I have to say that this is a solid series from Netflix. The chemistry between Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin is pure gold, and it's what truly shines here. Their interactions are hilarious. Nothing much happens as far as the story goes, but in this instance, that's perfectly okay. There's something to be said about just giving amazing actors such as these two guys, a loose storyline to go off.

High Fidelity

I must admit, I wanted to hate this show, simply because I loved the film so much! But I was proven wrong. I think Zoe Kravitz knocks it out of the park. The supporting cast is also pretty solid as well. Definitely a fun, easy watch

A lot of powerful voices here. I really like the approach they take to educating about these important topics. They make the material approachable and easy to watch, without simplifying it.

Homecoming

This was a great series, filled with many little twists and turns. I was curious to see how Sam Esmail's unique style would translate to other projects; it does beautifully. His distinct camera work adds suspense and mystery, and certainly keeps you drawn-in, especially when paired with the perfectly-suited music. The acting is great too! Julia Roberts is as good as ever, it's great to see her on a show, so she can really develop a character. Bobby Cannavale, a carry-over from Mr. Robot, is great as Julia Robert's boss. He is a very underrated actor. I was probably impressed most by the performance of Shea Whigham, he brought a lot to a character that in other hands might be an afterthought.

Overall, great series. Have patience while watching it, it will pay off in the end.

The Good Lord Bird

Really well done and interesting, and a great look back at that era just before the Civil War. Ethan Hawke was a force as John Brown.

The Pentaverate

In terms of Mike Myers, this isn't as bad as Love Guru, but it's far from the Austin Powers/Wayne's World pinnacle. There's a few good jokes in all of the episodes. I particularly love the Jeremy Irons and Maria Menounos jokes. I think where this goes wrong is the writing. The episodes have way too many unnecessary scenes. I think another issue is that Mike Myers doesn't have to play that many characters. I'm glad to see him trying comedy again though.

WandaVision

There were aspects I really loved about this series and some I didn't like. I loved how it was shot; I was impressed by how most of the episodes paid homage to shows of the past. It was fun to appreciate. However, I wasn't hooked at all. From a perspective, I could tell it was a good series, but I was bored at times.

Deadwood

Such an amazing show! I can definitely see the hype behind the show. The world it creates is so immersive and detailed. It's one of the best "Westerns" I've ever seen. The acting is top notch. There's plenty of people who are typically character actors, but get their opportunity to shine here. Timothy Olyphant, Brad Dourif, and Ian McShane particularly stand out here. Al Swearengen happens to be one of the greatest characters ever! I highly recommend!

The Plot Against America

This was an excellent show. I think it captures the slow burn of increasing anxiety perfectly. The acting was amazing, especially the performances from Morgan Spector and Zoe Kazan. Even though they had different opinions on the same side, you couldn't help but identify with both. I do wish the show was a few episodes longer; it did seem like the last 20 minutes or so was a little rushed. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it.

I'll Be Gone in the Dark

It's a pretty good documentary series. The story of the Golden State Killer is really interesting, and might even give you nightmares. I think they might concentrate too much time on Michelle McNamara, but it's understandable because it's based on her book and research.

Trigger Warning with Killer Mike

I really liked Killer Mike and Run the Jewels music before this show, but now I love them even more! I like how unapologetic the show is, and how well-spoken Killer Mike is. He brings up some really good points, and gives some hard-hitting opinions and facts to go along with it. I do wish the show was designed to have him speak more on these issues, because not enough time is devoted to them in general. All in all, it's funny but you also learn some things along the way.

Stephen King's It

Like everyone else, this movie scared me so bad as a kid, specifically Pennywise, the clown. I decided to watch it recently, and I have to say some of it stands up well, while some stuff doesn't. The effects can be quite bad, especially at the end. The acting can be a little cheesy. The one scene that always makes me laugh is the one where Beverly starts throwing glass objects at her live-in boyfriend, but the thing that takes him down is a jar of lotion! Hilarious! Also, his slow-motion reaction is priceless.

The thing that is truly remarkable about this film is the acting of Tim Curry. You can't even identify him as Tim Curry, because he's so believable as this evil clown. The clown in the remake definitely isn't as scary. I think the scenes in the past with the kids are what stands out most, the present day actors could've been better.
