What I expected was a comical story about a man who wrote humorous parodies of famous songs but what I got was so much more. This biography detailing the life of Weird Al told a story of triumph, the highs, lows, and troubles that one man faced pursuing his dreams or something like that.
Only seeing the trailer, I didn’t really know what the film was going to entail. I really enjoyed the first 2 acts, but the final act didn’t blow me away. There was some good camera work, a touch of humor, and some creepy atmosphere. Overall, a good film although I won’t be rushing out for repeat viewing anytime soon.
Quite a disappointing follow up to a great trilogy. I’m sure the actors and sfx team put their work in but it doesn’t save this film. The plot felt flat, the pacing uneven which led to a relatively bland and lengthy viewing experience. Maybe the next film will help redeem the series but I for one won’t be chomping at the bit for it.
Much better than any of the recent Godzilla movies that I have seen. Great destruction scenes, interesting plot, good sfx. Some of the blatant foreshadowing was unnecessary and predictable but it was a great choice for a theater viewing.
Another winner from Jordan Peele. I avoided any spoilers and it was worth it. That being said, I’m leaving this review vague.
It was good to see Keaton back as Batman. The CGI was distracting due to entire scenes from action to characters looking so animated and unrealistic. It was tolerable watch but surely wasn’t anything special.
I went to see this with friends as their movie choice and didn’t look into or hear anything about it other than the basic plot. Without looking into any controversy around it, I thought the film was good. I’m sure it’s a typical Hollywood version of a true story with stretches of truth but it was well acted.
I’m probably being a bit generous on the rating, I don’t know. The humor was hit or miss, parts I laughed out loud at and others were a bit cringey but overall it was an entertaining watch.
Not much if anything really worked for me in this film.
Easily the worst entry in the franchise. Plot line is garbage, added new rules and neglected others. Character motivations were nonsensical. I should have skipped this one altogether.
The plot is pretty much a paint by numbers of the genre but the comedy worked well and that’s really the main reason I watched the film.
There are few decent things in this film, those would be Raul, and few jokes worth a quick laugh. But in the end, this film borders on so bad it’s good but even falls short in that category. It’s mostly just a bland plot, bad acting, and features cheese ball versions of the characters from the famous game franchise. Zangief offers the best advice “Quick, change the channel.”
This was a childhood favorite. Rewatching today, I still very much enjoyed it. They don’t make horror films like they did in the 80’s. Miss those old school special effects, music, and all around fun.
Perhaps I’m a bit ignorant in my closeted life, but I feel this subject matter is a bit dated or not accurate to todays world. None of the characters really had much on screen chemistry and it all felt very generic.
Pretty average film all around. My expectations may have been a bit higher considering the cast involved but it was just ok.
The plot is rather formulaic and predictable but the film manages to find some humor and heart making it an easy but enjoyable watch.
Although much of the characters are creepers, there are some pretty funny gags. It’s not an amazing movie but I still find it pretty easy to watch with some decent amount of laughs.
I’m probably being generous with my rating but it has a good cast and I like baseball. Still get a kick out of the Coop reveal of them being little league teammates. Otherwise, this movie is pretty far from realistic. Kept thinking about how is he able to get locker room phone numbers, know all the player hangouts, finding their homes ect.
A fun sequel, very close to matching the enjoyment of the first one.
One of the best ridiculous movies out there. So many scenes from this movie live rent free in my head.
Looks like I’m in the minority on this one. It was ok, started off a bit on the cute side but it really wore its welcome out quickly with a story that didn’t pull me in.
This was a good time. The plot was confusing but the creatures, contraptions, and visuals in general sure made a fun experience.
So this movie really doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I love it anyways. Maybe it’s the nostalgia from my childhood, but I enjoy this one every time I watch it. Despite the messy plot, the creatures and characters are a lot of fun.
This is one of those movies I loved as a kid growing up in the 80’s. Still holds up well in my opinion. Great cast and fun story.
This is one of my favorites, it’s like two films in one. There is so many great lines of dialogue throughout and the cast is top notch particularly George Clooney and Harvey Keitel.
Effects are pretty good for 1989, but the plot line/story is pretty basic and tad dull. Most the misfortune can all be traced back to Miguel Ferrer’s character Snyder as he makes every bad decision possible and could be considered the films villain than the monster itself.
Aside from the visuals and some of the performances, I didn’t enjoy the film. The story did not pull at my interest and was slow moving.
My second time watching this one, hoping I would like it more this time but unfortunately it’s still just ok for me. It just doesn’t pull my attention in well.
I was bored through most of it. Won’t be making the holiday film rotation for me.
I’ve seen worse but that doesn’t make this one any good. The first segment was ok but it was all downhill from there. Mostly a bore throughout and wrapped up into a nice pointless ending. I’d recommend skipping this one.
