the characters used to be quirky and funny, but now they don't even seem people. The whole episode was basically: girlfriend stereotypes (like relationship problems and even the spa thing), boyfriend stereotypes (the not-even-trying thing and the "cluelessness"), nerd/engineer stereotypes (coming up with a complicated solution for a simple problem).
Like all stereotypes, some people fit in them but most people don't and to watch a show where every single character has become one it's sad and boring. They don't even have personalities anymore, they're just an empty shell.
PS. Bernadette had a tiny strong girl with a slight "evil scientist" side that I loved.... now she's just a mom... nothing more.
More and more this season's episode has gone annoying.
The Penny and Leonard side of this episode is incredibly bad. Penny is so dumb with her take. While it's true that Leonard could've made effort, he was right on the fact that he did most of the working in the relationship
The last episode was funnier. The show is becoming like King of Queens where most episodes are couples arguing. The Raj and Howard scenes were funny at least.

Was Penny really complaining that Leonard isn't putting enough effort into their relationship? Really? Isn't he the one who's actually trying most of the time? And of course Leonard's the one who initiates the apology.
I really don't know why they're even together. To me it only feels like Leonard loves Penny because she's pretty and Penny loves him because he adores her. Their relationship just doesn't feel real.
