Everyone talking about how important the 2020 season is going to be and how much pressure there will be.
Kimi: "It's more like a hobby for me, so I don't need to do it if I don't want to..."
It's a bit strange to see that final race without seeing or even mentioning the winner of that race (As if he didn't even participate). And why was Sebastian Vettel's departure from F1 given this little attention? A four-time world champion driving his final race should get way more screen-time. And we also hardly saw Bottas, Stroll, Latifi, Ocon or Zhou (only his crash during the British GP) this season. A pity I think.
Oh, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of the drivers' interaction (Loved all the banter), although I can understand that it wouldn't add much to the episode storylines.
This was a typical Netflix/DTS way of telling a story: After the rumors and accusations we see Verstappen struggling during the Singapore GP. It looks like it's all gone wrong for Red Bull (Verstappen being totally exhausted after the race, Horner looking dejected), while all other teams (Ferrari, McLaren, even Mercedes) seem to be happy about their performances, sort of implying that Red Bull got what they deserved for 'cheating'.
But what they 'forgot' to tell is that:
- Red Bull actually won the race with Perez (We don't even see him during the race), so no sour faces at Red Bull at all.
- ALL drivers were drained after the race, since Singapore is considered to be one of the toughest races on the calendar due to the high humidity and temperatures.
- Mercedes only finished ninth (Hamilton) and fourteenth (Russell), both behind Verstappen.
Oh wow, I was eating a stroopwafel while watching this! (ok, more than one)
Haha, that looks like the perfect car for doing some shopping, Carlos! :)
Wow, Villanelle in Amsterdam! And her pronunciation of "Hagelslag" was perfect! Way better than Carolyn Martens' "Ja". :)
Oh, and you've got to love her answer to the girl who asks her if she can take a picture for her Instagram:
"No. No, of course not.Don't be pathetic. Get a real life!"
Hey, what is Perd Hapley doing in Philadelphia!?
Nice episode, but unfortunately Annie Murphy was a bit too passive, almost even shy-ish, in this.
This is very strange, but there is a guy among the contestants, who you almost never see. You never see him during the challenges and there is almost never a close-up of him. In this episode his screen time during the banishment was less than a second, and I actually had to rewind to see that he had entered the room for breakfast. I don't even know his name after eight(!) episodes, but he's still in the game! What's the deal with this guy?! Is he one of Chloe's spirits? :)
Disappointing after "Gganbu". Those VIPs were really over the top and made this episode hard to watch.
Selina: "Can I really blame another country for something they didn't do?"
Ben: "It's been the corner stone of American foreign policy since the Spanish-American war."
Didn't like Toto's reaction to Vasseur's justified complaints after Sainz got a grid penalty..
And what was the reason again Charles wasn't allowed to do some donuts? Did it have to do with fuel levels?
Lando breaking(?) the clapperboard at the beginning of the episode should have been a warning for things to come...
A shame they ended with the Silverstone race and didn't show more of the McLaren season, like Piastri winning the sprint in Qatar after they qualified first and second in the sprint shootout.
That was a perfect ending to a great season: Sam all brightly-coloured after wearing grey outfits every episode, the editing of the Exercise task (with the connecting screams/sighs/etc) and to top it off the hilariously Fawlty Towers-esque Taskmaster Hotel task!
Man, you gotta love Ron Swanson, .. ehm.. I mean Karl Weathers! :)
Haha, who would think that popping a balloon would be the highlight of this season!?
Wow, what a great and emotional ending. Nice to see all of the older inmates back, like Soso and Boo, which indeed makes you wonder why they weren't included in the series final two seasons (I know: maybe that was their own choice). They even mention 'Pornstache' on IMDB.com's cast list. Was he really in this episode? And for you who didn't notice: the real Piper (Kerman, that is), was in the final scene when Piper visits Alex in jail in Ohio.
The end credits were heartbreaking as well. Loved how the emotions got to Natasha Lyonne (Nicky, probably my favorite character) and the beautiful song by Danielle Brooks (Taystee), who was brilliant this final season.
Not a fan of the yields; just let them fight it out in a fair way.
I know this isn't a season overview, but it's still strange that the only moments we see Max a bit longer is when he struggles in Singapore (this and the previous episode).
And where was Franz Tost?
Edit: oh, and stroopwafels!
What?! They're shopping at Cloud 9? Would've been hilarious if one of the Cloud 9 employees would have been in this episode.
Ok, that was a bit awkward, Jon asking Tyler how it was "... to finally win a leg?"
By far the scariest scene in all seasons of Fargo so far? Varga "picking" his teeth!
I'm always wondering with this sort of programs how difficult it must be to keep the outcome of the show a secret to the tv audience? When you see how many people were filming and encouraging the contenders in Tennessee, that looks impossible.
I'm glad with Derek and Claire as the winners, although I wouldn't have minded if the twin-sisters would have finished first. They were pretty amazing.
A shame the team that got covid was eliminated from the race earlier in the season, but that's probably a better solution than in the Australian version, where teams were allowed to miss a couple of legs and return to the race after recovering from the virus, which actually gave them an advantage in the race.
Wow, I watched this more than 15 years after it was broadcasted and Noel Fielding still looks the same as he did then!
Wow, the Carl stories are getting more ridiculous every episode! He has been a one-sided cartoon-character since the start and the series would be much better without him.
"It's never good to kill the family member of a serial killer."
Song before opening credits: Dead Can Dance - "The Host Of Seraphim", first track on their album "The Serpent's Egg" (1988)
Nandor to Guillermo: "Oh no, you killed a vampire. Very frowned upon amongst the vampire community."
"We have a 12-time Daytime Emmy Award-attending actress..."
"And just like an extremely overqualified person, this one has 180 degrees."
