It's been a while since I've watched a series premiere that got me hooked to the screen the whole time as this one just did. Very engaging episode! Smallville's Aquaman has finally peaked. Hot damn!
A multimillion dollar company, with a team of several people working on the same project, yet only ONE of them knows how to operate the box? Riiiight...
Also, I really wish they'd stop with the Nintendo Switch finger snap every time they swap realities, it's getting terribly annoying, by now.
It was all feeling like a déjà vu, to me, (after all, Counterpart already did a similar thing a couple of years ago, and excelled at it), until that ending. Now, things seem to finally be picking up the pace and get properly interesting. Hopefully.
Not enough meat for a season premiere, but I guess it was just enough to make me want to keep watching.
I really miss 2015's Dark Matter, though...
This series is so much fun! Quirky enough to remind me of the truly missed Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Which is a compliment, in case you're wondering.
Lovely style, great soundtrack, Neil Gaiman. This one looks promising!
Also, bonus point: Rowena!
I actually got nauseous with that much action.
Also, "let's fly" is still a terrible catchphrase.
So, assuming the game ended on level 4 (because that looked like an ending, to me), what was the whole purpose of the game? To let a small group of very few people know that aliens are coming to our planet? That's it? Is it as dumb as I'm making it to be or am I missing something?
Robot dogs! That's an instant 10, for me. Sadly, it sucks having to be realistic about things. I still enjoyed it just as much as the first one, despite all the clichés served to us on a cheap platter.
Oh boy, I can barely wait for season 8!
Wtf was going on with that ending? I hope there won't be a second season, one was already more than enough, thank you.
Finally, a genuinely good episode, neatly starting to tie everything up! It only took six of them to get here. Now, this is how I like to get my brain properly f*cked!
Tamsin Greig! What a delightful surprise! I haven't seen her since that lovely British series in the background of my profile :black_heart:
Why did they change Cortana? Was it because in the first season she was CGI and now she's a real actress? Budget cut?
Anyway, I liked the first one better... Sigh!
First season: no helmet
Second season: no suit
Third season: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I still wish we'd had seen this much intense action throughout a whole damn episode with the Spartans properly suited up. I would happily throw a full fat 10 at this episode, had that been the case.
Harry and Heather
Sitting on a tree
K I S S I N G.
Oh, man, Harry genuinely in love with a specimen from a different alien species brings a whole new extra fun dynamic to the show! Can't wait to see the lovely awkwardness of the development of it.
And the sheriff's oblivious (as always) joke about Optimus Prime's wife... :ok_hand: Gotta love his character!
Maybe it is the 12 year old in me, but this show makes me laugh my ass off! I love it!
Well, I guess I found my new favourite show!
This episode was as nuts as it was hilarious!
I don't know why there ate so many negative comments, I find that the solid humour is still there, as funny as it has ever been. Though slightly less amusing than the season premiere, I spent a really good time watching this episode.
The story truly moved forward, thanks to the mayor's foot (and I do hope the poor guy gets some good kink money out of its photos, ahah!). We finally got a proper definition of "ghosting". Or course, it had to come from one of the show's best characters: the sheriff. Also about him, I want to believe the break up won't last long, that's why they just rushed that part in. I don't like Max being without his long time friend and going all arrogant with that "I'm the alien tracker, now" attitude, but I hope they'll turn that part of the plot around. The imaginary refrigerator/window glass guy was channeling the most perfect Colin Robinson from the What We do in the Shadows series, I found that bit hilarious (and also felt my energy being slowly drained from me)!
I didn't get who was in the photo that Sarah Connor was looking at in her office, so maybe someone with a better memory can kindly clue me in, please?
That loooong time coming kiss!
Still as funny as always
It's just an OK sci-fi movie (but a surprisingly emotional one). As others have been saying, great world building, subpar writing. Still enjoyable, overall. Not worth a second watch, though.
I can only imagine how good this could have been in the hands of Neill Blomkamp, as it seems like something right up his alley.
Third time's the charm! After two lackluster movies, Kenneth Branagh finally gets it. Despite continously trying to make Poirot belive in the supernatural, and the dumbed down ending, somehow, this one seemed to be better acted (best Poirot by Mr. Branagh) and scripted than the previous ones. Cinematography was also quite chilly and lovely, above previous endeavours. Tina Fey was an unexpected but welcomed and pleasant surprise.
I had lost my hopes on these movies, but now I'm definitely curious to see if things continue to improve in future ones (should there be more of them).
Just look at all those cats!
What a tearjerker of an episode, wow...The protagonist's suffering is, indeed, increasing by each one.
The action scenes on this show are crazy good!
I also find the episodes to be well written, like a story properly told, with little twists in the perfect places.
That last scene was hilarious!
Between this one and Ricky Gervais' Armageddon, I don't know which one was more tame. Quite a lackluster ending for 2023 in terms of big names of stand-up comedy.
Hearing Megan Mullally not doing a high pitched voice is weird.
