Actually liked this show all the way up until season 6. Season 6 definitely falls off ALOT. But I genuinely liked season 5, it was overhated imo. Maybe it is become I am a fan of Jonathan Banks and I liked his character in this. His episode with Abed is one of my favorites in the show.
A few thoughts after I rewatched the show in 2024:
-Community is one of the greatest shows of all time.
-Britta, Abed, Chang and Professor Buzz Hickey are amazing characters with incredible actors playing them.
-Season 4 is not as bad as many people write. For me season 4 is good as season 3 is.
-Season 1 to 4 are each a 10 for me. Maybe 1 and 2 are a little bit better than 3 and 4.
-Season 5 is the best season of all of them
-Season 6 is the "worst" of all seasons. Part of it because the character of Francesca dosen't work for me.
This show was hilarious but I did find some episodes hard to get through. Was sad when Donald Glover left since his character Troy was my favorite but I am glad everyone’s coming back for a community movie. After the departure of Shirley and Troy the show was still enjoyable but the writing wasn't as good or funny as when they were there.
Community was the TV sitcom for people who watched TV sitcoms religiously since the 1970's and had grown tired of sitcoms created by people who created sitcoms for a living since the 1970"s.
Dan Harmon re-invented sitcoms by creating a new genre of Metacomedy.
The overall premise of the show is incredible. If you're into meta stuff, this show is for you. Although there are several genuinely funny and memorable moments throughout all the seasons, you can certainly tell that the quality of the show started to decrease after season 3. Not in terms of production quality, instead I found the writing a bit disappointing, especially in terms of character development and keeping the essence of the show alive. This was definitely a result of Dan Harmon not being the creator of the show in season 4 and new writers and show creators having to step up and keep the show going, which was most certainly a hard task they were given. Especially Britta and Shirley's character arcs were a bit disappointing, I feel like the writers didn't really know how to add more dimension and likability to the characters. Overall, however, I still feel like this is one of the most unique shows I have ever watched.
Alison Brie is already playing the college life of Diane Ngyuen here and that's all I'm here for.
There's no need for Bojack Horseman to make that anymore.
Six Season and a Movie , P.S the last three seasons weren't that bad
watch only first 4 seasons
"I don't like Community" okay? and I don't like your stupid little face what about it
There is a reason this show has a cult following; this is one of the most creative and hilarious shows I've ever watched, while still somehow being easy to manage. However, with the show peaking at seasons 2 and 3, and seasons 4,5, and 6 not being as good, I must dock it down by one rating level.
Love this show but for me it loses a lot after Pierce got cut. I’ve seen the seasons with Pierce about twice as many times as the seasons without him, it just isn’t the same. Much like with The Office after Michael left, most of my viewings of Community stop after Pierce has “died”, I just can’t get into the seasons without him.
Still though, this is a fantastic show that every fan of comedy should watch at least once.
Fell off after 3rd season
It started boring, then became amazing and towards the end, each episode began to feel more like a filler episode.
those who get it, get it. not a serious show, and there's absolutely nothing to connect to. I can see why some people don't like it, but for me, it's everything a person could possibly want in a TV show.
Why people like this? I'm at episode 4 and really hurting myself trying to like it. I find it so juvenile, stupid, so NOT funny !
But I also hated Brooklyn 911 for the excact same reasons.
its a 4/10 for me.
Why is the poster for community so depressing and scary? Like some twilight zone stuff with abed? Are you waiting for the movie to update it?
the only problem is that some characters leave the show too early (duncan, shirley, troy), but besides that, it's a perfect series
Hilarious and unique for its first three seasons, "Community" served as a fresh new look for a quirky sitcom based in a community college. Dan Harmon and the rest of the team help to create some of the most clever and insane episodes of comedic television ever produced, and the loaded main cast keeps the jokes flying for a good while. There are some solid messages throughout the show that build off of friendship, self-acceptance, and community-building. However, the last three seasons are a letdown, especially the final season with its lack of effective humor, flawed casting, poor narrative focus, and terrible character mishandling.
(+) Unique, clever sitcom shenanigans
(+) Good messages in many episodes
(+) Awesome cast with great chemistry despite off-screen drama
(=) Peaks very hard at third season
(-) Atrocious final season
(-) Too much focus on unnecessary love triangle nonsense
Final Verdict: 8.16/10 (Great)
Watched the first 3 episodes & couldn't get into it. Wasn't funny to me... Had maybe 1 or 2 laughs.
First 4 seasons are perfect. Last 2 seasons awful.
REMEMBER: When this show was originally airing on NBC's Thursday night lineup, it was the MOST DVRed show EVER on television...however, time-shifted views were NOT counted by Nielsen ratings system.
According to Nielsen's, the most watched TV show at the same time was the malignant "Big Bang Theory."
That means that, at the same time Community was setting records in time-shifted watches, the "most-watched while airing" show about "nerds," Big Bang Theory was really only popular with people who were too dumb to know how to set their DVRs to record it.
If Nielsen had been counting actual views instead of only counting self-reported views on the air-date of a show, then Community would have rightfully lasted longer and had more influence and that pile of garbage that is "Big Bang Theory" wouldn't never have gone on to make the world even stupider than it was without it.
Season 1 was the best... everything else that comes after it is just boring, chaotic or political... the usual Hollywood agenda of black victimization, white 'guilt', and gay "segregation", classic american propaganda... it had potential, but I just hate the writers for being this racist...
Community is a really remarkable and unique show for what it is. It's constantly pushing the limits of a sitcom and often breaches into other genres. Though it definitely has its major upside and downs, most notably in later seasons, I would go as far to say it's one of the best shows of its time
What a great show even many years later. First three seasons 9 or a 10, later ones are a bit less but still end up with an 8 overall. Recommended
I love this show with all my heart. Its one of the best pieces of media that got me through the pandemic. Let's hope that the movie will actually happen! #sixseasonsandamovie
I've watched this too many times to count at this point...
I'm going to eat spaceman paninis with black Hitler and there's nothing you can do about it!!!
Some wonderful characters, few great actors and the first half of season 3 was exceptional.
But overall I expected more and the show should have ended sooner.
Great writing. Brilliant plots. Severely underrated. Would have been a nine but for the weak episodes in the last couple of seasons. Still awaiting the movie.
This series is amazing. Hands down the best sitcom i have watched.EVER. The ending was one of the best endings i have seen for a tv show and it had me depressed for like a week. Highly recommend
Very great first two seasons, maybe a few too many special episodes in season 3 but still great, and then a steep decline in quality in season 4, only slightly recovering with season 5 and 6, which at least have a few good episodes, but nothing extraordinary like season 1 to 3 had. It's a bit of a relief the bad to mediocre seasons only have 13 episodes each, but the show still ends on a sad note simply because it destroyed its own legacy that could have been so perfect had it ended at the right time. They should not have relied on "six seasons and a movie".
BUT, because this show is so meta, one of its most unique strenghts, and the writers are self-aware, it actually takes note of this fact in the last episode of the show, which happens to be a genuinely well-crafted episode that for a moment makes you remember the greatness that Community once had. So yeah, all in all, I'm happy with this show and I will never forget how good it once was. It's definitely up there on the list of best sitcoms.
Great show, wished we got into it when it was still on a hype. Enjoyed the full run, and I'd watch it again!
time for my favorite game how long can I watch community until chevy chase becomes too insufferable (have never watched season 6 bc of this)
Other than season four, this show is perfect.
6 seasons and a movie....... PLEASE?!?!
For what started as a heartwarming, quirky, and unique show, the latter three seasons tarnished the sweet taste in my mouth in regards to its lasting appeal. Seasons 1-3 was a sophisticated humor comparable to 30 Rock but with the shenanigans of a Workaholics. It is really a nice blend that worked amazingly for nearly 70 episodes, but then characters started to be written off. Was the show still enjoyable at times from seasons 4-6? Sure. But there was a lot of lazy episodes where the jokes weren't as clever. Rumor is that a movie is supposed to follow, but I can definitely say I am only interested if the original cast and writers are back. To those that have not seen the show I would recommend to watch the first three seasons and then just call it quits. Unless you desperately need more content to watch, you are truly just setting yourself up for disappointment in the long run.
Average Season Review: 7.5/10
Recommendation: Watch If You Need Content (For NBC Sitcom Fans)
I am on season 2 and i am already giving up. Boring and repetitive
It’s kinda boring and annoying except scenes of Abed and Troy. Pierce is mostly funny too.
The supposedly main characters- Britta and Jeff are just straight up not original.
Overall, the episodes are repetitive with same old moral of the story format.
Last 2 minutes of every episode feel like i am in church.
So, finally ende Community, and i have a lot of stuff to say. I dont get why people says its good. Yeah, the first 4 seasons are good, but 5 and 6 o damn that was baaaaaad. When it ended it felt like a big it was time!, the fact of actors leaving the show and the creative team runing out of ideas is clear in the last season, and i hate how everything went to hell suddenly and the character became parodies of themselves. I know its hard to end a comedy show. Look what happened with The Office!, season 8 was shit, and then season 9 was a little bit better and the succesfully close the show. Community end feels reaaaaaally false and abrupt, and a show is good if all its seasons are good, so this isnt.
Dan Harmon, you sunnofabitch, you did it again, Im in. Cool. Cool, cool, cool. Now let
s make a pillow, no a blanket fort. Erase that, let`s have a 50.000 US$ dollars paintball match.
This show is for those that like flawed likable and developing characters with some surrealism thrown into the mixture. The comedy is similar to Rick and Morty, however, lighter. The episodes, at least in the first 3 seasons, are excellent.
can a show get better than this?
Sadly It's way too underrated
it got some nice lines but also too 'casual' in overall.
有亮點但也非常粗糙
really enjoyed season 1. the show has great jokes and one liners, a diverse, pretty progressive cast (that still holds up in 2018). the characters are flawed but they get called out when they cross the line, super appreciated that. there is nice character development, and the group seems to help each other be better. i am now watching season 2 but i do not like it as much, they are focusing more on parodying tv tropes than the characters. it also feels like everyone became kinda meaner and 100% more dramatic.
edit. season 3 was so much better though!
Not to be dramatic but I would literally die for Community. Wheres the goddamn movie already?
Just rewatch (again, 5th time I think) and have to say what I never expressed right, the shows is good till the 4 season, 5 season starts its downfall though still good. But this is one of my favorites. The IT Crowd is on pair with the first seasons of Community, though one of my favorites is Fawlty Towers.... or Fawrty Towels, Farty Towwels....
First and second season were great, rest.... irregular. Did nobody think about getting rid of the Dean Pelton's role? Really???
Where's that goddamn movie already??
Still waiting for that movie!
So many layers to this show ! 10/10 #sixseasonsandamovie
Wow...I watched all episodes until a week...and it was AWESOME! Community is one of the best tv shows I´ve ever seen in my life...and there are a lot of tv shows in my watchlist! 10/10
#SixSeasonsAndAMovie
Oh yeah! Can't wait.
So McHale say's it has been cancelled by Yahoo now after the 6th season... can we have the movie now please? Kickstarter maybe? I'm game.
Man I am gonna miss this show. It was a great story from the beginning to the end, even though they had some changes here and there I adopted to the story and it was worth it. I am ready for that movie.
i still believe: #andamovie <3
Finally!!3 days to go!Six seasons and a movie!
Six seasons and a movie... HELL YEAH!
I'm so glad this has its own personalised "Streets Ahead" for a 10/10 rating. One of the best things on TV that's not on TV.
Six seasons and a movie!
It's my favorite show in the last year, some reports said the show was killed,I'm really really sad about it,but this app shows it still has season 5,wish it's true.
Season 4 was meh and losing Troy was a big blow but I still love this show.
This the best serial I've ever seen in my whole life..!!! Feeling depressed that its finished...
NBC threw the dice, Yahoo hold it. The prime timeline has been restored.
#SixSeasonsAndAMovie is real!!! Yahoo just renewed it!
Yahoo renewed community yesss
And it's back! I'm starting to think that the shows I watch are partially immune to cancellation (Community, Primeval, The Killing (US))!
Seasons 1-3 were brilliant. Season 4 wasn't the train wreck I was expecting. I felt it was a bit scattered at times but managed to find its way to something reasonably watchable. Season 5 had a good beginning, however it absolutely fell apart during the last 3-5 episodes. The saddest part was that I was literally crying with laughter Seasons 1-3, yet I didn't let out a peep during the final 3 episodes.
Ah well. I will remember it for what it truly was - awesome, funny and ridiculous.
Can't believe he really end
I was hoping for season 6.... and of course then a movie. And just now I found out it got cancelled. Guys, I will miss you so much (except season 4).... and a farewell to the Dean. Will miss the costume/crazy idea of the week from him.
This was once a great show...it got bogged down by silly or recycled story-lines. I am going to miss it though, I thought for sure if it got brought back from that horrible 4th season, that it might get #SixSeasonsAndAMovie. I'll miss you, Community! I'll miss that we will never get to see Troy come back a new man, Jeff/Annie get together, and Britta finally take herself seriously.
Fck! They just canceled Community! R.I.P
:*(
this is the worst possible show ever... i mean atleast there was kramer in seinfeld... this show is just purely bullshit... if you havent watched it yet, i dont recommend you to start... atleast if you know what good comedy is...
Vince Gilligan is in da house!
Season 5 is probable. Best news ever.
This is one f the best shows on tv, excluding season 4.
Great show, I've grown more and more respect for it over the years. But it's not going to be around in the current form for much longer I'm afraid. Season 5 already has a change of (regular) cast members.
Probably the best comedy show out there (but then again, I haven't watched season 4 yet)
This serie is amazing !
My favorite comedy show.
Six seasons and a movie!!!!!
PLEASE.
Currently my favourite comedy show. I hope the fifth season will be better than the fourth was, though, because that one was really bad, to be honest. Might be a little biased, though, because I watched the entire show in one go with the last comedies I watched being The Big Bang Theory and the New Girl Season 3 premiere.
Cool...Cool, Cool, Cool!
This show is streets ahead.
It's all downhill after season 2.
Season 4 has one advantage: it is short enough to watch this piece of crap and cry about the slow and painful death of an ones awesome series.
Drop off in fourth season.
If you didn't start season 4 yet, hear my advice: NOPE, DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF EVER SEASON 3 IS THE LAST ONE BYE
One of my favorite tv shows, I didn't enjoy the first episode much so give it a few episodes it'll grow on you.
An incredibly charming and hilarious comedy series anchored by a terrible third season after two amazing ones.
This show is fantastic, too bad more people aren't watching it.
This show was fantastic, even through season 3 when it fell a bit it was still the best show out there. But now it is nothing more than an empty shell of its former glory. There's no emotion, it isn't very funny, the tv references aren't clever in any way, it's none of the neurotic crazy stuff that Dan Harmon did so well. Unless there's a big turn around soon, it's time to let it die.
uhm so... since when is community's rating of 10 called "streets ahead"? <3
great show with brilliant ideas
loved it
6 seasons and a movies
One of the best comedy show ever :D
All I can say is, this show is Meta.
Can't believe it took me 3yrs to watch this show, its truly amazing!
Top show, just started on season three an gets better by the season..

Came for Troy and Abed, stayed for the mentally unstable toxic group
