At first, the rather dated look of "A Little Peace and Quiet" along with a really overly annoying family bothered me some. However, once you get over those items and settle in to appreciate the performance of Melinda Dillon and the amazing final scene of her character walking through the frozen city streets, you'll find this episode to be one of the best of the series.

The ending is really terrific and always keeps me thinking about the struggle Dillon's character will encounter from that point forward. Her fate is really an incredible, and probably undeserved punishment. When I try to imagine what she did from that moment in time forward, I can come up with so many possibilities it makes my head hurt. And by the way, just where did that amulet come from? Who had it first? What did the amulet's previous possessor do with it? Why was it buried? I like stories that leave some unanswered questions to ponder.
