Revenge is a well written script and a great TV show!! Wonderful Finale!!
Hopefully posterity will be kinder to it than that. It is a very good, well-acted, well-written and well-filmed movie. Apparently, though, it is too subtle for many viewers.
The humanitarian situation it shows is reality. The characters may be fictional, and they may not be representative of the typical relief worker - but they aren't supposed to be. This is a story of those particular two people, and how their feelings for each other grow out of the humanitarian work they are embroiled in. There's no separating the love story from the relief efforts, because she falls in love with him because of his commitment to those efforts. It's true that, at the end in Chechnya, she is more interested in him than in the local situation, but there are two very good reasons for this: One, unlike in Ethiopia and Cambodia she was only there to find him; she wasn't involved in some relief work there, so obviously his safety was foremost in her mind. And two, and more importantly, if she managed to save him, he could have continued being the man she fell in love with; continued his courageous commitment to fight death and suffering. So, I repeat, the love story and the humanitarian subject matter of this movie cannot been separated.
And the thing about her leaving her own family; fer crying out loud, it wasn't a happy family! Her cheating husband represented, both to Angelina's character and in a wider metaphorical sense, the numbing meaninglessness of a trivial, awkward and frequently loveless domestic situation, compared to the importance of saving lives and being in the company of infinitely more inspiring people.
(And what a refreshing change to see her husband - Linus Roach - in the kind of role that so many women portray in the usual Hollywood movie, being the colorless, passive backdrop to the male hero. Gratifying to see it reversed, for once.)
The ending of the movie was unexpected, and yet, in retrospect, it couldn't have ended any other way. If the movie were serious about its subject matter - the relief efforts as well as the love story -, it required an end of that sort. The surviving daughter keeps the hope for an eventual happy end alive.
I'm saddened that so many people did not "get" the movie. Many of the criticisms leveled against it are of scenes that were meant to evoke that response, and which are addressed later in the movie. There's a development going on; the characters are growing in the course of the story, and so is the movie. Many people apparently couldn't perceive that.
BBC Interview with Angelina Jolie: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/3808501.stm
I just finished rewatching the show, and am still so sad that it was cancelled. It’s really a great show; I forgot how much I loved it! Made me rethink what people really are saying haha
One of the best shows I’ve ever watched!
Paul Spector proves that Dornan can be a respected actor and conquer the sceptics after the trashy 50 shades… . Gillian Anderson is amazing as usual. A true diva!
We need good written plots and characters, and #The Fall is a diamond!
*This is a fun show!*
I thoroughly enjoyed this show.
I saw a few episodes and I fell in love with all the characters. My best friends are gay couples and, in spite of the put downs, they do love each other. Well written, charmingly acted - it is a great show!
I have always loved Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellan. I am a great fan of their work.
They work well together and the Frances De La Tour character is a laugh riot.
*You get to exhale now, Simon*
I finally watched this and it was perfect, this is beautiful, and very necessary!
My favorite scene was by far Jennifer Garner's speech, that if you watched the movie, you probably know what i'm talking about.
There's probably just a few little things I didn't like, especially some of the classic topics and stereotypes that this genre of film usually has, but still, it's amazing.
We need more films like this. Fun, heartwarming, and just fantastic all around!!
Also, a reminder if this wasn't enough: Be yourself. Be happy. You deserve it. (At 31, I still have not had the luck to find my true love, it's sad but it's true.)
My Score: 8/10.
*Trivias*
_ +Just as the film went into production, Nick Robinson's younger brother came out as gay.
+This was the first film produced by a major Hollywood studio to feature a gay teenage protagonist.
+Keiynan Lonsdale was inspired to publicly come out through his involvement in this film.
+Jennifer Garner's "exhale" speech wasn't originally included in the film: there was just one 'parent scene', and a scene with the dad. When Jennifer became interested in the role of Emily, she asked director Greg Berlanti for a scene that has her connect with Simon, so they built it again and wrote what would become essentially the message of the movie.
+Director Greg Berlanti revealed in an interview that there were clips of the "friend group" (Simon, Leah, Abby, and Nick) that were filmed without the actors' knowledge. In order to capture the authenticity of a group of friends beyond the confines of acting, the director would sometimes tell the actors to "cut" but have the cameras keep rolling. Many of these unscripted interactions of friends just being friends (including the dancing in the car scene) made the final cut.
+Kristen Bell, Neil Patrick Harris, Matt Bomer, Tyler Oakley, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, screenwriter Martin Gero, Benj Pasek, Andrew Rannells, Joey Graceffa, Scott Hoying and Superfruit's Mitch Grassi were so moved by the film that they bought out theaters in their hometowns so it would reach as many people as possible. Jennifer Garner, Greg Berlanti and Berlanti's husband Robbie Rogers were so proud of being part of the film that they also did the same thing.
+The production code for the film was "Blue," which is the pseudonym of the person Simon E-mails.
+In Simon's bedroom, there is a copy of Becky Albertalli's (the author of "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda") second novel, "The Upside of Unrequited" on his bookshelf. "The Upside of Unrequieted" also takes place in the "Simon-verse" and revolves around Abby's cousins.
+Although the movie is titled "Love, Simon," it was actually an adaptation of the book "Simon vs. The Homosapiens Agenda." The movie originally had the same name as the book, but it was too long to say, hence the name change.
+The words "hour to hour note to note" can be seen written on Simon's wall, which is a nod to the E-mail ("[email protected]") Simon used in the book to talk to Blue. It was changed in the film to "[email protected]."
+In Simon's bedroom there is an Elliott Smith poster which is a nod to Simon's favorite musician from the book, which he shares with Blue and later connects him with Blue.
+Colton Haynes had a small role in a deleted scene as man who approaches Simon at a gay bar, mistaking him for someone else he knows, and ends up asking Simon to dance.
+Love, Simon (2018) marks the second time major studio 20th Century Fox has made a film that showcases a sympathetic portrayal of a leading homosexual character coming to terms with his orientation and ending on a happy note. The first was Making Love (1982) in 1982.
+Singer Shawn Mendes was invited to audition for the role of Simon but was allegedly unable to do so, as he did not have enough time.
+In the international trailer voice-over, Blue refers to Simon as Simon, not Jacques.
+On the DVD commentary, Greg Berlanti, Isaac Aptaker, and Isaac Klausner discuss the fact that it was surprisingly difficult to settle on the musical that Simon and some of his friends are rehearsing during much of the movie. In the source novel, the musical was Oliver!, but the producers couldn't get the rights to that. For a while, their solution was to have the screenwriters work on an original musical adaptation of the classic teen romance movie Say Anything. Some of that musical was actually written before they decided instead to go with Cabaret, which the rightsholders said was allowed as long as they didn't show the Sally Bowles character in a top hat (which would have suggested that the high school was performing the movie or revival versions of the show instead of the original 1960s stage musical). Berlanti, Aptaker, and Klausner also appreciated the resonances between Cabaret and Love, Simon--both contain closeted gay male characters coming to terms with their sexuality.
+Originally Blake Neely, the general composer for director Greg Berlanti's TV shows, was attached to score the film.
+Simon's coming out dream sequence is to Whitney Houston's "Dance With Somebody." His movie mom, Jennifer Garner, gets ready for a night out on the town to the same song in the movie "13 Going on 30."
+On Simon's bedroom door, there's a poster for the 2007 of Montreal album, "Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?"; an album about a transgender rock star. of Montreal are known for their flamboyant stage personas and frontman, Kevin Barnes, has always been misconstrued as bisexual, but that band are advocates for LGBTQ+ rights.
+It was confirmed by Becky Albertalli (author of "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda") that Alice Spier (Simon's older sister) is not present in the film.
+It was confirmed by Becky Albertalli (author of "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda") that Simon only wears glasses in flashbacks, compared to the book where he always wears glasses.
+Temple Hill Entertainment, who produced the movie, is known for adapting other young adult novels such as The Fault in Our Stars (2014) and The Maze Runner (2014).
+In the closing scene to the movie, when Simon and his friends drive off through the neighborhood, they drive by the house that was used in Life As We Know it. Life As We Know it also starred Josh Duhamel who plays Simon's dad.
+Katherine Langford and Miles Heizer previously starred together in the Netflix Original series 13 Reasons Why (2017).
+Director Greg Berlanti previously worked with Keiynan Lonsdale on The Flash (2014).
+Simon has a theatre program for "Hamilton" displayed in his bedroom next to the window.
+Love, Simon premiered at the Mardi Gras Film Festival on February 27, 2018.
+Nick Robinson and Talitha Eliana Bateman previously worked together in the young adult film The 5th Wave (2016).
+This was the second project where director Greg Berlanti and Josh Duhamel worked together. They previously worked on Life as We Know It (2010).
+In the movie, Simon has a reaccuring dream about Daniel Radcliffe, who starred as Harry Potter in the "Harry Potter" franchise. On his wall, Simon has a Hufflepuff crest. Hufflepuff was one of the four houses in "Harry Potter."
+Though the name of the high school that the main characters attend, Creekwood High, comes from the source novel, it is also reminiscent of director Greg Berlanti's first job on television: as a writer for the teen drama Dawson's Creek. Like this movie, that show also broke ground in its depiction of gay teen romance.
+Logan Miller and Jennifer Garner previously appeared together in the movie Ghost of Girlfriends Past (2009).
+It is based on the novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.
+Joshua Mikel and Logan Miller appeared on The Walking Dead (2010) together.
+Spier, Simons surname is dutch for muscle
+One of the stickers on Simon's bedroom wall is a picture of a banana. This is the cover art to the first Velvet Underground album, created by Andy Warhol (who was also that band's manager and producer when that album came out in 1967). Warhol was gay, making this an appropriate sticker for Simon's room.
+There are several little moments through the film which hint that Simon's best friend Leah (Katherine Langford) may have some undisclosed feelings for Abby (Alexandra Shipp). This is further explored in "Leah on the Offbeat", the sequel to the original book, although it isn't known if that story will be adapted into a movie.
+At one point in the film, Martin makes a joke to Abby that you would call a Black and a Jewish person "Blewish" (or, Blue-ish). This is essentially revealed to be Blue's identity in the end - he is indeed black and Jewish.
+The last cast member to be announced was Blue. Book fans spent months waiting to discover the actor who would be playing Simon's E-mail buddy. Throughout the whole of filming, no pictures were released of the actor.
+Foreshadowing: At the start of the film Nick talks about a dream he had where he had to choose between red and blue. Abby responds that he is a cross between Cristiano Ronaldo and Sigmund Freud. Of the two people Nick asks out in the film, Leah is at this point wearing blue, and Abby is wearing red. At the Halloween party, the two people who go on to ask Abby out are Nick, who is dressed as Ronaldo, and Martin, who is dressed as Freud.
+In the original book "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda," Bram reveals the inspiration for his username, Blugreen118, comes from his full name - Abraham Louis Greenfeld - and birthday (January 18th).
+Actors playing Simon and Blue have both played a character named 'Olly.' Nick Robinson as Olly in 'Everything, Everything' and Keiynan Lonsdale as Olly in 'Dance Academy'
^^Cameo^^
Robbie Rogers: Director Greg Berlanti's real life husband briefly appears as the soccer coach. _
*If you love a great romantic movie you don't want to miss this movie!*
All I can say for those of you who have not seen the movie yet.. Sandra and Keanu are fantastic together on screen. The chemistry is definitely there. This is a romantic/drama you will want to see again and again. i I have seen it a few times. I've seen "Somewhere in Time" and I think this tops that by far. Don't miss out on some truly wonderful acting. I watched "Speed" released in 1994 12 years ago, which was the last movie these two starred in to be prepared for the development I knew I would see on screen. They both proved equal to the task. I laughed, I cried and left the theater totally satisfied. It was well worth the wait. I wish these two could do more film projects....together, they definitely seem comfortable with each other.
My Score: 8/10.
**** A phenomenal animated film that has often flown under the radar...****
For years I was told that I had to see this film and I just never seemed motivated to do so. It was during the covid-19 quarantine... Finally, I got around to it and I immediately felt this film was a little different than the fare that we were seeing at the time.
It was a little edgier in some way. I was instantly hooked, I loved it.
This is a film about super heroes being forced into retirement because of a shift in public opinion. Some of the superheroes are having a hard time with their new reality. One super hero in particular (Mr.Fantastic) finds himself jumping at the chance to get back into action when called upon by a secretive source claiming a need for his services. This turns out to be a ploy to enact revenge against Mr.Fantastic. As it turns out, Mr.Fantastic's family, all of whom have super powers themselves, launches a rescue operation that evolves into a pretty wild ride.
This movie is witty, funny, edgy and fun.
The inclusion of an entire super power endowed family is a cool little aspect of this story. The actors and actress all put in fantastic voice work and the result is simply an amazing movie that has a huge cult following but never seemed to get the credit that many feel it deserves.
My Score 8/10.
*A cool story with great animation and voice acting.*
Honestly, I put off watching this because I didn't feel like I would enjoy it so much. I was proved wrong. Right from the start, the fresh animation of this film along with the brilliant editing and voice acting had me engaged. Though the plot is pretty flat and for kids, the concept is pretty new (in that it hasn't been totally overdone), dealing in robotics which allowed them to show some cool stuff. But the story being from Disney, did have moments of it being 'too easy' as well as a few stock characters but it wasn't such a big deal. The story was told well, and wasn't cheesy or boring at all. The freshness of the voices and the animation really put this film together.
The connection between the voices and animation really showed on screen the chemistry between the characters, and this worked to gain the sympathy of the viewer's at certain scenes. I thought that was well done, the characters were developed well in relation to each other. And I know I keep saying this, but I just really like the animation, and the effects. Baymax is so cute, and the other character's have a kind of Asian feel to them. It's also quite cool how the animated characters almost always resemble the actors voicing them (I guess this is intentional).
However, watching the trailer again, I notice that they miss some of the scenes out. I mean if you put it in the trailer, you've got to put it in the film! I would've liked to have seen the scene with Baymax and the soccer ball.
My Score 8/10.
*Be Immersed In Film About Real Suffering and Strength*
I just saw this movie another night with my mom, and I am a Agnostic atheism. I think that is important to mention because there will be some people who simply don't like the movie because they don't like Christian films. So here is my honest review:
This film has incredible performances by the entire cast, especially Jennifer Garner (I love :heartpulse: from Alias ) and Kylie Rogers. The film perfectly balances the story with aspects of faith. The core of this story is about a mother suffering with her daughter's pain and health. What I was not expecting was to feel as though I was a part of this story. The film immersed me in what it would be like to be going through this struggle. This movie will make you cry  in the sad moments and in the happy moments because you will feel as though this is your family. That is why this film transcends other Christian films. The moments where God is mentioned don't feel as though they are forced and preachy. Those moments are carefully woven and important to the family's journey through a terrible illness. It surpassed my expectations.
Just as he or she gave us free will, it also apparently gave us the freedom to see suffering, boys and girls in Syria crying for war, when he or she will come or the divine light to heal so much suffering in this world.
My score: 8/10.
*Meryl Streep Italian Style*
Meryl Streep is absolutely astonishing. I forgot it was her ten seconds into the film. That opening breakfast scene where all of her story is written in her magnificent face. As an Italian I know there is no acting involved here. She IS Italian. She reminded me of Anna Magnani in "Bellissima" there is not a single false note. Clint Eastwood, clearly, dedicates the film to her and the results are pure magic. The film is based on an unreadable book- at least I couldn't get through it, in spite of the brevity of the volume - the film however, is bound to become a classic thanks to the powerful chemistry of the stars. If you love film, like I do, I recommend you to see it once and let yourself be taken away by the truths in Meryl's eyes then go again and take note. Look at every one of her moments, from how she closes the refrigerator door to her laughter. Look at her reaction when she discovers that Clint stopped at Bari, her home town, just because he thought the place was pretty. Look at her hands, her walk and then go back to her eyes. It's a treat of the first order. Clint, in front as well as behind the camera, does a miraculous job. I passionately recommend it, no matter how young you are.
I 100% suggest the bridges of Madison county! It's an incredible experience watching it.
My Score: 8/10.
*Panda, Snow Leopard and Snow Monkey - oh my!*
A great documentary about 3 species of animals found China. The cinematography is just out of this world! Don't expect to learn a whole lot of new information about the Panda, Snow Leopard and the Snow Monkey. Just enjoy the opportunity to watch these animals in their natural habitat doing what they do best - live.
It's narrated in its USA release by John Krasinski ("The Office") and in its China release, actress Zhou Xun ("Suzhou River"). The entirety was filmed in unpopulated areas of China. Various Chinese wildlife were followed for a year; their misadventures and struggles culminating in this film. It was released in China August 12, 2016, and in the US April 21, 2017. To date (April 29, 2017) the film has raised approximately $15.2 million worldwide. It runs for 1 hour, 16 minutes (76 minutes) and is rated G.
My Score 8/10.
If you want to go to the movies and enjoy yourself, this is one outstanding film. Because of the serious nature much of the glamor was greatly reduced. Hank played his role almost without emotion but because of his interpersonal skills (the real Sully) this works out perfectively. The joy and the expiration of how something like this could take place was truly outstanding.
Ron Livingston became my hero in this movie. One of the most funny movies out there. No one sees this and doesnt die of laughter. The corporate world just right. Got that TPS report for me right now?
Life is cruel.
Good movie, shows a terrible reality. The theme of the movie I think is oblivion. An approach to oblivion is always difficult as it can only be experienced when it is too late. Invites us to think about the responsibility of society in the life of the elderly, it is the responsibility of everyone or only of each one's family. Ungrateful Society or the inevitable pain and forgetfulness of the end of life?
My Score 8/10.
*Very moving. I really enjoyed it!!!*
I decided to watch this movie because of William Dafoe... I've always been a fan of his performances.
This movie is very gripping from the beginning; For myself personally, I love a "real life" movie. I liked the pace and the story telling and how it would do flash backs and explain the characters.
I never knew the true story of the 1925 Serum run to Nome Until watching this.
I've heard of Balto before but never Togo. I was pleasantly surprised that this movie was almost 100% accurate to the real life events. Very enjoyable movie!!
My Score 8/10.
*Excellent series.*
+The series is well conceived. The acting is convincing and executed properly.
+The cast selection is impeccable.
+The story is easy to identify with and moves along at a nice pace.
+Its very easy to identify with these characters who portray people we have known throughout our lives.
+We love the background music which could be of that era in America. (Amazing songs)
+Even though its Spanish speaking and takes place in Spain the mixture of our music is a perfect blend.
+It fits perfectly because all those emotions common to all people are evoked.
My Score 8/10.
A Beautiful show, but cancelled too soon
The overall story is EXCELLENT. The unique idea of life and death and how one touch from Ned can bring someone back to life for only one minute or someone else dies, is wonderful! The fact that if he touches you again then you are DEAD FOREVER is frustrating for Ned and Chuck. This keeps their childlike romance alive in a sweeping romantic whirlwind. The OUTSTANDING storyboard/comics editing and STORYTELLING NARRATION gives this show a UNIQUE SENSE of FUN and PLAYFULNESS. Krysten Chenoweth steals the show.
Also, the series received critical acclaim and won numerous awards. The series received 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, with seven wins, including Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for Barry Sonnenfeld and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Kristin Chenoweth.
My Score: 8/10.
*Didn't expect this show to be so life changing!!*
I just finished watching the entire series and have to say I was pulled in from the start and found the show to be incredibly delightful in so many different ways. One minute you're laughing your ass off and the next moment you're fighting back the tears. The character development is phenomenal and the show is so well written as it portrays all sides of life: funny, sad, messy, awkward, raunchy and heart wrenching. Laura Linney's character and her brother were the anchors of the show, they both brilliantly acted their parts and had a strong unbreakable bond you don't fully recognize until the end of the series. It melts your heart. I loved the mix of characters over the course of the series, every character had relevance and depth. I honestly don't have a single bad thing to say about the show. Brilliant and this is an underlooked gem.
I highly recommend this show!:heart::heart:
My Score 9/10.
*Crew or equipment visible*
(at around 1h 18 mins)
After the hotel manager gives John a new car as a parting gift, when John leaves the premises the camera crane is reflected by the Charger's hood.
At around 13 min 10s, when John is drifting in his car on the airfield, the shadow of the camera crane is seen in the bottom left as it glides closer to his car.
*Errors in geography*
In New Jersey, when John Wick first encounters Iosef, they are both pumping their own gas. However, self-serve gas stations are banned in that state. In filming locations, it says that this gas station is in Upper Nyack in New York.
*Factual errors*
Russian Orthodox Churches do not have benches inside. When John is walking into Little Russia Church, he is actually walking into a Catholic church.
In Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga is not the Bogeyman or male at all. Baba Yaga is portrayed as a female, usually an old woman. Depending on the story, she either helps or hinders the protagonist. She's a trickster, sometimes good, sometimes malevolent.
In the beginning, when John calls Charlie after being attacked by Viggo's crew, he asks for a "dinner reservation" for 12. He actually killed 13 people.
*Incorrectly regarded as goofs*
The tattoo across John Wick's shoulders reads "Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat," which literally means "(the) strong (ones), Fortune helps", or "fortune favors the bold". This is a quote from a play by Terence, written in 161 BCE. It is often misquoted in English texts as "fortes Fortuna adiuvat", which uses the accusative plural ending -es instead of the "Republican" accusative ending -is, making some believe that the quote is misspelled. Apparently John knows a thing or two about antique playwrights.
It has been claimed that the phone call between Wick and Winston was a goof due to the smartphone screens being on. Many cellphone screens, even when in call mode, stay on for 10-15 seconds. Wick and Winston's call was only several seconds long. Also, you can clearly see on both phones the red "End Call" button which only appears in call mode.
*Revealing mistakes*
In part of the final fight, the white haired Viggo is replaced by a black haired stuntman.
When John starts breaking through the floor of his house, you can see the entire floor jump with the first swing of the sledgehammer, revealing that it is not a real concrete floor.
When John Wick is lying on the floor next to his dog, he places his hand on the dog and it is visually clear that the dog is either CGI or added in post production.
Anachronisms
When John Wick awakens to his alarm clock at 6:00am on the day of his wife's funeral, the sun is shown to not have not yet risen over the horizon. When he is awoken the following day (or possibly two days later) by his dog, also at 6:00am, there is full sunshine streaming through his bedroom window.
*My commentary*
The best way I can describe John Wick is to picture Taken but instead of Liam Neeson it's Keanu Reeves and instead of his daughter it's his dog. That's essentially the plot of the movie. John Wick (Reeves) is out to seek revenge on the people who took something he loved from him. It's a beautifully simple premise for an action movie - when action movies get convoluted, they get bad i.e. A Good Day to Die Hard. John Wick gives the viewers what they want: Awesome action, stylish stunts, kinetic chaos, and a relatable hero to tie it all together. John Wick succeeds in its simplicity.
As an action movie buff, all I wanted to see in this movie is some inventive action sequences, and I was not disappointed. Every single action sequence in this movie is fast-paced, beautifully shot, fluid, intense, and you never have trouble understanding what's going on. The direction of this film is fantastic, as is the writing. There's no melodramatic soapy story lines - everything is straight and to the point, and the point is to get to the action. Not one moment in this movie is boring. The short dialogue is effective from getting to action sequence A to sequence B without any confusion as to any character's motive. It's all laid out in front of you - all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the insanity happening on screen.
Remember when Live Free or Die Hard came out and people were upset that John McClane only fired pistols throughout the entire movie? I like a little versatility when it comes to action heroes, and evidently so do the writers. John Wick wrecks face with pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, knives, even mano-a-mano; the man can do anything. The difference between John Wick and other modern action movies (Die Hard 5 and Taken 3 for instance) is that you actually believe John Wick is killable. He's not some invincible superhero like Bruce Willis was in Die Hard 5, having his car crash and flip like a hundred times and the second it stops he gets out without a scratch and starts running. No, John Wick takes a beating in this film. Numerous times in fact. But most of the time he's kicking ass and taking names, and instead of acting as some unstoppable killing machine, he just seems like a guy who's an expert in his field. He used to be a hit-man after all.
John Wick is a blast to watch. Really, it's just a mindlessly fun action movie. It has large-scale shootouts, CQC sequences, and a classic hero-villain hand-to-hand confrontation at the end. The only negative I can say about the movie is that the villains aren't anything to write home about. They're Russian mobsters which we've seen a million times, and their leader isn't given enough to work with as far as character goes. Willam DaFoe has a brief but important role though as Wick's former colleague.
Regardless, John Wick is all about the action and it goes above and beyond in every respect. It's a breath of fresh air after all the poor sequels we've been getting, and thankfully John Wick has the potential to be the next great action franchise. An absolute must-watch for action fans.
My Score: 8/10.
*Fills you with love and warmth*
This short film tells the journey of a man's romantic relationship through the eyes of a dog.
Despite it being only six minutes long, "Feast" is remarkably informative. It tells how a man finds love, loses love and finds love again, all in the space of six minutes, with little dialog to convey the messages. The story unfolds by the type of food the dog eats, which is interesting angle and yet it is very convincing. The animated story is very sweet. It manages to touch your heart and fills you with love and warmth, which is pretty amazing for a film that is so short. I really enjoyed it.
My Score 7/10.
After watching the first episode of Rizzoli & Isles I was more than satisfied .. I've wanted to see Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon back on my t.v screen ever since Sasha left N.C.I.S and Women's Murder Club got canceled. Sasha is supposed to act the way she acts in the t.v show it is in no way bad acting she's supposed to be a bid like Brennan from Bones who's a bit detached from her emotions to say the least. People are comparing Rizzoli & Isles to Bones and it's because they have a lot in common though Rizzoli & Isles had a much better first episode than Bones did and just because this show isn't one of HBO's productions and doesn't have people fornicating on every corner doesn't make it bad. It's just something you can watch with your kids or maybe even brother or sister without feeling awkward because of what's happening on the screen and actually enjoying a show. I definitely recommend this.
The performances are heartbreaking, the story both tragic and uplifting - Amenabar has crafted yet another film that's sure to please many.
He's been bedridden for 15 years, the first time I saw this movie I was walking through my school in a philosophy class. In 2007, due to a damn medical negligence, I was almost quadriplegic, there have been moments of joy, but also of sadness, because friends do not last forever, and the years go by and one simply lives until death comes to us simply. It was very hard for me to see her again now in the company of my dear mother because she is 70 years old, and I am only 34 years old and I co-depend on her for almost everything.
One of the most suspenseful documentaries ever made, "The Cove" marries ecological espionage to a frightening domino effect of imperialism, political corruption and a socio-environmental disregard.
*Truly Exceptional.*
May I start this off by saying that I'm astonished at the extremely unfair negative, even 'mixed' reviews the film has gotten so far... The film is not even remotely close to being average, it's far, far, beyond magnificent.
By now you probably know the synopsis, so I'll add for those who haven't seen the film that it's visually stunning, the acting is superb (special mention to phenomenal newcomer Sunny Pawar, who plays 5 year old Saroo) and the story is so gripping and moving, that there wasn't a dry eye in the house when the film reached it's emotional climax.
I've been thinking about this film since I saw it, there's drama, mystery, romance, a whirlwind of emotions throughout the 2 hours - in the best way possible.

*Just awe inspiringly beautiful.*
This is a very amazing view of earth. Like I have been waiting ages to see this!
My score 8/10.
Reminds me of the best of the 1980s.*
This series really surprised me. It has been a long time since I looked forward to watching a show as much as this one every week. It reminds me of many good 80s cop or detective shows. No one has been able to equal the buddy cop or detective show formula of the 80s until now. Very well done indeed.
Last episode of Season 3 is a good finale.
My score 8/10.
*So cool.*
After seeing Casino Royale a few months ago, I realized something, there is a big re-imagining of the James Bond series. James Bond is now more serious, a little darker, and has a lot more edge. I grew up with the 007 films, my mom and I watched them together all the time, they were always a blast to watch. Now I'm grown up and Daniel Craig is the new James Bond and he is so cool and smooth, he's taken on a very charismatic Bond, he'd make Sean Connery proud. Quantum of Solace is the very first James Bond movie that is actually a sequel, it continues right where Casino Royale took off, so there is no off set when it comes to the story. The action is jam packed, I loved a lot of the action/fight scenes incredibly, but I'd say it's a notch below Casio Royale since the director didn't seem to know how to edit well in those sequences, because I don't know about you, but I couldn't tell what was going on or who was getting hit. But the story is a great continence to Casino Royale.
Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M interrogate Mr White who reveals the organization which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined. Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille, a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene, a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organization.
Quantum of Solace is completely worth the watch, it was a lot of fun, it has it's small flaws. I think the editing just could have been a little better, like I said, some scenes go so fast that you can barely keep your head on from turning side by side. Daniel Craig is a great Bond, he is still incredibly cool to watch. However, Olga Kurylenko, pretty girl, but not exactly the most interesting "Bond Girl", nothing about her really stood out to me, so I hope they'll do better the next film. However, I did enjoy Quantum of Solace, it's a great action film and an excellent addition to the Bond series.
My score: 8/10.
Not much to say here besides that this is a great show with multiple directors and writers contributing. The show ending is just unfathomable and is still shocking to me years and years later. It still is one of the shows first brought up when worst endings are discussed in a group. Everyone is disappointed and almost anyone could have written a better one.
in short ... After 6 seasons a 10-second finish in black I don't know what to say.
I would have put a 9 on it, but that's why I finally evaluated it.
My score 8/10.
