Most overrated, over-hyped tv show ever, still worth a watch though.

The series is mostly well done and gripping, no question. The music continues to haunt you and stays in your head.
You should definitely watch the series, but I don't quite understand the hype. Korea has so many series and movies to offer.
The ending was just a disappointment for me and the plot is just flat.
At the end it seems like the series should be finished very quickly. The author said in an interview that it took him six months to write the first episode, but in the end you don't notice it. Many points are not explained and the end is open, although a second season is probably not even planned.

But in the end you get a good series that's easy to watch with a fantastic cast and a few scenes that are really just fantastic.
The dubs are crappy and especially in German I'm about to puke.
The damn game is not called red light green light in the original or green light red light as in the German dubbing which makes even less sense.It just sounds like fucking shit and the Korean language is too beautiful to ignore.

I just finished watching this series and just loved it. I thought it was a series that would somehow disappoint me but as soon as I started watching it I couldn't stop.
I liked the fact that it was a few episodes and that it didn't overly stretch the storyline. The colors, the scenography, the music and every single detail has become iconic.
I found the acting of the various characters very beautiful.
The series has managed to adapt to a more Western context, managing to make space around the world.

Some really horrible actors who you couldn`t wait for their characters to die in the game. Over acted like a lot of foreign language offerings. The storyline was a good idea and it would be nice to see it redone properly by a western team. Typical foreign cinema - would have been better as a film - was very hard to battle through to the end of the tv series. Could have been a lot shorter and lost nothing.

[Netflix] It's effective beyond the condition of "escape room" movie with "Battle Royale" (2000) influences and parallels with "Parasite" (2019) and "Burning" (2018) in the pessimistic vision of South Korea. More interesting the episodes that show the human being as a predator, although the references to the interference of Western capitalism are too obvious. Watched only for fun, it's entertaining and intelligent.

I came for bronze but found diamond.

This show exceeded all my very high expectations! It's interesting with fun, crazy but also very lovable characters. Good storytelling and some nice twists. There was a lot of buzz around this being a very sadistic, bloody show - it is sadistic in the way the characters have to play the games but it isn't nearly as nasty as they make it out to be.
It's quite amazing how fast you start to feel for these characters, a true binge worthy show!

The plot is not something new, but it was successfully executed. But the biggest problem of the series is the protagonist, he is tremendously annoying, he is a bad person, you can't empathize with that kind of character.

Even Ji-yeong, a secondary character who we barely see in the last chapters, has a stronger emotional charge than the main character. I mean, all he was supposed to do in the end was to be a good father and he couldn't even do that.

The most watched Netflix series ever, huh? It's definitely good fun. It reminded me of Kaiji, though it's not as good or as similar as I had expected. There's tangible meaning and emotion in this despite the main focus being the dramatic high-stakes action. Very recommendable.

• character and emotional driven story. Depth of multiple human traits is deeply relatable when in life and death situation and at some points we can see ourselves doing the same thing to survive.

• after its peak emotional episode in the middle the energy is a bit lower than the earlier parts but still enjoyable. Some mystery is predictable. Depressing philosophical ending but kept door open for more.

Absolutely amazing, from start to finish.

This series was phenomenal. I'm speechless. It's a must-watch for everyone. The survival-themed genre, the action, blood, plot twists etc, are all just a few of everything else this show has to offer. This is my favourite tv show of all time, and I will check out other Korean dramas because of this show.

Definitely one of the most well made korean dramas on Netflix right now...or ever. Record breaking, talk of the town at the moment, i love how exciting it is and you're always at the edge of your seat every episode. Perfect, flawless, uncomfortably genius, disturbing, binge worthy and atrocious acting by the VIPs. Ugh.

Enjoyed it, like an urban parallel of battle royale. Loved the character/s development and actors, it was almost an inclusive mix (sans a :rainbow_flag: character).

English subs are exact match for the dub, which isn't bad at all, perhaps typical for this studio.I hear there's been lots of debate about originality these first 2 weeks. It's unlike any TV show I've ever seen, tho movie touchstones include Belko Project, Parasite and Battle Royale.

This series does a great job of seeming horribly brutal and violent, when technically the kills are no more bloody than a TV western.

I'm not usually into K stuff, more a J stuff guy, but this wasn't bad

I liked the show but the ending was poorly done.
My advice, skip watching the last 30 minutes.

I'm not really sure what I will feel about this series. I did enjoy this and I think the concept of this is unique but this isn't really new to me since I've watched quite a few films and series with the same concept. I guess what I only really love about this one is that this will teach you a lot of things while you're enjoying the tension between players and each games. I also love the backstory of each main characters. Compare to Alice in Borderland tho, I would say I like AIB more than this one. I also find the VIP's acting kind of cringey and that really put the whole series off for me . Overall, I like the production behind it. The actors indeed create a really good job. Cinematography, musical score wise, quite not a fan but I'm definitely recommending this.
