The fact that the main stream media is telling you not to watch this movie tells you everything you need to know — it's a must watch for everyone!
I guess I'm the target audience for this movie because I think it was an absolute masterclass in producing an enjoyable action movie. Cinematography was great, the story was paced extremely well, and the casting of ALL roles was absolutely perfect.
Cruise, Pegg and Rhames were awesome as always, Whigham and Davis were great additions, but the power quartet of Ferguson, Atwell, Klementieff and Kirby, really went above and beyond in making this movie perfect. Not to mention the chilling confidence of Morales as Gabriel, who practically oozed tangible danger.
From the pre-opening credits scene to the final act, you will be on the edge of your seat - especially during any fight scene that involves Ferguson or Klementieff - and whilst there are moments that the tempo slows down to advance the story, it is always completely captivating.
The single, solitary, disappointment comes as the credits roll, and you remember you're going to have to wait until next year to see how it ends.
messy, predictable, boring, political agenda, cliche fest. was good to see Kiefer again though. for 2 episodes.
It's an objectively well made and well acted movie that I really enjoyed. The plot is well structured, fast paced, and dialog well written.
It has the moral imperative to end sex trafficking but it's not through heavy handed guilt tripping, but through telling a true story about a man who made personal sacrifices to do the right thing and courageously go into danger to be a genuine hero. I think anyone who has any sense of altruism will leave this movie inspired to take action against this truly heinous evil that is real and happening now. Go see this movie.
Quite interesting and pretty astonishing that some of these 'experts' simply avoid or can't answer this simple question, at least the dictionary has the answer..
What Is a Woman?
- An adult female person.
What Is a Female?
- A person bearing two X chromosomes in the cell nuclei and normally having a vagina, a uterus and ovaries, and developing at puberty a relatively rounded body and enlarged breasts, and retaining a beardless face; a girl or woman.
- An organism of the sex or sexual phase that normally produces egg cells.
Until the script loses its cojones and the third act turns it into just another revenge thriller, this is a tense, visually stunning, action flick that also has something serious to say about the ambiguity and futility of the War on Drugs.
As someone who actually lives in Mexico, and has a 12-men strong Policias Federales group parked just outside my office with machine guns and a freaking tank (yes, a small tank with 2 50mm turrets), and my fair amount of dead bodies seen around in Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon and Sonora, many kidnapped (and lost forever) friends, this movie is one of the best I've ever seen about the War On Drugs. The third act is too constrained, but understandable as this is a movie made for an American audience. I wonder if you guys can tell the difference between Mexico City (where most of the Mexican scenes were shot) and Ciudad Juarez or Nogales, because you can't film there at all. The situation here is worst than anybody can imagine, and I just have to look outside my window. I'm looking forward for the next movie with Del Toro's character.
This is a great documentary because it does not fall into the easy trap of being cynical mean-spirited criticism, but is rather a series of reasonable questions being posed to unreasonable people. It's fascinating how there is such a concerted effort to characterize asking questions which the gender politics community prefers not to be voiced as "transphobic". There is a concerning social development happening in the West and this is an important film and subject of inquiry. Recommended.
Edit: Trakt has hidden this and other comments on this movie. Wasn't aware this was another censorious platform. That's discouraging.
Watched again after a few years. Just upgraded his grade from 9 to 10!
This movie should be in the front trending page. for some reason is not even on the top pages.
Movie was great and sad. The acting was good, cinematographic was good and the story was excellent. Tim and his wife are people that we don't see everyday. "Not all heroes wear capes". Hard to believe that this thing happens everywhere including the states. I have kids and never leave them alone.
I recommend this movie to everybody and also his interview with Jordan. look for it in Youtube.
I only had one question.. where is the mom of the two kids? I don't recall explaining what happened to her.
I cared more for the Plane in Plane than Superman in Batman v Superman
A kind of production where you could tell they put in great effort. It's the kind of story where it's unpredictable enough to keep you entranced, enough action to keep you entertained, and the lack of any twists or turns keep it fresh enough to be original. This movie is good, not great, not terrible, not "just okay", it is GOOD! It's the type of movie you want to see at the end of an extremely long day, something you don't have to think about, something you can pick up at absolutely any point in the movie and know what's going on. A 6/10 in quality, but a 9/10 in production
More than just a well-made movie, this is a critically important piece of cinema that you must see and share with others.
A hidden gem. I came for Benicio del Toro because, well, we don’t get enough of him, and stayed for the very well acted scenes. Was pleasantly surprised to see AS, I probably haven’t seen her since my adolescence. Yea it’s a bit long, but there are enough details to make the journey interesting. Not something I could watch again, but 100% happy to have seen it!
Wonder what happened to Claire. My hopeful wishful thinking part of me says she lived (:
I hated this movie. I hated it so much. I'm not going into detail, I just don't have the energy because I'd like to forget this movie as soon as I can. It's so crazy to see a movie so terrible be so preachy directly to the audience. But hey, I'm 34, and there were people in the audience who were laughing and even clapping at some parts that I was rolling my eyes at, so maybe it's just not for me.
Heat is a cinematic banquet of intense imagery and pulse-pounding action.
An overindulgent mess of a film, 'satire' as blunt as a brick to the face. Lazy writing. Steer clear of this pretentious mess
You feel just as uneasy as the main character Will in this movie. That feeling that everything is not as it seems and something is cleary wrong with the hosts of a little too friendly dinner party. A good thriller with a crazy ending.
I liked it. Sure, the humour is quite lowbrow but some of the pranks were pretty funny. Switch your brain off and enjoy.
Great movie. Pretty scary. Also ruthless. One of Patrick Stewart's best roles.
Netflix choosing the right time to make a movie about a bunch of white people trying to save a black man from himself.
No complaints... It was good.
A little too complicated for it’s own good, and basically a similar vibe to The Departed but no where near as good.
Seemed a little stop-and-go with short scenes and weird flow, but it was still enjoyable.
"Now Gentlemen and Ladies. Whatever you saw or did... Is no longer my concern. But let's be clear... this won't end well."
This movie kept me in a state of unease and suspense the whole time. I used to play in a punk band so a lot of the band side seemed familiar and having to find last minute gigs is not fun, but sometimes you have to play in shady areas. The things that this band has to go through by playing in a neo-Nazi club... unsettling. Also, who knew Patrick Stewart had a dark, scary side to him.
Great film.
Hokey, self-indulgent and preachy. It raises some excellent points and tries to shine a light on some real modern issues, but it gets bogged down by trying to be badass about it, that is hard not to laugh at it. What damns it the most though is its featuring (aside from Odessa Young) nothing but horrendously unlikeable people.
really really great movie, really fits the time and has an even better soundtrack
equally entertaining, but seeing in Latin hurts your ears, Glenn Moreshower and Raymond Cruz is very young, Erika eleinak, vey hot
