Ryan can't stop thinking about Maisie and jumps at the chance of going Home Farm with Katie.

At Home Farm, Natasha takes down the Christmas decorations. Nathan cryptically questions Maisie about the status of Ryan and Katie's relationship.

Adam isn't happy that Holly is throwing herself at Aaron although he cheers up slightly when Holly mentions Scarlett fancies him. Doug watches as Ashley heads into the church, closely followed by Sally.

Aaron is hungover after his birthday drinks the night before. Sally invites Ashley for lunch but he states the idea is a non-starter leaving Sally disappointed.

Paddy enquires about Aaron's date last night and awkwardly broaches the subject of using contraception.

A horrified Ashley can't believe Sally kissed him. He tells her she's got it all wrong but Sally believes everything has been leading towards her and Ashley giving their relationship a second chance.

Ashley bumps into Sally and Edna in Main Street. When Sally rushes off, Edna quizzes Ashley about what's happened between the pair.

Mark is in turmoil as he watches as his family go about their usual morning business. As Adam drops Hannah off at the bus stop, Victoria and Hannah tease him about Scarlett as well as his theory that Aaron is gay.

Natasha inquires what Mark is up to today. He tells her he isn't sure. There's friction at the farm between Adam and Holly due to Adam's theory that Aaron is gay. John orders Adam to drop it as he can no longer stand the atmosphere. Katie fills Natasha in on the breakdown of her relationship with Ryan.

Natasha demands an expiation. She asks Faye how long she's been sleeping with her husband. Mark claims today was the first time they've kissed but Natasha knows he's lying.

An angry Ryan questions why Faye would tell him his dad is dead. He is further shocked when Natasha reveals Mark is still married to Faye and therefor a bigamist. Ryan questions why nobody thought to tell them. Mark apologises which infuriates Maisie.

Mark doesn't believe his family has the right to judge him. He protests he's not a bad man as he didn't run away from Faye - he was running from himself.

In the pitch black, Natasha digs a shallow grave for Mark's body in the middle of the woods. Afterward, she burns her coat. Faye leaves Ryan yet another voicemail begging her son to text her to let her know he's safe.

Gossip hungry Viv instructs Bob to call her when Maisie arrives at work although Bob doubts Maisie will turn up. Debbie discovers Ryan has slept in his car on the garage forecourt.

Leyla suggests Ryan and David could talk about finding their dads much to David's annoyance. There's an atmosphere over breakfast at Home Farm. Natasha snaps at Will when he asks when Mark will be back.

A lifeless Sally lays in the middle of the road with Ashley standing over her. Paddy arrives on the scene and calls an ambulance. In the village, David and Leyla hand out flyers for The Grange restaurant's opening night. Doug and Sandy arrive on the scene as Sally is put into the back of the ambulance.

Ashley's furious when Edna questions whether there's any truth in Sally's allegation that they were sleeping together. Meanwhile, Diane's concerned when she overhears the villagers gossiping about him in the pub.

Jimmy finally bursts into the church wearing grimy overalls covered in oil and tells a horrified Nicola, that Carl 's had to stay with the truck. Nicola despairs that with no vicar and no godparent, Angelica's big day is going from bad to worse and takes the drastic decision to call it off.

Carl is surprised when his ex-wife Colleen turns up with Anya and Thomas in tow and announces that Carl needs to look after them for a while. Later, when he returns home with the kids,

Charity's determined to land a job in order to save for the wedding but her luck's out when she returns home from the job centre without one. Meanwhile, Nikhil asks Carl if he can make a delivery for them but after agreeing, he realises that he doesn't have a driver.

Sally returns from hospital to find that Edna's been persuaded by Ashley's version of recent events and becomes angry when Edna questions her allegations.

Ashley's alarmed when Terry reveals that Sally's staying at the B&B. Later, Sally finds Ashley praying in the church and he's utterly frustrated that she's clearly not taking his warnings seriously.

Natasha comforts Will as he struggles to cope with the idea that his father Mark isn't returning home.

Natasha's anxious as the police question her about Mark but reveals that she'd be happy if she never saw him again. PC Swirling is taken aback by Natasha's cold attitude and she realises that she's going to have to fill them in on Mark's history.

Nathan awkwardly bumps into Ryan who tries to apologise for Faye interfering. Dismissive, Nathan seethes that Faye needs to get over Mark, before going on to admit that Natasha's told Will about him being their brother.

Victoria's brave enough to be Hannah's friend at school and tells Kayleigh to stop giving her a hard time. That night, the Bartons are having dinner at Diane's when Hannah storms out as she's annoyed when Victoria gloats about how fun school is.

Nathan offers to help run the estate while Natasha concentrates on helping Maisie and Will through the tough time. Natasha, however, tells Nathan that the shoots must remain closed, leaving Nathan curious.

Ryan's furious that Faye won't let Mark escape her mind and takes up Katie's offer of sleeping on her sofa. In the pub, an inappropriately dressed Maisie hears the news that Ryan's moving into Victoria Cottage and masks her feelings, before downing a drink.

A hungover Maisie surfaces but she's dismissive when Nathan and Natasha suggest talking about last night. Meanwhile, Katie tells Ryan that he needs to open up about his feelings and her curiosity is satisfied when he claims that he's absolutely fine.

The police ask Natasha to ID the body that they've found, while Ryan's sympathetic when he breaks the news to Faye about the gruesome discovery.

Faye tells Natasha that she's hired a private investigator to look for Mark. Nathan's irritated that Faye went to identify the body with his mother, while Maisie's convinced that her father isn't dead.

Ryan and Katie leave Victoria Cottage and Jamie is doing his rounds. They pass Faye and he blanks her completely. A taxi pulls up and Gennie gets out, Jamie goes to see her.

Carl arrives home with gifts for the children and promises to take them out for the afternoon. Nicola, however, is fuming when she can't find her mascara and when Scarlett's new handbag disappears after lending it to Anya, Carl's suspicious of the kids. Anya later admits to Thomas that she's to blame and has accidentally spilled nail varnish in Scarlett's new handbag.

Thomas and Anya mask their disappointment when Carl tells them that they're going to stay with their aunt for a while. When he drops them off at the bus stop for their first day at school, they don't want to go and suspecting that their dad doesn't care either way - they decide to skive off.

Adam and Scarlett only have eyes for each other and finally give in to their feelings. And Adam hasn't got to worry about John teasing him as John's more concerned with his own business, for a change. And it's not going well, as sheep keep dying.

Katie gently leads Maisie into the backroom at The Woolpack and assures her that everything will be okay. When Natasha arrives, she's horrified to see the state of her daughter. Finding Ryan at the garage, Katie reveals that Maisie's in a bad way but he buries his conflicted feelings and claims that she's not his problem.

When Natasha returns from taking a fragile Maisie to the retreat, Nathan makes it hard for her when Will asks questions as to Maisie's whereabouts.

Paddy informs John that the lamb was killed by a toxic chemical commonly used on farms, forcing Adam to admit he is responsible for poisoning the stream, after he knocked over a barrel containing the toxin weeks previously. Meanwhile, Zak is furious when Shadrach returns and pretends to know nothing about what happened at the house, and Natasha warns Nicola not to gossip about her family.

John surveys the land where the chemicals were spilled, and Adam is horrified that his actions have caused such devastation. Elsewhere, Nathan makes it clear to Maisie that she needs to get over Ryan, a reluctant Zak accepts when Shadrach offers to help rebuild Wishing Well Cottage, and Ashley is delighted when Laurel invites him to spend some time with her and the children.

Katie is devastated when Nathan tells her the truth about Ryan and Maisie. Zak sees a chance to raise some funds for the rebuild and confronts John about poisoning his dog, while Shadrach sources some floorboards, which Zak and Lisa later realise have been stolen from the village pavilion. Elsewhere, David agonises over what to do about the chemical spill.

Nikhil and Jai are furious when they discover that some cabling has been stolen from the factory. Suspecting that the Dingles are somehow involved, the brothers call the police. Later, Lisa, Sam and Olena take Shadrach's van to collect a sofa but panic when a police car flashes at them to pull over.

Following the incident with the police officer, Lisa's devastated as she gives her statement at the station. She's forced to deny all knowledge of the stolen goods. Traumatised by the experience, Lisa returns to the village and Zak blames Olena for it all.

Ashley heads back to the village alone after pleading with Laurel to come home, so Diane and Doug take matters into their own hands and pay Laurel a visit, but as Diane urges her to decide if she wants to fight for her marriage and forgive Ashley, Laurel isn't sure she can. Nikhil is reluctant to get involved in Debbie's business venture, but decides to take her up on the offer after being insulted by Jai. Elsewhere, Shadrach finds himself outcast from his family and the entire village, and Faye talks to Katie about Ryan.

Laurel tells Ashley she is willing to give their marriage another try, and Jai warns Nikhil not to get involved in anything illegal during his new business venture. Elsewhere, Lisa worries about being sent to prison, Ryan confronts Nathan, and David offers Leyla a place to stay.

Laurel moves back into the vicarage with Ashley, but things are still awkward between the pair. Cain returns and is curious about the sat-nav deal between Debbie and Nikhil, Shadrach tells Lisa he will confess to the police, and Holly realises her feelings toward Aaron have cooled.

Jai and Cain team up to teach Nikhil a lesson after he refuses to listen to his brother's advice, while Jimmy catches a downbeat Rodney looking through the lonely hearts column. Laurel tells Ashley to start behaving normally around her, and is grateful when Jai offers her a job on the production line at the factory. Elsewhere, Aaron is annoyed when Holly stands him up, Ryan and Katie feel unhappy about being apart, Leyla suggests she and David start looking for a place together, and Holly gets a free lunch from Viv when she draws a portrait of her.

Cain arranges for the pick-up to be hijacked, unaware that Carl has asked Charity to do the job and is taking Noah with her. Meanwhile, Ashley and Laurel try to save their marriage, Rodney is surprised to get a response to his lonely hearts ad, and Nathan promises to take Will to visit Maisie.

Cain is horrified to discover Charity was driving the truck when it was hijacked, and Nathan's hatred toward Ryan reaches boiling point after he sees him with Will. Elsewhere, Laurel and Ashley start afresh, and Rodney feels awkward as Fiona and Nicola reminisce about their school days.

Ryan reluctantly visits Maisie, unaware that a furious Nathan is waiting for him, and Nikhil is horrified to learn about the robbery. Meanwhile, Laurel returns to work at the factory, Rodney decides he does not want to see Fiona again, and Cain confronts Carl and Jimmy.

Faye tries to talk Nathan round after he starts packing her and Ryan's belongings. As Faye tries to talk him round, Nathan misinterprets her kindness for a come on and grabs her. Faye's terrified as Nathan aggressively pins her to the sofa. At that moment, Ryan walks in and quickly pulls him off her. Full of hatred, Nathan winds Ryan up about Maisie and ultimately coaxes his half-brother into a fight. Charity is shocked when Noah tells her he saw Cain at the scene of the heist before Carl arrived. Elsewhere, Priya decides to quit at the factory after becoming tired of working with her brothers and bored with life in the country.

Natasha returns and is incredulous when Ryan reveals all about Nathan attacking Faye. Concerned, Natasha goes to visit Faye and they share an odd connection as Faye blames Mark for the mess. Natasha assures Faye that Nathan won't be attacking her again, before resolving to put her family on the straight and narrow once and for all.

Natasha turns the tables on Nathan's questioning and demands to know about his attack on Faye. Nathan, however, insists that she explain her recent anxiety, presuming that it has something to do with Mark's disappearance. When Natasha flinches, Nathan promises that he'll support her whatever she's hiding. He's horrified, though, when she whispers that Mark's dead.

Nathan tells Natasha she should come clean about Mark, but the conversation is interrupted when Maisie returns. Elsewhere, Cain refuses to give Charity the sat-nav money until they get married, and Lisa tries to hide her nerves about the forthcoming court case.

Nathan takes Will out causing Natasha to panic. Nicola can't deal with the crowded house. Debbie wants to get away with Andy.

Natasha's preoccupied by Nathan's demands and when he spends the morning in town with Maisie, Natasha's furious. Nathan's torn when Maisie suggests that he should be nicer to their mum but when Natasha gives him one last chance to reconcile, he chooses the money.

Holly wants to get rid of Aaron. Andy and Debbie talk. Gennie is happy about the lottery results.

Aaron's embarrassed when Adam mentions that Holly dumped him in front of Ryan. When Paddy later attempts to console him, he shuts down and decides to get drunk in the pub. However, when Aaron becomes aggressive with Adam, Eli decides to take him for a night out to calm down. In town,

Cain has a plan for the surprise wedding. Aaron hopes he can save his relationship. Maisie and Ryan try to move on.

Charity puts an end to Cain's plans. Natasha is worried about being broke. Thomas and Anya are out for revenge.

Cain eagerly awaits Charity's decision, and Debbie finally musters the courage to tell her parents she is moving to Jersey with Sarah. Ashley is shocked to discover the church flowers have been stolen, leaving Laurel and Edna to question who could have been responsible.

Edna's dog Tootsie goes missing, and she believes Thomas and Anya are responsible, Lisa begins to think about the prospect of not coming home after the court case, while Cain tries to persuade Debbie to stay in the village, but cannot change her mind.

Laurel and Ashley panic when they smell gas in the house and realise that someone has left the stove on. Meanwhile, Sandy can't find his keys and further is frustrated when Ashley implies he was responsible for leaving the gas on. Later, Ashley and Laurel arrange for Doug to babysit while they enjoy an evening at the pub.

Zak worries about Lisa as she faces her day in court and prepares for the possibility she will go to prison. The family is devastated when she's sent down for two months, especially Belle, who feels Zak lied to her. When Shadrach arrives at Wishing Well, expecting a beating, Zak instead disowns him, with Shadrach eventually ending up with Chas. Tempers flare between Nicola and Carl when she tricks Anya into eating meat, while Sally wastes no time causing trouble, beginning by throwing a brick at Diane's car. She then sneaks into the Thomas home and leaves Ashley's name in magnet letters. Rodney lies that he's a lawyer in order to chat up an attractive woman.

Nicola leaves Angelica briefly unattended and panics when she returns to find her baby has vanished. She wastes no time blaming Thomas and Anya as Nikhil arranges a search party. Moments later, Gennie returns Angelica to Nicola, claiming that she found her near the graveyard.

Sally watches from afar as Laurel and Sandy say their goodbyes, before leaving for Devon. Later, a desperate-looking Sally arrives at Mulberry and Ashley reluctantly lets her in. Inside, Sally begs for a chance to repent and as Ashley feels compelled to listen, she starts to confess her sins.

As the night wears on, the effects of the spiked drink begin to appear, making Ashley confused and disoriented. With Ashley nearly unconscious, Sally leads him upstairs and lies him down on his bed as she begins to take her cardigan off. Meanwhile, Jimmy is concerned when Nicola reveals a rota for Mill Cottage to share the living room. It only provokes an argument with Carl and fed up, Nicola storms out. Elsewhere, Rodney’s sorry for lying to Sue – but only after he’s caught out. She discovers he isn’t really a lawyer and walks out. And Paddy is frustrated when Aaron lies about getting into trouble at college.

Ashley wakes up to a noise from downstairs. Regaining consciousness from a long sleep, Ashley's horrified to find Sally in the kitchen and further distressed when she implies that they've slept together. Sickened by her actions and the implications it will have on his marriage, Ashley forcefully orders her to leave.

Aaron's annoyed with Paddy for constantly checking up on him. Full of turmoil, Aaron paces the village alone and finds himself back at the gay bar. Forcing his fears out of his mind, he hurries inside and is awkward when Jackson starts chatting to him.

Chas and Nicola's arguing ends in a food fight, forcing Jimmy and Carl to intervene in a bid to break the pair up, and Paddy is grateful to Jackson when he arrives at the surgery with Aaron's phone, but the youngster is horrified to see them talking and thinks his secret has been revealed. Nikhil is disturbed to see Lizzie working at the factory, but Jai insists it will be good PR.

Paddy's puzzled when a shifty-looking Aaron tells him he's going into Hotten. Offering him a lift, Paddy drops Aaron off and parks up around the corner from where he leaves him. As Paddy watches Aaron hand Jackson his business card, Paddy wrongly assumes that Aaron's dealing drugs. At the Woolpack, a worried Paddy confides in Marlon about his fears for Aaron. Meanwhile, Scarlett forces Jimmy and Carl to resolve their differences.

Paddy is determined to get to the bottom of Aaron's behaviour. Paddy continues to dig deeper and probes Holly for her reasons behind ending her relationship with Aaron. Later, Aaron erupts when he discovers some leaflets on drugs left in his bedroom.

Aaron maintains that he's not dealing drugs, while Paddy continues to interrogate him about Jackson. Aaron eventually snaps with Paddy and demands that he stop asking questions about the pub he went to as he's starting to sound like Adam with all his accusations.

Natasha's furious when Maisie admits that she tried cocaine while she was clubbing the previous night. Natasha can't believe that her daughter's been so careless, considering her fragile mental state. Nicola's intrigued to see that Holly's on edge and points a fact-finding Natasha in her direction.

Paddy's determined to hide his injuries but when Pearl sees him through the door, he lies that he was mugged by a group of lads. Meanwhile, Chas is fraught with worry about Aaron and unable to control her fears, she goes to see Paddy.

Chas is determined to get to the bottom of Aaron's attack on Paddy and quietly calls the police. Paddy manages to convince the police that Aaron wasn't responsible for his injuries but when Aaron returns, they're both confused over who reported him.

Ashley goes into meltdown as he private begins to recall the horror of his ordeal with Sally. When Laurel arrives home, she's desperately concerned by her husband's demeanour and demands that he tell her what's wrong.

Furious at his revelation, Laurel persuades Ashley to tell the police about his encounter with Sally. Adam confronts Aaron about Paddy's injuries, leading to a confession, while Charity is unimpressed when she returns home to find her house in a state. Marlon is pleased to see Rhona back in the village.

As the police begin their inquiries and search the house, Laurel swears revenge on Sally. Charity tries to talk David into hiring a cleaner for her but, desperate for money, ends up taking a last-minute job offer from Carl. Elsewhere, Eli and Olena grow closer, and Charlie tries his luck with Natasha.

Laurel tracks Sally down to a block of flats and confronts her. Sally has put up pictures of Ashley on the wall. Sally insists that Ashley loves her, not Laurel. She also tells her that she is pregnant with Ashley's child and that she was the one who started the church fire in which Laurel was almost killed. A fight then ensues, resulting in Laurel holding Sally over the balcony, telling her she is going to push her off. As Ashley, Doug, and the police then arrive, Laurel then tells Sally that it would make her as bad as she was if she pushed her off, so drags Sally back over the balcony. Ashley and Doug are relieved that Laurel is alright, while Sally is arrested. Edna is shocked when her granddaughter Eve returns to the village, and Cain makes Charity jealous on a lunch date.

Charity persuades Cain to take her to a luxury hotel, where a joyride in a rich man's car gives the pair an idea for a money-making scheme. Ashley is relieved when he discovers Sally has been sectioned, meaning he will not have to face a trial, and Zak is shocked at the lengths to which Sam will go to keep Olena in the country.

Edna finds out that the reason Eve’s marriage is in trouble is because Eve was a bit too hospitable towards her husband's best friend. Edna's not impressed by infidelity and tells Eve she’d better behave while she's living under her roof. As head of the Dingle clan, it falls on Zak’s shoulders to take care of the family, especially Sam, who's not very capable of taking care of himself, so Zak warns off Olena.

Cain and Charity arrange the details for their first car scam at a nearby posh hotel. In their disguises, Charity spots her first target as Cain watches from the corner of the bar.

Adam walks with Aaron, who is on his way to the garage. He asks Aaron out for a lads night, and promises that Scarlett won't be there to interrupt. Aaron agrees, and heads for the garage. He works on a car while Ryan tells him about his decision to move in with Andy.

Paddy goes to Marlon's home at Tall Trees Cottage and knocks on the door. Glancing out the window to see who's at the door, Marlon calls out that he thinks it's best if they leave it until they've both calmed down.

Zak refuses to allow Olena to attend Lisa's homecoming party, and a cash-strapped Natasha offers John and Moira the chance to buy the farm. Marlon tries to hide his disappointment when he discovers Rhona is moving on, and Cain tries to curb Charity's spending spree.

Sam's looking forward to Lisa's homecoming party and excitedly awaits Olena's arrival. Olena, meanwhile, tells Eli about Zak's warning to leave the village and with that, Eli insists that he won't attend the party either. Instead, they plan their getaway.

Lisa's suspicious when Sam is in a bad mood. Natasha admits she can't afford to keep Will at his school anymore. Nicola tells Rodney that the Bishop confirmed her wedding date this morning, for the beginning of June.

Sam's distraught about Olena and Eric comforts him, unaware that he was responsible for the situation. Meanwhile, Terry and Brenda are furious with Eric for knowingly allowing Olena to work at the B&B.

Charity's thrilled when Cain reveals that he's set up another car scam at a local hotel. At the bar in her disguise, Charity eyes up her victim Declan. While he's on the phone, Charity swipes his car keys and promptly makes her excuses.

Aaron happily meets Jackson again and comfortable in each other's company, they begin to enjoy themselves. When Jackson goes to the bar, he gives Aaron a quick kiss. They leave the bar in Hotten and as they stand outside, Aaron doesn't see Adam and Scarlett across the road.

Carl and Chas share a worried look when Colleen arrives asking for a private word. He's horrified when Colleen goes on to reveal that she wants Thomas and Anya to move to Saudi Arabia with her.

Carl pleads with Thomas and Anya to stay with him, which leaves Chas feeling uneasy. Paddy tells Adam that Aaron is gay, but urges him not to disclose the secret, and Natasha asks the Sharmas if they would like to invest in her planned expansion of Home Farm, as her financial problems grow.

Aaron is furious when Paddy informs him about Adam's visit, Thomas and Anya tell Chas they want to live with their mother, and Nikhil persuades Jai to consider Natasha's business proposal. Meanwhile, Nicola asks Scarlett to finish the wedding invitations, and Maisie walks in on Douglas and Diane discussing Natasha's financial difficulties. Aaron finds himself in trouble with the Police when he punches Jackson.

Aaron's in turmoil as he's charged with ABH, while Jackson refuses to listen to his excuses. Chas chastises Aaron for being a homophobic thug but she's shell-shocked when Paddy later reveals the reason behind Aaron's actions.

As the garage fills up with smoke, Aaron drifts out of consciousness. Paddy, meanwhile, tries to reassure a concerned Chas about Aaron's situation and they're grateful when Adam offers to look for him around the village.

As Aaron lies unconscious in hospital, the shockwaves of his suicide bid are still being felt. The villagers wonder why he would want to kill himself and Adam is upset that Aaron felt so desperate and alone. But, as Chas and Paddy sit at Aaron's bedside, Chas is getting angry.

Chas apologises to Paddy for blaming him for Aaron's suicide attempt and they're relieved when Aaron finally begins to regain consciousness. The Dingles rally around for Chas and they're delighted when the doctor reveals that Aaron will be okay.

The one person who can put a (sort of) smile on Aaron’s face is Adam. He goes to see Aaron in hospital, dares to make a joke about his suicide bid and doesn’t get thumped! Chas hopes Adam will get Aaron to open up because he's not prepared to confide in her.

Aaron's out of hospital but not out of the closet – and, sadly for him, not out of Chas's reach. She's determined to be there for her son, whether he likes it or not. What Aaron likes is when Adam comes to visit him at Smithy Cottage; Adam doesn't act like he's walking on eggshells around him.

With the pressure on to pay up his rent, Eli targets the B&B to burgle and when the coast's clear, he breaks in. Meanwhile, Eric has hit the bottle in his hour of need and is in bed upstairs. Downstairs, Eli clumsily causes a racket as he attempts to break into the cash tin.

Eli tries to wake an unconscious Eric but greed gets the better of him and he does a runner with the cashbox instead, leaving a bloodied Eric slumped at the bottom of the stairs.

Sam's affronted when Eric quizzes him over the B&B robbery. He innocently denies being involved, insisting that he received a cash advance from Natasha. However, when Eric approaches Natasha, he's dismayed to hear that she did nothing of the sort. Marlon's exasperated when he realises that Eli took the money.

Natasha's clearly relieved when Maisie admits that she fancies Nikhil, not Declan, while Declan's pleased that he seems to be getting to Natasha. The Wyldes have bigger problems, though, when Nathan returns to the village.

Having finally persuaded Natasha to let him stay, Nathan wastes no time in ensuring that Declan knows who he is and his place in the family. When Will gives Nathan a hero's welcome to his brother, Natasha realises that she has to let him stay.

Laurel is shocked when Nicola takes it upon herself to discipline Cathy, Nathan is made to feel more unwelcome in the village, despite making a sincere apology to Faye, and Eve makes her intentions clear to John. Meanwhile, Gennie and Jamie announce their decision to pursue a new life in Newquay.

Viv finds out it was Nicola who bit Cathy's arm and challenges her at Home Farm - in front of Natasha and Declan. Nathan offers to give his mother all the money back in a bid to gain her trust, Eve continues to flirt with John, while Paddy is concerned that Aaron has resigned himself to going to prison.

Viv refuses to listen to reason and feels triumphant when the police arrest Nicola on suspicion of assaulting a minor. Aaron enjoys being back on familiar territory when he returns to the garage for the first time since his suicide attempt, Declan turns the tables on Nathan, and John struggles to ignore Eve's charms.

Nicola can't help herself when she's rude to a police officer, while Viv ignores Bob's pleas to retract her statement. He's left deflated when she treats him like he's betrayed her. At the police station, Nicola's devastated to learn that she has been charged and could be handed a six-month custodial sentence.

Adam resorts to seeking help from Jackson, asking him to drop the charges against Aaron. John risks getting on the wrong side of Cain when he refuses to pay his garage bill, and Nicola worries about going to prison as she prepares for her wedding. Elsewhere, Diane and Charlie grow closer, much to Doug's displeasure.

Eve wanders into Butlers covered in mud and interrupts Adam and Andy. After she showers, she pulls a top on just as John walks in. Allowing himself a sneaky peek, John continues to flirt, which only encourages her. Later in the Woolpack, Eve's flirting doesn't go unnoticed as she sidles up to John at the bar.

John squares up to Cain after learning he sabotaged his car, while Paddy and Chas implore Aaron to reveal the truth about his sexuality as he prepares for the court hearing. Doug interrupts an intimate moment between Charlie and Diane, and an unrepentant Bob lies to get out of a dinner date with Viv.

Aaron remains adamant about his plea and heads to court alone, but is thrown when Jackson turns up at the hearing. John wrestles with his lust for Eve as she continues to play games, Doug's plan for a night out with Diane ends in disappointment, and David makes a last-ditch attempt to secure a mortgage.

Aaron awaits the verdict in court and stuns his friends and family when he tentatively reveals the reason he attacked Jackson. Diane agrees to have dinner with Charlie, but feels guilty when Doug returns home and finds them together, while Andy notices that John likes Eve more than he is letting on.

Doug warns Charlie to keep away from Diane and prepares a romantic meal for her, where he confesses his true feelings. Aaron is horrified when Chas shows him the newspaper article about his court case, and John allows himself to be drawn in by Eve, telling her all about Holly's problems.

Eve's relentless with her flirting as she turns up to work in skimpy attire. When Eve accidentally cuts herself on the farm, she continues her charm offensive with John and enjoys playing the injured girl act. John suggests that he take her home and she's intrigued when she senses a spark between them.

John admits to Eve that their kiss was a mistake and is relieved when she insists that what happened between them will stay between them. However, when Cain threatens to go to Moira, John reluctantly pays the outstanding garage bill. Moira, however, is bemused when she sees their altercation.

Nathan wastes no time stirring up trouble for Natasha, telling Doug, Leyla and Rodney that she plans to close down the shop. Eve shows no remorse when Moira sacks her as Edna looks on, Bob assures Gennie she is doing the right thing by moving away, and Hannah discovers Holly has been thrown out of college.

Jamie catches Gennie and Bob exchanging a kiss at her going-away party, but their attempt to laugh it off falls flat. Nathan warns Declan that he will never step into Mark's shoes, John finds Moira distant after he moves back in, and Natasha confirms to Rodney, Leyla and Doug that they are losing their jobs.

Bob finds himself out on the street when Viv discovers his betrayal, and Jamie asks Gennie to leave him alone until he has had time to think about their relationship. John comes clean to Hannah and Adam about kissing Eve, Scarlett reluctantly agrees to help Holly out financially, and Eve tries to force a reaction from Moira.

Gennie's offered some hope when Jamie reluctantly agrees to go to Newquay with her to start afresh. Meanwhile, Viv's devastated as she tells Bob that their marriage is over. When Jamie arrives to talk to his dad, he's struck when Viv points out that the situation will always hang over him and Gennie.

John and Moira are more than disappointed when they turn up at Holly's college art exhibition and discover that her artwork isn't on show. Returning home puzzled, Moira and John find Holly and Roz. Holly falls into her parents' trap as she lies that she saw her artwork there that morning.

Viv confronts Gennie about sleeping with Bob. Backed into a corner, Gennie tries to explain that it meant nothing and was a huge mistake that resulted in her losing Jamie. Appalled at Gennie's self pity, Viv slaps her firmly across the face.

As Aaron continues with his community service, he's thrown when Wayne asks him about being gay, relaying that he read about him in the paper. Aaron firmly denies Wayne's suggestion, insisting that he only claimed he was gay in the hope that the judge would issue a lighter sentence.

Aaron's humiliated after falling into the lake but when Gary intervenes, Aaron claims that his fall was an accident as he tripped backwards. Wayne smirks as Aaron's forced to change into dry clothes. Back in the village, Adam's sorry to hear that Aaron's had a rough time at community service but insists that they now have more reason to go out.

Nathan warns Natasha not to get close to Declan. Cain and Declan lock horns over Declan's building work. Aaron is gutted after his run-in with Jackson.

Natasha and Declan embark on a secret affair. John agrees to go easier on Holly. Aaron is unimpressed to discover that Adam put Declan in touch with Jackson.

Holly tries to convince John that she's a reformed character. However, when Rhona visits the farm, John's surprised to discover that a stash of ketamine has disappeared. John immediately presumes that Holly's to blame and she's outraged when he frantically searches her bedroom. Meanwhile, the tension's palpable at Home Farm as Nathan insists on giving Declan a hard time.

As Nicola prepares for the day ahead, she has relented, and allows Jimmy to go with her. Bob turns up, too and when he sees Viv he lets her know he’s there for Nicola, not her. Outside the courtroom, Nicola's unable to hold her nerve and on seeing Viv in the toilets, she offers her a genuine apology.

Natasha caves in to Cain's demands and hands over the cash - something she insists is a one-time deal. Cain, however, knows that there's more where that came from. Back at Home Farm, Natasha begins to crumble, knowing that if Cain doesn't discover her secret, it's only a matter of time before somebody else does. Nathan's worried to see his mother losing her mind and quickly assures her that they can pull through the situation together.

She knew there would be problems ahead but she thought they would at least be able to get off to a good start – and they haven’t. A worried Rodney phones the hospital, but is informed that there are no records of Charlie or his doctor ever being at the hospital. The new landlords of The Woolpack revel in their new status. Meanwhile, Declan tries to win Natasha around when he reveals that he's booked them a holiday. Natasha's unenthused and regrets not being able to confide in him.

As Diane worries, Rodney and Doug head off into Hotten, only to find Charlie's shop had never been used. Meanwhile, Marlon takes it upon himself to help Shadrach enjoy his birthday. Marlon reminds the rest of the Dingles about what day it is and decides that they should throw him a birthday party. Elsewhere, Nathan urges Natasha to take Declan up on his offer of a holiday when Cain threatens her again. Natasha's later relieved when Declan confirms that the offer of a short break is still on the table.

Marlon's optimistic that Shadrach's off the booze and excitedly arranges his birthday party. Meanwhile, Shadrach goes for a walk and when he returns and sees everyone gathered at Tall Trees, he's hesitant to join them. Later, he turns up drunk and Marlon furiously tells him he doesn't care if Shadrach drank himself to death. Shadrach immediately buys a six pack of beer. While he is walking over a footbridge, he staggers in pain caused by his liver condition and drops his cans in the river. Whilst trying to retrieve them, he loses his balance due to another sharp pain from his liver and collapses. He is then found by Marlon and Rhona, and is dragged out of the water. Rhona realises it's too late. Marlon holds his uncle's body in his arms, crying. Elsewhere, Diane finally sees Charlie's true colours and Nathan continues to plot while Natasha is away.

Elsewhere, the Dingles give Shadrach a good send-off at his funeral; Leyla is disappointed by lack of custom at her new shop; and tensions run high between Natasha and Nathan.

Nathan relaxes as the police question the Wyldes about a gold chain found near Mark's grave. Natasha panics upon hearing the news, but Nathan assures her that their plan is starting to come together.

The police confirm that the DNA on the chain found near Mark's grave is Ryan's and begin questioning Katie about his whereabouts on the night of Mark's murder. Natasha quietly wonders if their plan is coming to fruition when Faye is taken to the police station.

Ryan is deeply unnerved as the police question him and he can't explain why his chain was near Mark's grave. When officers searching Dale View discover Ryan's jacket is covered in gun residue, it's clear he's going nowhere fast.

The police want to keep Ryan in as long as they can and attain a search warrant for the garage. Cain is troubled when the police find a patch of recently dug earth and when they uncover a gun, Cain is asked to make a statement.

Later, Cain tells Maisie and Faye that Ryan has asked him to look out for them, but they insist his efforts would be received better in court. Elsewhere, Jai makes new business plans, and Nikhil is put out when Maisie insists she just needs a friend at the moment.

Natasha coolly asks Faye to go for a walk, but it's not long before things get heated and the insults fly. Natasha angrily blames this on Faye, who furiously slaps her. Instinctively, Natasha returns the favour as Faye spits that, whatever happens, she and Nathan will never be free of their guilt. United in their desire to free Ryan, Maisie gives Faye a letter for him as Faye heads out for her visit. However, she's upset to see Ryan so despondent, and in a desperate bid to help her son, she offers to lie in court for him. Meanwhile, Brenda guiltily admits to Leyla that there were traces of nuts in the cake after all. David insists that Leyla should make a genuine apology for slipping up. Elsewhere, Pearl wrongly assumes that Paddy has agreed to take her to a party; Zak realises why Jai is so interested in the old factory; and Laurel is concerned about Diane's loan from Doug.

Ryan is anxious as he is led to court, while Faye arrives with the others and is annoyed to see Natasha and Nathan already there. As the trial begins, Ashley reacts when the prosecution reveals details of Ryan and Maisie's relationship. As proceedings continue, a terrified Nathan is called to the stand and swears to tell the whole truth. Meanwhile, despite what's happened, Paddy looks forward to the party with Rhona and is baffled by Pearl's strange behaviour, unaware that Pearl thinks she's going with him Elsewhere, Jai approaches Eric and Val over a possible purchase of the old factory; Laurel reveals to a tearful Diane how she feels about her treatment of Doug; and Viv returns after visiting Donna.

Faye is rightfully angry about Nathan's magnanimous answers to the prosecution's questions. A smug Nathan turns on the innocent son façade, and a thoughtful Cain notes that he's managing to make a good impression. Sam and Doug take it in turn on the stand and, though they try to show Ryan in a good light, the prosecution is damning. Later, Natasha feels utterly alone when she can't get hold of Nathan. As she leaves him a voicemail, she's unaware that Nathan is sitting frightened in a barn, bound and gagged. Lots of people want to know the truth and know Nathan is hiding something. Meanwhile, Pearl covers when she catches Rhona going to the ball with Paddy. As they arrive at the party, the pair are amused to be mistaken as a couple, but enjoy the night nonetheless. Back at the hotel, Rhona and Paddy drunkenly realise they have to share a double bed.

Natasha prepares herself for court and is annoyed that Nathan has seemingly abandoned her. Faye seethes that she'll be listening very closely as Natasha takes to the stand. Natasha falters at her oath as the prosecution begins, but she pulls herself together and plays the grieving widow as she gives her version of events. Still being held captive, Nathan is terrified over his predicament and, later, we finally learn who the kidnapper is. Meanwhile, Jai gets to work on his plans for the barn and decides there's only one way to get around the Dingles as neighbours. However, his proposal to buy their land is angrily rejected by Zak and Lisa. Moving onto plan B, Jai asks Charity to be his project manager. Elsewhere, Moira encourages Holly to talk to Hannah about Isaac, and Rhona is embarrassed when she wakes to find her and Paddy shared a bed.

Holly's recent efforts with Hannah look to be paying off when she is invited to go to the village with her sister to meet Isaac. However, Hannah is distracted by Isaac and chases after Holly when she notices her slip away. Hannah catches Holly buying drugs and storms home to tell their parents. Holly puts on the defensive, but slyly slips the wrap from Hannah's bag when no-one is looking. Moira is left reeling when Hannah reveals Isaac dumped her after she chased after Holly. Meanwhile, Faye tries to reassure a nervous Maisie as she worries about her day in court. As the trial continues, the defence presents the photo of Ryan wearing the chain at Gennie and Jamie's leaving party. Later, it's Maisie's turn on the stand and, feeling pushed, she stuns the jury when she accuses Nathan of framing Ryan.

Maisie and Faye anxiously wait for the verdict of Ryan's trial, while Natasha is frustrated when she still can't get hold of Nathan. As events reach a climax in the courtroom, Ryan finally learns whether he'll be spending his future behind bars for a crime he didn't commit. Charity is shocked to discover that Cain is holding Nathan hostage. Meanwhile, Moira and John are shocked to find Holly completely out of it in the barn. John is at a loss and insists to Moira that they crack down on Holly's freedom. As they toy with their options, Moira tentatively suggests they consider the methadone programme. Elsewhere, Eve continues to nag Carl about dumping Chas, Viv approaches Lizzie to find out what happened between Bob and Hazel while she was away.

Nathan is already scared witless after being held hostage by Cain, but now he realises things are going to get worse when Maisie walks in, full of rage, and threatens him. Seriously fearing for his life, it all becomes too much for Nathan and he begins to crack, and finally he reveals the awful truth to his stunned sister. Maisie doesn`t believe a word of what Nathan has to admit, but it's enough to know for Cain to take Natasha and Will to a very special family gathering in the barn, where Natasha faces an important decision. Meanwhile, Rhona feels guilty after her innocent night with Paddy in the hotel, and when Marlon returns, he notices Rhona's reluctance to spend time alone with him - and also spots some awkward discomfort between Rhona and Paddy. When Betty mentions the party, Marlon confronts the pair, but they lie about the night. Later, Paddy steals a moment with Rhona and questions her coolness with Marlon. She hints she's in love with someone else.

Chas invites Eve along to Gennie's lingerie party - oblivious that she also plans to buy some underwear to wow Carl. Keen to keep her man, Eve cheekily suggests to Carl she's going to show him how lucky he is. Meanwhile, Viv is suspicious of Bob's feelings for Hazel when he reveals that he's going to her art class. Not one to let things lie, Viv heads to the village hall when the art class is over. Elsewhere, the atmosphere remains awkward between Rhona and Paddy; and Charity gets all dolled up to help Jai persuade the surveyor to grant planning permission.

Alicia spitefully insults Chas again and, not one to be made fun of, Chas decides to take revenge. At the lingerie party, Chas is fuming when Alicia spits that Chas is too old for sexy underwear. Picking on the wrong Dingle, Alicia feels the wrath when Chas locks her in a cupboard and steal her clothes. Later, Alicia turns up in The Woolpack wearing a small dressing gown as Chas throws her clothes at her. Meanwhile, Paddy is apprehensive when Marlon asks him if he and Rhona have fallen out again. Marlon admits that he's noticed how distant she's been and is going to confront her. However, he's hurt and puzzled when Rhona snaps that there's nothing wrong.

Amy arrives back in the village after skiving school and helps Victoria at work so they can go into town. As they spend time together, Amy tells Victoria that she can't go back to her foster parents and urges her new friend to let her stay at the B&B. Meanwhile, Marlon is encouraged when Rhona agrees to get some time off work so they can spend the afternoon together. However, when they're finally alone, she's curt with him and leaves Marlon bemused when she makes an excuse and leaves early. Elsewhere, Hazel assures Bob that she set Viv straight, but Viv surprises them both when she lies that she's met someone.

Rhona is racked with guilt when Marlon delivers a huge bunch of flowers to the vets. When Paddy urges her to stop messing his friend around, she decides that she can't help her feelings and decides to call it a day. Marlon is left reeling when Rhona evades his questions about there being someone else. Meanwhile, Eve is unimpressed when Chas is all over Carl after a passionate weekend. She coolly warns Carl that he can't have her until he's dumped Chas. However, she storms out when Carl won't put a date on it. Elsewhere, Cain is irked by Charity's new commitment to her work, and when Val and Eric worry that there are rats at the B&B, Victoria warns Amy that she'll have to be quieter in the cellar.

Eve is uneasy when Chas asks her for a coffee. After Carl interrupts, Eve sounds off at how much hurt they are causing by keeping their relationship from Chas and insists that she has to be told. Later, defying his objections, Eve heads to Mill Cottage and it's clear she's building up to tell Chas the truth, but when Carl arrives home, he thwarts her plan. Furious at what Eve was about to do, Carl angrily warns her not to meddle in his life and she's stunned when he cruelly tells her that he's changed his mind about them. Meanwhile, Marlon catches Rhona collecting her belongings from Tall Trees and is gutted when she admits she only ever loved him as a mate. Later, feeling guilty about being Marlon's shoulder to cry on, Paddy feigns ignorance when Marlon questions if he knows the reason Rhona dumped him.

Eve finally comes to terms with being Carl's bit on the side and pounces on him back at Mill Cottage, determined to make up for lost time. After their moment in the sack, Carl's thrown to see Chas pull up on the drive and bundles a half dressed Eve out the back door, bluffing his way through an excuse for being at home. Later, Chas ropes Charity into a night on the town and as she's getting ready upstairs, Charity is bemused to find Chas's bra. As Charity taunts Chas for being a hussy, her face turns sour and it quickly becomes apparent the sexy item doesn't belong to her. Meanwhile, after being preoccupied at the café, Viv is shocked to find the till wide open and cash missing. Shaken by the burglary, Viv seeks comfort in the arms of her former flame Bob.

Chas is shell-shocked as the realisation that Carl must be having an affair sinks in. As she frantically waves the bra around shouting the odds to Charity, Chas notices the label in the bra means it was bought from the lingerie party the other night. Furious that Carl is cheating on her with one of her friends, Chas sets off on the warpath. Despite being out for blood, Charity manages to persuade her to play clever. Hammering on Victoria's door, Katie is perturbed to find Chas and Charity on the doorstep, adamant they want to purchase more underwear. As Chas flicks through the catalogue and picks out the one she found, Gennie confirms her worst fears and reveals that Eve bought that same set at the party. Meanwhile, Bob is on hand to comfort a shaken Viv, who is still upset about the robbery. Grateful for his support, Viv insists she's okay and sends Bob and Hazel off to the pub.

A livid Chas admits she'd be hurt if she could see beyond blind fury and is determined to make Eve and Carl pay for their sordid deception. Sensing Chas's anguish, Charity implores her to hold out and make Carl pay for his deceit, so they replace the bra where they found it. Eve tries to steal a moment with Carl, but he insists they need to locate her missing bra first. Assuming the coast is clear, Carl is relieved to finally find the bra underneath the sofa, but as he stuffs it into his pocket, he jumps as Chas suddenly appears from upstairs proclaiming she felt too ill to go out. Meanwhile, Adam insists on teaching his sister a life lesson and takes her to visit Jackson, but Aaron is unhappy over his methods. Later, when Hazel's painkillers go missing, Adam lays into Holly for stealing them. She denies doing so, but is she telling the truth?

Unable to sleep in the same bed as Carl, Chas has spent the night on the sofa and hides her bitterness towards the man she once loved. Charity urges Chas to wait this one out and make them suffer. Later, as the village bonfire gets under way, Eve is furious to find that toffee has been dumped in her hat and is now hardening in her hair. With poor Jacob in the firing line for the commotion, Alicia jumps to her son's defence and a row ensues. As Chas feigns concern, it becomes clear Jacob isn't the one responsible for the mishap and she takes great delight in watching Eve tug a comb through her hair. Chas clearly has a taste for revenge and next time promises no petty prank - she's upping her game and Carl is next.

Chas ramps up her plans for revenge on Carl as she steals his office keys and destroys all his records and files. John and Moira are appalled at the depths to which Holly is prepared to sink after she sneaks out of the farmhouse - when Bob and Hazel later find her alongside the road and bring her home, she admits that she sold her body for drug money. Paddy does his best to support Marlon in spite of knowing the truth about Rhona, finally convincing him to move on from her. Diane senses Andy is falling for Katie again. Cain pushes Aaron to face Jackson's condition and being one of his carers. He also convinces Ryan to return to work. Later that day, Ryan makes an uneasy peace with Maisie in the pub, but has to be held back by Cain when Nathan tries to mend fences.

As Paddy heads into work with a banging headache, he's forced to admit to Rhona that he was out on the town with Marlon last night. However, their conversation is cut short when a mysterious woman arrives looking for Paddy. It's clear that Paddy pulled last night and Rhona is upset when she hears that he plans to see the woman again. Later, Rhona is unable to ignore her feelings for any longer and questions Paddy's game, sure he's doing it to mask his true feelings. Rhona opens her heart and tells Paddy how she really feels. Meanwhile, John and Moira find Holly riffling through the medicine cabinet, desperate for something to take. In sheer desperation, John takes drastic action by fitting a bolt to her bedroom door. With her mobile confiscated, the door bolted and their fragile junkie daughter locked inside, John and Moira can only pray they are doing the right thing.

As the tension between them continues, Paddy asks Rhona to talk. As he finally acknowledges the chemistry between them, Rhona is setting herself up for rejection, but Paddy confesses she's gorgeous and pulls her in for a kiss. Immediately feeling disloyal to Marlon, Paddy pulls back. Rhona insists she and Marlon are over, but Paddy refuses to betray his friend, even if that means denying his true feelings. Meanwhile, Hazel remains positive about her son's surgery, but Jackson is unsure he should be hoping for miracles. Aaron's grateful when Adam offers to go with him to the hospital tomorrow when Jackson has his surgery. Elsewhere, Diane offers to give Hannah a home until Holly is better, Viv resorts to drastic measures to get Bob's attention, and Jai gives Charity a proposition that means screwing over her own.

Aaron, Hazel, Jerry and Adam rally round Jackson's bedside as he awaits his operation. Hazel attempts to keep the mood light-hearted, but when doctors arrive to take Jackson to surgery, the atmosphere becomes sombre and everyone is left to say their goodbyes. As they await Jackson's return, Adam attempts to get a subdued Aaron to talk, but his reluctance is obvious. With no sign of Jackson, Aaron starts quizzing anyone that walks past, anxious to know he's okay. Moments later, Jackson is returned to his room but the consultant has no news. They are told to wait until Jackson comes round and so the waiting game agonisingly continues.

As the consultants carry out reflex tests on Jackson, his family and friends wait outside for news on the results. Jackson's raw anxiety is evident as the consultant asks if he can feel the pin he places against his body. Jackson fights back tears of disappointment as it becomes clear he can't feel anything. Frustrated that there are still no answers, Hazel tracks down the consultant and forces him to admit that it's looking highly likely that Jackson will remain paralysed from his shoulders down.

At the spinal unit, the atmosphere is awkward as Aaron attempts to make small talk with a despondent Jackson. As the boys sit in silence, a nurse arrives to carry out a personal hygiene task. Full of humiliation at Aaron seeing just how much help he needs, Jackson's overcome with rage and orders Aaron to get out. Later, Aaron finds the courage to return and tries to make light of the situation, joking that Jackson should stop feeling sorry for himself. Incredulous, Jackson tells Aaron to leave and spits that he holds him fully responsible. Floored to hear the words, Aaron's rocked as Jackson tells him he never wants to see him again. Meanwhile, Cain is thrilled when Debbie returns from Jersey, but is curious over her rather sudden reappearance.

Following Rhona's stark news, Paddy confronts Rhona over her plans to leave. Despite being forced to work together on a job up at Butler's, Paddy and Rhona can't seem to agree the best way forward considering the circumstances. Back at the vets, as the pair continue to squabble over the situation, months of sexual tension spill over and they fall into a passionate embrace. Upstairs, they both admit they didn't see it coming and, with guilt descending on them, agonise over what to do now. Meanwhile, Hazel asks Jackson if Aaron has been to visit today, but Jackson reminds his mum that he wants nothing more to do with Aaron.

Carl is snowed under and, handing Eve his card, asks her to get some cash out for him. Chas pretends not to notice when she finds Carl and Eve suspiciously close. While Scarlett hands over the stag cash kitty to Eve and asks her to keep hold of it, Chas is watching her every move.

Nathan is smug as he shows the potential new buyer round Home Farm. Upon introduction to Declan, the air is icy as he quizzes her background and credentials. Having done a tour of the property, the potential buyer puts her cards on the table and admits that she doesn't think the house, land and business is worth what she first thought and lowers her official offer.

Nathan is pleased to have accepted an offer on Home Farm and doesn't hesitate in taking the opportunity to wind up Declan by announcing that his new business partner was the woman he took an instant dislike to yesterday. Sensing he has the upper hand, Nathan reveals the new boss will be arriving shortly. Later, the buyer saunters in over two hours late. Despite Declan appearing desperate to put her off her purchase, she takes a call before announcing that the contract has been signed and Home Farm is officially hers.

Paddy is still reluctant to tell Marlon the truth, so Rhona calls Marlon to arrange to meet him. Paddy is anxious when Marlon questions what Rhona could want to meet for. Later, Rhona realises she has missed her period and rushes out to buy a test. Marlon's annoyed at being stood up by his ex and refuses to let her mess him around anymore. At the vets, Rhona tearfully explains to Paddy that things have just got a lot worse.

Chas kick-starts her masterplan and goes about inviting everyone to the pub later, including Eve. Later, Carl is buoyed with regret when he sees Chas looking stunning. Despite herself, she relents when he pulls her into a passionate embrace. When they arrive at the pub, Charity gets Chas to pull herself together as she plots revenge. When Eve turns up, she is put out to learn that Chas and Carl reignited their passion ahead of their night at the pub.

It's the morning after the night before, and Chas' façade shows signs of cracking as Carl feigns enthusiasm about their engagement. Determined, she makes it clear that she wants the wedding sooner rather than later. However, when Carl resists her enthusiasm to have the wedding ASAP, Chas begins to panic that she won't be able to pull off her master plan. After relaying her concerns to Charity, she's reassured the scam will work - she just needs to up the ante and get him down the aisle fast. In the pub that night, Chas orders orange juice and the penny finally drops for Carl, who's elated when she 'confirms' that she's pregnant.

Maisie and Will refuse to join Nathan to watch Natasha being sentenced, but they are both clearly saddened by the news that she's received at least 21 years inside. In the pub, Nathan is drowning his sorrows and turns his venom on Ryan as he smugly offers to buy him a drink with the fortune he's made selling Home Farm. Venting his anger about his mum, Nathan gloats that he's now a millionaire and Maisie has stuck by him.

Nathan is surprised when Ryan shows up and wants to know why he set him up. As Nathan gloats, Ryan pleads to know who framed him and lays it on thick about Natasha rotting away in prison. Incensed, Nathan spits that he did set him up and watching him get sent down was one of the best moments of his life. Later, Declan approaches Ryan at the garage and hands him a recording of Nathan's confession, which he thinks the police would love to hear.

Nathan boils with anger as he confronts Ryan over setting him up. Ryan makes him sweat about the recording, and states the only way he'll drop it is if Nathan signs over his fortune to a trust for Will. Making his way to Holdgate, Nathan pleads with Maisie and tells her he's just signed over all his cash to Will to prove how much he loves them. However, Maisie opens the door to reveal Ryan stood next to her, and before closing the door in Nathan's face, she asserts that he'd never do anything so selfless by choice.

Declan celebrates his fresh start with a party at his bachelor pad, but is uneasy that Ella is being so elusive over transferring the house. Alicia arrives at the party looking stunning and Declan quickly makes a beeline for her. As they flirt, he moves in for a kiss but in mid-clinch, Declan hears a familiar voice and pauses to see Ella and his daughter Mia have arrived. Shocked at their unexpected return, Declan questions what Ella's up to but she avoids his questions and continues to enjoy the party, while Mia enjoys winding up Alicia.

Moira is determined to wean Holly off the heroin and gives her a ration for the day. However, when Roz calls round again, she's instantly aware Holly's on something and asks where she got it. Moira asks her to leave, but Roz pleads with Adam to trust her and when he angrily confronts Holly,

Holly's need for a fix is increasing and Moira can't bear to see her in pain. Giving Holly the last of the wrap, she's terrified when Adam and John come upstairs and Holly spills it over the carpet in the panic. They don't suspect anything, but John feels they've moved on a step and wants to take the bolt off Holly's door. Agreeing to a compromise, they leave the room but Holly is in distress about the lost fix. Feeling like an addict herself, Moira goes off to buy more drugs.

John panics when he finds Holly agitated in her room. Deeply uneasy, Adam tells John that he thinks he knows why she's so fraught and so desperate for her mum. At the police station, ashamed Moira is unable to face her family and calls Diane. She tells the truth, but the officers emphasise the seriousness of her crime - possession with intent to supply. Back at the house, Adam tells John it's not a lapse, its fresh withdrawal - he thinks Moira's gone to score for Holly.

John has spent the night in his Land Rover and is refusing to talk to Moira. Holly is terrified as she heads back to withdrawal, but Moira can't help her and is at a loss as to what to do. When John arrives home full of anger, he calls Holly down and tells Moira he has a wrap - he wants to know what's so great about heroin. John tells Holly to set it up for him and they'll share it, but she refuses.

It's a bittersweet moment for Jackson and Hazel when he's moved into a wheelchair. Although both are relieved, they're reminded of the seriousness of Jackson's disability and his absolute helplessness. Jerry arrives at the hospital and offers Hazel a cheque to help with the costs, but it's not much and tempers flare up again. The pair eventually call a truce, but Hazel is still worried about affording accommodation until Declan kindly offers to let her have Dale Head at a token rent.

Hazel is concerned over how Jackson might react to renting the house next door to Aaron's work. Having got the keys from Declan, Hazel shows Rhona and Paddy around, describing her ambitious plans to renovate it. They're all concerned by Aaron's dismissive reaction when Hazel mentions moving to Dale Head.

Aaron dismisses Hazel when she tells him that Jackson was just giving him a way out of feeling obligated to care for him. Aaron leaves full of self-loathing after overhearing Hazel explain to Paddy her sadness about Jackson's loveless future. Later, Aaron agrees to go home with a man in Bar West, but at the last minute ducks out and visits Jackson where he explains he's tried to move on but can't. He begs Jackson to move to Dale Head, saying they belong together. Meanwhile, Terry confronts Viv about finding her housekeys. She explains how lonely she's felt since the separation and begs him not to reveal her deceit. Elsewhere, Chas gets emotional when Carl speaks about how much he trusts her, while Sam is distressed to hear that Samson might be dyslexic.

Hazel is thrilled when Aaron reveals that he and Jackson have patched things up and he's committed to him, however Paddy still has his doubts. Later, Aaron and Jackson escape from the hospital and head to Bar West. Jackson feels pitying eyes are on him and worries he's not ready to face the world yet. With renewed determination, Jackson finally agrees to go in and although he's conscious all eyes are on him, he tries his best to enjoy himself. When they return to the spinal unit,

Chas is worried about the number of people who'll be caught in the crossfire at the wedding. However, as she and Carl hand out the invites, she knows there's no going back. Chas feels terrible when Carl arranges to go to Wishing Well for dinner and tries to cancel, but Carl won't have it and insists on going. As Carl makes a heartfelt speech at dinner and Zak welcomes him to the family, Chas feels wretched, but is sure she's sensed a change in him. Meanwhile, Paddy and Marlon sit together in the café and although it's awkward, their old banter returns to disguise the deeper issue. Later, when Rhona tells Paddy she has a scan tomorrow, he suggests asking Marlon to come along. Marlon tells her he hasn't changed his mind but gives his blessing for Paddy to go.

Paddy agrees to accompany Rhona to the scan, but there's a sense she feels Marlon should be there. Rhona's overwhelmed with joy during the scan but panics when the doctor asks for a word. Arriving back in the village, she's bereft and shaken over some unexpected news and Paddy decides to tell Marlon what's happened. Opening the door to a grave Paddy, Marlon knows it's bad news and is in turmoil when Paddy hands him the scan picture and reveals the baby is at a high risk of Down Syndrome.

Katie tells Andy that she's annoyed at him for scowling at Henshall last night, but he can't resist clashing with the detective when he sees him. Diane tells Andy to be careful, while Katie insists to Henshall that she'll deal with Andy herself. Meanwhile, Marlon tells Rhona that he's sorry he wasn't there yesterday and will now be there for her and for the baby. However, as Rhona anxiously waits for more information about her unborn child's condition, she tries to make Marlon understand how this changes everything.

Rhona is still waiting agonisingly for her results and asks a supportive Paddy whether he'll think less of her if she's unsure what to do should the tests be positive. As Marlon, Paddy and Rhona wait nervously for the midwife to arrive, Rhona snaps at Marlon to stop saying everything will be fine. When the midwife finally confirms their fears and reveals that the baby has Down's Syndrome, Rhona gives into the news but Marlon asks for a second test

Hazel is still upset over the situation at Dale Head. Later, in the village carol service, she becomes irritated as Ashley talks about Christmas miracles and, as her anger rises, she demands that Ashley just be honest - there are no miracles and if there is a God, he's cruel and unforgiving.

Jacob tells his new babysitter Amy that he thinks everyone's arguing because of him and asks her to take him to his dad's. The situation between Leyla and Alicia is also frosty, but Alicia is unrepentant - thinking that Leyla should stop getting involved. That night, while Alicia enjoys flirting with Ryan in the pub, Jacob creeps downstairs, puts his coat over his roman soldier costume, lets himself out of the house and heads into the night. Meanwhile, Ashley admits he now realises just what Hazel is going through and wants to donate the church collection to her and Jackson directly. Hazel is touched, but can't accept the grand gesture and decides to put some money towards it herself. However, when a truckload of builders arrive claiming they're here to work on the modifications and they've already been paid for, Hazel is overcome and admits maybe miracles do happen after all.

Leyla, Alicia and David panic when Jacob isn't in his bedroom in the morning. Noticing his shoes and school bag have gone, they realise he's run away and instantly call the police. Meanwhile, on the moors, Jacob is lost, scared and alone. Alicia blames Leyla who was meant to be watching him, while Leyla accuses her sister of being too drunk to check on him when she came in last night. Later, Justin arrives, quickly followed by the police. Everyone soon realises that bickering wont get them anywhere - their little boy is lost in the cold and they need to get out there and find him.

Fears are growing after another cold night with no sign of Jacob, and as the search continues, everyone's terrified that time could be running out. The villagers rally round, but Alicia falls apart when she's informed that a family liaison officer is on his way round. Leyla tries to support her sister, while David comforts Justin who's struggling to cope and blaming Alicia. Returning from a police press conference, the atmosphere between Alicia and Justin is brittle as he continues to accuse her of being a bad mother.

David tries to take in the fact that Justin is Jacob's real father. But things are made worse when it is revealed that Leyla had slept with him in their flat, resulting in Jacob had been conceived, leaving Alicia feeling betrayed by her sister again. Leyla pales as David looks at her in disbelief, but she can't find the strength to deny Justin's claim and crumbles. With Jacob lost and her world falling apart, Alicia is incensed. Over on the moors, Jacob is still in the disused building. As he tries to leave, part of the floor gives way and he falls and is knocked unconscious. Meanwhile, Declan is unimpressed when his dad arrives for Christmas and Carl's romantic behaviour makes Chas wish the wedding was for real.

Jacob has been missing for three days and messages of support flood in as the search appeal goes national. Up on the moors, everyone is searching and when a faint whimper is heard from a disused building followed by a crash, Leyla and David panic upon realising Jacob is trapped. Leyla makes to go inside, but David pulls her back claiming it's too dangerous - he'll go. Inside, as the building starts to crumble further, David sees Jacob.

It's the night of Chas' hen do, and as the festivities get under way and all the girls get their sexy santa costumes on, Chas tries to blot out her feelings. Although she's enjoying giving Eve the majority of dares, Chas is saddened to realise how much she and Carl share when she plays Mr and Mrs.

Charity and Jimmy quickly intervene in Cain and Carl's brawl and Charity drags Cain into the loos. Filling him in about their plan for the sham wedding, she tears a strip off him for nearly ruining everything. Cain is greatly amused by their scheming and hurries to make things up with Carl. He apologises, blaming it all on Eve - insisting he'd made a mistake. Carl can't believe he got away with it.

Hazel and Aaron are gutted when they go to collect Jackson and the doctor informs them that there's been a slight complication and he needs to stay overnight. At the hospital, it's getting late and Jackson's surprised when Aaron arrives, telling him he wasn't going to let him spend Christmas Eve alone. As they watch a DVD on Jackson's bed, there's a tender but bittersweet moment of closeness between them.

It's the day of Carl and Chas's wedding, and while there's a happy atmosphere at Brook Cottage with Carl, Chas is dreading the day ahead at Mill Cottage. Finally in her wedding dress and looking beautiful, Chas contemplates how she feels about being a bride.

Eve and Edna's quiet drink in the Woolpack don`t go as planned when they find Chas and Charity already there. And Chas starts a physical discussion with her rival. Andy is furious with Diane when she warns Katie that she should never have led Andy on. Later, Katie admits that someone has been calling in the middle of the night and hanging up. As the day continues, Andy turns up at The Woolpack asking for a word with Katie. Tired of his obsessing, she tells him to leave it and Chas angrily suggests he get the message.

Katie and Gennie enjoy a night out in Hotten, but they're horrified when they return to discover they've been burgled. The police are taking their time arriving so Gennie convinces Katie to call Henshall. Upon further inspection, they realise not much has been taken but are shocked at the way in which the house has been trashed. Henshall comforts them but admits he is worried that someone is out to get the girls. Meanwhile, Amy is left wondering what Eric is up to when she hands him a letter from 'Elizabeth' and questions if she's his fancy woman. Elsewhere, Leyla tries to convince Alicia to seek legal advice instead of ignoring Justin, and Jackson struggles to come to terms with his new life in the village.

Amy follows Eric to the cemetery as he prepares to meet 'Elizabeth'. Looking at his ex-wife's headstone, he is eager to know who's behind all this. When he arrives back at the B&B, Amy falters that Elizabeth didn't show and when Eric realises she's followed him, he angrily accuses her of being behind it all. Genuinely upset, Amy denies his accusation and accuses Eric of having an affair. But she's stumped when he reveals 'Elizabeth' is his dead wife and they are curious to know who's behind the mischief. Meanwhile, Henshall visits the girls to make sure they're okay, but Katie is awkward over his kindness. Gennie mentions that Andy could have been behind this, but Katie snaps at her. However, it's clear it's crossed her mind too. Later, Gennie's suspicions are further ignited when Ryan tells her that Andy was out somewhere so he wouldn't have seen anything.

As the village remembers the plane crash, Eric seems to be taking the anniversary of his wife's death particularly hard. However, when he finds another sign from 'Elizabeth', he's taken aback and angrily insists that it's Amy who's haunting him. Later, when Eric visits Elizabeth's grave and puts some flowers down, a cold voice from behind startles him. Michael stands there as Eric accuses him of sending the flowers. Michael coolly insists that it wouldn't be his mother, would it?

Eric tries to get away as Michael insists they both know the truth. However, it's clear this business isn't finished. Later, Michael appears in the B&B and introduces himself before relaying that Eric killed his mother. Val quickly shows him the door, but it's clear she wants answers from Eric.
