So Bad it's good 80's slasher film
Amsterdammed (1988). This was a treat, I remember hearing about this movie way back when and had always wanted to see it. Well I finally did. It's not really a horror movie, but more a police trying to catch the killer movie.
The most gruesome scene is the first victem and how/where she was found. There is a really extended boat chase though the canals, finishing with an bang. Just when you think the movie is over something else is thrown at you. It's a fair movie not sure I like why the bad guy did what he did.
6/10 Fair.
TRIVIA:
Dick Maas passed on the opportunity to direct a sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) in order to do this film. He later stated that he should have postponed Amsterdamned, as the Elm Street sequel could have been his international breakthrough.
The Killer nun....
Nunsplotation Film with Anita Elbert as a nun with a past...
This is an odd one, it's got naked nuns, promiscuous nuns, Drugs, Stabbing with sewing needles. And yes it has twist at the end like all good Gailo films. I watched it in Italian as I don't have a subtitled copy. Understood about 60% of the dialogue. Fun interesting fact, it's based on a true story of a nun who killed people in 1977, this came out in ,79
Oh, it is bad; but it has Christopher Lee (who later apologized to Joe Dante while filming gremlins 2 for being in this)
Sybil Danning is also in this in her great over acting b-movie queen role as Striga the 10,000 year old warewolf.
Plus it also stars Reb Brown Coming off his star making roles in Captain America, and Captain America 2.
Shot in Communist , Czechoslovakia it is not used well. The best part of the movie is the closing credits where we repeatedly get to see "assets" of one of the stars and corny reaction shots of the other actors in the movie. We also get a confusing music performance three different times.
Stay away unless you like the corn.
Oh So bad!, voice overs, no plot and its just bad. Plan 9 is better then this dreck.
The first appearance of Eddie Murphy, he has not officially joined the cast yet but his segment with Joe Piscopo is the best thing this episode. Charles Rocket is still not funny at all.
In the so bad it is good category. Really nothing can be said about this mess, but its fun.
3/10 (bad) cheese factor rating 9/10 (superb)
An absolutely brilliant show. The music of the 80's just fits the mood and the ending. Well the ending while heartwarming is also heartbreaking.
I am sure this was funny in 1964, but today it only got a few chuckles out of me.
Outstanding Show, with great music and that ending. Don't forget to watch the sequel "Ashes To Ashes"
The best vampire movie since Låt den Rätte Komma In
Final Score for the Season is a 8.5 rounded up to a 9. Superb acting, great story, should win awards.
it is turning into a supernatural soap opera with season 4.
Oh oh oh, A new show on starz! I enjoyed the first episode. If you liked Spartacus, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey you should like this.
Yea, I am not sure about this one. I think I will have to rewatch it to completely take it in.
One of Tarantino's best movies ever. Perfect blend of old and new. This should be a series.
It was alright, I Like the Book A lot better. The Connection Between Katniss and Peta just was not there for me in the movie, Along with the Emotional impact of Rue, There was no why her death screwed with Katniss, in the book the impact is greater because you feel for them.
This is a great 3rd feature by the new Hammer. It was good and a few times i noticed i was on the edge of my seat and clenching my teeth. Great Sound design also.
Great Show, Just found out about it this week, I started with the Canadian Season first and it is really good, and the women are very pleasing to the eye.
I Have been totally impressed with this show so far.
Wow, This is good I have not read the books and now I want too. The first episode was incredible. cant wait for next week.
Really cheesy show not sure if I will make it though all eight episodes of it.
Not as funny as I remembered it, still has a few good one liners though.
I was putting this one off since i liked the orignal so much, but after viewing this I feel that it is almost better then the original. Chloe Moretz is great in her role as Abby, and the pacing was a tad bit faster. Oh and seeing the word "Hammer" back on the big screen is an added plus, let's hope future films from them are just as good.
Such a great show, shame it never got a second series.
