In this episode Earl tries to make amends to crazy Donny for having committed the robbery for which Donny was convicted and for which he served two years in prison --- quite reluctantly at first, given that Donny is crazy and tends to over-react violently to (even merely perceived) wrongs against him. But Earl's brother Randy and Randy's new girlfriend (who works as a maid at the cheap hotel where Earl and Randy are staying) basically force Earl to confess to Donny and ask him how to make reparations. As it happens, Donny himself has had a change of heart in prison after he accepted Jesus Christ the God as his Savior, and after a short silent pause actually forgives Earl. Donny's mom, however, beats Earl with a huge-print Bible up and down, blaming him for stealing two years of her life with her son. Earl decides to add her to his list, and helps her quit smoking (at the same time as he quits himself). This was a weak episode, except perhaps for crazy Donny, who stands out.
