"The Americans" did it better.
The production is top-notch, but it's so boring. I need entertainment.
In a sea of subpar production of TV shows par the dozen, to have something of such quality as Shogun is a breath of fresh air. Finally, something original and bold.
The visual effects leave much to be desired, giving the series an unpolished B-movie feel. The direction falls short as well. In contrast, the adaptation of another game, The Last of Us, sets a significantly higher standard.
Edit:
Upon viewing more episodes, my initial impressions remain regarding the direction and at times, the storytelling which can be a mess. However, the series begins to improve as it delves deeper into character development.
Edit2:
Yeah, after watching the whole show, it's definitely worth a watch, I really loved it at the end. The display of the depravation from corporations is not something I expected and it's done beautifully.
You get seppuku! You get seppuku! Everybody gets seppuku!
It's becoming a little on the nose and ridiculous... Otherwise, super episode and show!
Everybody is the main character except the Master Chief.
they don't have flashlights in Halo ?
the daddy issues from Kentaro are annoying as hell, they are all annoying actually
after two episodes, the series feels very weak. The pace is slow and the acting bad.
That speech by Luthen was everything I needed :fire:
The CGI is awful but when you read how they treat their workers at Disney and Marvel, you understand.
I put it on *2 speed to get through it.
I just want to say that Jon Bernthal is fantastic.
they think every episode must end with a big reveal...
We don't make shows like that anymore. A true, coup de coeur.
So disappointing. You could see coming that the escape was planned by Hale.
The last message by Caleb to her daughter was misused. It fell flat in the end. The combat scenes were a joke with all the gun point holding, it's ridiculous. At least, Maeve is back.
I'm sick of the twist inside the twist, and everyone is a host now. I'm no longer surprised by their attempt of a surprise...
He has seen a thousand possible futures. Like Paul Atreides :p
"Heck, the department of Sanitation has it under surveillance"
Even though I went through a recap on Youtube, I don't remember which consciousness is in which host. I don't even understand why this show exists anymore.
1 mission, 3 dead. The track record of Pike is getting bad. I wouldn't go with him lol
I don't understand why WARCOM had to be bribed by Horn if the order to test the drug was legal ? Because if they are not involved, there is not any cover up needed...
Chris Pratt is not that good... but I like this kind of show with a modern setting and the atmosphere. It lacks impactful characters tho even if I love Taylor Kitsch (Texas Forever) and some clichés (Middle East bad people, all military with PTSD, etc.).
It's so weird to see Muslims being represented in the media, not negatively. It's so refreshing, and it allows sharing some traditions people don't get to see. Even though I'm not Pakistani, it's very welcoming to see something positive for a change. I'm learning to about south Asian culture at the same time. Great show and something original for once!
The best last five seconds ever
yes, please, no more Kwan storyline.
Josha Stradowski, the guy playing Rand couldn't act even to save his life, he is awful. The production value is great tho, but the VFX are quite bad.
Zoey head looks like she's an alien lol
Why does Sonequa Martin-Green always whisper when she talks, it's annoying.
if his new therapist has anything to do with his mom, I'm done with this show, it's ridiculous
