Was it just me or couldn't they have tossed the rope around the pole and used it to shimmy down to the lower ladder? The same way that people climb palm trees. It would have been dicey but surely would have been doable.
@alphil1234 That's the first thing I thought when they got initially stranded up there. It's dumb.
