I think "Shatterday" gets a lot of credit for being the first aired episode of the rebirth of the Twilight Zone. It also doesn't hurt that it stars soon-to-be superstar Bruce Willis, or that Harlan Ellison wrote the story. But for me, the episode is just okay. I've often thought about what would happen if I walked into a room late one night and saw myself sitting there and that thought always sends a little shiver up my spine. "Shatterday" plays with that possibility in the form of a phone call but it just doesn't hammer home how remarkable that would be. It focuses on the good Bruce cleaning up the messes of the old, jerk Bruce. It got some nice dialogue, but it plods along quite slowly, using up Willis's star power until it reaches a rather pedestrian conclusion.
