I saw this at the cinema. One of the better and more extreme shoot-em-up films. I knew sort-of what it was about before from the trailers, but it still left me guessing enough to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable, will get the bluray!
So... why didn't he immediately reset after getting the intel they needed? So they had an entire day to plan, and maybe FMB could have persuaded her elite corps to give them back up on the Paris mission. Just, y'know. Makes sense.
Emily Blunt was amazing. Loved Rita. Love the term Full Metal Bitch, heh. FMB for life!
Loved it. But the ending, the last 3 minutes or so, seems to be stacked on a otherwise great film.
Apperently if you smash together groundhog day and starship troopers you get a decent movie, full of action and light on substance.
All in all a decent action flick. The Groundhog day element adds something new to the genre and even provides some humour.
In the end though the film fails to break free from the action blockbuster stereotype, and is let down by a safe, predictable ending.
The whole time reset idea is very interesting. I remember the concept of playing a video game where we can restart.. a new game or from last checkpoint. When we failed, we load a checkpoint and start again from there to achieve the goal and complete the mission in best way possible. Imagine doing that to a real life situation. nice.
I was watching this last night, its 2nd day and missed the premiere. Awesome action SciFi movie! very entertaining and fresh. its fast paced action and sometimes comical scene make you enjoy every minute watching it. The last 30 mins of the movie toward the ending, I chose to hold my bladder than to miss any second of it. Nice!
