Is Ryan Reynolds ever NOT acting like Deadpool? Guess Deadpool is just Ryan Reynolds.
Funny, touching, incredible talent, with a really beautiful and important message. Loved every minute of it. The dynamic between the characters are gold.
“Stop splashing! You have a life jacket on.” Lol. That girl is the single best thing about the movie.
There’s not a single action sequence yet I feel like this is the most action movie I’ve seen in awhile. The edge of your seat kind of stuff. Totally loved and enjoyed it. And Keira was amazing. One of her top performance, if I dare say.
Thank god for Dar Salim STELLAR performance. Otherwise this would have been a waste of time.
There's a lot of awkward dead air in this movie. Finishing it felt like a chore. Persuasion is not that compelling of a story to begin with and this adaptation definitely didn't help. And I'm REALLY sorry, but they couldn't have chosen a worse actor to play Captain Wentworth. I almost hoped they'd do a twist and have her end up with Mr. Elliot instead. (also Henry Golding IS a 10.) The only positive thing I can think of is Dakota's english accent not being distracting.
The shot of the monster wearing the dad's face is probably the creepiest thing I've seen all year.
Went straight to Five Guys for a burger after this. :joy:
Normalize dance numbers in movies.
Mmmkay. No one asked for it, but UNPOPULAR OPINION TIME. People fawning over Parasite reminds me so much of feminists who applaud men when they do shit they’re supposed to be doing anyways. The movie is well made and entertaining. Just like any good movie should be. Is it worth all this attention and movie of the year? Definitely not.
One day people will see Jordan Peele's movies for what they actually are; glorified garbage.
Honestly, from the very first sequence to the last I kept asking myself is this a serious film? Or is this a spoof? I can't believe this is a James Wan creation. Alarmingly disappointing.
If you’re looking to be mindless and suspend all belief and watch action sequence after another after another with no reasonable plot or acting to ground it, then this is the sequel for you. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it. But it needed a twist to make us believe killing all these people would eventually lead to something, instead the movie ended where it started. It all seemed pretty pointless and an opportunity for more sequels to make more money.
Not your typical horror film, but just as horrifying. I swear so many sequences in the movie are like most of my nightmares. Trying to stop a chain of events that refuse to be stopped. Bombarded with so many people around you invading your space. Trying to escape and leave a place but never being able to. So much of it was so hard to watch, yet so intriguing and so entertaining. I get that it’s filled with metaphors and it might not be for everyone, but it truly is something else and deserves to be given a chance.
Damn, this movie is DEEP. So glad I went into it not knowing a single thing about it. Made it that much more enjoyable and the twist more shocking. Charlize is marvelous in this role. She conveyed every emotion perfectly and you feel her depression in your soul. Nowadays everywhere you look having kids is made to look so glamorous and so easy and anyone can do it, I’m glad this exists to show the ugly side of it.
Not at all what I expected. What a wonderful, visually stunning surprise. Ben Stiller is such a talented and creative director. The scenery in here almost was therapeutic.
23 years later and Mufasa's death scene still brings tears to my eyes. What a masterpiece!
Really good cast, not as good writing or directing. But the amount of shirtless Ryan with a full beard didn't make me regret watching it. So that's something.
Hmm. Way too predicable but entertaining enough.
Kinda want a part 2 of this. Need more of Waldo and Lorena.
The majority of the movie gives you an existential crisis and then at the end it says fuck all that. It doesn't matter, and you're okay without purpose if you are kind, enjoying life and living to the fullest.
One of the most boring and unrewarding whodunit movies I've ever seen.
I wish someone had told me to not waste my time or money before watching this. Terrible on every possible level.
What a majestic piece of art. Loved every single strangely visually satisfying to watch frame of it. Every shot is calculated down to the centimeter. Worthy all of the Oscars it's won and was nominated for.
The concept of the movie is very unique and original (to me at least), I truly enjoyed watching every minute of it. Every aspect of it was very well done and it really gets you thinking the entire time. Not to mention the chemistry between Ewan and Eva is insanely amazing and beautiful. It has you hooked till literally the very last second of the film.
Every character and actor in this movie is so alive and dynamic and then there's Emily Blunt.
Every time I think we’ve seen it all when it comes to the world wars, a movie such as this comes along and moves you in a new, different way. Clearly an immense effort was put into the making of it. Totally deserving of all the recognition it got. An absolute pleasure to watch.
Went in with high expectations and the movie still managed to surpass them. Absolutely perfect. I loved every single minute of it. Matt and Christian were amazing together. I absolutely lost it during their fight. LMAO. And I agree with everyone here, watch it on the biggest screen there is. It's an EXPERIENCE.
I’m not familiar with the story or the original movie, still I couldn’t help but feel that it lacked something the entire time. It’s not terrible, but it’s not good either. It hardly leaves an impression on you. It’s easily forgotten afterwards.
I’m not exactly sure how I would’ve felt about this movie if it wasn’t led by Charlie Hunnam, but because of that magnificent man and his consistent solid and beautiful performance (which carried the movie, imho) I have enjoyed every minute of it, and will probably watch it again. My eyes were glued to the screen the entire time and I was absolutely sucked into that world and his obsession with the lost city. This man continues to surprise me. In the best ways possible.
There are movies that don't deserve the hate and negativity they get, and then there's this one.
