It's been a really long time since I've cried while watching this show. So many tears were shed for so many reasons (good and bad) making the wait for the Christmas special even more excruciating than usual.
Amazing performances by all especially Capaldi and Mackie.
I absolutely love tragedies. The last two episodes of this season were truly great. Nothing like seeing the tragedy that befell the doctor, Bill, and Missy. American TV could not pull off something like this, thanks BBC, and I'm not talking about a male body part.
Nope just nope, worst season ever, new actors are okay, acting is decent, script? Bad, just plain bad, lets make up this girl come magically and save and finish the story. What the hell was that ending? The whole season was just tasteless. Worst, season, ever!
(i kinda was hoping nardole to turn up to be missy's new regeneration.)
a bad finale to a bad season what would we expect... are we done with bill good? didnt like her at all, couldnt understand her half of the time. srsly let the heather girl come back and poof all is well again? wtf is up with that, its so DW unworthy. really liked master & missy and that ending is kinda poetic but still hope missy isnt really gone cause i loved her... also moffat stealing the BEST regeneration line ever from David Tennant is unforgivable!!! I mean you can't have capaldi say i dont want to go as well that is just freaking lame!!! And not having him regenerate and then have the 1st doctor show up is just trying to give fans a little bit of something nice after a lot of bad writing...ofc i will watch the xmas ep but srsly can we get some good writers back? This whole season was bad, you cant keep on giving this man credit for the only awesome ep he has written...dont blink was amazing i will never take that from him...but since that one it has gone down hill
First impression: wow, some great ideas and quotes. Save this for when you can pay attention and have a good picture. I need to watch it again as it felt a bit muddled watching it on iPlayer which had a poor picture at the time. I liked the classic call backs. I didn't like a particular approx 5 minute Deus Ex Machina scene that I felt should have been left on the cutting room floor.
Doctor to Bill [and, later, vice versa]: "Where there's tears there's hope."
Reminds me of something I learned some time ago: how to pass through the eye of a needle. It's become one of my core beliefs.
And, gummy bears! For me that's been since Doctor Tom Baker!
In the beginning of the season i said i was growing tired of doctor who, and maybe i should take a break. Well that didn't happen and i binged the season. Overall, it's one of the weakest seasons, but i enjoyed it enough to keep watching.
I liked Nardole and Bill as companions, but they're probably my least favorite.
I don't like at the end the doctor only temporarily stopped them, and the cybermen will soon repair and convert Nardole and all those people.
The cybermen in the episode weren't particularly interesting. It was mostly about Bill being one, and it was explored decently. Season 2 still remains the best version and exploration of the cybermen.
Missy should have had a better ending, and i would have liked to see her stand with the doctor. Because the doctor never knew either that she would have stood with him.
Sudden appearance of the puddle girl? EH? No. That's just bad. Random and bad. But okay, at least Bill can survive well. Though now it's another companion, the second companion in a row that gets immortality and can travel the universe. It's so fanfiction-y.
Stupid.
The pilot can fly the tardis. Why is everyone flying the tardis? It's annoying.
The pilot saving Bill and the doctor undercuts all the emotion and weight of events.
I loved the ego echoing of 10's comments of not wanting to go.
Look at the sheer EGO and SELFISHNESS of 12 not wanting to change.
Maybe if he had his memories of Clara he'd be a lot more willing to change.
I understand his desire to survive, to stay alive, and the grief and trauma and guilt of continuously changing, but this is more ego shown than 10, and here 12 is even worse. At least 10 gave into it at the end.
" Like sewage, smart phones, and Donald Trump, some things are just inevitable."
And thus ends the line of real doctors. Now the SJW replacement await us. Guess the cybermen actually won .
Yuk. What the hell happened to Dr. Who? What was the budget for the Cybermen, $40.00 each?
Teased twice with a new doctor/regeneration, do it already and get rid of Peter Capaldi. The companion this season was twofer, Black and lesbian, and then you slip in gender fluid, enough already, you already destroyed Torchwood, the gays have that one now, leave Dr. Who out of it.
What a finale !
I really liked Bill at start, but she's not like the other girls.
This season was good.
Great Episode Peter Capaldi was Awesome ,Yet this episode cannot top Heaven sent ,
I didn't like Bill and she didn't seem that much interesting as other companions
They Broke the 4th wall a lot in these last episodes
Last time was when Missy mentioned the sentence literally "Doctor Who"
This episode had a lot of mentions to great moments of old episodes in the Show(2005)
Can't wait for christmas (Peter Capaldi will be missed)
Did the doctor truly save the day once this season? It seems that others have always thought of the solution, or saved the day (sometimes directly against his wishes) which makes all his talk about being the smartest in the room so arrogant. There could have been a better end for Bill than this almost magic end. Least it could have been a post credit or web scene rather than stuff up the flow. When Bill was restored why didn't she at least ask if the Dr could be restored? So many things to deal with in this episode (2 masters, 2 doctors, cybermen, a disaster, 2 cities, and the loss and restoration of a companion) and so much more could have be explored. sometimes less is more.
I have never felt so conflicted about a season of NuWho. There was so much hinted at the start and during the season that didn't really develop.
Generally like other episodes I felt this one had some really great lines, interesting ideas and better attempts at Science Fiction. However I felt too much was crammed in and for a longer episode its a pity more restraint wasn't shown. Previous episodes and seasons have been over explained but this episode and season sometimes under explained. This means that characters emotions and thinking isn't explored either. I like all the other NuWho regeneration episodes and seasons better however I respect this one more than most for trying and being different.
While I think this season was a bit uneven (still enjoyed it overall though), this two-parter was truly something else. Spectacular performances, I'm going to miss Peter Capaldi so much.
David Bradley is William Hartnell's clone. I'm looking forward to this so, so much. Regardless of whether the next Doctor is male, female, or hell, not even "human looking"... all I hope is that it's THE Doctor as much as Capaldi and his predecessors were. Bring on Christmas!
Oh, and I refuse to believe that was the last we saw of Missy/The Master, of course.
For a second, I thought he was gonna say every pre-regeneration line from all the reboot doctors. Well...
Let's see what the christmas special has in store for us.
Michelle and John were the best thing in this season. "Lady version", "my companions: exhibition and comic relief" lol so worthy.
I have to be honest, this wasn't one of those season finales that made me cry, I really liked Bill at start, but well, something just felt missing here.

A nice ending to an otherwise uneven season. The christmas special can't get here fast enough.
The Good:
1) Bill's agonizing realization of what she's become.
2) The Doctor's confession to Missie & The Master
3) Missie & The Master at the lift
4) "I'm THE doctor..."
The Bad
1) The resolution of Bill's story. Felt like a Dues Ex Machina rather than clever storytelling
2) The out-of-order intro. It's lazy writing IMO.
