Well, this was a very sad and frustrating finale to what was shaping up to be the best season of The Magicians yet. I agree with the other comments, this was a middle finger to the audience, as they've just hit reset on the whole storyline, instead of giving it a proper conclusion and moving things forward from there. I'm deeply disappointed.
Also, it has become clear that the show runners have no clue about what to do with Alice (since she remained dead in the books). Once the most powerful and mysterious character of the whole gang, she's now the most useless and uninteresting character of the season. She's been relegated to being a whiny bitch (at least they've locked her in a room until next season, thank Heavens). Also also, where's Marina? Damn you, for teasing her return and then not giving her any more screen time!
I love this show, but this episode has definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth. That's no way to wrap up a wonderful season.
