Loved it! No action, but a giant leap in emotion and story for me. This series is showing that Star Wars movies/shows don’t have to be dumbed down or have god aweful dialogue.
I don’t like musicals. I thought this was great! It was a nice modern take on the Dickens tale, and fun as hell to watch.
It’s probably trending on twitter right now as “leftist wine nonsense” which would prove the point of the movie!
Great performances all around, enjoyable and a nice change of pace for me.
Let this series be a lesson to all future writers, directors and producers of Star Wars movies/tv. Great story, stellar dialogue and compelling characters. Man, what a great episode this was!
I’m sure any complaints about this season will be the political angle they’re pursuing, but in my eyes, this show can do no harm.
And dare I say, I am madly in love with Beth. One of the most well written, and acted characters of all time and it never gets old.
Meh. Seemed like a filler episode to me. Still enjoying it though and I do appreciate how much character development they’re doing.
Holy cow, this was great! Sort of like a “real version” of Ready Player One. Interesting story, beautiful shots and intriguing.
THANK YOU BETH!! And some filler to meet the minimum words require to leave a comment.
All I can hear throughout this is Eddie Murphy: “the house told you to leave, the white people stayed in there…that’s a hint and half for your ass…”
Another gem. I imagine they’re getting canceled on twitter for showing Mitch’s human side, and it’s awesome Reese and Jen are executive producers, and showing all perspectives. Touching the ‘redemption of Mitch’, seeing his remorse and desperation to be better is incredible. It’s a shame humanity isn’t this compassionate in real life.
Meh. Seemed like a filler episode to me. Still much better than Boba Fett.
I liked this show for a few reasons.
1-good character development and storytelling without just making it another brainless “hey, look, aliens destroying stuff!”
2-many complain about the pace. Yes it was slow, but it was refreshing to not blow a wad in the first 5 minutes of the season.
3-beautiful visuals and shots.
You won’t like it if:
If you like to watch and get into shows vs sitting there in your phone with shows in the background, give it a chance, it might surprise you.
Neat concept but too many cliches to list. It’s like they used AI to write a sitcom script as it checks all the boxes.
It’s not my cup of tea and I don’t plan to I watch the rest after a couple of episodes. it’s cute at times, but there are too many annoying supporting cast characters that bug me.
Wow! That was a beauty of an episode! The flow and timing was simply perfect given the complexities in the storylines.
I must be missing something…just seems like a bunch of random scenes stitched together. I’m going to keep watching, but so far it’s not all that interesting for me.
I was expecting a typical “smart, talented kid from the hood defies the odds…” story and was gladly disappointed. This was fantastic. Great story telling, strong character development and good sub-plots. I thought they they did a very good job bringing in the pandemic and BLM, some of those scenes were hard to watch and almost surreal that those events probably happen daily. The acting got better as it rolled along and the bball shots throughout was unreal. Fell down a little the last couple episodes as they gave away some obvious clues how it was going to end up. Still though, I hope they renew for season 2. Now I’ll go see how many of Kevin Durant’s real life stories made it in!
Brendan Fletcher was fantastic. Interesting story with a solid emotional feel, but I think given the cast it could have been better. It has flashes of potential and some well done scenes, but there are parts of the story that just didn’t stitch together well. A solid “good” and it kept me interested.
Movie pitch: picture this - a few hot blonde chicks, a hot guy, Nick Cage and a plane. Oh, and a thanos snap.
Movie exec: sold!
This was better than the reviews and comments say. I never read them before watching but I did for this so maybe I lowered my expectations.
It was too long though, there was a huge chunk in the middle that seemed like they needed to fill time and the music was probably the worst of any movie ever. Seemed like it was from 1987, not 2014.
That said, neat premise, poor special effects, thin story but entertaining when you don’t want to do any thinking.
Seemed to fall apart a little at the end given the extreme hype and build up throughout the 3rd act, but otherwise a good finish to the season. Almost seems like the ending was decided on without knowing of they’ll be back for another one.
I love Bill Burr. If you've ever seen his standup, this is basically the movie version. Not a great 'movie' but funny as hell if you like his standup.
A little too complicated for it’s own good, and basically a similar vibe to The Departed but no where near as good.
Seemed a little stop-and-go with short scenes and weird flow, but it was still enjoyable.
I was expecting Super Store, but with Blockbuster. Oh how wrong I was. I can’t remember seeing a show with an entire cast of forgettable, flat, and uninteresting people in my life.
Far too long, but pretty good action sequences with a few interesting camera shots.
The story was more or less the same as every other JP movie, expect this one starred Tim Cook as the evil billionaire trying to rule the world from a compound that looked a little like 1 Infinite Loop.
For me there was just too much happening constantly. Normally that would take away from the story, but this was definitely a case of great FX needing something to glue the action sequences together. It’s almost like they designed the sequences first and then tried to figure out how to shoehorn a story into it.
I’m guessing BDH or Filoni didn’t direct this one. It’s no shocker the two (by far) best episodes were directed by them. Outside of having a cool costume, I never really understood why people go gaga over Boba Fett, other than the scenes with the Tuskens, he looked and moved around like my 80 year old dad.
I expected this to be terrible and I love Motley Crue. It’s not as bad as I thought but the first two episodes could have been summed up in 5 minutes. Got better by the 3rd episode and Bucky is fantastic as Tommy.
Sandra Bullock was incredible in this. I thought the story and pacing was very well done. I really got sucked into this, it’s heavy if you have a soul. Unbelievably sad and satisfying at the same time.
A solid “meh” so far. The best thing is how everyone loves Boba Fett because he has a cool helmut and ship. 2 minutes of screen time in the original trilogy, does nothing, falls down and ends up in the Sarlaac. There are some good bits so far, but it’s pretty slow and drawn out.
Perfect from start to finish.
I absolutely loved this movie. I am not American but my grandpa was in the US Air Force so I have always had tremendous respect for the military. I try to avoid political statements but it’s hard to do so and make an honest comment about this movie.
I don’t think this glorified war, or justifies war. I think it tells a great, and mostly true given what I’ve read, story about Kyle and the people in his life.
This definitely didn't need to be 90 minutes. The best part for me was the history aspect of ADD/ADHD and amphetamines in general, especially because us adults have a habit of blaming everything on millenials/kids etc when we are the idiots who've created this mess of a society.
I suppose the other interesting part was the conversation around the placebo vs adderall study they did where there was no difference between the scores other than the question 'do you feel the stimulant helped with this test?'
About 10 minutes in, I checked the comments here. Thanks everyone who rated this a 1, you saved me a lot of time!
