27:25 is all I really need to say
I'm getting used to the new melody. I don't know why they changed it, but I'm almost used to it now. There's still something weird about this drama, I can't put my finger on it. It just feels creepy in a way. I still don't feel chemistry between the main leads. The acting isn't getting better either. At this point, it feels like I'm watching it only because I already started it and it's not that long so might as well finish it.
I think I'm getting used to it.
I rewatched the anime and realised that they had changed the melody Mafuyu sings. I really like that song, so I was disappointed that they changed it. I look forward to hearing the full song.
Uenoyama just gives of different vibes from the anime. In the anime, it feels like he knows he's cool, and he carries himself with some sort of dignity, but here he feels more like a nerd than a cool guitarist. Another difference is how Uenoyama getting mad at Maguyu some across. Here, it comes of as childish. It feels like Uenoyama is very sensitive, whereas in the anime, it seems like Uenoyama gets mad because he cares about Mafuyu. He wants him to speak his mind and say what he wants.
I'm starting to like it more, although Mafuyu's hair is still annoying me. Haruki's hair, for some reason, doesn't bother me as much, although I do feel like his and the drummer's (I forgot his name, sorry) vibe are also more nerdy and less cool. In the anime, they come across as the "fun/cool older brother" type guys.
I really wanted to like it... I didn't... The acting feels a bit off and bad. I've seen Uenoyama's actor (Suzuki Jin) in another drama and his performance was way better there than it is here. I'm not too fond of the casting for Uenoyama. I feel like the actor looks too young from what I imagined Uenoyama looked like, but that might be just me. The fact that Mafuyu has black hair is just... not right. Mafuyu is not Mafuyu without his signature brown hair. Also, here Mafuyu feels almost antisocial, as opposed to, in the anime it looks like he's shy and doesn't know how to talk to people, doesn't understand the social norms. Another very random thing I have to say is WHO HEATS UP A FROZEN PIZZA IN THE MICROWAVE? You would do it in the oven... no? It's the same in the anime, which doesn't make is any better.
This was so difficult to watch. I kept thinking "What the hell am I watching?" This type of comedy just feels so old. If you told me this show was made back in like 2002, I would believe you. It's just too on the nose. The fight between Kasai and Gonta felt too small to make them break up. I feel like they could have easily made up if they were just honest with each other. I enjoyed the Yutaro cameo.
I don't even know what to say to convey what this episode was. It was just bad.
It definitely wasn't my favourite Korean bl, but I quite liked it. The chemistry felt natural and the acting wasn't all that bad. I think this show would have been better if it were longer. The writers had a lot of things they wanted to accomplish, but not enough time. I also think that the running of time in this drama was a bit weird. I have no idea how much time passed. It could have been a month or half a year. In my opinion, they should have had a longer awkward phase. They haven't seen each other in 7 years, in that time people can change a lot, especially with so many new experiences. I would have enjoyed seeing how they balanced work life and dating. Did they tell their coworkers, or did they just continue to hide it, did they find out themselves? Overall, I did like this drama, after finishing an episode I wanted to watch the next one which is a good sign.
I don't think I would recommend people watch it, but I wouldn't tell them not to either.
Recap: After not being able to contact Ki Tae, Wan decides to refuse the offer of travelling. Their company gets a chance to turn their game into a webtoon.
Thoughts: Turns out that not much happened in this episode. Most of it was just sweet affection between the two MCs. I think this is quite a good ending. And, again, their chemistry and acting seem very natural and believable which makes me really like their relationship. Although it is sad that Wan had to refuse such a great opportunity, I do understand that Ki Tae is more important to him. Ki Tae is the reason he started drawing, after 7 years of not being able to see him, I get that he can't let go when he accidentally finds him again.
Recap: We discover that Ki Tae has a very bad case of separation anxiety. He's scared that Wan is going to disappear again. I think Wan running away 7 years ago left Ki Tae traumatised and anxious. Wan gets the chance to travel the world which can be a very important step in his career. While drunk Wan accidentally mentions having to leave Ki Tae which makes Ki Tae very anxious. They have a small fight about Wan leaving Ki Tae. Later when Ki Tae tries to contact Wan he doesn't answer which makes Ki Tae frantically run around in search for Wan. After finding him Ki Taae breaks down in Wan's arms.
Thoughts: I can imagine how much better this drama could have been if they had a bigger budget they could make it longer and go more in-depth about the struggles each of them had to endure while being apart. I appreciate them trying to show Ki Tae's mental struggles, but I don't think it was the right choice for such a short show. Again, I like how honest they are with each other. I totally understand why Wan found it hard to tell Ki Tae about the opportunity he has. I feel like the argument they had could have been longer. It felt weirdly short and unnatural. I do feel kind of sad that the series is coming to an end.
Recap: Most of the episode is just them on their first date. We also see them in the company acting affectionate with each other. Jamie finally introduces her friend to Wan. Ki Tae sees this and gets jealous.
Thoughts: This episode felt even more natural than the one before. I love that they act awkward with each other but are also affectionate, I love that it feels like they have known each other for ages and like none of that time they weren't together happened It just all feels so naturally awkward and so honest. Their chemistry is really good - you can feel how well they get along. I think the first date being just a walk in the park (in the literal way, not the saying). In my opinion, the best date is just walking around and enjoying each other's company, talking about anything and everything. It was really cute to see Lee Wan get shy about actually asking Ki Tae to be his boyfriend. Talking about the Jamie and her friend plot point, I don't think it was completely unnecessary, but I think it should have happened before they started dating, that would have been more interesting. I do hope they don't make the B plot Ki Tae getting jealous, cuz that can be annoying. I actually enjoyed them being affectionate with each other at work, it was funny that Sunny was the one who saw them, I really like Sunny's character, she was the perfect choice for this scene.
Recap: They are working hard on the game. All of the workers say that the character Lee Wan drew looks like Ki Tae. While working after hours, the lights suddenly go off and Ki Tae takes Lee Wan to his house to work. After the game's beta version is done, they decide to have a company dinner. Wan takes Ki Tae for a private conversation. Ki Tae tells Wan that he thinks that Wan still likes him. Ki Tae kisses Wan. This time none of them ran away.
Thoughts: I liked this episode. The dialogue seems more natural, Ki Tae's flirting and Wan getting flustered seem very real. Every scene between the two MCs seems naturally awkward. I would have liked to see the company dinner, but I understand that they don't have a big budget so it's fine.
Recap: Ki Tae keeps coming up to Lee Wan and annoying him, but Lee Wan asks him to stop harassing him. Later they go back to their old school in order for Lee Wan to get some inspiration to draw out school scenes. While there Ki Tae takes out the old film camera that Lee Wan used when they were in school, but threw away after his failed confession. Ki Tae tells Lee Wan how he felt for the last 7 years and confesses his feelings to Lee Wan.
Thoughts: I'm starting to understand Ki Tae better. He just wants to spend time with Lee Wan, which is very understandable. There was a "Station of the cross": :sparkles:The wiping of the mouth:sparkles:. I always like the wiping of the mouth. I especially appreciate how Ki Tae got flustered after, felt very sweet. I love that both of the MCs are straightforward. They don't hide what they think and feel, they tell the other person. That can be very hard to do and it can be hard to watch when the MCs don't tell each other what they think and it ends up being a misunderstanding. Anyways. I quite liked this episode. It was very chill, not much happened.
Recap:Lee Wan starts working at the company and is trying to get used to the way things work around there. During one of their meetings, his coworkers are impressed by his thoughts on one of their games. Lee Wan, who gets called Ian by Ki Tae, a.k.a. Eddy and now goes by that nickname, finds out that Ki Tae recommended him to work at the company. Ian calls Eddy up to the roof to confront him about their past. Ki Tae says that he did recommend him and tells Wan, that he is Gameboy. Eddy has been the one leaving encouraging messages on Wan's comics. Ki Tae quotes what Ian said in the meeting: "When you like someone you look at their social media and find out what they like". Wan is left confused on the roof.
Thoughts: I will never understand the "I like you so I'm giving you a hard time" trope. Maybe Ki Tae just likes seeing Wan get flustered. I do really like how Wan confronted Ki Tae about it and said what he felt to his face. I respect that. It was very nice of Ki Tae to give Wan his hoodie. I very much doubt the excuse of "I don't wear it anymore". Ki Tae has been nicer to Wan and I appreciate that he told him about Gameboy as well, very nice of him. I liked the pacing of the episode, most of the dialogue and pacing felt natural (there were some exceptions, like the CEO).
Recap:This episode is basically a chain of flashbacks. First, we get the full confession, after which Lee Wan runs away and decides to never meet Ki Tae again. Then we get to see that not only does Wan miss Ki Tae, but Ki Tae misses Wan and he feels really sad that Wan ghosted him. We also get to see some of Wan's drawings. Turns out, Wan has only been drawing one character which, I assume, is Ki Tae. Wan has also been receiving encouraging comments from a user named Gameboy. After reading another one of Gameboy's comments Wan decides to take on the job at Re: Try and stop running from Ki Tae.
Thoughts: I'm not a fan of flashback episodes, so I didn't really like this one. It was interesting to see some of Ki Tae's POV, I really like it when shows do that. Through the flashbacks you can see just how important Ki Tae is to Wan, he can't stop thinking about him, he even started drawing more while thinking about Ki Tae. I'm very interested to find out why Ki Tae acted like he didn't know Wan if he was trying to reach out to him for the past 7 years. This episode was more interesting than the first episode.
Side note: I found another resemblance. Lee Wan is what I imagined Daon for the BL manhwa "Secret relationship" to look and act like.
Recap: The Main Character (MC) Lee Wan is going to a job interview at a game developer company "Re: Try". There he meets again his failed first love Shin Ki Tae. Ki Tae acts as if he doesn't know Wan and is kinda cold and hard on him. Then we get a flashback from 7 years ago. Wan is moving due to his family going bankrupt. He goes to meet Ki Tae for the last time and kisses him on the roof (I would guess it's their school's roof). That is where the episode ends.
Thoughts: It didn't grab my attention that well. As of yet I am not invested. I like it when the main characters don't have history, so I don't like it that much yet. I think the actors are pretty good and I like the "forced to work together" trope. I hope I start liking it more as I go on.
Side note: The actor who plays Shin Ki Tae reminds me so much of Park Hanbin from Boys Planet or the group Evnne.
I have so many mixed emotions about this show.
On the one hand, Phayu was very much a red flag at the start. A flashing one. I really didn't like him and how he was treating Rain. It just made me uncomfortable. And Rain was so annoying at the start. I even started doubting if I should finish this series. It was hard to watch at the start for me.
On the other hand, the spice kinda made up for it. For those who love angst and spice, Phayu and Rain's relationship is probably great tv. But I prefer more sweet and emotional stuff.
I love Prapai and Sky. I think they were so great. I loved watching Prapai take care or Sky and go at his pace. It's great that Prapai put Sky's needs above his own wants. Sky really needed someone to trust and lean on, and I think Prapai was there when he needed him and is a great person to lean on.
The chemistry between the sassy Sky and the little bossy and needy Prapai was very fun to watch. Even the chemistry between Phayu and Rain got better towards the end of their story.
I really liked that they decided to show 2 very different couples on one show. I think they did a great job at portraying both couples. The actors were also really great.
Overall, I enjoyed this series. I finished it a while ago, but I still keep coming back and watching edits of it. I can definitely see why so many people like this show so much.
I loved this drama. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I saw a TikTok about it and thought it looked interesting so I started watching it.
It's a very slow pace drama, but it doesn't get boring. The connection between the main couple feels pretty real and deep. I was really surprised about just how bold Su Zaizai was, she did not hesitate to come up to her crush and talk to him. I respect her for that. I always hate when the female lead is too scared to talk to her crush like he's not a person. Gu Ran's feelings also felt natural and not pushed.
I really liked Zhou Yiran's acting in this one. I've watched a drama that he was in before this and I almost couldn't recognise him because the roles were so different. I think he's a great actor and I'm gonna be watching more of his work.
I really enjoyed myself while watching this drama. Even though it has a lot of episodes I finished it fairly quickly, the episodes seem to blend into one another.
This was a bit boring and hard to watch. Dan Oh annoyed me soooooo much. Baek Gyeong is annoying as well, but I kinda understand him. He still shouldn't direct his anger at people who don't deserve it.
I binged it so fast. But I have a lot of things to say. Let's start with the negatives.
So many things were changed from the original webtoon. I loved the webtoon. Eventhough i like the show as well I do wish the kept the story. The main premise is the Dam and it starts the same, but the further it went the less it resembled the webtoon.
They took a very different approach to JJ's story and I don't know how I feel about it. While in the webtoon he did worse things and definitely didn't deserve a redemption, here he was just angry and didn't really do anything THAT awful. With the story they created for him in the show I did understand where he was coming from and why everybody forgave him. I'm not sure if I like that kind of ending for him or not.
Another thing, I think the storyline about Who-Joon's father was unnecessary. Maybe they were trying to make the series longer, idk. I don't think it added anything to the overall story.
This may be only me, but I really loved when in the webtoon Joon came to Geunyoung crying. I think it was a very important moment of their relationship. I was sad that they decided to not put that scene in. I was waiting for it.
Also, I don't know if they picked the right actor for Joon. At first I really felt like he didn't look like a global star. Later on I got used to it but I still don't think he looks like a superstar.
I also feel like Joon's real identity wasn't a bit deal to Geunyoung. Sure wasn't mad at him for lying, she wasn't surprised that he's not who he said he is. I wanted to hear Geynyoung call him by his real Korean name, but they just said that his rap name is Benny, which, yeah that's his English name but he also had a Korean name, which is Who-Joon. I also wanted to hear what she calls him. Because he calls her Geunyoung-ah which suggests that they are close, but when they talk they use formal speech. I wanted to know if she calls him Who-Joon shi or oppa, but she didn't call him anything she didn't address him in the last couple of episodes. That really confused me.
Now for the good things.
Despite all the negative things I just said, I did like this show. I think the cast did I great job. I really like the actress that played Geunyoung. She did a great job, she had great facial expressions. I also like Kim Mingue. I've seen him in another dramabefore this And I think he's really good. What really surprised me is Hwang Chansung. I saw another drama that he's in and I really didn't like his character. After that whenever I saw him online I always thought of that character, I thought he'd always have that image in my head. After i watched this I am amazed. He was AMAZING. I forgot the character he had played before. The are so totally different character, but he played both of them so well. Now i want to watch more of his work.
I also think the chemistry between the main cast was amazing. It felt natural and real. I also think the way the main couple supported eachother was amazing. They fixing push or rush, they tried to unstated eachother. I really enjoyed that.
Overall i enjoyed the show and i do suggest you watch it. Although you don't need to read the webtoon before watching because they are 2 different stories. Similar, but not the same.
I loved it. It was so satisfying to see all the couples finally together and happy.
It was nice to see Team finally open up to Win. I loved that Win was patient with Team, he didn't push when Team said he'll tell him about it one day. He supported Team as best as he could and he just wanted to see Team happy. It was nice to see Team finally get the closure that he needed so bad.
Prince and Bee were so cute this episode. I'm happy that Prince found someone who cares for him and is patient about coming out as a couple.
Manaow and Phruek. I'm honestly not a big fan of this couple, or rather Manaow. She's just kinda too much for me. I don't know if it's the actress or the character but it's all just too much. I am happy for her because she got an acting gig. Phruek is really nice tho.
Pharm and Dean. They were the ones who introduced Between Us to me so I have only good things to say about them. Love them. Very cute as always. It's so fun to see Dean plan so far ahead as to already planing their wedding. Soooooo cute.
Tul and Waan. It all felt kinda rushed to me. Maybe it was because I watched the free version on youtube. I was really excited for their story after I saw the first couple of scenes with them.
In conclusion, I think this was a good ending for the series. All the couples were together and happy, which makes me happy. It was a very satisfying ending.
I love how good Win is to Team. He cares for him, takes care of him and doesn't push him to tell him anything Team may not be ready to tell. I think Team has really been needing someone to open up to and Win makes him feels safe enough to do so.
I'm not saying that Pharm and Manaow are bad friends, I think that Team just doesn't want to "burden them with his problems". I think Pharm and Manaow would be very supportive of Team and help him get over all these different feelings, but I also think team might be using them as an escape, as a place he can just be happy, ignoring all the guilt in his chest.
I really enjoyed it. The actors have great chemistry and it is way better than the bl they previously did. While I did enjoy it I like some of the fights were just unnecessary.
I do recommend it. It a light and fast watch.
P.S.
Please support Kim Jiwoong on !!!
IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!! The ending is heartbreaking but I had a great time watching. Just when I thought I knew where it was going I was wrong. I don't usually cry watching movies or shows but this is definitely an exception.
If you want to watch a heartbreaking coming-of-age story this is perfect. I really recommend you watch it. it was exceptional.
I enjoyed watching it. The chemistry was good and it incorporated more than just the love story. It also talked about what it means to be a celebrity and how crazy fans can be, which I really liked.
Having said that, for me, a person who doesn't know anything about games and gaming, it got boring. There were these fantastic action sequences that just made me bored because I didn't understand what was happening and who I was supposed to root for. I wanted to skip those parts and a lot of the gameplay. This wouldn't be a problem for a gamer but for me it was.
In conclusion, it was enjoyable, although I would not recommend it to a person who doesn't know how games work.
Loved this show. It was really enjoyable and easy to watch. Sweet, without being cheesy The cast did an amazing job. The chemistry between Lee Sungkyung and Nam Joohyuk is superb. Even the cliffhangers weren't annoying. The writing is so good it almost feels real.
I have only one band thing to say. I feel like they teased a relationship between Seon Ok and Tae Kwon, but nothing happened. I was excited to how they would show it but they just didn't. I didn't see anyone else mentioning it so I'm wondering if I missed something.
