Great. You can see the youth's other side that american series throw on your face
A generation that does not find itself in the society, and a society that has no interest in finding its own generation. At this point the escaping of Alyssa and James seems almost natural and desirable, but the plot heavily struggle to give a further sense to this wild decision.
The vicissitudes of the two main characters are only the condiment to a story that could develop well based on their crazy minds, instead it refuses to do so, while it focuses on their (stupid enough) actions, which have obvious consequences from the moment they are done: eventually they put themselves in a mess that they can no longer control. Surely the best part is Alyssa and James' love story: it's "real" and intriguing, and gives us a glimpse of their perverse but genuine thoughts, and it gives a motivation for almost every (I repeat, quite stupid) action, as in the best scenes, when James tries to give some flowers to Alyssa or when Alyssa dances to the records found in the house they've been hiding in.
Definitely it's funny, intriguing and worth of the short bingewatching needed to watch it all (8 episodes, 20 minutes each: honestly kinda ridiculous for a tv series, why not a movie?).
6.5/10
Wow! That turned out to be a really awesome series! Shame each episode was so short. Very clever writing and screen play teamed up with awesome acting and great music made this a really cracking little series!
I liked this a lot more on my first watch, I think knowing what happens really took away from my enjoyment of this season and it made me realize that this is not really for me. I do like the vibe and the acting is great but for me the show's antics got really old really fast (honestly I started to tire of it after the first episode which I actually loved). I didn't finish the rewatch because I was too bored and I will not be watching the second season but objectively speaking I think this is a pretty good show, just not for me.
I really liked how this series explored James' development from a self-described psychopath to a person who understood the value of human relationships through James' time spent with Alyssa, wandering aimlessly out of their town. I loved the open- ended, sort-of poetic ending to the season with James' character arc concluding beautifully as he tries to protect Alyssa. I wanted James and Phil's relationship to be explored more, since Phil seems like he genuinally cares for his kid but cannot really connect to him. Gwen sending letters to Alyssa was sweet too, but I wish she made more of an effort for Alyssa.I like how James' relationship to his mom was explored too, seeing the impact his mother's suicide had on him, serving as a catalyst for James' emotional repression. Overall, this was a really fun binge-watch for the weekend.
I start thinking James is the next American psycho and them the next Clyde, only to realize that the best in this show is Alyssa (and the daughter of Eve’s boss)
A quirky, twisted pseudo-romance between two very broken characters. Season 1 was ok but season 2 was so much better.
The boy is weirdo the girl is... well i don't know what to call but it's more than weirdo to. It's a start... a weird start but i guess it's intriguing enough to keep watching.
Ben Brooks meets Chuck Palahniuk.
Nice and fun until it finally becomes great. But jesus I hate how it uses songs. Not always. But most of the time.

We can witness a classical Bonnie and Clyde story supported with bit of a Natural Born Killers vibe, two splendid main characters and killer music.
I usually hate to say this, but it totally feels like a movie just split into 8 episodes, so no surprise the whole season has been released at once to binge-watch.
Unfortunately, the uniqeness has lessened after the fifth episode and became a comfort food, also the cliffhanger seemed a bit off, but aside from these little drawbacks, you should definitely check out.
