The Walking Dead

Season 7

Season 7 starts with a bang. Rick continues to be the weak, bungler of a man he's always been. His son has more idea of surviving than his dead loss dad will ever have. Even while Rick's crew were being battered and bruised by Negan's folks only his boy appeared remotely understanding of the horrors he was witnessing. He'd seen it all before and was hardened to it. Rick should let his son take over command as soon as humanly possible

The one running disappointment I have of the series continues unabated. The writers seem determined to create characters who are utterly incompetent or useless and put them in situations that are obviously dangerous. I'm not suggesting we see ninja septuagenarian grannies but why oh why do we need to witness 20-something Americans incapable of firing a gun or wielding an axe? If there weren't twice as many guns in the USA as people it'd be plausible for few to have never held a gun but the fact the country is one giant munitions dump it does make the scripts sillier than they need to be.

Kirkman wanted a story to go on and on just like real life. Season 7 continues to deliver on that score. We've seen it all before but it's still enjoyable to watch. How many more seasons will it continue? At least one more that's for sure.

@bigbear63 This series is also about humans (a few) questioning their actions. And it may be a surprise to you, some humans are uneasy with killing even if able to handle weapons. Some even don't want to handle weapons ethically.
People maybe able to deal with weapons in peace times, but most will fail in tough situations or war. It's called "display pattern". Later "Tired of war".
Still this season is bad.
