@finfan I really liked this episode. It was nice to see the training of Wesley. As a Star Wars fan, it was something I wanted to see in the Prequels: watching Anakin make difficult choices during his training at the Jedi Academy. Choices that change a person.
I also liked the fact that this episode was about choices. For Wesley and Picard.
The news that something is wrong in Starfleet was interesting. I hope the writers had the chance to develop the issue.

@andreas1138 I am happy to see that you like that many episodes of the first season. Most people, when they watch for the first time, don't think too much of the show. That included me way, way back at the end of the 1980s. But with every time I saw it I liked those episodes more.

@finfan It has elements I liked from the original series: interesting characters, nice relationships between them and curious plots. I am captured by the fact that I feel like I am in the spaceship with the crew, since the universe that was built for the show feels kind of realistic.
A connection I also felt with Star Wars when I was little.
The writing is not trivial. It's so relaxing to see people caring for each other, instead all the hate we see in new shows.

I don't think I can put enough emphasis on the fact how much I like what you've said here.
This is why I can always go back and watch Star Trek. Many of today's show are trying to gain viewers by adding up on sex and violence. Telling a good story is becoming less and less relevant .

I am happy that we agree on this point! I specify that I like the respect and the collaboration between the characters, a trait I see on the show The Orville. Many series these days show us people hating each other, it seems the concept of a team is difficult for them to accept.

It's true that, in real life, we often have to deal with people who don't like us, people that think they are better than us... but it's something I struggle to see on a movie or a show, otherwise it's not a pleasure to escape reality, at least once in a while.
Plus, we already discussed that Star Trek tries to image a better humanity for the future and part of this evolution is the kindness for all people and aliens.
