This had one of my favorite episode openings ever in Mr. Robot. Irving is such a fun character, and his introduction scene captures his essence pretty perfectly.

While this is a good episode, it does have some weak points. I think both Elliot and Angela's delusions of grandeur are put so close to your face that they feel overdone at times, and at one point lead to a political rant that narratively doesn't age too well IMHO. Also, this episode sort of falls into "setting up the board" mode rather than allowing us to see plays being made, with characters' relationships to each other getting explained to both the audience and some of the other characters in one great big slow burn.

There is some great setup for what will happen next though, as we see Elliot becoming more forthright with his intentions regarding Stage 2, and Angela's story taking a somewhat interesting and unexpected turn. Plus, we see a bit of a stylistic shift from Esmail, as he uses some different cinematography methods such as zooming in and out from farther away, and a wider variety of camera angles.

Great episode, had some hitches but nonetheless thoroughly entertaining.
