Actually been really enjoying this season so far. Probably the most since season 2
The final scene (continuing from the first scene) is just beautiful. Camry going down to see the sunset on Mikey’s birthday, whilst the wonderful “Oh My Heart” plays by R.E.M.
“This place needs to me here to start. This place is the beat of my heart”
Great little watch. Socha deserves to go absolutely meteoric off this if he wants to. Loved all the king gloopy scenes and that specific middle-of-the-country natter that only Shane Meadows can possibly capture. Stunnin
I love David & Grace and their high school-like romance, they’re so real
Sad it’s come to this but I can’t wait to wrap this show up now
Surprised to see such a low rating for this show, granted I’m only one episode in at the time of writing, but seems decent to me. Bit of a Banshees Of Inisherin vibe for me so far
Lloyd used to be this wise ass old man and now he’s throwing his toys of the pram because a girl 30 years younger than him has gone for someone else. And he’s resorted to STABBING :skull: pathetic
That was so harrowing throughout. The multiple camera angles added to the sense of dread I feel
In Marcus’ episode Will Poulter’s character said he thought he was the best until he started working with someone at some restaurant who was way better than him, and so kept as close to him as he could in order to learn from him. This was probably Carmy, having seen that framed photo of him and Will Poulter’s character on this restaurant Richie’s at
Marcus’ character doesn’t particularly interest me, but really enjoyed his interactions with Will Poulter’s character. The realness of the latter’s acting and dialogue in particular really go a long way
So glad Walker’s back !
There were like one million problems with this film but for some reason one of the most egregious was: why did Jonah Hill’s character have a podcast? And then why was it not his actual job? And then why did he leave the job to do the podcast? So was he a podcaster or not? Why not just make him a podcaster? Or not make him a podcaster? Why did podcasts have as much involvement in this film as they did?
Time to experience the greatest TV show of all time all over again. Long overdue
This show just never seems to go anywhere idk
I liked the finale, ignoring whatever the hell that musical bit was, but Season 3 on the whole has been a massive drop off from the previous two. Longer drawn-out episodes, spending too much time with characters you care little about, bad corny jokes and writing. Not a good season, but it was tied up nicely I think.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think June and Nick met after the prison??
I can’t quite but my finger on it, but there is something missing in this show for me
The second season started like a house on fire with the opening episode. But the overall quality and my investment in the storyline has already dropped significantly since. The 13-episode season format hinders this show massively, way more than it did Daredevil, for example. These building episodes are sooo slow, and I felt the same for season one. I find myself switching off at times and then rewinding it back thinking I’ve missed something before realising it’s just long drawn out dialogue that I could’ve even done without.
Also, Russo’s face should obviously be more wrecked up then it is. And the whole walking around a psych ward with a creepy mask on I can’t buy.
• The casting of young Rip is perfect. Wow looks the spit of him
• Lloyd still rocking that horseshoe tache way back when
• That horse skidding thing went on FOREVER. Can we move on?
• It seems I’m late to this train but; I hate Beth
• Yeah, John’s terrifying
Quite liked the episode in general, the whole Rip/Walker beef and Rip/Kayce beef is good stuff but that last scene is so dumb lol
Don’t quite see the hype yet but an enjoyable introductory season overall. Really like Rip’s character and Walker interests me too and you can definitely sense some tension brewing between the two. The chemistry between the latter and Beth will only stir things up. Kayce’s arc lost momentum towards the end of the season but coming back to the ranch is a big moment for him. Jamie I don’t really care for at the moment. Onto season 2!
Regained some hope in the show when I learnt they were bringing Maddison back but season 7 was boring as hell. Something didn’t feel right about this season’s opener either, lazy writing idk. Really really hope they can salvage this show but Alicia’s absence, Strand character’s many misdirections and this PADRE storyline doesn’t fill me with much faith.
Now we’re getting somewhere...
Walker seems kinda cool I like the guy from what we’ve seen of him so far. Rip’s fuckin nails. And Poor Monica!
Gathering steam now, excited to see how the opening season ends
“The more they feel the less they think”
Jamie actually kinda looks like Jake gyllenhaal
Ah Tate’s a cute kid... turns out he’s also a fuckin badass!
Let’s give this a whirl then!
Besides how beautifully shot it is, the opening episode didn’t blow me away. 90-minute piIots are a chore and shouldn’t be a thing but I guess in this case it’s tolerable given the amount of background context they have to present to you, particularly to a western novice like me. As I anticipated, it was a really slow character-building introduction that didn’t really get interesting to me until the last 20 minutes or so. Definitely did enough to keep me around though. Kayce by far the standout character for me so far
Haven’t been feeling Season 3 up to now, but this episode was so so good. Ted Lasso at its best.
