I have been a longtime fan of Grey's Anatomy, that being said over the years with all of the actors leaving the show it has really changed the dynamic of the show in my opinion and that has caused me to not want to keep up with the show as much. I am a person who can't leave a show, movie, or book unfinished because it irritates me. So during this season (12) after the doctor that told Meredith that Derek was brain dead showed up at Meredith's house for dinner I just couldn't continue watching the show, so I took a break in order to allow the overload of emotions that episode gave me to calm down. I have just now returned to start watching it again now that I am 8 episodes behind. So far i'm surprised Meredith is even willing to work with her I know that as adults people are supposed to be able to handle it but that has to be super hard.

this show isn't as good as it used to be, i'll admit but i think it's a complete lie when people say that it doesn't mess with your emotions. season 10 and 11 weren't the best but i've cried a lot and for no reason at all. this show just pulls you back in no matter what and i'll continue watching the show even after seventeen more seasons because i can't think of a day where i won't remember one of these characters or mourn their losses.

We used to love this show but it's gone down hill the last year or two, and this year it's just bad. The newer characters are just poor actors and the story is boring that not even the older characters can keep it interesting.

12 seasons and still standing strong. I know a lot of people might disagree but for me, this show still brings tears to my eyes - either from joy or sadness. The acting, music and stories are still as strong as ever. Even without some characters.

You'll love Grey's in the first three seasons, you'll hate Grey's in season 4 and 5, but if you hang long enough to season 6, you'll see some of TV's finest episodes, drama, comedy, and the most heart breaking season finale ever. Yes, it will get dull again, but some episodes will just grip you back in, with heart warming patient stories, great character involvement, and overall amazing script writing. Personal highlights include Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson and the incredible quirky funny awesomeness of Jessica Capshaw.
Every now and then during the off season I can re-watch old seasons of Greys Anatomy and this is what I like to call 'classic Greys'. Nowadays, it's like watching daytime soapie of a medical drama. It's like the actors are too tired to give a damn about a performance because well it's been eleven seasons, these days the episodes don't really make me cry, don't put me of the edge, nor do any of the guest stars come close to being memorable which often were the highlights of Greys Anatomy; with their unique individual cases per episode. The only refreshing moment of season 11 was the performance by Geena Davis (in my eyes far too superior for a show that Greys Anatomy has turned into), a delight her short lived storyline was to watch.
It's truly so hard to give a rating for the show, I could highly rate a 10 for some episodes, season 1 comes truly close. As you near season 7 that's when the ratings probably drops to average 7 per episode. As for season 11, I can't even bring myself to watch pass episode 17 not because of what's next to come but simply because I've lost interest and watching far more technically impressive and expressively sound shows, that further accentuate the dullness of 'new' Greys.
Seasons 1 through 10 or 11, good, if not a great SMART and sexy medical drama with some complicated yet likeable characters to root for. Seasons 12+, a DUMB, ever worsening dumpster fire. From season 12 onwards we lose nearly all of the original characters and replaced with literal lunatics who are horribly unlikeable, have no business being anywhere near the healthcare industry, and their love lives could be described as sex addicts enabling sex addicts with no acknowledgment this is not normal. The ratings keep justifying it's existence, it's a juggernaut in the women demos even after 18 seasons, but why? There are so many better things to bounce to. I get paid to do this and watch it passively so whatever, but most of you do this for free lol
As much as this show has gone downhill in the last 7 or so seasons, I really do enjoy it.
But with the release of the most recent season it’s obvious that this show should have ended a long time ago.
Recent stories are filled with nothing but recycled plots and heavy handed social issues. While I appreciate them high lighting these issues, there was a finesse that was present in the plots of the past that is no longer there in the recent seasons.
I’ll watch the last season to know how it ends but it’s sad to see a great show this end on such a low.
Season 1 and Season 2 Comment: Because of this series, I have dreamed to become a doctor haha. I love the plot of this series so much and the moral value it gives after every episode. This will also give you heartbreak. I even love the drama.

Grey's Anatomy is a perfect indicator of when the PC Virus spread and metastasized through the entertainment industry. We watched as the show each year jumped further and further over the shark (forced to watch by the wife who loved the "characters"). Now it's just a smoldering pile of entertainment crap that shows how little regard actors, networks and the rest have for their audiences. I thought MASH was too indulgent, this jumps MASH AND the shark! Shame on all the paycheck actors/writers/producers and rest who are just doing this to fatten the residuals. When they say they do art, just point at this steaming pile of dung and say, "no you're not."
128 episodes watched (up to 7x03) over 3 days of runtime and I'm only 30% of the way through the show? Seriously, Shonda? It ALREADY felt dragged out where I gave up on it; I have no clue how it got more than 10 seasons, let alone still being on the air in 2024.

From being a Medical show with good story-lines, it now is a woke show with more kissing and making-out than your standard gay pwn movie.....

Such an iconic historical soap opera about how a group of young intern surgeons begin their career at a Seattle Hospital where there personal lives and professional lives clash in a poetic yet explosive way that makes for such chaos and edge of your seat drama. However, the character development and the audiences attachment to them is what makes them come back for more or shy away as a show running this long has some dull transition seasons.

This show used to be fantastic. it was nail biting, you often couldn’t see things coming, and actually had shocking moments at times. now it is so boring and predictable. the writing is lazy, and the out of character actions sacrificing development in order to make terrible plots fall into place is constant. not to mention I swear literally nothing happens? very weak plots per episode but gone are the days of strong arcs. It should have ended after season 10 to have gone out with dignity. the cast performs great, regardless of the weak writing they’re given, so kudos to them.

Season 17 of Grey's is hands-down the best treatment of the Covid19 Pandemic!
They tried to show us all aspects of the pandemic over the entire season. All the ups and downs, The frustrations and heartache, and death. Lots of death. All the other medical shows I've watched only dedicated 1 or 2 episodes to the pandemic and sprinkled some references to it now and again.

When I first caught wind of this show it was waay after it came out..me and my daughter started it watching it from the beginning about 2 years ago..but it got boring....every season the same ole shit...drs having sex in the hospital, christina and meredith's drama, a big accident and someone gets killed off...yuck..I hung in there for a long time completely stop watching it about the middle of the season 9..I saw commercials for the last season about christina leaving and all i keep thinking is isn't time for this show to go off the dam air!
