Falacies of the Useless
✓Script (history) and Performances:[0.7]
First episode, you can't wait for them to explain everything, but it's still not known how this epidemic arose (or Pandemic, if you will find out later).
At least they gave the initial guidelines on how to kill a Walker and how to get contaminated.
The protagonists so far have done very well. The antagonists, not so much. Most of the extras have not yet incorporated the spirit of the thing and there are cases of very rough makeup.
✓Theme(Direction):[0.9]
The series' theme is how to survive in a Zombie Apocalypse.
The directors want to show the effort of a father who, despite many problems, wants to protect his family.
All still introduced little by little, in the skin of the character Rick Grimes.
✓Costume:[1.0]
✓Makeup:[0.5]
Rick's beard is shaved when he wakes up, which doesn't make sense.
Also, a lot of Walkers with bad makeup, although there are always some well made up. Still, I need to emphasize the quality of the scenes of sweaty and disheveled characters for not being able to take care of themselves at a time like this, many movies get lost in this.
✓Edition:[1.0]
The editing of scenes and the pace of the story are very good. Nothing to complain about. Starting with the little girl scene was cool and kind of a connection to the last 10 minutes of the episode.
✓Episode Objective:[0.7]
It would be better if you presented the origin of the epidemic.

Don't dead, open inside (Well, I see Trakt changed the episode thumbnail mere days after I left this comment, causing this part to make less sense...)
Always wondered if I'd give this show a shot. I never had anything against it, but I also wasn't particularly enthused by the idea of it. I saw one random episode of it back in like 2013 at a friend's house because it was airing and my friend didn't want to miss it, but that was my only exposure to the show. As time passed, I became more and more wary of the show, because most of what I hear about it is how it has stopped being engaging a long while ago and it should've ended way before now (but it is still going to this day). And the fact that there's like 3 spin-off series is not appealing to me. But, I've been replaying the Telltale games recently, and felt like I wanted to finally give the show a shot.
Good start, I think. The coma story is incredibly improbable - the series of events that would have to occur to keep Rick alive through all of that... well, it's super unlikely. But the fish-out-of-water experience is a great way to begin the show. Although the opening scene (with the child walker) is cheap shock value.
