Yeah! Let's run one after another into the dark cave where the enemy led us. What could possibly go wrong?
In terms of acting and writing (and pretty much everything), this show is outstanding! And it just seems to be getting better and better.
"He is my son!"
"Those are my children!"
I feel so sorry for Ulrich. They got him seem totally insane.
WOW. My mind may need approx. 33 years to recover from all these events and revelations on the season. No need to say more really, but let's just say the second season was much much better than the first one. I'd say the bar is set pretty high for the third season.
What a season finale! I'm not quite sure if my mind can take the third season, but I'm certainly ready to try. And that ending...
"The question isn't from what time but from what world."
This show just keeps surprising me with its twists, which is why I love it so much!
'An Endless Cycle' – I think the title says it all. What an episode! At this point, I have no idea whose side should I be on, Claudia, Adam or Noah perhaps. Also, if you haven't noticed already, the casting for this show is so damn good. The old Magnus is perfect!
Because trying to remember the characters from two generations was not enough. ":D" Anyways, this episode was shockingly good. Wow!
None of the characters in this show know how to lock/close the frickin doors lol
This may be the best episode so far! Great intensity, many new hints to the keys to this mystery, and a slight touch of a creepy feel as well (the ticking scene). I enjoyed every bit of this, and I guess I can't resist watching all the rest at once.
Hope this season stays on the track till the end and provides rewarding final episodes.
Well, the quality on this season didn't stay consistent all the way through, but I think overall this was a good season. I was a bit afraid with all the hype, but the first episodes sparked my interest immediately, and I'm glad the story managed to give even more than what the premise led me to expect.
To me the execution just wasn't quite as good as it could have been. The season had some good high points, tense and emotional episodes, but besides, there were some plot holes here and there, some mediocre acting, and it was also fairly slow-paced and dumb at times.
However, I mostly liked this and hope there will be a second season. I'd say this season didn't set the bar too high for the next one to be even better, and I'm really looking forward to what they have to offer.
Netflix categorizing this show as 'ominous' couldn't be more correct.
Wow. Spears really is the only rationally thinking person there. This episode was just boring and full of stupidity. So many senseless decisions were made. I just can't...
Just 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting for something to happen, and when something finally happens, the movie ends.
I'm really impressed. Great start to the 2nd season.
"Will there be more of them?"
"I hope so."
I think he wants there to be more of them also so that the bloodshed at the bar would involve something a lot bigger and it is not just a meaningless small-town strife. To feel that what he did there wasn't "for nothing".
I liked this, fun and easy to watch, and an interesting start to a whodunit story. The cast is fine as well, I think the three work well together.
This left me with a positive impression and I can't wait to see where the story goes. I just hope there's a rewarding ending.
Not too bad start for the season. Good thing that the zombies are fast. I also like the way the characters were introduced, the timeline worked well. The characters, on the other hand, are not that interesting. I like "Spears" though, he seems the most interesting one.
Like for real, what were the writers thinking? I think they should have left Alice to the past and rather gone much deeper into Jeremy's storyline, which now just seemed too empty and shallow. Or come up with something else, something fresher.
Almost every single "plot twist" and death on the season were predictable, and because of that they didn't seem very dramatic to me. Halliday's death came out of the blue but still.. was it really necessary?
To me, the season started really promisingly but ended up being just "meh". It wasn't too bad, but I just didn't enjoy it very much.
Not perfect but a good start to the series! Just the right amount of creepy feel and mystery. Haven't read the book, so it's very interesting to see where this is heading.
Great start for the show! After the first snowy scene, I was already sold. Solidly entertaining from the start and kept me interested throughout the episode. Pacing was just right, acting was ok, and the cgi monsters weren't too bad either. I also liked that it had some comedic elements, which just worked surprisingly well. I may have chuckled a couple of times watching this.
I literally had no idea what this show was about when I started the first season. I thought I'm about to watch just some dark-themed crime series but no.. not even close. It's a masterpiece. Outstandingly written and acted. Also, the soundtrack is brilliantly picked! This is easily one of my all time favorite shows from now on. I'm so happy I chose to watch this.
Update after watching the series finale:
After the second season, when I wrote this review the first time, I had dropped one star because of the complexity. Yes, I struggled a lot trying to remember who everyone was, and it didn't really get much easier until the very last episodes. The character relations in this show are something else.
But now, after seeing the finale, I think this show definitely deserves 10 out of 10. The final season provided a very satisfying ending for the show. And piece by piece, they actually managed to untangle the complexity in a wonderful way. Kudos to the writers for creating such a clever, complex yet still surprisingly clean story. And without forgetting to mention, the story truly lived up to its name. It is dark, very dark but still beautiful.
The first 15 minutes were enough for me. Absolutely terrible.
This season has really brought the show back to life. Again, a really good episode. It was still not perfect, but THAT scene truly was something! It was so well done. I also like the fact that they went a bit different with this plot twist compared to comics. I'm so glad Henry's gone. FINALLY! I just wasn't a fan of that character, and I know I'm not alone with this.
Wow! An incredibly comfortable viewing experience. Good storyline and lots of wonderfully made scenes. Also somewhat touching. I'm so glad I watched this. I strongly recommend!
An interesting peek behind the scenes, the technology and amount of work behind this series is incredible. This is definitely worth watching, but beware, it contains spoilers for the first season.
Already two great episodes in a row. Hopefully the season will go on like this, or even better.
Wow. It was hard to watch, but fortunately it was just over 70 minutes long. To me it felt childish and boring. Not that I expected more of it. Still gave me a couple laughs. Please shut your brain off before watching, then there's a slight chance you could enjoy it.
Actually not too bad. The acting was decent and the plot worked just fine although I expected more from the ending. Overall, a pleasant watching experience.
The 9th season is back, and I gotta admit that for a long time, this show hasn't looked and felt this good. Though it's not pure perfection, I really like the direction, where the show is going.
Clearly, The Whisperers are here to stay. And I'm glad they are because I think they are truly reviving this already half-dead show. And, in addition, they are really well implemented. Great job!
Looking forward to the next episodes!
Frankly, quite a disappointment. Not as horrifying as I expected based on the trailer. The subject is interesting, but the execution is very ineffective and lazy. After seeing the final scene, it seemed that the filmmakers ran out of ideas. Although the plot was pretty poor, the actors did a good job. I also got to agree with that, yes, this is more of a psychological thriller than horror. Maybe should watch it another time to get more of it. However, I don't want to diss it too much. It was just very much different from my expectations. Certainly a much more rewarding experience for someone else.
"Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?"
I think the show lost its grip this season. I like the characters but I wasn't fully invested in the whodunit storyline which just wasn't executed as well as previous seasons. It was still fine and there were some quite enjoyable and fun parts. Hope they can step it up for the next (and hopefully the last) season.
It's a love story and a pretty poor one. The storyline was not very gripping or interesting. I'll probably have forgotten this film by tomorrow. Can't recommend.
