Zak is still furious with Albert for taking advantage of his sons. Mandy tells him off for taking his anger out on Butch and Sam. Albert poaches a chicken from Adlington's Farm. Kelly has a go at Jack for sending sheep to be slaughtered at market. She also says that she is against veal calves being transported across the continent in appalling conditions.

Dave calls round to see Kim early in the morning. Linda considers going round to see her parents. Betty encourages her, reminding her that her parents have treated her better than Biff's. Kim refuses to leave Home Farm. She rows with Dave when he decides that they have no future as she seems to value money more than their love. Zak, Mandy, Sam and Butch make plans to exchange Albert for Tina. They are all resentful towards Albert. Kim tells Dave that she loves him but she could not bear to be a penniless nobody again. He agrees to wait a while and play it her way. Zak goes to see Dillon, demanding to see Tina before making any deal. She is happy living in luxury. Rachel is trying to persuade Chris to forget about Kim and the inheritance, believing they can get by living on his shares. He opens a letter from the solicitors which demands payment of all the loans that Chris has ever had from the company.

The fight between Rick and Biff spills out onto the street. Linda brings Terry over to help, but Biff sorts it out and gets rid of Rick. He refuses to go back with Sandra and she leaves. Tina arrives home, having not been charged. Scott bunks off school to spend time with Seth. Linda tends to Biff's wounds. She wants Biff to make his peace with his mum and also tells him that she is moving back home. They talk about getting a flat together, but realise that they are going to have to work hard and save up just to afford the deposit. Frank and Zoe persuade Kim to go home. Frank is desperate to talk to Zoe alone. Biff asks Dave to use his influence to get him a pay rise. Dave tells him that he asked Kim if she would give everything up and run away with him. Biff is not surprised when Dave tells him that Kim refused; he is surprised that Dave is still seeing her though.

Zoe realises that she is going to have to help Frank in his plan to get revenge on Kim for the sake of his health. She tells Emma that she really doesn't care if Kim ends up with everything. Tina retrieves Eric's money from where she hid it while being chased by Dillon's men. Subject to more detailed plans being submitted, Jack and Sarah are given permission for their barn conversion to go ahead. Nellie has sent a letter and presents for everyone. Rachel is sarcastic towards Chris as he continues searching for a way to beat Kim, even though he has been told by a solicitor that he is no longer entitled to a say in how the business is run. He gets annoyed when someone phones up to ask if the Mill is for sale. The Dingles have all received framed photographs of Nellie with personal messages from her - "Your Mam will always remember you" for Butch, "I'll never forget my lovely Sam",

Chris visits Kathy at the earliest opportunity, wanting to talk to her about Kim and Dave. Biff and Linda ask Chris if he wants his car washing, but he makes a sarcastic remark about it being bob a job week. Biff feels embarrassed. Kathy knows that Chris does not want to help her, he just wants to destroy Kim and refuses to join in. Kim is amazed when Frank tells her that he has decided to let her and Dave run the business from now on as he is going to take it easy. She does not realise that Frank has a master plan. Tina is annoyed that Zak has drunk away all their money and tells him a few home truths. She also tells Butch to go out and get a job. Sam is worried by Eric's reaction when he is late. He tries to talk to him about his mum but Eric is not sympathetic. Tina wakes Mandy up. She is hungover after polishing off Nellie's Creme de Menthe. Chris tells Zoe about Kim's affair.

Zak is still trying to come to terms with Nellie's departure. Tina tries to make him face up to it. Zoe does not approve of Frank being so hard on Chris. The lads start up a card game; they want Frank back as their boss. Seth uses a dead rabbit as his stake. Dave is fuming with Kim for not letting him know how her confrontation with Frank went. Tina tries to encourage everyone to start bringing money into the house and accept that Nellie has gone. Scott brings Butch the cash for the gun. Chris is ranting on about Frank and Kim. Rachel tries to make him appreciate that Joseph is more important than money, but Chris is determined that he will not let Kim win. Rachel is disgusted with his greed. Scott tries out the gun. He tells Butch that he will have to keep it secret from his parents as his real dad was an armed robber. The trigger seems a bit dodgy, but Butch assures him that it is a safety device.

Biff picks Linda up and is surprised to hear that Dave is on a course in Leeds. Roy calls at The Woolpack and asks if he can clean Alan's car, saying that he and Kelly will do it cheaper than Biff and Linda. Terry refuses. He mentions to Betty that Biff and Linda are saving up to get married. Ned finds Chris sitting in his car surveying Emmerdale Farm land. Chris tells him he is doing some research to see if his son's investment is secure. Dave is not in Leeds, but has spent the night at Home Farm. As he and Kim let the dog out for some fresh air, Pete McCarthy takes photographs of them kissing. Ned tells Jack that Chris has been looking at the farm. He threatens to leave if Chris has anything to do with the place. Jack is furious. Kim issues orders to the staff before she leaves for the hospital to pick Frank up.

Biff and Linda meet up early to earn some extra cash before work. Linda notices that Roy and Kelly have placed an advert in the post office window offering to clean cars and windows at the cheapest prices in town. She is furious. Ned and Jan talk to Dave about Home Farm and both think that Kim will be relying on him even more now that Frank has retired. Tina and Mandy count their earnings from the previous evening. Regan paid them in dollars. They are discussing the date when Zak and Butch walk in. Zak is not impressed with how they earned the money. Frank suggests to Kim that he gets out of her way for a while. She suggests a cruise, but he is thinking about moving into the attic room where he can set up a study. He is going to get his friend Pete to help him move. Rachel tells Chris to stop sticking his nose in at Emmerdale Farm. He is determined to get involved though.

Ned tells Jan not to take any notice of Chris, but she is convinced that he is telling the truth about Dave and Kim's affair. Things start to add up for her now - the tenancy, Kathy and Dave splitting up. They decide to confront him. Biff and Linda are washing Alan's car. Biff wants to tell Betty about their decision to get married. Dave doesn't deny the affair when confronted by his parents. Jan is shocked and worried about their future. She also cannot believe that he would betray Frank when he has treated him so well. Dave tries to justify the affair telling them that he is in love with Kim and that he just could not help himself, nothing else matters. Roy splatters Alan's clean car with mud so that he can get paid for re-cleaning it and wreck Linda and Biff's reputation. Scott asks Butch to go rabbitting with him. He is bunking off school again.

The police are at the Windsors' as Scott is still missing. Scott has spent the night in the woods. Vic and Viv argue in front of Donna who has a graze on her forehead. Over at the Glover's, Jan is ignoring Dave. Linda decides to cheer her up by telling her that she and Biff are going to get married, but this news doesn't seem to have the desired effect. Chris insists to Rachel that he has only been acting in the interests of his family. She doesn't believe him and seems to be having second thoughts about their relationship. Kelly has to do Scott's paper round. Everyone is complaining that they haven't had their papers delivered, but they all rally round when they hear the reason why. Betty offers to look after the shop while Sarah minds Donna. Dave tells Kim that he is going to move into the cottage.

Ned tries to persuade Jan not to turn her back on Dave but she isn't interested. Rachel pushes Chris for an answer to her ultimatum. He chooses her and Joseph. Betty treats Seth to a cooked breakfast for his actions with Scott the previous day. Dave tells Ned that he's aware that they're behind on the rent for Holdgate Farm and has managed to stop Kim finding out. He tells Ned he can't guarantee she won't find out however. He encourages Ned to rent his room out. Ned asks Dave not to say anything to Jan. Vic continues to give Scott a hard time and assures him he'll be watching him like a hawk from now on. Scott isn't pleased. Jan continues to ignore Dave as he attempts to say goodbye to her. Sarah is enthusiastic as the bunk barn begins to take shape. Ned offers to work overtime in order to get it finished sooner and for the extra cash.

Kim gears out the new cottage as a love shack for her and Dave.

Kim immediately blames Dave for everything and tells Frank that this is the first time that anything has happened between them. Dave is shocked at Kim's complete denial of their relationship as she even insists that the baby is Frank's. He tells Dave to get off his land and if he sees him again he will shoot him. Betty is stuffed after Biff and Linda's meal, but she still tries to put them off marriage. She has to admit defeat in the end. Dave wants an explanation from Kim. She tries to make him see that she is not prepared to walk away from Frank with nothing and is going to have to try and make it up. Dave agrees with Frank that she is a bitch after she tells him to go back to his parents. She runs back to Frank who tells her that he hired a private investigator and knows everything. Roy begrudgingly agrees to helping Ned out for nothing on the farm, but Ned and Jan realise that every penny counts.

Kim is in bed at Home Farm. Frank has little interest in her, just the baby. Linda tells Viv that she and Biff are no longer together. Viv makes a nasty comment. The Glovers' rent is due today and Ned is not looking forward to facing Frank. They both realise that they could lose the farm. Chris hasn't phoned Rachel and she doesn't expect him to apologise. Sarah is quite optimistic about the situation. Dave and Jan have a heart to heart. He admits that his life is a complete mess, but that he can't just walk away because of the baby. The doctor has told Kim to have bed rest. Frank makes it clear that as soon as she is fit again, he wants her out. Sam has sent Mandy a Valentine card. Zak is still in training. Butch thinks that Mandy has sent him a Valentine card. Frank offers Biff some of Dave's responsibilities. He says that he will increase his salary, but that he has to have nothing more to do with Dave.

Frank gets rid of some old furniture that Kim bought him. Zoe insists that he meets her at The Woolpack later on for a change of scene. Roy is still harping on about having a new pair of trainers. Frank wants Kim to leave Home Farm now. She has no intention of leaving and tells him that her solicitor is due to visit soon. Jack surprises Rachel and Sarah by advising Rachel to go back to Chris. Jan hasn't got enough money to pay for groceries in the shop. Viv lets her have credit. Chris tells Rachel that he is back running Home Farm now and he wants his family back as well. Rachel refuses. Mandy and Tina have a laugh in the tearoom. Nick can't help gloating over Dave when he leaves the cottage. Kim sees her solicitor. She is pleased to hear that Frank cannot make her leave legally and she has no intention of leaving voluntarily. Eric takes an interest in Zak's fight when he learns that he could win £2,000.

Sarah is panicking as Chris has taken Joseph. Scott and Roy are barred from going into a nightclub. They decide to get drunk instead. Kim is insistent that she is not going to leave Home Farm so Dave will have to move in with her. Dave is uncomfortable with the idea. Ned is seething as he watches them from the window. Zak has got drunk again. Mandy is annoyed because it is the night before his big fight. Ned storms out and confronts Kim and Dave when they start kissing. They row as Roy arrives home in a drunken state. Dave is incensed by Ned's words and, after Kim has left, punches Ned and they begin to fight. Ned tells Dave to leave the farm and never come back. Kathy is having a night in when Chris calls her. Viv and Terry are taking part in a dance competition. Terry is disheartened when he sees that one of the judges is Gerald Taylor. Kathy helps Chris with Joseph.

Kim and Frank row as she protests about him cancelling her credit card. He maintains that he has the right to deny her access to company funds and also make sure that she does not charge deliveries of straw to Home Farm. Biff is caught in the middle as they argue about who is going to move the straw. Jan feels awful about not being able to give Linda an eighteenth birthday present. They are also going to have to delay her party. Butch is looking for a romantic present for someone in the post office. Viv suggests chocolates. Vic notices that Viv is referred to as 'Mrs Terry Woods' on the front page of the Hotten Courier. Frank has placed an ad for a housekeeper in the local paper. He meets Kim who is paying for her magazine and papers not Frank's. Emma is still annoyed about Frank interrupting her and Zoe's celebration meal the other night.

Seth lies injured where the poachers left him. He calls out for Charlie, but the dog is nowhere to be seen. Betty thinks that Seth has been working all night, but is puzzled when Charlie comes running towards her without his master. Jan apologises again to Linda for not being able to afford a big birthday bash. Vic and Betty set off to look for Seth. Biff is following Charlie on his motorbike. Chris wants Frank to agree to opening the holiday village all through the winter, but Frank isn't sure. Kim walks in and tells Frank that she has put off three prospective housekeepers. She takes a swipe at Chris, but Frank puts her down saying she is a non-person. Biff follows Charlie who leads him to Seth. His leg is hurting. Mandy is determined to apply for the housekeeper job. Betty gets upset when she and Vic cannot find Seth. They then hear Biff's motorbike approaching.

Emma has been out early to buy Zoe some flowers. She is really pleased and surprised that Zoe has agreed to a church blessing of their relationship. It is Linda's birthday. Jan and Ned are embarrassed by their small present - a pink twin set. Roy has taped her some music. Frank and Chris are looking through the applicants for the housekeeper job. Betty arrives - five hours early for her interview. Chris makes a snide comment about Seth never coming back to work. Kelly is playing hard to get with Roy; this doesn't bother him, he is just worried about how he will do his maths homework. Tina is sceptical about Mandy's chances of getting the housekeeper job, but Mandy has got it sorted. She's got her dad to forge her some certificates and she has got a reference from Lord Melthorn's daughter, of whom she used to share a cell with, Lady Caroline. Zak is shattered after a training run.

Ned is proud of Jan for attacking Kim. Zak is nursing a black-eye. He wants to find the person who called out Nellie's name. Jan asks Roy to get some provisions from the post office. She wants him to ask for credit. Vic is moaning about the size of the Glovers tab. He wants them to pay up. Betty is resentful about not getting the housekeeper job. She and Viv admire Jan for standing up to Kim. Kim and Dave are rowing about Jan. Kim is trying to cut him off from his friends and family. Frank enjoys seeing them row. Kathy is let down as Betty asks for the day and night off. It is the first gourmet evening and she will need some help. Eric calls up at the Dingles to discuss Zak's next fight. Zak realises that it was Eric who called out Nellie's name to distract him. He threatens him, but Eric is surprisingly helped out by Tina who asks for a lift up to Home Farm so that she can go and pay the rent.

Zak decides to go to Ireland to win Nellie back. Ned notices £5 missing from his wallet. Jan admits that she took it to pay Viv back. Zoe sheepishly goes to see Frank. She tells him that she wants his blessing because it means the most to her. He gives her it. Jan is determined never to set foot in the post office again. Viv feels bad about the row, but Vic is unrepentant. Sean treats Kathy and Betty to champagne at breakfast as the gourmet evening was a success. Mandy receives a letter from Frank telling her that she has not been successful in getting the housekeeper job. She immediately thinks that Betty must have got it. Tina looks slightly guilty and tells Mandy that she is too good for the job anyway. Zak is packed and ready to go to Ireland. Sean asks Kathy out. Jack and Sarah are expecting the next load of bunk barn visitors - a city mission study group.

Zoe is furious with Frank. Emma wants her to cool down. Butch is trying to exert some authority on the rest of the Dingles in Zak's absence, but they ignore him. Mandy has made a meal for Frank. Kelly is worried that her parents row with the Glovers will ruin her chances of getting back with Roy. Scott points out that he chucked her. Jan is willing to clean for the Sugdens if that is what it takes to help the Glovers keep their farm. She encourages Ned to think positive. Jack has had enough of the bunkhouse visitors, especially when he has to give them a tour of the farm. Frank asks Tina to deliver a letter from his solicitor to Kim personally. She enjoys seeing Kim squirm and embarrasses her in front of Biff and Nick. Jack is trying to control the city kids. He brings an orphan lamb out to show them and they soon go quiet. Linda asks Zoe to help her with her exams coming up.

Darryl, one of the inner city mission kids is hanging round the farmyard looking for trouble. He removes something from Jack's tractor and then watches as Jack tries and fails to start it. Kelly is treating Viv with disdain. She refuses to wish her luck for the dance competition in London and tells her that she thinks she is too old to be doing what she is doing. Darryl offers to fix Jack's tractor. Jack is unpleasant to him. Sarah tells him that a lot of the kids have family problems. Zoe and Emma talk about their blessing ceremony. They decide to make it a small affair. Betty overhears the word marriage and tells Zoe rather ironically that it is a shame that she will never be seen "gliding down the aisle" as Betty puts it. Sam is chalking the numbers on a dartboard that they found on the tip.

Sarah is cleaning out the bunkhouse in anticipation of the next guests - a group of bankers. Ned tells Jack that a newborn calf is dead. He calls Zoe. Susie is an old girlfriend of Emma's. Zoe is jealous. Ned rants on to Linda about the lesbian blessing. She defends Zoe and tells Ned that he is living in the Dark Ages. Jan goes mad when she sees the phone bill and notes most of the calls are to the post office. She has a go at Roy. Nick and Seth find Biff storing some Home Farm compost out of the way. He is going to give it to Ned. Zoe tests Jack's dead calf and tells Jack she will send the samples off to the ministry. Sarah puts her foot in it by asking about the blessing - a touchy subject with Zoe. Susie explains to Emma that she has been thrown out by her latest partner. Linda sees Emma hugging Susie. Kim has a cash flow problem, but she doesn't want Frank to know about it. Tina overhears her talking to Dave.

Zoe has tested Jack's cows and tells him that they seem okay. She wants to know why the calf died though. It is Sarah's birthday. Robert gives her a card but Jack seems to have forgotten. Vic and Viv are still arguing. Donna senses that something is wrong and asks them if they will both be there when she gets home. Sarah and Rachel clean out the bunkhouse ready for a group of executives arriving. Susie is still annoying Zoe by her presence. Betty is introduced to Susie, but disapproves when she finds out that she is Emma's ex. Roy has missed his school bus again. Ned lets him help on the farm and tells Jan that he'll get a better education that way. Jack finds out from Jan that it is Sarah's birthday. The executives arrive at Emmerdale Farm. Rachel recognises one of them and Sarah looks on as they kiss. Linda asks Kathy if she can help out at the gourmet evening.

The executives are doing Tai Chi outside the farmhouse. Jack finds it amusing. The postman is chased by the Dingles dogs again. He has brought them a postcard from Zak in which he says that 'we' will be home soon. They all think that he has persuaded Nellie to come home. Sean has spent the night with Kathy. He asks to see her that night. Biff is a bashful hero once again. Kim has been told by her solicitor that Frank has got too much evidence against her for her to have a claim. She is ready to give up. Donna witnesses her parents arguing and gets upset. Sam tells Eric that his mum is coming home. Eric is not surprisingly unimpressed and doesn't share Sam's joy. Rachel is preparing for her friend Steve to come for dinner. Chris is jealous which annoys her. Sam thinks that maybe Nellie went away because he didn't tell her that he loved her.

The Dingles are puzzled as to why Zak has turned up with this mystery woman. Sam is upset that his mum has not returned home. Betty complains to Zoe about the state of Susie's room. She's cold with Emma. Zoe is still upset that Emma chose to stay in with Susie rather than go out with her. She then gets a phone call on her business phone number from someone trying to book a hair appointment with Susie. Dave moves out of Home Farm. He can no longer stand Frank's snide remarks. Tina takes the opportunity to be nasty to Kim. Zak tells Butch and Mandy that he met Marilyn in a church in Ireland. She was sheltering as some trucker had thrown her out of his cab. Butch cannot take his eyes of Marilyn when she appears in a slinky negligee. She seems to think that Zak has a large farm and he doesn't disillusion her.

Kim tells Dave that she is prepared to compromise by moving into Annie's cottage with him if only to keep Kathy out. Kathy confides in Nick that she wishes Dave had not moved so close to her. As they are talking, Kim makes a show of throwing Kathy's wine bottle into the dustbin. Vic has a bouquet of flowers delivered to Viv. Zak has got a wad of money to spend on Marilyn in Leeds. Mandy and Butch dislike her. Vic and Viv have a blazing row in the backroom of the post office. She tells him that it will take more than flowers to put their marriage right and that she almost wishes that she had gone for it with Terry because he treats her nice. Frank is glad to have Tina around Home Farm to cheer him up. Butch tries to stop his dad from blowing all his money on Marilyn, but Zak is determined to show her a good time. Steve and his mates are leaving the bunkhouse.

Roy lays unconscious after losing a couple of fingers in the saw. Ned and Jan seem to freeze, but Linda and Dave take control of the situation. Butch refuses to interfere with Zak and Marilyn. Kathy and Sean are having a business meeting in the tearoom. Kim walks in and interrupts them telling Kathy that she and Dave are nest making. Linda packs Roy's fingers in ice. Butch and Mandy run to see what has happened. Butch offers to drive Roy to hospital as the ambulance will be quite a while. Ned is rooted to the spot. Marilyn offers to make chips. Dave tries to force Ned to go to the hospital with him. Emma tries to force Zoe to have a drink with her and Susie. Frank invites Chris for a drink, but he is too busy. He is forced to ask either Nick or Seth if they would like to join him, but they are busy as well. He is left alone with Peggy again. Seth is worried that badger baiters are active on the estate again.

Mandy is jealous when Tina tells her that she is going to the West Indies with Frank Tate. She immediately thinks that he must have ulterior motives for asking her. Kim is totally unsympathetic about Ned's involvement in Roy's accident and tells Dave that drinking isn't the answer. Zak refuses to allow Tina to go on holiday with Frank, but she completely ignores him. Linda and Biff can't believe it when Tina tells them that she is going on holiday with Frank, after the damage she did to Luke. Meanwhile, Chris is just equally as shocked when Frank informs him of their plans. Betty is getting used to all the changes and relationships in the village, and finds hot gossip on the three girls living together at the surgery. However, she is unaware that Seth is finding out the top latest gossip from Frank Tate himself. In the shop, Tina enjoys telling Kim that she is going to the West Indies with Frank.

Nick wakes up with the shotgun beside him. He throws the gun into a nearby bush before running off. Kathy is worried about him. Linda is appalled when Tina telephones the surgery asking about Frank's dog. She can't believe that Zoe is not going to do anything about Frank taking Tina on holiday. Kathy is being interviewed by the police. They are hinting that Nick is some kind of murderer. Kim and Dave are setting off to look at houses. Kim is not happy in Annie's cottage. Seth and Biff are out looking for Nick. Frank is furious that it was left to Seth and Nick to confront the badger baiters. Tina winds Chris up again. Roy gives one of the nurses a box of chocolates as he leaves hospital. Kelly wants to send him a card. Vic informs Terry that Frank is taking Tina on holiday. He looks upset. Alice is asking about her dad. Seth and Biff find Nick. He is in a terrible state and starts to cry.

Zoe has examined Jack's herd and can find nothing to explain the death of one of his calves. She assures him that there is no sign of BSE. Ned is embarrassed when she mentions that she is going off to see the vicar about the blessing. Jack wishes her good luck. Tina has lost her passport. Sam is worried that she will not be coming back just like Nellie so he has stolen her passport. She promises him that she will only be gone for two weeks. Mandy has to sit on Tina's suitcase to close it. Dave offers Kathy moral support as Nick is due to appear in court. Nick's lawyer tries to calm him down, but warns him that he may not be granted bail. Kim has little sympathy for him. Kathy calls round to Mill Cottage and asks Chris if he would go with her to court. Eric thinks that Nick deserves to go to prison. Zoe is nervous as she and Emma set off to talk to the vicar about the blessing.

Zak has spent the night on the sofa. Marilyn was nagging him to buy her a pair of leather Elvis trousers. Emma and Susie are going into Hotten to buy Emma her wedding outfit. Linda notices how friendly they are. Kim and Dave look round an enormous house and totally disagree on the sort of house that they want to live in. Zoe is handing out invitations and gives one to Vic and Viv. Vic is about to tell her what he thinks of the blessing idea when Viv says that they will be delighted to come. Chris asks Jan if they have reported Roy's accident. She says that surely there is no need now that Roy is okay, but Chris insists that they report it soon. He tells Jan that there is some gardening work to be done on the estate if Ned is interested. Marilyn is still in a mood with Zak. He is determined to buy her the trousers that she wants and drags Butch and Mandy along.

Mandy wants to throw Elvis away, but Sam won't let her and walks off to work with the dummy. Butch and Mandy are both glad that Marilyn has disappeared. Kim's offer on a house has been accepted, but she is not happy because it will not become vacant for another six weeks. Scott wants his air rifle back. Vic and Viv are adamant that he will never use it again. Vic is rude to Susie when she comes to re-word her advert for home hairdressing. Zak is depressed about Marilyn until he finds out that she has stolen money from them. He decides to go to the police. Zoe wants a reply from Betty about the blessing. She surprises her by accepting. Jack and Ned have found the Dingles' van. Caroline Bates arrives at the tearoom and gets the wrong impression of Sean. Jan thinks that she has paid Eric back when she gives him £60, but he wants interest so she still owes him £15.

Sam is pleased to get a postcard from Tina, but it fails to cheer Zak up. He is still moping about Marilyn. Kim and Dave are both nervous about a business dinner that they are attending. Kim feels her baby move. Emma notices that Zoe and Susie seem strained with each other. Caroline tries to pressure Kathy into letting her take Alice to Scarborough. Vic and Scott arranged to do something after school together without Viv knowing. Dave is helping Ned out on the farm. Roy is moaning because he can't get a girlfriend and is envious of Dave's set up. Ned gets a shock when a man turns up from the Health and Safety. He knows about Roy's accident. Chris informs Seth and Biff that they will have to look after a student from agricultural college as he can't be bothered; just then a pretty girl drives up in a smart sports car and introduces herself as Alex, the student.

Caroline is nagging Kathy to call the police about the fire. Kathy does not want to risk Social Services finding out about Alice's circumstances. She also does not want her mum to move Alice from her home and friends. Roy does not want to go to school as he is fed up of all the teasing he is getting about his fingers. Ned is proud of his first home grown lettuce. Linda is in a mood about Alex and does not congratulate her dad. Terry warns Vic that Viv is suspicious about the other night. Kelly is told off for wearing make up for school. Kim selfishly shows little enthusiasm for the Glovers first lettuces and bedding plants and this upsets Dave. She is just thinking of the dinner with the investors in the leisure complex that evening. She wants to decorate the cottage seeing as they may be stuck there for a while, but Dave reminds her that they are only renting.

Alice doesn't want to go to school and Kathy has to force her. As they set off, a blue van follows them. The Dingles have been sitting up all night waiting for Elvis to cry again. As Kathy is walking along with Alice, the Connells pull up beside them and warn Alice to be careful on the road. Dave is trying to explain to Kim that he felt out of his depth discussing business last night. She is patronising towards him. Emma is trying to get Zoe to show some interest in the blessing. They still have a lot to organise and she seems to be avoiding the subject. Susie teases Betty about what will happen at the blessing. Frank is due back today and Chris is issuing orders to Seth and Biff. He tells Seth to get on with the gardening while Biff is expected to sort out the office. Biff stands up to Chris who docked his wages for visiting Nick. Dave has confided in Jan about Kim. Jan advises him to start living his own life so that he is on equal terms with Kim.

Susie tries again to get Zoe to call off the blessing. She thinks that Emma knows about them which upsets Zoe. Viv has informed the bishop about the blessing and she tells Alan that she is confident it will be stopped. Chris is speechless as he realises that Tina has spent the night at Home Farm. Sam tries to disguise Elvis so that he can take him away from Zak, but the overcoat doesn't work. Mandy tells them that Tina is home and spent the night at Home Farm. Zak thinks that she has got it together with Frank. Kathy has kept Alice off school. She tells Rachel that Elsa has just disappeared and actually she is quite glad. Jan asks Rachel if she can buy back the silver cake stand. She doesn't explain why she wants it, but Rachel refuses anyway saying that she doesn't have time to buy anything else for Emma and Zoe. Chris asks Frank what the state of play is between him and Tina.

Chris overhears Tina remind Frank about an appointment with the solicitor that afternoon regarding a contract. He wants to know what it is all about. Frank tells Chris that it is none of his business and reminds him that he is merely an employee at Home Farm now, just like Tina. This really gets to Chris. Kim is in a quiet mood and Dave has noticed. He thinks that Frank has upset her. When he suggests buying wallpaper for the baby's room, she stalls him saying that it is unlucky. Kathy has taken Alice to school. The Connells were there again and Sean is eager to sort them out but doesn't want the police involved. Sam has changed his mind about exploiting Elvis since Zak told him that he would get lasses. The Dingles invade the Village Hall to use the stage. Tina delivers a letter addressed to Nick to the tearooms.

Dave asks Kim if she will change her name once they are married. He wants to announce their engagement to the whole village. Kim is reluctant, but blames the fact that Frank might find out and drag the divorce settlement. Dave gets angry. Zoe is actually working on the day of the blessing. Linda and Emma laugh about it. They all have a glass of champagne and Linda shoots Susie a warning look. Terry unwisely tells Eric that Sean has got a prison record. The guests arrive for the blessing. Zoe turns up in her overalls and Emma asks Susie if she will go and help her dress. Linda immediately offers to go instead. Dave has decided to keep the news quiet about the engagement, but he does want to tell Jan and Ned. Kim doesn't think that it is a good idea for her to go with him. Betty is offended when a lesbian woman thinks that she is gay. Zoe is nearly ready when Susie arrives.

The lesbian blessing has hit the headlines of the local newspaper 'Lesbian love storm hits wacky wedding day' is on the front page of the Hotten Courier. Betty reads it with some relish, but changes her tune when she is confronted by Emma. Betty is told that her services are not needed today. Emma wants to forget that the blessing ever happened. She feels that everything is her fault. Zoe brings up Susie's name. Linda mentions to Jan that Rachel's blessing present to Zoe and Emma is just like their silver cake stand. Jan looks embarrassed. Betty is desperate to wangle her way into the surgery so that she can find out all the gossip. She decides to take Charlie for his claws clipping, but then her interest moves on to Kim and Dave when Linda announces that they are getting married. Biff looks upset at the news. Zak is clearing his yard out of scrap.

Scott and Roy are fed up because they did not get paid more for the stories they sold to the newspaper. Viv tells them off for talking to the journalist. She wants them to apologise to Emma and Zoe. Kim is not pleased that Dave told Frank about their marriage plans. Butch and Sam are excited after a night spent in the caravan. Butch hopes that Mandy will come in with them. Terry is weight-training in preparation for his rugby match. Betty is put out because she is named as a frequent visitor to the lesbian household. Frank is still confident that Kim will come running to him. Dave thanks Kathy for getting Kim to hospital. Zoe is torn between Emma and Susie and seeks sanctuary at Home Farm with Frank. Viv tries to make Emma see that her remarks to the newspaper were not personal and that she is ashamed of her son. Emma is not interested.

He is confident that Martin Offiah will save the day for the Farsley Fliers. Viv says that she will be watching and will drag Vic along as well. He is reminded by Scott that they will be 'swimming'. Dave visits Kim with a big bunch of flowers. He is keen to discuss the wedding and cannot see that there will be any complications.

Rachel has taken Susie to the hospital. Zoe rushes over there as soon as she hears the news. Rachel tells her that it was a hit and run accident and Zoe immediately suspects one of the rugby crowd. Alan finds Terry in a drunken state wallowing in self-pity. He thinks that he has made a mess of his life and Alan realises that it is going to be a long night. Susie does not want the police involved, knowing it was Emma. Terry tells Alan about meeting Elaine and admits that he married Britt on the rebound. Alan tells him that he will always have him to talk to. Ned is due in court today and Dave calls round to give him some support. Jan warns Ned not to lose his temper. Kim is due home from hospital today and Jan offers to clean their cottage for her. A nurse tells Kim that all she should be thinking about is her baby.

Kim walks into Home Farm. Dave is wondering why she has not come home from the hospital. Kim is to be confined to the attic rooms at Home Farm. Tina takes delight in telling her. Viv wants an explanation from Vic as to why he has been secretly taking Scott to a gun club. He claims that he wanted to teach him to act responsibly with a gun. Viv is not happy with the explanation and bans Scott from the gun club. She also wants him to hand his rifle into the police. Dave finds a note pushed through his door. It is from Kim, briefly telling him that she has gone back to Frank and that one day he will understand. Kim cannot believe the room that Frank expects her to live in. She describes it as a cell. Frank reminds her that he only cares about the baby and not about her and that as long as she remembers that in public she must behave as his dutiful wife she will get a million pounds.

Biff lays into Kim telling her that she has destroyed Dave. Frank tells her that Tina has volunteered to pick up all her belongings from Dave's cottage. Dave finds a scan photo of the baby in the pocket of Kim's silk dressing gown. Mandy has started charging for any meals that she makes at Wishing Well Cottage and Zak is the first. Sean has to let Kathy down when he is offered some work in Leeds. They argue in front of Eric because Kathy will still not consider opening the restaurant every night. Tina rubs it in with Dave as she takes Kim's clothes away. She tells him that Kim is so happy to be back at Home Farm and gives him the baby scan photo she has found. Dave won't accept that Kim has left him of her own accord.

Kathy has second thoughts about calling in on Dave. Mandy is still holding Zak, Butch and Sam to ransom. They will be charged £2 for full English breakfast until she gets her van full of catering equipment. Butch is preoccupied with thinking of a name for his pig. He wants to call it Mandy Rose but Mandy puts a stop to that. Roy is still fobbing his parents off about his exams. Linda is trying to learn her highway code. She still hasn't taken to Susie and is getting annoyed because hairdressing calls come through on the surgery phone. Kim is put out to find that Nurse Bell is accompanying her on a shopping trip. Frank has reinstated her company credit cards.

Zak, Butch and Sam try and make it up to Mandy by presenting her with breakfast. She refuses their peace offering. Roy is still working for Ned instead of revising. Jan asks Ned to call in on Dave when he finishes at Emmerdale Farm. She wants him to know that the family are still supporting him. Terry overhears Eric telling Vic that Jan is desperate for cash. Kim wants to move out of the attic rooms as she claims that climbing the stairs cannot be good for her blood pressure. She also wants Frank to pay Dave some money so that he can make a fresh start elsewhere. Frank thinks that that is a good idea and agrees to £10,000. Kim wants to write the cheque herself though. Susie warns Linda to watch her step where her job is concerned. Frank wants Kim to move into the nursery flat where Nick once lived. He asks Biff to deliver the cheque to Dave.

Frank and Chris assess the damage Dave has done to the nursery flat door. Chris wants to know what is going on, but Frank makes it clear that he is not going to tell him. He mentions to Kim that Chris wants to call the police, just wanting to see her reaction and to let her know that he is aware that she has already broken the agreement. Linda notices that the lock has been smashed on Zoe's storeroom door. Frank is determined that Kim will never be allowed to forget what she has done to him. He tells Tina that he now has a reason to carry on - the baby. He spots Kim setting off for the village on her own and sends for Nurse Bell. Butch is getting ready to bury the animals that were in the freezer. Mandy tells them to take it back because she is not going to use it even after Zak disinfects it. Susie finds it amusing when Zoe tells her that Mrs Henshaw's guinea pigs were in the freezer waiting to be buried. Chris starts on Kim. She reminds him that she is having Frank's heir. The Woolpack till is down again.

Zak is busy dismembering the cow while Mandy is trying to think of somewhere that she can store all the beef. Susie tries to encourage Betty to join an aerobics class she is planning in the village hall as she is fully qualified. Zoe cannot believe it when she sees that her freezer is back - minus the animal carcasses. Linda has noticed the damage on her car and managed to get the truth out of Roy about what happened. Ned suspects something as well. Roy tells him that he has no intention of being a farmer as he wants a suit job and to travel abroad. Chris is unpleasant to Susie when she asks Rachel to help her organise aerobics in the village hall. Eric's alterations are causing a disturbance in the tearoom. Kim wants to go shopping on her own, but Frank makes sure that Tina accompanies her. He tells her that there will be plenty of time later for her to be on her own.

Alan protests about the neon sign. Kathy is also furious as Eric did not consult her about the sign or the name change. Betty gives her opinion as well. Ned is sheep dipping while Jack goes on about the cow. Ned feels guilty. Mandy puts a pinny on Zak and makes him help her make burgers. He has actually bought her a freezer from an auction and wants to see some cash. She tells him that the freezer is an investment for all the family. Butch arrives at Home Farm and asks Tina if he can use the photocopier. She tells him no. Terry is still marking notes for the till. Alan is busy ringing the planning department to enquire about Eric's sign. Butch uses the photocopier in the post office. The Glovers bring Roy back down to earth when he starts to fantasize about his role at the holiday village. Ned wants Jan to set up her stall again, but on a busier road. They seem to have decided not to worry about having another child. Lisa arrives back from Ireland having delivered Sam safely to Nellie. Kim leaves hospital and James. Chris apologises to Steve for letting off steam about Rachel. They are waiting for a colleague of Steve's so that they can begin their business lunch. Steve's colleague turns up with Faye. He wants to discuss the quarry project with Chris, but is worried about local reaction and protest. He wants to hear Chris's plans. Seth and Biff find a badger sett close to the new road development. The nurse finds baby James alone in the hospital room. Zak informs Lisa about the band rehearsal that evening. Seth informs Frank about the badger sett and tells him that it is against the law to disturb the sett.

It is Ned and Jan's silver wedding anniversary. Linda brings them a card and reminds them that Dave will pick them up at 7 o'clock tonight. They hear the sound of drums coming from Wishing Well Cottage yet again. Even Butch is fed up of it. It is his first day working for Eric. Tina is hurt when Frank gives her a roasting for no particular reason. He suspects that she may have tipped Dave off about Kim's labour and resents it when she accuses Chris of being two faced. He reminds her of her place at Home Farm. Faye desperately wants Steve to make a big stand and ask her to stay on in Emmerdale. He does not want to stand in the way of her career. Butch is late on his first day. He has a long list of things that he does not do - answer phones, make tea, lift heavy things - all the things that Eric had in mind. Roy turns up to move Eric's stuff out of the way for the anniversary party.

Biff's face is a mess after the fight with the quarry workers. Linda does not want him to go into work, but he reminds her that they have got a wedding to pay for. Zoe receives a letter from Kim's solicitors about Valentine's treatment. Rachel broaches the subject of her going to work full-time for Steve with Chris. She is surprised when he thinks that it is a good idea. Tom has a black eye from the fight as well. Frank tells Charles Miller that he wants the quarry workers who were responsible for the fight to be sacked and their details giving to the police. He also reminds Kim that James is coming home from hospital today. She shows little interest. Tina informs him that the nursery is ready. Butch is boring Eric with his ambitions - he wanted to be a fireman when he was younger. Eric tries to con him into thinking that he has to pay off Sam's debts. Butch doesn't fall for it.

Frank is looking over a derelict farmhouse which he is proposing to sell to Jack and Sarah. Rachel drops Joseph off with Sarah on her first day at work. She tells Jack that Frank has not changed his mind about the quarry. They wonder why he is so keen to make even more money. Zoe finds that Melanie has stayed the night with Susie. She is appalled and treats Susie like a child in front of Melanie. Betty arrives and is intrigued. Butch is getting his uniform today. He is excited. The Dingles receive a postcard from Sam. They know that it is from Sam because it just has a cross on it. They all miss him. Susie says goodbye to Melanie. They agree to see each other again. Tina and Sophie admire James. Sophie asks Kim about James' routine, but she has no interest in him at all. Rachel arrives for work and is surprised to see that Steve is just going out with Charlie Miller, Frank's quarry manager.

Rachel asks Sarah if she has had any luck persuading Jack to accept Frank's offer. Sarah is not surprised that Jack is clinging to his roots and wants to continue the fight. Rachel suggests that the campaign must now get help from people who have done this sort of thing before - Newbury, Twyford Down etc. She has friends from university that she can contact. Zoe is irritable and is not in the mood for teasing from Linda and Betty. She tells Betty that Susie has gone away for a few days. Marlon is tucking into a hearty breakfast made by Mandy. Zak is resentful when she refuses to make anything for him. Butch comes downstairs in his full security uniform. Zak is actually planning to go and look over the site where the old coins and bones have been found. Marlon reminds Butch that it is his job to stop anyone getting on the site and it looks like his first customer will be his father.

It is Sunday morning. A group of people drive through the village in a caravanette. Meanwhile, all the security men are being put through their paces by Marlon at Wishing Well Cottage as he teaches them self-defense. Zak makes fun of them and ends up being attacked by Marlon. The protesters survey the quarry site. Sarah and Rachel introduce themselves and offer Emmerdale Farm as their base. Kim seems in a chirpy mood. She is actually nice to Chris and holds James. Sophie thinks that her maternal instincts are starting to show at last. Chris is cynical. Dave calls at Holdgate Farm and asks for his exam certificates as he is planning to apply for a job. He finds out that the Glovers are going to the blessing. Marlon challenges Zak to a run with the loser buying the pies and pints at The Woolpack. Dave is looking for his certificates in the sideboard when he comes across some knitting that Jan has obviously done for James.

Zak is enjoying his new found employment, especially as it involves little work today. Frank thought it best if worked stopped on the quarry for a day, out of respect for Betty. Acky feels proud that he was the one who put Betty in hospital. Zak warns him that Betty is a popular figure, so he better watch out. Betty is still unconscious. Seth and Biff are by her bedside. Rachel has stayed at Emmerdale Farm. She wonders whether Tina has stayed the night with Steve. Sarah thinks that Rachel should warn Steve about Tina, but she intends to keep out of it. They are busy making sandwiches for the protesters. Tina plays hard to get with Steve, but they have obviously had a good night. She arranges to meet him later. He listens to a message on his answerphone from Sarah saying that Rachel is not well enough to come in to work today. Alan has a dilemma - whether to ban the security men from The Woolpack.

Emmerdale Farm is buzzing as the protesters use it as their base. Ned moans about them because they have left gates open. Linda is talking excitedly about the wedding preparations, but Biff has to tell her that they may have to postpone the wedding as Frank has given him a months notice. That also means that they lose their house. Linda is determined that Frank will not get away with this. Viv and Terry are worrying that Tom saw them on their illicit day out together. He comes into the shop at that moment and asks them to go to the next protest meeting, but they both refuse. Kelly asks Tom to give her a lift to work. Seth is appalled that Frank has sacked Biff. Biff is worried that he will never get another job in the area once Frank spreads the word. Frank is warning Chris to sort Rachel out before she gets out of control like Kim and costs him in a fortune in a divorce settlement.

Ned is surprised that Jack has accepted Frank's offer, but Jack tells him that he has changed his mind as Frank has lowered the offer by £30,000. He is not prepared to compromise. Sarah warns him that Frank may lower it further. Biff is posting off his job applications. He tells Seth that he is prepared to move down South if necessary. Seth doesn't know how Betty will react when she finds out that the wedding has been postponed and Biff and Linda may be moving. Chris is talking to Frank about Biff. He persuades Frank to put him on a short term contract - a sort of probationary period. Frank likes the idea as it makes him look considerate, but at the same time he can sack Biff when he wants. Chris just wants power over Linda. Frank has put his offer for Emmerdale Farm in writing and asks Chris to deliver it.

The explosion at the quarry site was caused by a stray petrol can left by the Dingles. Butch has a couple of scratches. Frank arrives and Zak tells Butch and Marlon to leave all the talking to him. Marlon completely ignores him and proceeds to tell Frank that the damage was caused by a petrol bomb thrown by one of Jack's protesters. Charles wants to get the police involved, but Frank decides to deal with this personally. Rachel calls at Keepers Cottage. She gives Seth Joseph's old baby monitors to save him running up and down the steps all day. He immediately wonders if the range is long enough for them to work from The Woolpack. Alice refuses to let Dave take her to school. Kathy has to go instead. Rachel arrives for work. She apologises to Steve about yesterday, but immediately starts to interfere in his life again when she sees how close he and Tina are becoming.

Chris is smugly telling Frank how Annie has forced Jack into selling Emmerdale Farm. He claims that he is only looking after Joseph's interests, but really he wants to impress his father. They meet Kim and Sophie who are out with James. Frank is not taken in by Kim's newly found maternal instincts. He doesn't think it will last. Tom is helping Betty get to her new position on the sofa. She and Seth are sniping at each other. Sarah has driven Annie to her cottage in the village. She gives Dave verbal notice to quit as she is selling up. Marlon is cracking the whip at Wishing Well Cottage. Zak has pinched Butch's socks. Jack surveys his land. He is very depressed after telling Robert that he is selling up. He is surprised by a visitor, Mr Barker, who tells him that he does not work for Tate Holdings, but has a proposition for him. Dave tells Kathy that he is going to be homeless soon.

Another tree is felled as the protesters leave the site. Karen and Mandy nearly come to blows as Mandy learns that she poisoned the protesters through not cooking the kidney beans properly that she put in her veggie burgers. She tells a smug Marlon that at least she got rid of the tree people. Robert is ignoring his parents. Sarah wants to get started on an inventory of the farm for the dispersal sale. Jack turns on her because he thinks that she is being insensitive. She doesn't realise how much the farm and the land all mean to him. Kelly tells Tom that she is having trouble with her English homework. Vic and Viv disapprove of Kelly calling Tom by his Christian name. Tina finds out that Steve is the anonymous person who has bought Emmerdale Farm. Jack apologises to Sarah for his behaviour. Mr Barker arrives with all the sale papers. Rachel goes to the quarry site where she is dismissed by Zak and Marlon.

Ned, Jack and Sarah clean out the bunkhouse following the departure of the protesters. They have left it in quite a state. Sarah wants to start looking for somewhere new to live so that they can begin their new life. Kelly finds Vic looking for a video under the shop counter. Kathy is cool with Dave as she has taken his refusal to give her an answer about marriage as a sign that he does not really love her. Chris tells Rachel that he wants her back. She is blunt with him - they are separated and should leave all the talking to their solicitors. Chris gets nasty and virtually tells her that she will not get a penny out of him if they split. She walks off. Viv is doing a scratchcard. Vic insists that if he won the lottery, he would give her half his winnings. Viv doesn't feel the same. Steve comes in for some cans and the papers. He is planning a lazy Saturday. Vic shows him Rachel's picture in the paper.

Jack and Sarah are going to look at properties. Viv feels humiliated by Vic. They ask Tom's opinion about the joke when he comes in to arrange Kelly's private lesson. He says that he thought it was funny "in an immature way" and then feels embarrassed by his boldness. Mandy was planning to make the portacabin into a passion palace with subdued lighting, but Marlon has claimed it. Butch resents this as well and wants Zak to start exerting his authority over Marlon. Kathy and Dave are in a playful mood. She wants to keep their plans a secret, even from the Jan and Ned. Sophie feels caught in the middle of Frank and Kim when Kim tells her to ignore Frank's instructions about James. Chris is sarcastic to Kim until he opens his mail and discovers that Rachel is suing him for divorce. Kim laughs. Jack and Sarah have looked round a nearby farm but it is far too expensive.

Jack and Sarah are showing Ned and Robert around the new farm. It is just a shell, but Sarah can see the potential. Frank is slightly embarrassed by his behaviour towards Tina. She just wants to carry on as normal though and he agrees. Chris meanly tells Sophie that Kim's bonding with James is all an act; "the only human emotion Kim has ever displayed is avarice". He then invites Sophie to dinner so that he can tell her all about Kim. She is too wise to him though and does not want to get involved in his marriage problems. Steve and Rachel agree to be just good friends, especially when Betty starts buzzing round talking about what a state Tina has left the bedroom in. Steve is embarrassed. Scott has sent the Windsors a postcard telling them that he is due on leave soon.

It is the day of the Sugdens dispersal sale. Ned tries to cheer Jack up but he is immediately depressed though when Chris turns up to gloat. Dave is trying to get ready for his wedding. Jan calls round and he has to lie to her; he says that he is going to an interview in Knaresborough. Seth and Biff move the village hall piano into the tearoom under Betty's watchful eye. She finds a little joke between herself and Seth hilarious. Kathy tries to sneak out. Betty stops her and hands her a carnation. She has obviously realised what she is going off to do and there is a tender moment between them. In the Dingles shop, Zak is not happy in his role as Santa. A stranger appears in the shop. Marlon is rude to him, but then finds out that he is actually the owner of the shop. He goes off to get the police. The dispersal sale is about to start. Chris is winding Jack up but Jack finally snaps and grabs Chris by the collar.

Vic explodes with rage and drags Terry from the house. Viv and the children scream. Biff has told Linda about Dave and Kathy's marriage. She is annoyed because he has got married before her. She also thinks that her mum is going to be hurt that he kept it a secret. Kelly runs into the Woolpack crying that her dad is killing Terry. Jack goes outside to help. Vic is laying into Terry and telling everyone what has been going on between his wife and Terry. Kelly is hysterical. Jack and Alan pull them apart. Betty and Seth come out to see what all the comotion is about. Betty takes the girls off to look after them and Terry is dragged off by Alan. Kathy and Dave are still enjoying their wedding night. She insists that they go round and tell the rest of the Glovers before they hear the news from someone else.

Viv comes downstairs in tears. It is Kelly's 16th birthday today and she is upset as the reality of the situation hits her. She apologises to Alan for everything and offers to pay for the broken window. Tina tells Mandy that she shouldn't worry about the fact that Dave has got married and she should look upon Dave as a challenge now. Vic gives Kelly her birthday present and she starts to cry. She is being harsh towards Viv. Vic is actually quite loyal to Viv and assures the girls that Viv still loves them. He even hopes that they can sort things out between them. Tina tries to talk to Steve about Frank hassling her. He is not sympathetic and is more concerned about the fact that owning Emmerdale Farm is costing him a fortune. He has come up to Home Farm to persuade Frank to buy it. Dave has decorated the tearoom for the wedding tea. Kathy is going to talk to Jack and Sarah about buying Annie's cottage.

Kim is very upset by the news of Dave's marriage to Kathy. Frank rubs it in further when he tells Kim that they have both been invited to Biff and Linda's wedding. Tina is in no hurry to get to work. She has had enough of Frank's harassment and confides in Mandy that she met people at the conference who mentioned job offers if she was ever interested. She is going to investigate. Mandy tells Zak about Tina's plans as soon as she has left. He reacts angrily and doesn't believe her. Ned gives Jack and Sarah their wedding invitation - a Christmas wedding. They are both panicking because the builder has delayed starting work on the new farm and it looks like they could be spending Christmas in a caravan. Ned asks them about Andy coming to stay. He has been in trouble with his foster family and is now in a home. Eric is showing Dave the workings of the wine bar.

The Dingles re-group in their effort to ensure that theirs is truly a festive season.Alice causes a scare for Kathy and David. While Terry is shocked by Viv's plans for the future.

Terry has to face up to some difficult decisions. Frank discovers and defeats the man who tried to cheat him. While Tina tells Steve exactly what she thinks of him.

Tina gets a surprisingly generous present from Frank. The Dingles desert Ashley, who's left to face the police alone, while Kim gives Dave a final ultimatum.

It is the morning of the wedding. Kim calls round to see Seth. He is staying with Biff who is nursing a hangover. Kim confides in Seth that she is planning to take James and leave Emmerdale. She gives him a bottle of whisky to say goodbye and thank you for his friendship. Tina is determined to put a stop to Frank's attempts to buy her affection. Mandy can't understand her. Linda is nervous as she contemplates her forthcoming marriage. Zoe arrives and gives her a brooch which belonged to her mother. She tells Linda that as she will never have children to pass it on to, she wants Linda to have it. Linda is touched. She asks Zoe if she can talk to her. Biff is terribly hungover. This is made worse by Seth's herbal hangover cure. Seth forces him to drink it and then tells him that Kim is leaving with the baby. Biff thinks that this is good news until Seth says that he thinks Dave might be going as well. Dave seems preoccupied as Kathy brings him breakfast in bed.

Everyone is leaving the wedding reception to go to the Woolpack. Roy has found a girl to snog. Kathy apologises to Jan for her secret wedding. An ambulance races past the wedding party, but no one realises that Dave is inside. Kim is willing him to live. Biff and Linda check into their honeymoon hotel (they smile at each other as Biff calls them Mr and Mrs Fowler). Ned is buying everyone drinks in the pub. The Dingles manage to wangle one as well. Butch takes the opportunity to try and convince Zoe that she has no need to be a lesbian when he is around. She tells him that a "rabid dog" holds more charm for her. The police arrive at the pub and inform the Glovers of Dave's accident. They are all puzzled as to why Dave was at Home Farm. The policewoman cannot tell them. Dave is taken straight to the burns unit. Kim wants to go with him, but she requires treatment as well.

Mandy overhears Betty talking about someone's death in the Post Office. She collapses when she hears that it is Dave (her hero). Betty tries to comfort her, but she is hysterical. Tom asks Vic if he is going to the New Year party at the wine bar tonight. He isn't, but Kelly is interested. Betty offers to take her.
