Oldskool Hardcore Punk, who also is an avid Movie & TV Show fanatic (as long as I like them of course). It's more than only watching episodes and films : professionally I'm an allround IT specialist wide a wide interest in IT general.
So I combine both what I love and what I like, and have a huge database of facts, metadata, artwork and automate every single thing, from collecting data, to storage on several in-home server/network, develop the mediaplayer myself (looks as also scraping data & intelligence in storing, collecting etc.). It's by now a huge system which is in constant development. I can use any PC, server, smartphone, tablet, laptop, TV, A/V hardware, etc. to do everything and watch or stream, or cast any video/audio anywhere (even over internet via self maintained cloud system).
It's in constant development and automates really everything up til ordering box-sets when released and belong to my favourite-list :-)
TV Shows :
I check the pilot out for the vast majority of tv shows coming out from US/UK/Nordic countries/NL & steaming websites, as long as the show meets some basic rules (and of course there are SOME exceptions, but only if really high quality) :
* no reality shows (unless docu-style & subject speaks to me)
* no afternoon talk-shows,
* no late-night right winged political dribble,
* no game shows,
* no sports-shows,
* no kiddie stuff,
* no non-adult cartoons,
* etc...
The vast majority of shows end right there (a lot of them I do not even watch the complete pilot episode - what's bad is bad). A small portion of the shows, move on to the next round, which is the next episode : at least 50% of the shows, get dropped by me, but if it wasn't bad I will check the third episode as well.. if that passes my judgement, I usually will follow that show up til it ends or gets canceled, and keep track of everything.
Last few months I've been using Trakt to build up my history of what I watched and will watch in the future, because it's a great website with a great API and many standard libraries can connect, so it is becoming pretty much the standard hub. While I add more and correct little flaws, I'm nearing the point of only having to add TV Shows I watched from before 2013, and maintain the new shows & episodes. Movies :
Also love movies, but I'm not really fanatically tracking what I watch on this site.
The moment I have my TV Show database and data 100% correct, I will update my history of movie-watching & collecting here as well, but it's no priority for me, since my mediaplayer-management automation system keeps track of what I still have collected and still have to watch, have watched, liked, and presents the art & metadata quite beautifully (which is all automated and based on old versions of mede8er software & newer kodi versions.) Anyway.. it's not a priority yet :-)
