So just finished watching this and I can't put a finger on what I feel about the ending. Probably one of my most loved series of all time. Learned something though... That time put things as it is because things happen for a bigger, better purpose. Oh it's me again having the melodramatic aftertaste. I'm just happy Sadie's alive.
So my reactions aside, I liked that way Jake and Sadie's emotions have been captured in what seemed to be the choice Jake made to end their relationship (and to avoid the butterfly effect) by letting go of Sadie's hand (actually and symbolically). It was just an abrupt mix of emotions in the middle where he went to the future and found out things didn't turn out right. But overall it was a joy to watch.
