every storyline was extremely predictable and the episode itself was boring. didn’t give season finale in the least. although, with the rushed and shallow way they handled all the characters/plots this season im hardly surprised. but, since the strike shifted a lot of things media wise im going to chalk this season’s silliness up to that.
but come season 21, the writers need to remember intrigue, joy and fun. camaraderie and (measured!) drama are the draw of this show and they desperately need to write in good friendships and relationships going forward.
because these tepid takes on characters and stories we’ve seen before aren’t it and it’s getting super old.
honestly ABC should cut their losses & end it next season; let this show go out with the last dregs of its dignity. but since that won’t happen, imma need them to make it good and make it stick.
I have to get this off my chest somewhere: Lucas has to be one of the most insufferable characters to ever be on the show. The actor does him no favors with the fucking face he constantly has on and the way he delivers lines like he's dead inside. And when he does have emotional moments, I just feel like punching him in the face. I can't stand Lucas, for real. I care nothing about what's going on with him. Don't even get me started on Simone. They deserve each other, they're so annoying.
yeah, the cheesy parts were a little long for me. but they paid off. it was fun
Hollywoods latest it boy/rat boy Glen Powell really gets to shine and show his chops in this one. I went in completely blind and it was not the movie I was expecting which is a good thing.
Just an extremely solid popcorn movie.
Huh… so, I thought they would do like an ‘origins’ story for the strangers (I didn’t watch the trailers) but it’s just the original movie in another setting lmao bar for bar. Kinda get that the small town plot was to let us know those ppl are definitely involved but there was just no pay off, ugh, still, it was tense, so I’ll give it a 6. Nothing new, original is better.
It's the kind of story that has been done before but it was all hidden pretty well. It was a decent watch.
This is getting interesting plus I love Phoebe
easy horror watch
didnt hate it
just didnt think it was memorable enough to rate higher
A pretty decent slasher/thriller with a cool little twist and a beautifully designed ending. The plot was decent, some nice scares and overall, an enjoyable watch.
I don't know about you, but he threw me for a loop. I never expected something like this to happen. Good movie, definitely watch it if you like light horror and suspense.
"I like to sabotage myself, d'you know what I mean?"
I don't know too much about Amy, so I can't comment on the movie's accuracy. Putting that aside, the story is a shallow mess. It plays more like a "greatest hits" compilation than any sort of attempt to dig deeper and examine what drove this passionate and tortured person.
Marisa Abela's performance, however, is electric, and basically the only good reason to see this. Effortlessly cheeky, charismatic as hell, desperately sad, and not afraid to be unlikable at times. I was astonished to learn that all the vocals are hers as well (I was sure she was just lip-syncing to Amy's vocals). Her performance single-handedly brings a shock of life to this dud of a screenplay.
The movie is beautifuly done, but the screenplay is horrible. It’s a version approved by Amy’s father and you can tell from a distance. All people who worked with Amy talked about how she wanted help but he forced her to go on and earn more money. This is absolutely fake and one-sided story, but not Amy’s story. It’s just her father earning even more money off of her. Don’t bother watching.
It's a simple story, full of clichés, but it works well. The movie is a lot of fun, the effects are beautiful and the soundtrack is great. The story has elements of tarot and horoscopes that are interesting, but the rest of the script is very simple, nothing new, no twists, but it still manages to involve the viewer and deliver a good experience.
In a word: disappointing. They clearly spent a lot of money on the designs and filming but not enough on the script. Good concept, bad execution.
It’s not as bad as the average score suggests. Tarot is an old school horror flick with strong Final Destination vibe. It’s fun and the special effects are top notch for the horror genre. Only the story could have used somewhat better writing.
It's a well produced movie, but the story is bland. I found it difficult to pay attention halfway through.
The potential it had with the variety of different villains. The potential it had with connecting with an audience and the potential it had with genuine horror and gore. All wasted. The villains were wasted because we barely got a glimpse of them, especially with the dim lit sets. They also lost half the audience by not including them. I ended up forgetting the start by the end, which made me question life itself. The horror started off alright but immediately stooped to below average, especially with the 15 certificate. The cast was forgettable, and the script tried too hard to be gen z.
Fun movie, not the best but fun
Could have been good but isn't. They need to get rid of the "odd couple" or the "let me Google that for you" service, and the obligatory "hacker" is possibly the worst in TV history.
As generic as they come.
I was excited to see a new show, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
Every single episode:
Velma/Teddi: Hey Colter, we got a new one for you. Reward is something of tens of thousands and it's in Generic City.
Colter: Oh, Generic City? It's only 122,30 miles from me and I'll be there in 58min and 29 seconds.
Parent/Spouse/Friend/Offspring: I know Grandma was a hardcore porn addicted, but it's not like her to go missing. IT'S NOT LIKE HER.
Local police: Yeah, grandma was bat shit cray cray no worth looking any further. And get out of my city. And checking John Doe is a waste of time.
Colter: Hey John Doe, where is grandma?
John Doe: I told the cops we were dating, they didn't listen. Must have been something to do with her cock fight betting. Me and granny were in love.
Cock fight Ring Leader: Yeah, bitch owed me a couple grand, so I made her cook me chicken soup until her debt was paid. You'll never find her.
(some 15 mins of Fights, lurking, gun tossing, calls to local police, Reenie, Bobby, Tedi, Velma and Scooby Doo)
Grandma: Who are you?
Colter: Hi, Grandma, your _____ hired me to find you. You're safe now. Let's go.
Grandma: They'll never let me leave.
Colter: Follow my lead as I used to do with my dad when he showed me how to survive in the woods.
Local police: Yeah, it was good working together. You shared a lot about your dad, hope you find more, since the audience hasn't had an update since the 1st episode.
Grandma (at home): Thanks for saving me.
Colter: You should thank the person who was looking for you. (that is by far my favorite lol).
Person who hired him: (slides check like all their money isn't gone and they will eat nothing but roaches for about 2 years before recovering financially) Thank you so much.
Anybody: hey let's do something.
Colter: Nah, I don't socialize and need to brood about my dad's death, while I do jack shit to solve it.
Slightly too uninteresting and corny to be watchable unfortunately.
Why does he jog in short distances?
Why does he hold the gun like his hand is soft limb?
Could we not afford bobby this episode?
Such a waste of Stormare...
at best the show might be good for background noise. it's not exciting, it's not attention getting... I think it's getting off my list
This show has already become repetitive and boring....
omfg he is not badass and if I hear about his wack ass dad taught me how to survive shit is sooooo corny
20 minutes into the show, for the first time, I bailed. The show was so predictable and "simple minded".
2024-05-29, I have changed my opinion. Due to the constant change in locations and plots, I have resumed watching the series. When in the mood for an "easy to watch", sit back and relax, and be entertained, this series seems to work for me.
