Super, super looking forward to see how this goes! Love me some Shin Hye-sun, and also love seeing Ji Chang-wook in this space.
Loved this so much! Daily Dose of Sunshine offers a refreshing and empathetic portrayal of individuals grappling with various mental health challenges in that way only kdramas seem to be able to. A perfect watch at 12 episodes, this drama not only entertains but also educates, offering a nuanced exploration of the complexities surrounding mental well-being and breaking down the stigma associated with mental health in a sensitive and realistic manner. The cinematography and use of visual metaphors in depicting the characters' emotional landscapes is especially commendable. Overall a must-watch for those seeking a well-crafted, socially relevant drama that encourages empathy and understanding towards mental health struggles.
Was equally invested in all the storylines - that's always a good thing - and pleasantly surprised by how they chose to wrap things up. One of those rare instances where you actually get why they go for a more humane angle for the finale. In dramas like The World of the Married (which I loved), the ending still felt a tad underwhelming because when you see characters go fully crazy, you want them to go ALL OUT. A wishy washy ending is not it. Here though, you get why Jung-Sun decides to take a step back. You get why she chose to end things the way she did. Loved how they approached the "reveal" of the mistress too...though I def wouldn't have minded seeing her suffer a tad more loll.
This one really brought back hints of the old Bollywood magic again!
Easily the best kdrama of 2023 for yours truly. Who would've thought superhero action in kdramas could work this well?? The kids and their parents have my whole heart :') Def needed more of Kim Dooshik though... I'm hoping the tease of another season actually does lead to one - and soon!
This was beautiful - loved how parenting and teenage drama was portrayed so realistically. Tons of self-reflection and comedy too!
Not an action girlie myself, but danggg did this pull me in! Han So Hee was kickass and I've come to realise than Ahn Bo Hyun suits the action/thriller space more than he does romcoms. Loved him here and absolutely gutted with how things ended. Still processing it all!
So refreshing seeing Kim Seon Ho as the Nobleman - his manic smile was positively unsettling at times. What a comeback!
Go Ara always felt better in action roles to me so this was a perfect fit for her too.
There are talks about a sequel, and I, for one, cannot wait!
Park Seojoon in something after so long! Loved the camaraderie between the team players and the constant banter between Somin and Hongdae. A quick, fun, light-hearted watch that made me snort, cackle, and tear up too!
A quick, fun watch despite the occasional dark turns. The mystery/thriller aspect was done very well and things were tied up pretty neatly too.
Only gripe is that I felt Yoo Ryung was a tad annoying at times...and Ha Mari deserved better. Personally and perhaps even professionally, but mostly personally. Jiseok did her bad - he didn't truly care for her feelings and turned around and fell for newbie just like that??? Mari deserved to at least know why they had to break up when he decided to do so. Just doesn't sit well with me how she was painted as mean and salty when in reality Jiseok and Yoo Ryung were the most selfish.
This era of Bollywood needs to make a comeback - and so does Imran Khan!
Pretty happy with how things ended (except for the Do-Il and In-Joo bit) but I'm preeetty sure this would have worked even better as a 16-episode drama where they could have explored things and tied them up better. Compensation in the form of a second season? I wouldn't complain.
Gave this a chance only for Tamannaah and...well...maybe I shouldn't have.
Absolute chaos and such a brilliant mashup of genres. Loved, loved, loved the cast, especially Woobin and Kim Tae-ri, and cannot freaking wait for part 2 already!
Riddled with all the clichés, but all done so well! A chillingly realistic, nail-biting affair.
That ending was NOT it, I need season 4 already!
Unintentional hilarity aside, I kinda get the hype now...but also kinda don't.
This was the most perfect romcom I've watched in years - had me giggling and bawling my eyes OUT. The fake dating? The chemistry? The cheese? The banter??? Perfect. Perfect. PERFECT.
A pretty good rom-com, though the first half felt way too slow and made me almost give up on the movie altogether.
This was such an exhilarating theatrical experience—such a treat to witness the crème de la crème of talents come together in all departments. That interval block!!!! And agent Tina. And the music, gosh. Obsessed with the album (can’t stop going Vikram, Vikram, VIKRAAAAM and breaking out in manic laughter lol)...and Suriya as Rolex!!! Can you believe we were just sitting here minding our business and we get THIS version of Suriya out of the blue?? Love that for us, and love that for LCU (that's Lokesh Cinematic Universe, in case you were wondering). This is easily my most fave movie of the director's yet. Can’t wait to see how he takes this world forward!
This entire thing felt wannabe Mani Ratnam, but sadly lacked the finesse.
Finished this in 3 sittings...and honestly, why?!
Went into this knowing next to nothing about what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Balances the light and the dark themes efficiently and portrays the stigma around those that fail to meet society's standards pretty well. The acting is sublime (yay, Ji Chang Wook!) and the cinematography is out of this world. Do you believe in magic? Because after this one, I certainly do!
Regardless of how things ended, this was one drama that beautifully depicted life, love, friendship and family. It really takes us back to times when things were simpler, and we could afford to feel things fiercely and risk it all.
Taeyang Squad fighting!
Ji Seung-wan best girl!!!
The found family trope almost always delivers - and this is definitely one such time. Loved the character dynamics and the absolute chaos they created throughout.
Would probably have enjoyed this much more in my kdrama-noob days :')
The finale was almost quite traumatizing, but Snowdrop is the most complete kdrama I’ve watched in a WHILE.
The major selling points for me were the stellar cast (apart from Jisoo and Haein who were amazing, Yoo In Na and Kim Hye Yoon had really interesting characters too), the setting (mostly boarding school), the politics and story (the plot twists!).
The OST was top-notch, magical at times, and cinematography was beautiful too.
I'm obsessed.
Welp. The tables are practically cartwheeling at this point.
A kdrama hasn't made me cry in so long...until this episode. I swear I'm throwing hands if we don't get a happy ending!!!
