Well, this was a very sad and frustrating finale to what was shaping up to be the best season of The Magicians yet. I agree with the other comments, this was a middle finger to the audience, as they've just hit reset on the whole storyline, instead of giving it a proper conclusion and moving things forward from there. I'm deeply disappointed.
Also, it has become clear that the show runners have no clue about what to do with Alice (since she remained dead in the books). Once the most powerful and mysterious character of the whole gang, she's now the most useless and uninteresting character of the season. She's been relegated to being a whiny bitch (at least they've locked her in a room until next season, thank Heavens).
Also also, where's Marina? Damn you, for teasing her return and then not giving her any more screen time!
I love this show, but this episode has definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth. That's no way to wrap up a wonderful season.
I will agree with other comments that the episode felt rushed. However I think some are missing the point. Some questions Went unanswered because the questions don’t really matter. We are shown that the gods don’t really have A vested interest in this world. It’s just one of an endless number permutations. All the weird things that of happened in this world are just random, and don’t really mean anything. The fallen God’s like umber And the others are just drop outs that couldn’t hack it with the transcending gods creating new worlds. If a monster is released that destroys this world it’s likely of no consequence to the most powerful gods.
Man, Alice is really starting to piss me off! Her voice has become whiny and annoying, and she is nothing more than a selfish that. This whole episode felt like a middle finger to the audience, and you can tell that they were trying to hold things off, but had to cram it all on at the end. season finale is rushed, very poor execution..
Great season, terrible finale, terrible cliffhanger too. Wow. Way to mess everything up.
I felt really let down by this finale. It felt like characters fell back into their season one behaviour, erasing all the progress they've made. I don't mind Thanos-style twists, but they need to feel earned. This one was clearly setting up the stage for season four, but there are more elegant ways than this.
A seasons finale shouldn't make you angry.
There should be characters you love and characters you love to hate.
This season broke both rules.
The season wasn't bad, but the finale just sends you into a rage. Stories should have some form of reward/punishment for the characters involved - giving us hope for the real life.
Even most tragedies have some form of a silver lining.
But this season?
Two protagonists turn antagonist and the heroes get f***d.
Really don't know if i want to watch season 4 or just spare myself the disappointment.
Way to ruin a good show with a single Episode!

Wow, I really don't get all the hate this episode gets! I can remember the first time I saw this episode & all I wanted to do was watch the next one right away, I was so hyped & scared & intrigued!
I don't understand the purpose of anything that happened this season. Also. they should have left Alice dead. She's the worse
