A movie about white girls doing white girl shit.
If you liked this movie, you should watch a drift aswell. It was getting me on the edge of the seat and the danger was real. I expected less.
Quite the butt-clenching, nail-biting, edge of your seat experience! It looked so realistic and the landscape was beautiful. The two leads did great. It does suffer from being overlong and lost some heat in the third act.
This movie is dumb.
Something else needs to be pointed out as well. They never show her getting off the dam tower. Lame ending.
Why didn't she just stuff the phone in the bird
why the fuck did i (someone with insane amount of anxiety) think it was okay to go see this movie LOL i’m so braindead
Was it just me or couldn't they have tossed the rope around the pole and used it to shimmy down to the lower ladder? The same way that people climb palm trees. It would have been dicey but surely would have been doable.
One of the worst films I’ve ever seen. First third was tolerable but then it descended into oblivion. All I could think about what my teenage son looking for a way to charge his phone. The only saving Grace was the slight but obvious twist near the end, but it wasn’t enough to redeem it from the eating of the vulture, which FTR is not to be done in real life at all costs, as it will make you violently ill. But Bex got down okay anyways. :joy:
I watched it on the plane. Never watch this on a plane.
I dont understand why they depiced these 2 as extreme climbers. The way they climbed the tower and how they acted is not what even a novice climber would do...
@DrewMarz - I had to re-read your comment to realize what you were actually saying, which is, that the movie actually got to you. Yes, it is as a fellow movie goer commented afterwards, "a bit silly in places", but, we both agreed that, the movie ratcheted up the tension and kept it there the whole time, and, there were several effective jump scares, (the first one was a doozy) and, the others were also effective, especially because of the "twist" in the ad poster. Some interpersonal drama weaves it's way into the tale toward the third act, but, it was done in a way that didn't break your suspension of disbelief, and actually pulled me into the story more, as I wanted to see how things would be resolved and if their "Besties" relationship could be saved. The two leads are believable, even when doing something as IMO stupid as climbing a rusty, decommissioned 2000' ft tower in the middle of the desert. But, the instigator in this drama is "that friend" who always talks folks into doing said stupid shizz, for giggles, grins, and the "Gram" or YouTube, yet, they always seem to come out unscathed.
We've actually had several instances of similar behavior IRL recently, one unfortunate soul shedding his mortal coil from 1000 or so feet up, and one near miss just the other day:

Silly Rabbits!!! But I digress. In any case, I found the story compelling, as well as @DrewMarz opined, "anxiety inducing" and, I learned that vulture "tastes like chicken" in a pinch. Jeffrey Dean Morgan leaves "Lucille" in the bat rack long enough to dispense some fatherly wisdom and tough (non-concussive) love, and, even though I sussed out the final twist several minutes before it was revealed, I still enjoyed the conclusion and resolution. I will say though that the writers miss a perfect opportunity to hat tip Chief Brody, and have one of the girls say, "we're gonna need a LONGER rope!".
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Fall’:
You reeeeeeeally have to suspend your disbelief watching this. These girls had the best upper body strength I’ve ever seen. But the moment that was the most difficult to swallow… a message on an iPhone, sent as text, immediately seen as not delivered, automatically sending when there’s signal.
It was fairly disappointing, at just a few minutes in, when we saw the interaction regarding a mysterious hand in Shiloh’s photo, that it was already a little predictable. It was clear that the hubby was a cheater. And Becky later took the news unrealistically well.
All the qualms aside, my body had a physical reaction to this movie. It spoke right to my fear of heights and did a solid job of freaking me out. My stomach was legit churning for much of the runtime.
Bonus Thought: I didn’t see that death coming. They got me there.
This was terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.
For someone who has severe acrophobia this was probably not the best film to watch as for the first part of the movie my face was hidden behind a cushion. However, this film does an incredible job at showing suspense and developing tension between the two titular characters.
Personally I do think the beginning is a bit silly. The main character loses her husband when he falls during one of their climbing journeys but then a year later climbs a much higher structure. As well Hunter is an absolute arsehole and horrible friend to make our protagonist climb this tower even though she shows clearly that she doesn't want to.
Having said that, the main portion of the film - the part where they were at the top of the tower was edge of the seat kind of stuff and surprisingly wasn't boring despite it being all in the same place.
This is a really amazing film - however I don't think I could ever stomach watching it again.
"Okay, you've done way scarier than this."
- Dan
No denying if you have any tiny fear of heights, this movie is nightmare-inducing. The other reason this movie will give you nightmares is the absolutely straight-laced routine story that feels like a template. Just enter new names and new locations and proceed.
Really too bad. Performances by Grace Currey and Virginia Gardener were just overwhelmed by the lack of reason to care. One small twist did give me hope, but it just felt planted and was not explored as it could have been.
Overall, watch it if you like that uncomfortable feeling of dread. I felt that at every second, someone was falling 2000 feet. That is my biggest fear, and I found myself holding onto my couch just in case.
This was a one-time watch with a hyper-obvious ending that cements why "influencers" in general should just go the way of the 8-track. Elite climbers? I think not. Idiots? Yes indeed.
I'm glad I didn't watch this in a theater, it would have been booted out for ongoing commentary during the movie. It really was that obvious. That, and I would have been pissed that I spent a boatload of money on this silly movie. By the halfway point I was already doing other things while half-watching this.
Did anyone NOT expect that she was seeing dead people on that pole for 2/3rds of the movie? After the first showing of the drone, was anyone surprised that it was going to be a plot point? Did anyone not expect that the entire "Apple charger in a light socket" wasn't going to be a big deal later on? Was there any reason, for the love of all that is civil, that she needed to slice up her friend to send the phone down when there was a perfectly good dead vulture right there?
Overall I think it was lazy movie making. Easy to guess plots, tiny cast, predicable outcome.
Very nice seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan here.
This film was so scary, raw, and realistic. I mean the way they stole that car, genius!
Literally the top 5 STUPIDEST MOVIES. This mixture of idiocy and feminism is uncanny. As expected men are either incompetent or bastards. Realism at zero,Those girls must be analyzed in a lab for their superhuman strength. especially when you see these two Thot chicks pulling eachother like it's nothing and climbing like Monkeys, with those tiny arms. :joy:. :joy:Only GenZ would consider this a movie and not a parody
Had some sweaty hands moments there, not gonna lie.
Similar format like "Frozen" but i think it was a bit better. I liked the twist, i really would have done the same thing with the second drop of the phone and i found it very clever. Of course none of the stunds they performed could be possible with their upper body strength, which was pretty obvious. No way she could pull up or climb up with one hand.
Entertaining and perfect amount of cleavage.
One of the dumbest movies I’ve ever seen. There were several ways for them to get out of that tower, for example using the rope to the antenna and from the antenna to the lower level where the external ladder ends, Hunter died of pure stupidity, she could have tied the rope to the ladder, not to mention the drama that no one cares about, they tried to make a movie about overcoming and even that was poorly done.
One of the stupidest films I've ever seen.
4.Even if one didn't have a gangerous wound they'd be long dead by the time they send a cheap drone way past its range.
5. Hunter is a terrible friend and you should hate her
6. You really wouldn't want to eat a raw vulture, they literally eat rotting flesh, you'd almost certainly get diarrhoea and die of dehydration.
I'm not anti dumb films but they do have to make some sense in the world they inhabit. This is absolute horseshit.
Asking myself why I watched this. It actually made me feel sick and a little sweaty. I won’t score this movie as I was behind a cushion for most of it.:nauseated_face::nauseated_face:
Some of the shots are vertigo inducing but it wasn't the cinematography that made me feel sick. It was the cliched script, dumb plot twist, and boring ending that made me want to faint.
lol these girls have super human strength, like being able to do one handed pull ups or pulling another human body 100+lbs of dead weight 30+ feet, all while not breaking a sweat.
The movie only works if you're a teenage girl who's never watched any tv or movie, ever, for the rest of us, well the constant boobs does help.
I find it hard to care about characters whose decisions are so questionable that they deserve their doomed fate.
At times, ‘Fall’ feels like a VOD movie, especially with the visual effects and greenscreen parts. Besides the main problem that the two characters face, being stuck 2,000 feet at the top of a remote abandoned radio tower, there’s a personal conflict between the two that I didn’t care about. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is also there but very briefly. I can tell he filmed all his scenes during the weekends, away from The Walking Dead.
However, one of the best praises I can give to this movie is that it did a brilliant job of triggering one of my deepest fears, which is heights, as my hands were sweating at times. I was never bored watching it. I know it was stupid going up the tower and ignoring all the red flags. On the other hand, the way the two main characters try to get help is clever and effective.
The film isn’t that bad.
Fall is the survival sub genre at its best. This feels like it should be a found footage film but I believe its sprinkled use of the technique was much more effective and practical. This film has a predictable plot and mediocre performances but overshadowing those are its adequate special effects, satisfying set ups and payoffs, a decent plot misdirection, and its genuinely terrifying premise.
Charging a phone like that, serious?
I've got a very healthy fear of heights and, at the very least, this film was effective at giving me some second hand anxiety. Unfortunately, second hand anxiety isn't enough to carry a feature film. The writing is melodramatic, the performances unconvincing, and the premise would probably be too thin regardless. It turns out that a single square meter set doesn't make for the most engaging film making. Who could have guessed. Admittedly, the writers make a valiant effort to find ways to fill out the time, even delivering an overused twist that I absolutely should have seen coming yet somehow didn't (I blame the aforementioned lack of engagement). Even in terms of spectacle the movie did very little for me. When the entire 360 degree backdrop is often just the sky, the visual interest isn't really there. In terms of the big set-piece "action" moments, there really were only two or three, with the rest of the film having to artificially generate tension through close ups on wobbling bolts and sweaty palms. A couple final miscellaneous points of criticism: (1) the opening sequence felt like a pretty direct rehash of Vertical Limit (2000); (2) suspension of disbelief was lost pretty quickly, with a complete disregard for realism at multiple critical points; and (3) the ending felt abrupt.
Like falling off a building, there are a couple of easy twists and any excitement is ruined by a bad ending.
The directing kept this interesting and the simple yet intriguing plot (two women are trapped atop a huge radio tower) kept it fun, but what the predicable twists didn't ruin, the rushed ending botched badly.
What is it with this torrent of crap movies about being trapped? Trapped in a room, house, cave, cabin, forest, tunnel, mountain and now up a pole! Is it a leftover from lockdown? Whatever the reason-stop! now! Predictable, boring and totally shit! I thought the seemingly endless run of movies about surviving against intruders, rednecks, drug gangs, etc,etc was as low as it could get, but these trapped rubbish are even worse! Especially as the characters are always so annoying you root for them to die, rather than escape! When the ladder gave way, at the start, the girl that fell should have pulled the other one off and saved an hour of viewers lives!
Anxiety inducing movie with a nice twist.
Initially I didn't feel like I wanted to watch this movie. Two skilled climbers go climb an abandoned tower and get stuck on top. It immediately reminded me of '43 meters down' but then I heard good things about it and that it had a nice twist so I caved.
I have to say it didn't disappoint. It's a thrilling, anxiety inducing movie that keeps that same feel throughout.
The twist was cool but not very shocking to me. When Hunter falls I immediately had my suspicions because I didn't imagine Becky being strong enough to pull her up and when she fell asleep and dreamed of the vultures I knew she was half out of it. Then the bag fell and it was absolutely clear to me.
The story had a nice pace. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Characters are relatable in the way that they show grief in their own different ways. Not in the way that I understand climbing that tower... I would never.
Hunter is probably meant to be unlikable because she cheated with her best friend's husband (fiance at the time). but I found her kind of cool. She is strong, quick and smart.
So actually a surprisingly good movie!
Alright, this one was pretty stupid. The obvious foreshadowing of the lamp phone charger, the shoehorned cheating plot, and the awful twist. The twist that Hunter was actually dead for some of that time came out of nowhere, and wasn't alluded to or set up cleverly, the film just blatantly lies to you. Add that all to the poor acting, hammy dialogue, and the fact that Becky barely cared about Hunter dying when she was so messed up from her husband's climbing death, all add up to make this film pretty sub-par. I will admit however that the tower sequences were pretty stunning, leaving me wondering how they were shot. I'd love to see a behind the scenes of how it was done, especially with this film's clearly low budget (Which apparently was only 3 million, I was right).
This movie could have been good, but it's not, not really. That's because the actresses have the range and charisma of a crumpled-up piece of paper, and the story is not great. However, it's watchable and quite tense.
My biggest beef is that the characters were incredibly stupid from the get-go under the guise of being "fearless". I feel this could have been set up without making them act so carelessly, especially given that they were supposed to have, like, experience climbing???
But as someone who is afraid of heights, I felt the tension. Watching these two girls moving around on a tiny platform 2,000 feet off the ground was nerve-racking for me personally and the twist near the end was good. Otherwise, it would've been a complete waste of time.
Anyone who's watched those videos of YouTubers scaling ridiculously tall buildings and abandoned structures will know the vertigo inducing sensation they produce; this movie thrives on that nail-biting, stomach turning sensation. It gets a little wild in the third act, but if you can stomach the craziness and the depiction of heights, Fall is a decent, dare I say unique, summer thriller.
Basically a good movie, my observation is that those who work at altitude always eye things over and notice rust and fastenings missing. You don't live long being careless.
I am still watching the movie, but a word of advice, don't eat while watching that movie because most likely you will end up sick lol
What my mum thinks I do when I go climbing
What if they have iPhone 14
A classic survivor/thrill movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire way, as two young female climbers take a big risk to climb one of the tallest cell towers in the world in order to soul search after a dear friend passed away. Unlike most survival movies the sentimental story behind this plot is a bit deeper than normal and ties the entirety of the film together really well. And there is a horror/gore aspect that was unexpected, but a bit over done. The one negative aspect of this film is that the climb and the fight for survival at the top take up basically the entire film so the ending was very rushed. Overall the sentimental tie in this story and the filming of the little details of the climb in order to foreshadow was incredibly well done.
I had legit sweaty hands the whole time they were up there. I enjoyed the show. Now, every time I pass a tower on the highway, I think of this.
No reason to rewatch, but definitely worth a watch.
I dunno... I have to give credit to a movie that can cause me this amount of stomach in mouth, edge of seat, on the verge of puking, anxiety....!! Seriously... "Not for the faint hearted" would be an understated warning.
Really liked the movie
Kept me on the edge of my seat
Didn’t feel boring even though I thought I would
This movie was something else. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Incredibly exciting and also acted quite well by the two main actresses. Highly recommended.
I don't know if this movie was made to show Virginia Gardner's t*ts or Grace Caroline Currey's t*ts....
It has it moments, but overall movie length could definitely be shorter. The landscapes are good, lol.
I wanted to watch "Fall" because of TikTok, another movie on my list. The setting seemed awesome, especially if it's real. Just think, being on top like that would be amazing. But when I watched it, I ended up sleeping through 20% of the film, right at the climax. It was okay, I guess. It didn't have any really intense moments that make you hold your breath. The plot twist was also just okay. I did like the beginning, but I kind of saw the ending coming.
Best... Best... Best... Best... Best...
this is my third time watching, on the first go it was great, second watch was good third made me realize it’s a bit stupid n i dislike hunter a lot
恐高症看得手心出汗~, watched at 2022-11-05, imported from douban
If you have acrophobia, don't watch this movie.
Fall is better than I expected. Yes, some aspects are ridiculous but the film accomplishes its purpose: induce anxiety.
My head got stuck to the fact they had a rope long enough to go through their feet, one girl on each side of the tube holding each other and climb down. Pretty much like in Asia or Africa, guys go up and down coconut trees shifting tension from legs to feet etc...
They are experienced climbers should be ok at least to try.
But never felt tense like this ever for any movie before....
Some elements struck me as rather unrealistic, yet overall, I'd say it's an excellent film, would recommend!
Solid movie. Like 47 meters but up
An amazing premise but whatever it was, I didn’t fully believe it was happening 2100 feet up.
Oh - and the last 20 minutes totally messed up whatever credibility it had remaining - I felt tricked.
That really wasn't bad at all. There are some roll your eye moments but overall it was fun. Also the twist really brought it home for me. Really a solid movie.
This movie is so damnnnn good!!! So simple yet so gripping!!! My altophobia just got worse now!
With not a fear, but terror, of heights...I had to pause the movie & wobble away a few times. Only took 2 days start to finish :joy::dizzy_face::dizzy:
Very silly story, but does manage to create some tension. Easy watch when you're feeling lazy.
Well.. I expected a.total.desaster from this one and it was an easy and ok watch at the end. Just go thru it like that and u r good.
Chills. Edge of the seat stuff.
I have never felt so uncomfortable watching any other movie, I had to look away from the screen on more than a couple of occasions.
The biggest problem this movie has though is the acting, it's inconsistent, JDM just seemed bored in the short amount of time he had and when the girls weren't being terrified they too seemed either bored or quite wooden.
The acting is only a minor gripe though, overall the film is intense and well worth a watch.
Alright, significant number of plot holes, either that or the characters were just plain thick
Great movie to watch the day before visiting Amsterdam lookout swings (google it) lol.
But it was an ok movie, good at some points. They really succeeded in capturing the heights for sure. Bit silly at times but overal I found it entertaining.
Seen The little trailer on Netflix and ended up watching it..Not gonna lie had me at edge with some parts..Even had my two little daughters watching it and they was even into it and they 5 & 6..Good movie.
I don't get the low ratings. Maybe it's just my fear of heights talking, but this was the best survival thriller I've seen in terms of raw terror and adrenaline.
The story was thin and the acting so so, but those are hallmarks of the genre. The camera work is fantastic, the sense of scale overwhelming, the danger relentless.
My stomach was in my throat the whole time and, let's be real - that's what I'm here for!
It's okay, I guess. I mean, I've seen worse.
It's true that it gets a good dose of suspense and adrenaline during the first part of the film, conveying the restlessness of the scenes at heights. But the staging and the visual aspect are above the null development of the characters and mediocre dialogues. There are predictable but well-functioning plot twists in this suspenseful piece that transposes the usual claustrophobic storytelling indoors to the restlessness of sprawling outdoors. But in the end it's not enough to create good suspense scenes, without holding them on a solid enough base so that it doesn't completely fall apart.
Great movie, amazing views that allow the viewer experience the climb as if they were there. I only question the battery life and charging time of all devices in it.
I was shocked in the first few minutes of the movie, an important event in the first few minutes was interesting. It had a simple but interesting story. Overall, it is an exciting movie.
Another of them 'couple isolated and trapped" movies .
If the background effects were better, this could have been a tense ride.
pointlessly includes the obligatory predictable miniplot. and magic phone batteries
Better than it should have been tbh. Not perfect, but solid tension and pretty anxiety inducing for acrophobics. A small story done pretty well. 6.5 for me.
It's a decent survival movie. The story is similar to a ton of other survival movies though.
The trailer for this movie was gripping. I was excited to see it, but I know it’s a movie I couldn’t grab someone else to. Fortunately, I got to watch this on my flight and was enthralled the whole time. It’s gripping like Buried or Oxygen or Frozen. Movies simply about survival with basically nothing. It’s nothing extra special compared to others mentioned, but it’s enjoyable and everything I wanted it to be.
Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching
I felt the fear from here lol
An excellent film, the protagonists left something to be desired in terms of charisma, but the film managed to hold me and the plot twist surprised me
The shots are well crafted, and I will give it to the movie for reigniting my agrophobia. But couldn't you have at least tried with the script.
The anxiety, the stress... I felt light headed at some moments! It was great! I just wish we saw the rescue. Other than that I had a great time.
Film really keeps you in the edge of your seat. the CGI was pretty decent, it get's a bit unrealistic at some points, but it does a good job regaining reality, a bit of gore present but not too much thankfully it had a decent ending.
Faire descendre le telephone au pied de la tour grace au drone non??
It’s like shallows but with cell phones with endless battery life
A solid version of this type of movie, I mean yea you can talk about how dumb the characters are, but that’s kind of the point. Also I’m sure it’s been mentioned but the most unrealistic part is the phone battery life.
8/10
'Fall uncut'
What a Thrilling Movie,
Didn't know what to expect but I must say I was very intrigued and I thought the plot was rather interesting.
Bravo to the performances of the two main leads
I absolutely loved the twist,
I'm a fan of anything like that
and that alone was the reason
i now own the uncut version
of this movie on Blu Ray,
It's definitely worthy
of being in my Multiverse Archives.
I like the 2 lead girls Becky and Hunter I thought they played their parts really well
and I get Daddy Winchester as
Becky's farther so that's a win.
The Cinematography was spectacular and
Breathtaking and the situation
was scary and horrible and
I really felt for everyone involved.
My Anxiety levels were off the
Charts all through the movie.
Great movie looking forward to
Multiple views.
Just a really well put
Together movie and
Very entertaining with
Some Awesome views
And solid acting.
Watching the dark haried girl and the blonde young reece whitherspoon dopleganger climb up the tower was fun and exciting. The views are height scare inducing and I've never seen a movie like this. Enjoyed it until the last 15 mins or so when it took a dark turn.
Pretty sure all budget was burned with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and VFX. Nice twist, cheesy ending. Good for a Sunday while browsing Reddit.
Anxiety inducing and able to keep you on the edge of your seat. Good all-round.
Actually cared about the characters halfway through when I was waiting for them to die in the beginning.
...and the only thing she climbed after that was into bed. Peer pressure and stupid decisions lead to more stupid decisions.
A good film. Good thriller, keeping you on the edge of your seat. While I watched this at home, I believe it would be even more immersive had I watched in the big screen.
CAUTION: If you have fear of rights, don’t watch this. It will really make you feel bad.
I have a fear of heights, so I knew that even though this is not a horror movie, I would feel uneasy watching this. It did not disappoint! My hands and feet were sweating most of the film. This is also not remotely realistic from a climber's perspective. The stupid stuff they do though is. Social media types die every year taking stupid selfies.
It’s was a pretty good entertaining movie to watch. Definitely shows it you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.
Fall is athletic and adrenaline filled. The story is simple and some scenes are laughably unrealistic, but and the message is clear- survival of the fittest.
Worth a watch,at least I now know where to charge my phone whenever it runs out.
I don't know why I'm so surprised this was good even though I went in blind, but it was REALLY GOOD.
:heart:x5
This movie is actually not that bad - it just wasn't my cup of tea.
I think this quite deftly demonstrates the problem with kids these days. From near-fatal accident early on in the movie due to using the phone while driving to the inevitable tragic end of the movie.
Granted, it does have a few pretty decent on-the-edge-of-your-seat jump-scares. But overall, just meh!
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

its stupid, but its really effective. specially in cinema. recommend for everyone who loves horror and has a fear of heights. its quite something different to be scared this way. could have been better for sure, but i really enjoyed it.
