where do I add the remix of season 4!? not seeing it in search results, watching them now....SO STOKED!!!!!!
An underrated Bond film. People like to make fun of the title. Whatevs. I'll admit the script was hurt by the strike, they did what they could, it's the shortest Bond film and Craig's least successful outing. I still like it, and a revisit is always worth it for the GREAT song, and that motorcycle flip Bond does in the beginning. So badass.
If you see the poster to this movie, the R rating and the fact it's from The Hangover producers and you think oh cool, this looks like a fun time...YOURE WRONG. DO NOT SEE THIS PIECE OF SHIT. ITS NOTHING LIKE THAT. This is a Katherine Heigl type movie with the F word. Man it was terrible. Also it's not an ensemble piece. This is ALL about Mila Kunis' character. Bell and Hahn are nothing more than her new friends. I can't believe I saw this in theaters. I wouldn't even Redbox this pile of garbage. Would have walked out if I wasnt a weirdo about finishing movies. SO BAAAAAAAAD
How this was made in 2009 and not 1994 is beyond me. An absolute embarrassment. Will only get more awkward and terrible with time.
Good, good movie. Ben Foster is great...almost as great as Thomasin. Great actors the both of them. This was a small story told with so much emotion. It might look boring and is only rated PG, but it's solid. Check it out.
I love this movie so much I bought the SD on Amazon Video because its the only format i can find. PUT THIS ON BLU RAY!!!! PLEASE!!!! ITS SO GREAT!!!
It's got WTF elements to it that make it a blast but also really cool auteur decisions made with the story and shooting style and suspense building that I'm legit impressed. Love.
Expectations on this have been sky high for me. I remember where I was when this movie was announced, that's how long I've been counting the days. Sure, I have my own picky gripes about a few moments in the first hour, but once it gets cooking and that final act hits, its all bullseyes. I really really dug it. Can't wait to see again!
This season was absolutely AMAZING. I was worried for sure...no Pablo, no badass blond dude, etc. But turns out we're just fine with Pena, who more than fills the shoes in the lead. Also love the two agents who work with him. And the Cali Cartel!!! I honestly never should have watched this before trying to sleep, every single episode was so full of tension I was WIRED after every single one. Can't wait for S4!!
This movie is hilarious. Insanely underrated. Nobody saw this! But it's so great!!! I saw it in the theater last night and we were all dying. SEE THIS MOVIE!
I've never seen a Death Wish. Are they all this bonkers!?!?! Man this movie was hilarious. At times it felt like a spoof of a bad movie. Like the cuts were so sporadic and all over the place even just normal conversation was hard to follow sometimes. Hilarious! Love it!
I've seen this movie 3 times now and have a ticket purchased for Wednesday night again in the Dome. I LOVE IT. Favorite movie of the year and well on it's way to one of my faves of all time. The music wonderful, the cinematography is gorgeous, the script is hilarious and everything just keeps moving. I love every single scene. I think it has the chance to be the fourth movie ever to win Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Actress and Actor. Man, is this amazing!!!! See immediately then buy the soundtrack!!!!
UPDATE: Saw it for the 6th time yesterday at the Chinese Theater in IMAX. I. Still. Love. This. Movie. !!!!!!
UPDATE: Took my fam to see it the other night for #7. Still great!
UPDATE: Saw this last night at the Hollywood Bowl, making it my 8th time on the big screen. And I gotta say, my friend and I had an epic epic nightmare of a battle making it to the show and we were 20 minutes into movie when we got there but this movie is so special and spectacular it got us out of our funk instantly. Love it! Then I went home and watched it on blu-ray to hear the commentary man oh man I love this movie. Okay done with updates now that it's on home vid.
Dear lord I’m 40 minutes into this 80 minute movie and they’re still just doing annoying hazing shit to the pledges. Where is the killer and why hasn’t anyone died yet?! Unbearable.
Turned it off 10 min in. I’m already super annoyed at these two and can’t see how I’d enjoy watching a 4 part doc series on them.
First time I’ve ever outright disliked a Hitchcock episode. This one is the worst. Just constant, constant, CONSTANT YELLING. dumb story. Awful.
I don’t like seeing Cary grant play such a lazy good for nothin crook. He did it well and it was entertaining but it’s kinda like seeing Tom hanks play a bad guy. No thanks. Also that ending is so sad!!! She fell for his bullshit again!! It’s just gonna happen and happen and happen all over again. Scumbag!
Okay I've watched 7 episodes and I don't like this show. No choice but to see it through to the end but here are end of episode 7 and its more of the same: flashbacks to Jews being tortured, then current day to our hunters being murdered or outsmarted or arrested by the hidden nazis. I've got to get a scene of some fun payback soon or just any type of victory in the slightest. Jonah just whines and whines and whines. If it's not about Safta being a way cooler character than him, its about how he's mad he just now found out Pacino was his grandpa. Well Safta is way cooler and I wouldn't want to tell you that info myself because you just complain about it anyway. And I'm relieved that Ted got put out of his misery. He couldn't handle this role and felt like Ted playing dress up for a bit every time he talked. The fake gravely voice didn't help. This show is a nonstop bummer. Hope it changes that in the last 3 eps I got to watch.
Whoa boy. Having a hard time w this Sellers impression. A real hard time.
What. A. Snooze. Whew. Watched for WHM.
I love this movie! I don't know why its not more well known. There is an image of the character at the end that should be on a million posters and t-shirts by now. Not going to be specific so I don't have to do the spoiler thing. Watch the movie! If you like The Burning, The Final Terror, The Outing, etc, then....you've probably seen this one too. If not, please do!!!
I love this movie so much. A completely bad ass lead slashes her way through some bad guys and a few great twists. I don't understand why people have a problem with the ending. The ending is amazing!! Seriously, I don't know why Sharni Vinson isn't in a million horror films by now. Also....of course, I can't not mention the original horror icon, and my personal favorite, the one and only Barbara Crampton. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
This Todd storyline is sinking the show
I LOVED this movie so much. Jeezow was this amazing. So so mad I didn't see this in theaters! I was hooting and hollering in my apartment alone about 7 times. Whew. Loved it!
zero comments on time cop?!?! come on now. amazing.
Violence was good yeah yeah yeah....let's talk about the real matter at hand. WHAT THE HELL was that hot dog cooking method?!?! Were microwaves not invented yet?!
Holy SHIT was this amazing. And it's a real R. I wanted to clap every 15 minutes. Spectacular.
A fun, ridiculous, very very subpar Jaws ripoff. There are about 8 absolutely hysterical closeups on the whale's eye looking very menacingly at Richard Harris. So great. I am impressed with their whale footage. With the exception of the hilarious close ups on a the whale out of the water staring at boats like he's the angry chicken from Family Guy, it was very hard to tell what was the rubber whale and what was real footage. How did they do the shots of a whale angrily running into boats?
This was a really good movie and an amazing look at how much SNL looms over the entire improv world. I feel like every moment in this movie I've heard described by a comedian on a podcast. Like how new students come in hot with a catchphrase and ready to go right to the big leagues, how they watch SNL, how some perform when they know a bigwig is in the audience, etc. It was all spot on and extremely uncomfortable most of the time. Just cringeworthy. I never want to watch this movie again but I think it was very good. Does that make sense? I feel like I'm contradicting myself. This movie was better than how much I enjoyed watching it? Is that clearer? Nope. I will say the version of "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" played over the credits made me cry. That song and this movie were very powerful.
What an odd, sometimes laughable, movie, I was riding high after watching Blow Out and needed more De Palma in my life. Right from the first frame I knew this wasn't going to scratch that itch. Or maybe it did by the end?! De Palma, man. Always throwing me for a loop.
Anyway, it opens with hilarious Dracula bloody type font and then introduces what has to be the MOST hilariously awful lead actor in a major motion picture of all time. I mean this guy is the worst. What a long drop from an actor with presence like Travolts to this nobody. First off, he looks like a young Bill Maher. That has nothing to do with his acting ability but is a bit off putting. But this guy bops around like a big baby the whole movie I never wanted to root for him. He catches his wife sleeping with another man, she gives him this look like, "now what, you putz?" At that point I felt for the guy but then the rest of the movie plays out and I'm almost siding with the wife. This guy is a zero. Like he's a whiny pushover who deserves to be a pushover. Maybe that's the character but on top of that the acting choices this guy makes. Just mugging for the camera. I feel like if someone cut together a string of these "choices" it would make for one hilarious clip. Anytime he's looking into the telescope he keeps looking up and going ooh ahh and stuff. So weird.
Anyway, eventually the terrible acting grew on me in a Stockholm sort of way and actually fit the bill when the character decides to audition for a porn film and act in one so he can ask one of the stars to help him. That's right, he auditions, gets the part, and then we see a film within a film of him in this porno, pre-sex scene. We get as far as the makeout which is shot like its the most glorious makeout love sesh in the history of making out. Melanie Griffith is instantly taken. It also calls back the last time he did this, when he followed a woman all over town then saves her purse and then attacks her face with his mouth. That makeout scene was shot in such a way, with a fast camera spinning around them on a green screen I thought for sure it was a dream sequence. But nope, it was the real deal.
Okay I'm spending way too much time on this movie. Quickly....and here is where the spoilers come in. I knew the SECOND we saw a WIDE SHOT of this "Indian" that it was Gregg Henry in disguise. Maybe it's the HD or the advances in makeup since 1984, but it was clear as day. Also this movie has the unfortunate situation of Gregg Henry becoming a well known character actor who is at the very least sleazy, if not the bad guy. So when he was the buddy who got the lead this great place I was like no way there is something up with this dude. Oh and then you could tell it was him by the way he carried himself. Gregg Henry has this weird cock of the walk sort of swagger that you know its him. That was not a twist at all when the guy tore his face off to reveal him. It reminded me of Color of Night [spoilers coming for that movie] where I knew the second we saw the "guy" that it was really the girl. Instantly.
For as clear as that was, I was super confused by the other reveal, that he was the murdered lady's ex, he wanted the dude to be set up as a witness so he hired a look alike to dance like his ex wife in the window? Huh? Did not catch that. So if that really wasn't his buddies place did he also own that weird circle house? Also, is that house real?! Weird.
Watched the extended. I think Kubrick's opinion says it best..."The movie is great but it's not funny." I'm not so sure it's great, even. When u think of bits and pieces I like it but watching 2hr26min of this was tough. Was making me drowsy. I'm glad I watched it though, this has always been a desired watch for me. As a kid I would the cover at the video store and think whoa whoa whoa this has John Belushi it's gotta be good but my mom always talked me out of it saying he's barely in it. Sorry to say but she was right to avoid it.
Watched this again to confirm that I loved it. Turns out I totally do. Decided to commit to the Netflix send after watching The Guard, another Gleeson flick with this director. Between this and that, he's got a real style and mood to his films. What else has he done since The Guard? (After a quick google...) Seven Psychopaths?!?! I love that movie too! Who is this guy?! That's 3 great movies. When's his next one? Also I need to rewatch that one. Adding it to the list.
