It's so strange and breaking-the-fourth-wall-ish watching that final monologue knowing the actor who's preforming it is the one who wrote it and also the one who's been though the harrowing events in real life. I guess making the series was a healing journey? Idk.
I'm glad they took their time for the reconciliation between the brothers and I'm glad it didn't disappoint.
It's so good and so well made you'll never want to watch it again.
Genuinely surprised with how bad this first episode was. In ALL aspects. I hope the rest of the season will be better.
Awn! I wish Cassidy would be back for more episodes. Really liked her character.
This could be the first ASMR episode of a TV show. Why does everyone talk so quietly and slowly the entire time? It felt like I'm watching on 0.5 speed. The pace of everything is absolutely horrendous.
My god! This will definitely give me nightmares. VERY TRAUMATIC!
Also, Bill Hader is a jack of all trades, master of ALL OF THEM. What genius of a man. Pure talent.
Every character and actor in this movie is so alive and dynamic and then there's Emily Blunt.
YASSSSSS! Nick is back. I can't believe it. Just when I thought I was out, THEY PULL ME BACK IN! I just hope they won't ruin his character and break his spirt for the sake of creating unnecessary drama like they did with Link.
It's like the writer constructed a script out of their fortune cookie collection. I kept rolling my eyes at every other line. Seriously, who talks like that? Also, why does every move from the actors look painfully choreographed? Truly a boring, unoriginal, and RIGID waste of time.
McWidow is way too self involved. He never shuts up about his life and dead wife. Always trying to find parallels with him and Meredith. Ugh, enough. I'm not sure I like him all that much actually. And it's funny how I'm loving this rogue and brutally honest version of Deluca. LMAO. He's honestly the best. And that alzheimer's burn floored me. Bahaha. Also, love how they tried to rough up Link but he ended up looking even more attractive??? Give that sad puppy more screen time. Gah! Finally and most importantly, WHAT ARE THEY DONING TO ALEX'S CHARACTER? SURELY THEY CAN'T MAKE HIM RUN OUT ON HIS FAMILY???
How is this show even still on air?
Damn, Cisco's curls are on point this week. Anyways, I must be delirious from the lack of sleep because I actually thought this was a decent episode. Decent in how the good outweighs the bad for a change. Caitlin and Cisco team up is always fun to watch. JLM playing Ralph playing Joe was hilarious. WA was kept to a minimum, no cringe moments. Marlize and the whole "new lemon recipe" sequence was really creepy and interesting. I actually felt really bad for her. All and all, not the worst we've seen from the season.
"STEVE, YOUR CHILDREN ARE HERE!" The most accurate line that's been said on the show.
I would just ask that you take care of me. Because, uh, if dad didn't need me right now, I don't exactly know what I would be for.
The desperation in his delivery was so heartbreaking. First scene of the entire series that made me well up with tears.
Only Supernatural would bring back a character after 12 seasons/years just to kill her mid episode.
Funny, touching, incredible talent, with a really beautiful and important message. Loved every minute of it. The dynamic between the characters are gold.
There's a lot of awkward dead air in this movie. Finishing it felt like a chore. Persuasion is not that compelling of a story to begin with and this adaptation definitely didn't help. And I'm REALLY sorry, but they couldn't have chosen a worse actor to play Captain Wentworth. I almost hoped they'd do a twist and have her end up with Mr. Elliot instead. (also Henry Golding IS a 10.) The only positive thing I can think of is Dakota's english accent not being distracting.
Oh my god, Ben is just cute with everybody.
Probably the best one yet, judging it as a whole. So many great characters introduced and played by wonderful actors. Dex. Ray, Maggie and the return of Fisk truly elevated the season to another level. The quality remained consistent and engaging throughout.
Can’t remember the last time I laughed out loud at an episode. This one was pretty awesome.
You look like an asshole.
It's your scarf.
Jessica and Mathew's interactions/scenes are literally my new favorite thing in the world. They are HILARIOUS. They went a lot smoother and were written better and more entertaining than Luke and Danny's. Tried to block that shit out. And kinda hard enjoying Elektra's arc of being brought back to life when she's treated like an object though. But that end, my oh my. Really didn't think he'd figure it out from their first fight. Matt continues to break my heart this season.
Dex is trying his best but everyone is still making him feel shit about himself while they're off making their own horrible decisions. :unamused: Gotta admit, warming up to their friendship and chemistry took some time but I can safely say now that I AM ON BOARD. That high five at the cafe was the sweetest, most genuine gesture. My only issue though is you don't really feel the time passing. I know it's only been 10 years but mixing things up in their appearance would've been cool.
Why do the worst fights happen outside on the lawn? lol First Randall and Kevin, now this.
I wish we could write one word reviews, because the only thing I can think of to describe this movie is SOULLESS. Not even my love for Julia could save me from the tedious, chore-like experience of trying to finish it. Also, Tobias was an absolute miscast.
I love these people. I don't want this show to end. Sobs.
Holy shit, this episode got me good. I was a blubbering mess every time I saw Jo’s face. Really amazing and heartbreaking work from the actress, she was completely able to convey everything Jo was going through. She was the star of the episode. God, I love this show. Always dealing with really important and meaningful subjects.
Weird of them not to include "I love you but don't like you" bit in the fight. I always loved that from the book. Still, it was a GREAT fight. Enjoyed how the night slowly went from bad to worse to total chaos.
Average at best. I mean I’m glad we finally have a Fassbender film, it's been forever, but overall it was kind of a letdown. The first act was good and entertaining, but then things got repetitive and predictable and we ended up watching basically a hitman run errands.
Really enjoyed this one. Last shot of the team was awesome.
