Wonka

Timothee Chalamet absolutely won over my heart with this one. When I was growing up I loved both renditions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so when I heard they were making a prequel I was definitely intrigued. This was everything my heart could want and more, the songs were sombre and bittersweet - like something out of your childhood dreams. The acting was good, corny at times, but it was the sheer wittiness that gave this film its charm. I would definitely recommend checking this out.

If Anything Happens I Love You

This was such a heart-wrenching story for the amount of time that it was on. I did not see the ending coming and it left me in tears. This short film doesn't have any dialogue but is instead told through the imagery and the music that accompanies it. This is extremely well put together.

Where the Crawdads Sing

This was amazing, I thought the acting was top tier. Very close to the book which I love and I still to this day will be stand by the fact that that twist at the ending is amazing.

Top Gun

This film was ok I guess but I just found it to be overwhelmingly boring. For an action it just seemed to have absolutely nothing going for it. I rated it slightly higher than I was originally going to because I must take into account the year it was released and the impact it must have had back then but still it could have been better.

Miss Americana

My god, this was so good. It was beautifully put together and I went from laughing to crying within seconds. This was a beautiful insight to the artist of the decade

Heartstopper

So heartwarming and actually very faithful to the graphic novel series'. You can tell that Alice Oseman has had her hands on this as the cast were perfectly picked and you could not imagine a single character being played by someone else.

The representation is amazing and definitely well needed in this day and age. Everyone needs to watch this!

One Life

Oh my freaking god.

I went to see this in the cinema and I kid you not, there was not a dry eye. This film is a true story following Nicholas Winton who attempted to get as many child refugees out of Prague as he could and away to safety. This film was incredibly emotional but somewhat witty in places due to the amazing acting by both Anthony Hopkins and Helena Bonham Carter. They add wit to an undoubtedly sad film. This is something that all people need to see.

Elvis

Actual Rating 8.5*

This was a really good depiction of the life of Elvis Presley. I'm going to be honest and say it took a little while to get into but it had a great pay off in the end.

The Heat

I know I'm probably in the minority of people who loved this movie as much as I did but I think there's just something spectacular about Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy's chemistry on screen. They were able to come together and make a really fun and entertaining movie that definitely had some laugh out loud moments.

OLIVIA RODRIGO: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film)

I honestly have an overwhelming amount of love for Olivia Rodrigo and her music. She is so freaking talented and she's only 19. This documentary/concert video did a really good job of providing slight backstories to all the songs on Sour and did an even better job at choosing the locations where Olivia performed her hits. Seeing the songs performed in different places from the beach, to the back of a pickup truck, to what looked like a deserted airplane yard, each location had me immersed even more in the atmosphere of the music and Olivia's vocal delivery.

And was that an unreleased song we heard at the end? Just a prediction but I do think she is an artist to watch out for, she's already made it big. Here's anxiously waiting to see what album two brings to the table.

Death to 2021

This sadly was just not as good as I was expecting it to be. I was bored most of the time and probably wouldn't recommend it which is a shame because I really loved the previous part, (Death to 2020) but this was just a massive miss for me.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts

Being a massive Harry Potter fan I knew that I was going to love this, there was just absolutely no way that I couldn't and I was right. It was so great seeing all of the actors and actresses reuniting with each other and sharing their own personal experience of the 10 years they spent filming Harry Potter.

There was even parts that made me emotional and this story, both the books and movies, is such a massive part of my life and I genuinely don't know what I'd do without this as my comfort for when I'm having a bad day so it was great getting to revisit that world with the cast that I grew up seeing on my screen.

I just absolutely loved this.

Shadow in the Cloud

The sad thing is Chloe has an amazing acting ability but she's been cast in some really shit films. To me, 'Shadow in the Cloud,' is a film that has no sense of direction or purpose. It was all over the place by starting off like a realistic historical fiction then randomly some sort of fantasy/mythical creatures showed up - not to mention the unrealistic way Chloe's character was able to climb around a moving plane. Then, probably the most unrealistic thing, was how the main character fell into an exploding plane but somehow survived. What the fuck?

This had a good premise, good acting from Chloe. Apart from that there wasn't much to get excited about.

Game of Thrones: 1x05 The Wolf and the Lion

Another good episode, I just wish there wasn't as much unescesary sex thrust in. Then we could focus more on the storyline.

Falling for Christmas

Really enjoyable, very predictable. There's not much that can be said about a film like this. I think if you are looking for an engaging romantic Christmas film then this could be for you.

One of Us Is Lying

I almost didn't watch this because having read the book and already knowing how it ends I just thought I'd find this unentertaining but in fact it was the exact opposite. This show brought a whole new set of intrigue to the plot and the characters, I think the cast were picked really well and I enjoyed my time watching this.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

It's nice to see that the film's are maturing in terms of their content. Seen as though, at the time of their release, the main trio of characters were growing up with our audience demographic it is nice to see it age content wise aswell. This is a really good Harry Potter, though not my favourite.

Enola Holmes 2

This brought back what I loved about the first film, the whimsy and a film that doesn't take itself too seriously so you can have some fun film entertainment. However it must be said that I did enjoy the first film more - I've seen a lot of people say they prefer this film and that's great but for me that's just not the case.

What I do have to appreciate with this second installment though was how they based the film loosely on the real life story of Sarah Chapman who pioneered the match girls strike which is seen as staple in the movement towards gender equality. It is very loosely centered around this as obviously Enola and Sherlock weren't actually there but I still appreciate the inclusion of actual historical periods.

This is a very fun film, not as good as the first instalment but still great.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

I just don't see what people see here. This film was cringey and just god damn awful. Walter's zone outs started as a unique idea but then became terrifically annoying every time they happened and on top of all that they made me lose track of what was actually meant to be going on. This is one I definitely will not be recommending to people or researching any time soon.

Sweet Girl

This was a good watch with some incredible acting from all fronts. I didn't like how it jumped time a bit near the beginning of the film but it improved as it went on.

Mrs. Doubtfire

I almost forgot how much I absolutely adored this film, one of Robin Williams' finest, (in my opinion). This is a really nice heartwarming, family comedy for all to enjoy. I would recommend this to anyone.

Creating The Queen's Gambit

This was a nice brief look into the filming of the Queen's Gambit, how it originally intended to be a feature length film before being made into a mini series. All the cast are great and it was brilliant seeing what they thought of the characters they played.

Atypical

Even if the show came across as cringey at points I'm really glad of the representation here. As someone who had autism themselves I felt like I could relate to a lot of what Sam went through. I couldn't relate to it all but everyone on the spectrum displays things differently but Sam was definitely a great main character and the actor portrayed him well. I can't wait to see what the fourth and final season brings as a conclusion.

Jesy Nelson: "Odd One Out"

This documentary is so important and pivotal to the contemporary world. I have been in and out of love with Little Mix since the beginning of their journey at the X Factor but Jesy Nelson is such an inspirational human being that I'm not shy in saying I look up to.

This documentary made me sad and tearful as we got to see a side to her that we have never seen before and she truly told us what seemed like everything and I absolutely respect her for that. No one should be made to feel this way, absolutely nobody and hopefully with the making of this documentary people will begin to realise that.

Cursed

Now I didn't have any problems with the acting in this show apart from a few instances here and there but overall the writing of this show is what brought it down. it was so cliche and bring, and there wasn't really a single intense moment in this show as you would expect from a fantasy show of this nature.

It did intrigue me enough to give a second season a chance if there is ever one but this just didn't do anything for me as of this 1 season.

Game of Thrones: 3x09 The Rains of Castamere

fuck, that was wild ride of an episode and it completely shattered my heart. It was delivered excellently and serves as one of the only TV episodes that has made me cry

Game of Thrones: 1x07 You Win or You Die

This show just has everything that I've ever wanted in a TV Series. it is a gripping medieval high fantasy that incorporates gruesome scenes and for once you don't actually know who the good guys are. This episode was just brilliant and I can see we are gearing up for a massive finale.

I will say, however, that I did think that the brothel scene was very unnecessary.

Game of Thrones: 1x06 A Golden Crown

Oh damn, now this is what I am talking about. There weren't any over the top sexual scenes in this episode which allowed us to focus on the gripping, however brutal storyline. This episode was full of many interesting story arcs and that ending was brilliant. I need to just jump into the next episode right now!
