets to the bottom of the red keep just as Euron comes ashore, the Hound just happens to be going up the steps just when the Mountain is coming down, Jamie just happens across Cersei as she’s alone in the map room & then later they have enough time for their reconciliation & to hug before the arches collapse one by one. Blatant lazy TV writing at its very worst. Can next week redeem things, nope it’s far to late
If anything, I am grateful for this episode. It doesn’t only provides us with the most stunning shots ever, it also gives us a great great message; Not one of us is purely evil and not one of us is all good. Just like the real world is and most importantly, how George wants his characters to be.
Dany’s Outburst is something true fans saw coming since the show aired back in 2011. Now that the moment is finally here, it’s difficult to see because we love her so much. If anything, i didn’t wanted it either! But it doesn’t weaken her or the show, it shows us Dany is only human and acts on her feelings, no matter how horrific the outcome would be. And for the show’s sake, we can’t all truly believe Dany would have gotten what she always wanted without any bloodshed. It’s plain old sticking your head into the sand. Of course I wanted the same as every one did. But if that would be the outcome of this episode, Game Of Thrones would be like every other predictable show. And let’s face it, the ‘not knowing what will happen’ factor it brings is the reason we all fell in love in the first place.
So, I’m grateful for this and although it saddens me that the end will be near, I will always remember the silver haired young lady who broke the wheel.

You all that are complaining about bad writing and things like that, go take another look at episode S07xE02 at Daenerys and Olenna Tyrell. Was everything in our faces before, foreshadowing. You are welcome. The only problem with this season is less episodes and everything rushed.

I'm surprised that this episode has lower rating than the previous one. Last one was utter garbage but they pleasently surprised about progression in this one (except the Euron scene, which was absolutely pointless and unbeliveable).
The rest of it was the most "got" like episode we had this season. And shot absolutely beautifuly.
Epic! I see people didn't liked this episode. But you have to consider the Show and Books are now on different ways. This is what planned for the show.
Danny being cruel to people is because of her past. She has suffered this all. Betrayal, fear. She have faced it all. And now she lost all of her control.
I agree the characters vanished very quickly. All the development and story went so quick for them.

In a previous episode the other dragon is shot and dies in 6-7 seconds. In this episode we see the dragon dive into hundreds of ships in plain view and in a kill zone and is not shot once? Nothing is consistent here.
And let's not talk about Jamie and Euron. What was that fight for? Why they did it? Jamie gets stabbed twice really bad and survives? It's like nothing matters anymore and I don't buy what they did with Daenerys. We don't even need to watch the next episode. Arya or Jon is going to kill her next and that's it, the end! Where is the fun?
Wah Wah most of you feel betrayed that the egotistical queen of dragons, breaker of chains, and full of bullshit Daenerys was actually mad herself all along. What you also did was ignored foreshadowing, character progression, and sucummed to idolize a character who had flaws you wanted to ignore. It's a mixture of people who missed signals, and book nerds who are upset the story ended a way they didn't approve of that hate this ending. Sorry guys, if you watched this show quickly and without spoilers or theories then this was easy to see coming. Revenge is a powerful motivator and she showed signs of it seasons ago, yall just didn't see the writing on the wall.
Making of a murderer. There are two kinds of populous who watch this show. First, who watch it for the spectacle and politics. Those who are in sync with the latest fan theories. And then there's the other half (maybe even less) who are interested in the characters' development and their arcs. They are the ones who indulge in proper analysis before judging an episode. So no wonder this episode has generated such a negative response. It could have served the former masses like they have for the past few seasons but I'm bloody well glad that they didn't. They threw all fan theories out of the gate and did something that no one expected. They decided to go back to the roots and do something that the OG fans fell in love with. There is no bigger joy than seeing an 8-season arc be paid off so well.
Rags to riches to rags again. This season has been about her losses and failures. Losing her children, best friend and someone who loved her unconditionally were the wheels that drove her to madness. But the final push was her love betraying her. Something that she could never contemplate. Annihilation was the only way out that she could see. This one was a TV version of Carrie.
True Love. Never saw Cersei as a black and white narcissist. So, I totally was fine with her end. Facing death with the only true love of her life while caring about her unborn child. As for Jamie, I don't think he ever loved anyone other than Cersei. He could've comfortably chosen to stay in the north.
I Hope I'm wrong. Varys was in two minds about the queen. But in the end he chose his instinct without considering that it might lead to his demise. He chose the fate of the realm over himself.
Sandor, Thank You. Great moment with The Hound and Arya. Both acknowledging their familial instincts for each other was definitely one of the highlights and looks like it came full circle.
Penultimatum. Calling this the best episode of the season will in no way be fair to other episodes as this one would not be standing if not for the 72 hour experience that was pointing to this. Don't even want to think about the finale right now. Glad that it's a week away since it will take me that much time to digest this one. Hail HBO for not following the Netflix formula

I revisited the series and even now I just don't get how Daenerys turned into that so quickly. It is evident that they needed to build her up more so we could get that madness.
It is hard to say something about this episode, most reviews say that Dany's turn to madness and utter evil was not very well-prepared for in the earlier episodes, though on one hand when Tyrion suggests stopping the attack when the bells are rung, she does not agree to it so she doesn't fall on her promise not to attack when she hears the bells because she hadn't promised that. Later it is just mindless killing for the sake of killing. Maybe the episode doesn't make sense in the wider universe of GoT, but it is a good warning against the cruelty of war, and shows the suffering of common people and soldiers alike quite well. Arya may be too resilient to be realistic, surviving all this, but maybe she got lucky, it happens. Though the scene when she finds the charred body of the woman whom she wanted to help and her daughter is quite moving. The last conversation between Lannister brothers and Cersei and Jaimie's meeting were rather touching too. Jaimie fighting Euron was unrealistic and pointless, though, and I have no idea why the Clegane brothers were fighting since they were bound to perish in the sack of the city anyway. What Dany did in King's Landing brings to mind the events from the WWII when Germans destroyed Warsaw after the uprising.
So, from 20,000 Golden Company warriors, all died at that scene with a dragon, where there was like 100 of them. And magically all 20k are gone aswell? Cool.
Technical aspects great, acting great but the script DAAMN NO.
And that plotwsit at he end? sacrificing a character arc like that?

The rest of the episode made me feel nothing. I saw every part of it coming. While most fans are in denial about Daenerys, this is how I always saw her. None of her actions are out of character.

I'm a reasonable man, I realize I've been crapping on D&D even more than usual this season but I really do have to give them props for doing exactly what they set out to do. They hoped to subvert our expectations and they did just wonderfully in that regards.
We expected all of that buildup over the years to actually amount to something that at the very least passes for a presentable series finale but instead, we got an incoherent, steaming pile of shit. Expectations subverted!
We expected all of that character development to actually result in a beautiful pay-off that respects the journey of self-discovery each and every one of our beloved characters went through to get to where they are now but instead, we got a painful, disrespectful cycle of character regression. Expectations subverted!
We expected the final season of this show to keep us at the edge of our seats with thrilling writing that didn't subvert our expectations for the sake of subverting our expectations via low-quality shock value-seeking writing, but to introduce plot twists that make sense within the overall narrative of the story but instead, we got CW-level predictable, cringe material. Expectations subverted!
I get it. I really do. GRRM let them down by not getting the books ready in time and so they had to improvise away from his influence, but this? This? For a long while, Game of Thrones lived up to the slogan of its parent network, it wasn't just TV, it was something different, something unique and now to have to see it come to this... it's nothing short of disappointing.
On the bright side though, at least this episode didn't suck completely. The acting, score and cinematography were all on point, so I guess it's nice that I didn't walk out of it having appreciated absolutely nothing about it.
So why do I even bother anymore? I honestly could not tell you, though it's probably a mixture of masochism and a faint sliver of hope that they won't flush our collective investment into this series down the drain by the end of it, just one more episode dammit.

I'm seeing some negative reactions in here. Well, I quite liked it tbh. Had me glued to the screen the whole time. Maybe I don't remember the quality of seasons 1-5 or maybe I'm just happy with little, who knows. Everyone seems to hate this season and I have to say I'm not 100% happy with it. BUT. I really liked this episode. Anyway, what can I say.
I have no idea how to rate this episode. It is a technical masterpiece. The imagery of Dany wreaking her terrible vengeance on King's Landing left me awe-struck. "The Bells" doesn't just give us all the amazing CGI wizardry of flaming death reigning from above and masses of bodies hacking one another to bits. It firmly and fully conveys the abject terror that being in that situation would create, anchoring the Saving Private Ryan-esque horror in the reaction of Jon, the efforts to escape by Arya, the mother and child who are the audience inserts and vehicles our sympathies as innocents caught in this maelstrom. There is such an atmosphere, such arresting visuals, and such a sad, frightening mood that Game of Thrones evokes here. You could show this episode to someone who'd never seen the show before and, while it would spoil a hell of a lot, I still think they would get and appreciate the gruesome peak of the show's "war is hell" mentality in a potent and visceral way.
But god help me, the show writes so many characters so poorly, and rushes others, that when you step away from the sheer spectacle and emotion of what you've just seen, it's hard not to just be frustrated. Jaime's eight-season path of growth and development basically goes to pot in twenty minutes of "I just love Cersei", without enough time to grapple with all he'd done and how he'd changed. Cersei crumples in the face of loss and death, in a way that doesn't track with her actions in the Battle of Blackwater. And Tyrion has gone from being smart if a little unduly optimistic to being downright naive about his sister and his queen and pretty much everyone these days. Other characters get a bit of the short shrift in terms of their journeys too, but the Lannisters in particular, who the show spent so much of its narrative juice on over the course of the series, just get butchered in terms of their character arcs here.
I am still awed by the visceral brutality of the Cleganebowl, touched by Tyrion's farewell to his brother and The Hound's last lesson to his accidental student, and I even buy Dany's descent into madness 100%. The final turn happens quickly, but the show has been hinting at Dany's dark side for a long time, and I definitely can accept losing pretty much all the people she loves or cares about it in the span of a week as spurring her to unleash that. Again, the direction, editing, and aesthetics of the Battle of King's Landing is truly masterful, letting you feel the force and fury of Dany's quest for vengeance while rooting it in the lives of the innocent people she's wasting.
But I still just can't get past the sorry destinations "The Bells" had for a number of characters I really cared about on the show. As spectacle, as emotion, and the bloody ascendance of The Mad Queen, the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones wows and more than does its job. But as a vindication and culmination of character arcs the show has been seeding and growing for eight years now, there is so much to be disappointed with her, that it tarnishes the episode's otherwise stunning technical and emotional achievements.
Well Daenerys is nuts apparently, who would 've thought? From father to daughter, 7 seasons was trying to convince us otherwise..
This is one of the greatest episodes of the series.
we knew that the dragon queen was bound to win. but we didn't know how. this episode was another chapter in a great masterfully narrated story.
we saw the true nature of many of the characters return. John snow compelled to save the innocent. Tyron trying to be loyal to his queen but struggling with his own doubt. we see the mother of dragons lust for power and the pain she has had within her unleashed upon the city.
we see the story now coming to a close. we see the wars won. the cost of victory. we see true pain and suffering and now we can begin to understand what the true meaning of " Game of Thrones" really is
My most beloved TV show got destroyed in a matter of minutes. The previous episodes of S08 at least gave me some kind of emotion, this one was a flat line. This truly is a masterpiece, a masterpiece of destruction. They've destroyed everything! The character development, the story, the plot, the meaning of GOT, the writing of G.R.R. Martin. They've destroyed all the hard work put in all of these years, they've spit on everything. I'm not going to hate the show, it gave me so much, and it will continue to be my favorite, but i'm just going to pretend this last season was never made. I'm going to imagine all the possible theories, all the story plots that could have been made, and just hope the writer finishes the series some day.

Nothing makes sense anymore. Logic just went completely out of the window. Character development that has been going on over several seasons just got completely reversed. Actually I am impressed how much a show can be ruined in a couple of episodes.
People are hating on this season and this particular episode because it does not fulfill their wishes. Yes, it is rushed. Yes, there is a lot of plot-holes (see rushed again). The story should be closed in two or three more seasons to keep the slow pace that was introduced to us, but we have this. It is actually what the show has set for, so I am not sure what you were hoping for. Jaime with Brienne? Danny with Jon? Everyone dancing and hugging? It is not a soap opera. Stop complaining just because the show is not ending the way you wanted it to.

Lena Headey was amazing! Honestly, I love all broad strokes, but it was rushed and it is evident. Jaimie's moment with Cersei was so beautiful but shadowed by what happened last episode with Brienne, those seem like two completely disconnected events with missing plot points in story line. I see, that's the problem D&D are facing, they've plot points by GRRM and they are oblivious to how to connect them, sigh!

The only thing I truly critisize on the episode is the pace. It was all rushed. The defenses of Kings landing weren't even used. The whole city that looked so strong before, was just wiped out in minutes. Clearly just a sign that they missed Budget for more episodes.
Also Qyburn could have resurrected the dragon shot by the Iron Fleet, would have balanced the Battle a little.
Well, very extreme, but well done. Daenerys got crazy, like her father. At the end, this series is about power, losing it, and the effects of that.
I'm very fan of the books, they are miles away better than this series plot, but I, and many others here, I guess, wanna see what will happen with all this craziness haha.

Someone needs to explain to D&D that foreshadowing does not equal character development. Dany's turn to madness is completely unearned. D&D themselves have previously said that she is brutal, but not mad. Her brutality has been targeted only at her enemies until now and for every chilling moment there are much more where Dany has been kind and compassionate. Her suddenly deciding to commit mass murder of innocents makes no sense whatsoever.
It seems perfectly reasonable to me that they didn't manage to kill Drogon - firstly, he's the strongest of the three because he wasn't chained up in a basement during a crucial growth period, and secondly the other two were both killed in surprise attacks.
But really, why am I even justifying minor details in a show that makes a character who has never shown any interest in killing for killing's sake, who has in fact gone out of her way to help the downtrodden masses again and again, who has shown brutality against her enemies, yes, but never gratuitous and senseless cruelty, suddenly raze an entire city after it has surrendered? Destroy the Red Keep, even if it meant killing the people seeking shelter inside just to get Cersei? Yes, that might have been in line with the grief and anger caused by recent losses and betrayals. But why have a character be morally grey, complex and containing multitudes when you can just make them an evil madwoman? If this is really the ending GRRM wanted for his story, shame on him. How predictable, boring and utterly disappointing.
I am not saying that every aspect of this Episode was good. The Writing has really been not that great this Season....BUT seriously thou, everyone who thinks that Daenerys was out of Character was blind trough the whole last Season. She always had this tiny bit of Madness, it just finally took over. She killed the Tarlys, she never had any Mercy for her Enemies. Also, the Vision. I never understood how Fans still where cheering for Dany.
