The visuals, scene changes, and audio were all done really well and were quite entertaining. I had a difficult time following the story and I spent a good chunk of time confused while desperately trying to connect plot points together. It’s possible that I might appreciate a second viewing more than the first having some more insight going in but who knows.
I liked this film as a kid but it didn’t age well for me. Some of the stop motion monsters and effects are still fun but the story, acting, and script were not that great.
Not a whole lot going for this one. I guess I’ve never watched a slasher film before with a javelin being the weapon of choice, but man is this lacking entertainment value. The characters are dull, the kills are quick, and everyone is oblivious that there is a killer offing people which never allows suspense to build.
Great job of building the suspense, great acting, had me anticipating how things were going to play out. Really enjoyed this viewing. Looking forward to see what this director does with an Evil Dead film.
I guess I was expecting a more interesting documentary about Ohtani than what was presented here. They sure found a way to take what I’m sure is an interesting story and made it feel quite drab.
Interesting watch, but unfortunately I’m too stupid to assemble the pieces. Maybe it’s a film for psychology major or perhaps a quantum physicist? I’m not sure of anything besides my own confusion.
Quite a disappointing follow up to a great trilogy. I’m sure the actors and sfx team put their work in but it doesn’t save this film. The plot felt flat, the pacing uneven which led to a relatively bland and lengthy viewing experience. Maybe the next film will help redeem the series but I for one won’t be chomping at the bit for it.
I was really engaged and enjoying the viewing throughout almost the entirety of the film. The footage aspect was a fresh angle, our lead played out his role well and the plot kept you guessing where it was going. For me the finale is what made me lower my rating as I was disappointed in the final 10 minutes or so for reasons I won’t get into on here since I want to keep this spoiler free.
For a movie that’s supposed to be fun, it wasn’t all that fun. I think a large part of that was due to surface level characters and bad dialogue. It’s a shame, because it looks like they went all out on the sets and scenery which were ultimately wasted on a sub par film.
Michael Keaton does a terrific job with his role but unfortunately everything is else is just ok.
This one felt a bit generic for me, decent performance to a sub standard plot.
The humor was hit or miss with me in this one. I used to watch the cassette tape often as a younger kid but the nostalgia didn’t survive the years. I think when I feel up to over the top spoofs, there are several others I would rewatch before Top Secret!.
That new villain was lame and there were enough plot holes that really didn’t help this film out.
Watched it because it was talked up on a Podcast I listen to, but it was a miss for me. Definitely not a film I would have picked on my own nor am I the target audience.
After watching the trailer, I had higher hopes this would be some cheesy fun but it didn’t turn out to be all that fun at all.
Pretty descent B movie schlock. Script is a bit weak as expected but does a good job of keeping the pace moving. Creatures and gore sfx are pretty well done considering the budget and era. Not a bad watch at all.
Another disappointing film that was over sold. The first hour is rather dull as it’s all interviews used to set the story, problem is that the story just isn’t very interesting. The finale didn't live up to the hype.
Glad I skipped this one in the theater. Wasn’t expecting much and it still managed to disappoint.
This was a fun watch. The fight scenes were great, some nice imagery throughout. The story didn’t resonate with me entirely but that’s ok.
Wasn’t impressed with the trailer, and really it shows you what to expect which is some silly over the top action with very little story or heart to go with it. But I actually had more fun watching it than I expected. I went with my teenage son who enjoyed it quite a bit, the 3D was pretty good and it was a good way to spend the evening.
I saw this once when I was young but remembered very little about it. Now after a rewatch, I feel in a couple years my memory of it will again be very little. There were some good performances but the vast majority felt long and uninteresting with quite dated sfx.
This film is very well made for its time I’m sure but in this modern era it was just too slow going for me.
Another film from my younger years revisited. Ben Stillers over the top character is what always made this film for me. Take that out and it would feel very generic.
Aside from the visuals and some of the performances, I didn’t enjoy the film. The story did not pull at my interest and was slow moving.
I think just about everyone on the planet is familiar with this film, it’s an enjoyable watch and Tom Hanks does a great job.
Despite always hearing good things about this movie, it just wasn’t for me. Everything just felt random and it just didn’t appeal to me.
It’s the gold standard for cheesy 80’s buddy cop films. Gotta love that saxophone to really ham up those dramatic moments. While not amazing, it is quite fun.
This was one of my favorite baseball themed films as a kid. It still holds up fairly well. Many of the scenes still play out just as I remember them, my toddler was enjoying the scenes of trying to retrieve the baseball from the beast.
I really liked what this film was going for but the execution didn’t land for me. Hopefully not spoiling too much, but if we are to believe that possibly millions of timelines merged with other versions of themselves, how was it that it would end up with all the same characters at this dinner party? The final shot also nagged at me because I couldn’t make sense of it. I also struggled to attach to attach to any of the characters which made it a bit harder to really invest myself into the plot. It was still a fair watch, but I can’t help but think it could have been done much better.
Not sure if it was the theater experience this time around vs watching at home but I enjoyed part 2 more than the first. Had a good story building to action balance. Great vfx and no complaints with the acting. Enjoyed it quite a lot.
