I know it's unfair to compare the adaptation to the source. But I really didn't like this compared to the book. It felt like it lost it's soul. Also I think the casting was way off across the board.
This movie cost me nothing and I still feel like I wasted my money.
Watched this live with the Fren Family at their restaurant.
Vice
I absolutely loved this movie.
It is sharply written, terrifying, insightful and often humourous.
The way it is told is unique and engaging.
The whole cast were fantastic and got lost in their roles.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindlewald
This film really should have followed the philosophy of "less is more"
So much happened in this film, yet by the time it ended, it felt like nothing happened at all.
The visuals were the best part, unfortunately.

Threads
This documovie is science based dramatisation of the lead up, climax and aftermath of a nuclear war.
Profound for it's time, but by today's standards it's hard to watch.
It starts with some semblance of a story, then turns into a disjointed mess.

A Star Is Born
Cooper and Gaga were both great in acting and singing.
The runtime was too long, the pacing dragged in the second half and I felt less invested as a result.
I also had an issue with the audio mixing, found dialogue hard to understand.

Train to Busan
A South Korean Zombie film that over stays it's welcome.
This film does the zombie part great and is shot fantastically for it's setting.
However the characters felt cliché & the melodrama was laid on far too thick.
I adored the score.

Bad Times at the El Royale
I've seen this type of movie done before, but much better.
It's manages to weave an interesting mystery, but in the end couldn't care and left me unsatisfied.
The music and atmosphere were great.
The acting was good overall.

Crazy Heart
I went into this really wanting to like it. However I was only mildly interested the whole way, apart from the scene towards the end with the boy.
Bridges plays the story of a self destructive alcoholic well.
I adored the soundtrack

The Package
A good dumb comedy.
Teenage friends go on a camping trip and one cuts off his own penis. As you can imagine, shenanigans ensue.
Some suprisingly good comedic acting.
Pacing is great with some very cringe inducing scenes.

The Drop
A crime thriller, with a cute puppy.
The overall story was good, however it was told in a way that I found erratic and difficult to follow.
Most of the acting was stiff, Hardy the most.
Gandolfini was good, but type cast
Hard to recommend.

I could not finish this. I found it a bore. The characters were boring and uninteresting.
Visually great however.
The Secret Life Of Pets
It was an ok film.
Got some good chuckles out of it.
Unfortunately it just feels like I've seen this movie time and time again. Same basic plot.
Animation was good.
You won't have a bad time watching it.

Solo: A STAR WARS Story
I suprisingly enjoyed this movie, after being unenthusiastic from the trailers.
Alden really sold me that he was Han, the rest of the cast were great. Except for Clarke.
I found antagonist not very interesting.

Ghost In The Shell
An ok sci-fi action film, however don't go in expecting any depth to the story.
Visually fantastic with good world building.
Decent action scenes.
Acting was mostly stiff and the antagonist was cliché and boring.

Hereditary
I have not had a movie make me feel as much dread as this one did.
A truly shocking and tense film.
Tells its story in a way that treats its audience with intellect.
The acting was great, with Collette putting in the performance of a career.

Hell or High Water
A fantastic example of a neo western, that is full of mood and atmosphere and tension.
The cast was amazing and every emotion and motivation felt real and believable.
Beautiful cinematography and soundtrack.

The Dark Tower
It's said "To break is divine" but there is nothing divine in the way this film broke me.
How they managed to make a colossal fuck up of The Dark Tower is a feat in itself.
The only thing worth seeing was the reloading trick.

BlackKKKlansman
This film is powerful in it's message, and scarily prophetic.
Washington acted fantastically in this.
Had some good humour and tension throughout.
However the pacing is inconsistent.

Master and Commander
The film was shot beautifully, the camera work sold the intensity & isolation of the Age of Sail.
The action scenes are where this film shines
But otherwise, the film meanders.
The friendship between Aubrey & Maturin felt cliche.

Robot & Frank
This heartfelt story of a man battling with dementia, really got me invested and pulled my heart strings.
Some good comedy to be found.
The main cast were mostly fantastic, however Liv Tyler and the supporting cast was less than stellar.

The Nice Guys
The reason to watch this film is for Crowe and Gosling, they played their parts fantastically and their chemistry was a joy.
The plot of the two guys both tracking down a woman, leading into a major conspiracy was outrageous but great.

The Foreigner
Another movie about a dangerous man with nothing to lose, getting revenge against the people who took everything.
But the setting and plot had me very invested.
It was great seeing Chan still has the moves at his age.

American Sniper
The embellished story of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is a good movie, exploring the morality of taking a life in the context of war and the conflict of serving your country and family.
The Mustafa 'character' was borderline comic.

For A Few Dollars More
The plot was decent enough, however the antagonist was too over the top.
Music and cinematography was fantastic.
A few scenes seemed superfluous.
The sync issue of the VO and what was on screen was disorienting.

Ant Man and The Wasp
Lilly takes the reins in this film and it's the strongest aspect of this film.
The action scenes are interesting with the dynamics of size.
Individual parts were good, however the overall plot and antagonists weren't very compelling.

Carrie
The overall plot of a tormented Carrie, getting revenge was good.
However, I didn't like this film at all and I couldn't wait for it to end.
The acting was across the board bad.
Style choices I didn't like and scenes that went far too long.

Citizen Kane
I can appreciate the impact this film had on cinema.
The cinematography is fantastic for its time.
The story of Kane is intriguing.
However, I found the film an absolute bore.
I would suggest to avoid this, unless you want to study film.

Tag
Quite surprised by how good this was.
A story of a group of friends who has played Tag since they were children, on a mission to get their friend who has never been it.
Filled with laughs and some cliché heartfelt moments.
Fisher was fantastic.
