Hands down the best surprise I’ve got in TV in years. This final episode was extremely emotional... much more than I expected. We really need more shows like this one. Fingers crossed for a season 2.
Hell yeah! #RenewTimeless. I know networks prefer procedurals, reality shows and Shonda Rhimes “shows”, but Timeless is a living proof that we can have top-notch quality sci-fi on the big networks. The last 30 seconds made me jump from my seat and that has not happened in a really long while. I know that whole season was already a miracle, but I really do hope we’ll get a third season, even if it’s another half-season (less episodes, better quality, works for me).
Also, Lucy might have become one of my favorite characters. :)
After treating Karev like crap, now it’s the turn of DeLuca who’s getting completely destroyed. I can’t believe that Schmitt became the only somewhat interesting character in this show - despite the fact that all his “gay” storylines are stereotypical.
Can Grey’s Anatomy hires writers who do not despise male characters?
Apparently, the writers of the show decided that this week, HTGAWM should be a telenovela. What will be the next “jaw-dropping” revelation? Maybe Oliver is actually a time traveller from a parallel universe where Annalise is actually a good person. Or maybe Asher was actually a woman stuck in a man’s body? We all knew that the title of this episode was a joke and that Shonda would never allow Sam to be a good guy. So these are 42 wasted minutes.
The best 1-hour pilot I’ve seen in almost 10 years.
Except a few stereotyped characters (which reminded me of Glee, and not in a good way), everything was brilliant. Amazing actors. Amazing music. Predictable plot but Jane Levy is so perfect in that role that I completely forgot What/If (and that’s a good thing).
What concerns me is that one month gap between the pilot and the second episode. That is how you kill a show. This time gap and complete lack of promotion is how we lost gems like Firefly in the past.
I do not want this show to end. Television needs this. For once we don’t have a procedural, a reboot/remake or a SJW superhero show (looking at you, the CW). NBC has just lost The Good Place. They shouldn’t lose this show as well.
Oh. And best moment of the show: True Colors. Hands down.
One of the best TV shows currently airing... and renewed for a fourth season. Yay!
That season has been perfect so far. Wasn’t sure about the show during the first season but glad I stayed. The cast has an amazing chemistry and the one liners are to die for.
So next episode is the 100th? What a ride it’s been so far.
Glad to see the team back on Earth, still wondering what they have in store for the rest of the season. I sense a Thunderbolts vibe but we’ll see what happens. It’s still a pleasure to watch this show, and that’s what truly matters.
Also: Zeke arrives on earth, first thing he visits is a bar. How not surprising. :)
Ironic how everyone at the hospital suggest that Webber has Alzheimer’s when Katherine forgot that she still hated Richard a few episodes ago, and Amelia completely forgot she already went through a pregnancy while she was on Private Practice. At least we’re finally done for now... until next season.
Most watchable episode of the season so far. I admit it was even enjoyable at a few moments, the Alice/Tilly part being done in a true OUAT way.
Why is that episode so good? Not a single scene with Jacinda. She’s nowhere to be seen, which is a proof that her character is what caused this season’s downfall, and probably the show’s demise. Dana Ramirez’s character is rye one that killed Heroes years ago; same thing happened here.
Hopefully the final episode will be about Henry realizing he’s been dreaming that whole year and that he never left Storybrooke, living happily ever after with... er... any Disney princess still available. Moana? Lilo? Andy from Toy’s Story? Or let him stay single, as long as Jacinda never happened. Best happy ending possible.
This episode brought the show to a new level of epicness, as comparable as the TV show Popular (Ryan Murphy’s best show, by a very long shot). It would be a crime not to renew it for a second season.
This is, without any doubt, one of the best episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in years, if not the best. I will seriously miss this show, and I'm starting to wonder if we couldn't get a spin-off on Disney+, or even better, have a Daisy/Quake appearance in a MCU movie. Can't believe there is only four episodes left.
What was the point of turning Michaela into a cheater? And with a guy from Scandal we’ll never see again?
The crossover made sense but there were way too much fan service... and not done the right way. Still mostly watch it for the Keating 4 but Annalise, just like Olivia, became so predictable that even the twists and turns of the episode weren’t surprising.
On the plus side, the Supreme Court scenes were nicely done. Though I’m seriously questioning the message of the episode - and the show in general. Well. I shouldn’t have such big expectations. It’s entertainment after all.
So... Now we know why Justin Chambers quit the show. Shonda was out of interesting storylines for him and decided to send him off through a clip show. Huge wasted opportunity here: if Justin wanted to go, he could have been fed up with the way he’s treated in Seattle, find an opportunity in a great hospital and take Jo with him. This would have been one less annoying character on the show.
Alex Karev’s journey should have ended years ago - just like the show. No wonder he wanted to leave. And Shonda treated him just like all the actors she’s tired of working with: an expedited send-off who might look sweet but is unfair to the character. Alex did deserve a happy ending. Just not this way.
Still wondering why I’m watching that show. It’s not even a guilty pleasure at this stage. Just a perfect way to learn how not to develop storylines and characters. Sure, it’s a “drama” but some of these doctors should have been fired many times. It’s amazing how Bailey still has a position when you know she’s having mental breakdowns at least twice a year. And everytime a hospital closes down or gets bought by Catherine Fox, a new competition suddenly appears in town. And let’s not talk about the discrimination doctors (and even patients) face every episode now.
The show I used to like to watch has been gone for long... probably since Denny’s last appearance. Or maybe that big shooting episode. Once again, no wonder Justin wanted to leave. He deserves better than this. I’m not not optimistic about seeing him somewhere else anytime soon. When you play the same character for fifteen years, having a real career afterwards is not easy. Especially when you played a character that had a lot of potential but has been poorly written and developed for years.
Next steps: making DeLuca despicable for no reason; giving Bailey a mental breakdown four of five times every season; making Catherine Fox buying all the hospitals in the West Coast so she’ll have a franchise even more developed than In-and-Out burgers, and then having a spin-off on Maggie (wait, that would actually be a good thing, especially if she quit the show with Jackson).
Shonda. Once again, thank you for showing us how not to develop characters for the TV. Truly appreciate it.
Wow. Bailey is definitely one of the worst characters of the show. She’s only beaten by Jackson and Maggie, which must be the couple with the least chemistry in TV history. I mean, even Rachel and Joey on Friends made more sense (...yeah. maybe not.)
The “god” just seems a rip-off from that dude in Supernatural, I guess we’ll see him out pretty soon. As for the other new guy, well it “only” took 15 seasons to introduce an openly gay male regular character (not counting the bartender, who happened to be gay just for the purpose of a storyline).
Still don’t understand why I’m watching that show. Oh yeah. To hopefully see a happy ending for Meredith. Might not happen anytime soon...
One more detail that I’ve just learned. Years ago, when Heigl said she was sorry for her behavior and that she would open to the idea of coming back anytime, Shonda said “I’m done with that plot”. Looks like she completely lied and did her best to find the worst exit possible for Alex Karev. Between him, Arizona, April and of course Derek... When Shonda isn’t happy, she just sends off tte character without any concern for the fans. I hope Meredith leaves soon, so I can stop watching that horrible show without any regret.
So McWidow is the “new” Karev for good? Wow. Shonda never ceases to disappoint me. Wait, that’s not news. Now that Karev is gone for good (apparently) and that they’re completely destroying DeLuca’s, the only watchable character is Meredith herself. Maybe they should have stopped this show, like, nine or ten years ago.
So it looks like everyone is blaming DeLuca. Well, I’m gonna blame Meredith. She really played both guys and in my opinion she doesn’t deserve any of them. But at least we got more Andrew time, which was perfect.
Also, Shonda, if you read this, stop doing those “fast-forward” episodes. I had no time to build any connection with the patient of the week/winter. So I didn’t had any empathy for what happened. I guess we won’t have a Denny-like patient anytime soon...
I really enjoyed this pilot, good thing it’s one of the very few new shows i was looking forward to. Question is, will it survive past season one? I’m afraid it will become one of these great promising sci-fi shows that end up on a cliffhanger...
It was go good to see the “real” Henry again. Tilly is definitely the best new character of the season. I still hope that “Walking Dead” Henry and Cinderella 2.0 are the reason why this season has been so bad that ABC decided to axe the show. The reboot was a scary idea, but without those two actors, it would have been something great.
When it comes to political issues, Shonda is as subtle as a drunk on the dance floor. Predictable from start to finish, like every “political” plot of the show. Let’s go back to what Grey’s Anatomy used to be: a good medical drama. Nothing more.
Meredith’s storyline was ok. The rest can be completely forgotten.
I miss the good old days of the show, when we had more "crazy cases of the week" and less social justice drama. Shonda used to create nice and interesting dynamics. Looks like she definitely lost her touch.
Geez. When I thought that Leif’s storylines couldn’t get worse. Remove every single scene involving him and you have one of the best episodes of this season.
I found the show extremely interesting... until this episode. The guy who’s complaining about giving up theatre after high school and ended up owning a barber shop... has been actually in local theatre productions for at least five years, if not more. That puts the integrity of the entire show in jeopardy. Too bad.
Herrera, in 42 minutes, was more interesting than Bailey’s husband in 42 seasons. Glad we won’t he seem again (fingers crossed). Might not watch the spin-off since Shonda’s new shows have been pretty bad so far. Dark April is just a stupid (and very predictable) plot but at least that gives her a storyline away from Jackson.
Is it me, or is Shonda is using COVID to put Meredith off the show, along with a couple characters who only revolve around her like DeLuca? If she’s about to see former characters in her “limbo” state, I’m looking forward to her seeing Derek again, holding his hand and judging the mess that is this hospital from up above. A bit like Gossip Girl meets Drop Dead Diva.
I am conflicted. This finale reminded me of Scandal. Both shows should have ended a couple seasons before, because absolutely no twist was surpising anymore. So goes life in Shondaland, I assume.
The first season of the show, and even the second one, were amazing. It's sad to see how a show with such a great potential became so disappointing. On the other end, I must say that Connor and Oliver might be one of the rare interesting LGBTQ couples on TV, evolving from being a basic stereotype to something meaninful and even inspiring. That is the key element of a Shonda show: secondary characters can be hidden treasures and steal the show. Maybe we could expect a spin-off in a few years? I'd be totally on board.
Also. For all TV show producers out there: please, please trop the "19 years later" scenes. It worked brilliantly in Six Feet Under. It stopped working since then. By the way, for everyone saying that HTGAWM has the best series finale in History, I kindly invite you to (re)watch this gem.
Still amazed by the choices for the songs. They absolutely nailed it with The Sound of Silence. I hope they will release a soundtrack at the end of the season. As for this ASL performance... Geez. Two of the most emotional TV moments of 2020 in less than thirty minutes. Absolutely stunning.
Only part of the episode I didn’t like was that tiny but still annoying reference about white privilege. Come on, you’re one of the best shows out there, don’t act like you’re being controlled by Shonda Rhimes.
Another bad episode. I am now sure that GA’s writers hate their characters and make turn them as bland and predictable as possible.
Maeve is awesome. Vincent Cassel, much less. I completely forgot he got a role in the third season. Well, he can only play manipulative assholes so we already know where his story’s going. (Sigh)
Still trying to figure out how an Italian village occupied by Nazis would make sense. France, sure. The Netherlands or Poland, hell yes. But Italy? Really?
