Netflix really dropped a soap opera in the middle of a heist with a gay guy running after a girl
It had some really weak dialogue but is good overall and has some nice cinematography
The fact that one of the first shots is a quote from Wikipedia says a lot about this movie. Is it a good movie? HELL NO! Is it really really fun to watch and random? FUCK YEAAAAH!
So if you are looking for an entertaining piece of Trash Horror, this is the movie for you, but if you want something good and artful, well ... maybe not so much.
I love that they finally have Tek Knight fucking things, it always made me laugh in the comics
Well, I finally watched this classic.
It started slow (the first 40 minutes), and the rest of the movie isn´t exactly fast either, I think it might have been a movie, that concentrated a lot on its visuals because they were groundbreaking at the time, but nowadays we can´t really appreciate it anymore, since Technology and Visuals have evolved a lot. But the "waiting" is definitely worth it, as it addresses a problem that only gets more and more important with time, the rise and danger of technology, and now, with the rise of AI, I think no it is now more relevant than ever before.
Sooo, in my opinión this is just a brutal superheroes show. The boys used to Make fun of this kind of Genre, but in my opinion they have now become it. But we’ll see what the next episodes bring.
Still a good show
The style is really interesting, I would say that I like it. But I think it might be good, that it's a short movie, because it is a bit exhausting to watch it
To be honest the first half kind of bored, so it's off to a slow start, but it pays out, because the second half has amazing tactics and at the end the plot is fast, surprising and well crafted.

I am rewatching this right now, because ther TV-Show is about to drop and it´s been a long time since I watched it.
Let me start with the good things:
The special effects are not bad, they are not really good either, but espacially for that time I quite like them. Sooo that was all the good things, now let´s start with the bad things.
There are like the half of characters and Story Arcs missing, I mean in the books we have three villains which are really complex, and in the movie we have one and he we don´t know why he is doing this, what motivates him or have any background at all.
Overall, the script is really bad, but the delivery is definitely worse.
And don´t get me started on Grover, he is just a comic relief and has no actual purpose to the story, how could they do this to one of the main characters???
Oh and how come none of these characters were given any personality???
I really like the cinematic, editing and narrating style of this show, it's kind of unique but I also can imagine that it will get really tiring...

I don't really love the show, but this one lives up to the boys
I love seeing movies with a big plot, like this for a second time, because you know how the movie ends you are looking for signs and there are some, you can find hints that you would never notice at the first time.

WHO? Your BROTHER? You and your brother are straight out of Game of Thrones
I love this movie so much, for my it feels like a giant Set up, it only prepares the story, it places the ball and I can´t wait to see how Villeneuve will kick the ball (hopefully in Part 2). I have a feeling, that we are only going up from here and with the Greatness of Part One that makes me so excited...

It's not a great movie and in my opinion overhyped, but it is different and that is something, it is different than any movie I ever saw and that is really rare
5/10 is already generous. I discovered the soundtrack on Spotify, watched the trailer, watched it and was disappointed. Stay with the music, nothing original
I loved every minute of it until I watched it a second time. Don´t get me wrong, this movie is great, but as soon as I watched it a second time it was, like Padraic, dull. Every minute felt like a drag and it progresses really slowly. And that's ok because when something happens it´s brilliant and so you´re just excited for what comes next. And of course, the slow pace of the movie is connected with the slow pace of life on a small island like this. But I think it´s getting worse if you watch it again.

I have to say that I really love the narrating, I mean it's unique. If I wanted to have only the facts I can read the Wikipedia Article, or there are other ways.
It is a great movie, but the Problem is that it is the movie, that made Marvel Mainstream and now Marvel has become a audience pleaser. That’s just my opinion, of course I`ll keep on watching everything from Marvel, but I just don‘t have the same feeling with e.g. she-Hulk or Professor Hulk and the old „Hulk Smash“ Hulk.

I would give anything to see the first scenes when you don't see Gatsbys face for the first time again.
By the way, what would you think if the entire movie was cut, so that you don't see Gatsbys Face until that last scene when Gatsby is already dead and Nick sees him one more time on the dock? It's just a thought, but I think it would have been great.
I don't know what makes this movie so great, but it just is. Maybe it's the perfect acting between Maguire and Gatsby. But it isn't just them, the entire cast seems just perfect. The music may be a bit modern for the 1920s but I don't think it has to be like that, because the music underlines the movie great. If I would tell anyone about the movie, they probably wouldn't understand what makes this movie so perfect, but it just is. It really is magical, and it doesn't need any fancy story to be that.
