Like an undelivered Valentine's day card, I don't get the love.
Full disclosure, I don't like musicals, and this is kind of why. First of all, I find the idea that people stop whatever they're doing and suddenly break into song and dance so artificial that it pulls me out of the film every time.
Honestly, the first two acts of this were bearable (especially as many of the songs are a natural part of the story, like people singing at a birthday party).
But then, when they decide to change the movie within the movie to a musical and just track on random musical crap with no relationship to the story in progress, Singin' in the Rain lost me.
(Still, I had no idea that Downton Abbey: A New Era stole their entire central plot from this movie! Crazy stuff.)
