Wow wow Wow! !! !!!
I can not believe I just started this show and it is out for some years now.
This show is sooooo amazing. I am addicted ! :)
Orange Is The New Black is really a good show, and much different compared to other shows which are currently high rated.
The writers don't need that long to build up the characters. This is what I don't like at the beginning of many shows, because most of the time this is the boring part - until the whole story starts to develop. In Orange Is The New Black you got kicked in right from the start.
The actors are really good . All of them. And well written; and I got to admit that my favorite character is "Red". Not just because Kate Mulgrew played Captain Kathrin Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, but because the character is build up so strong, and she's got so many facets.
You also get to know her in more backflashes (that explains how the people got into the prison). Some TV shows are using backflashes as well to explain some things, and usually I find that annoying, because it is a hard cut in the current plot; but the director in Orange Is The New Black is doing that so well, that it doesn't me bother at all - just the opposite: I want to know why the women got in there.
After watching the first three episodes I wrote that the show shouldn't be drama. It should be a comedy show. That is not true, after I watched the other episodes. Yes, there are funny scenes in it, but it defiantly got the strong drama parts as well.
I highly recommend to give this show a try, because you might wanna love it!
Kevin Spacey is so great in this show, and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) too. They play their roles so realistic, I believe them every word!
Barack Obama wrote a book as he's got into "higher" politics. I see some parallels from the book and this tv show. Everything is very realistic. The show reminds me a little bit of "Damages" with Glenn Close, where intrigue play a big role too, but in House of Cards it is much more sophisticated. You can't really miss one episode, because you gonna miss so much. And I also do not want to miss an episode , because you never get bored here. That is how a tv show concept should be!
The big thing about the show is also the first season's ending. I don't want to put a spoiler here, but I couldn't imagine that all those different story lines got put together to a big picture in the ending.
That was amazing. Really great written.
I give the first season 9 out of 10 points because it is so amazing well written, the acting is simply awesome and the only annoying thing which comes to my mind is the long intro.
So if you want to see a realistic politics & life tv show: Give it a try.
Drama? No way! This show is sooooo funny! =)
And the cover should be like this! http://www.serienjunkies.de/news/big/o/orange-the-new-black-43346_big.jpg
Much better if you only watch it once.
I am in the middle of the first season but I gonna say: this show is so good !
Since The Walking Dead is getting more and more boring, Homeland's season is over, and Breaking Bad's final season is starting in July I was looking for a TV Show which is exiting, got a central theme in it. Where you get surprised and the acting is good.
A TV show which is realistic and dangerous.
I found all of it with this show!
Since this TV Show is about the cold war I want to compare it with James Bond, and the second reason is I don't want to put spoilers in it:
I am pretty sure you know the older James Bond movies, where Bond is jumping of a cliff with no parachute, into a plane, gets control over the plane, destroying the enemy's base and got no scratches. Superhero Bond. No problems.
And then you know the newer Bond movies with Daniel Craig. Where Bond has problems. He's a drinker. Getting hurt, Getting scratches, simply more realistic.
If you know what I mean, then you know who the show is like.
Two KGB agents who are in the US for some years. Got two children. Have to live their whole life under disguise, which living a FBI Agent next door.
They like in some way there life as normal people and they do like in some way the people of America. But in their point of view the US government is evil. They what to build a anti-missile defense system (google Star Wars Bush), which would make the nuclear arsenal of Russia worthless. And they have to do something against that.
Lets see how the show develops. 9/10
First I have to say that sports movies or in this case motor-sports movies are not the genre I usually prefer to watch.
But I gave Rush a chance, because friends told me that the movie is good, and Niki Lauda is an Austrian like me. Of course not the best reasons to watch a movie from a genre you are not into.
And I shouldn't have watched it. For me it was pretty boring, I started to skip some scenes. The acting of Daniel Brühl was really not good - and I hated that Austrian-English-accent. I guess yes, the people in Austria were bad in English at this time - but this accent for about two hours long. Noooooo.
But if you are into Formula 1 racing... I guess you gonna like it. I don't know. 4/10 hearts.
As @pirs already mentioned... I also gonna miss the first generation, but I also gonna miss the whole show as well. The characters were sooo good, many highs and lows, good stories and some lovely developments in the different story lines.
I am sad seeing Skins gone - and it seems like forever. What I don't liked was the last season. It was totally different compared to the other seasons. Most of the time I got bored. Don't get me wrong - the stories were good, and the acting too but it didn't felt right. It felt like a forced end on a movie-based episodes... and that went totally wrong.
I loved it!
I am not the musical guy. I do not like the music, it feels so soft - so mainstream - so "happy everywhere" or "sadness overload".
And I think that musicals should be watched live in a theatre and not in a movie, because the story, songs etc. are written to be watched live. Just like movies should not be performed in theatre.
But I have to admit: Les Misérables was great! The actresses and actors were amazing, the music wonderful. But you have to watch the movie with good headphones - or if u lucky with a good sound system. :o)
The acting of Anne Hathaway was amazing. Big love! Just watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzNVmZfNoa8
The interpretation and renewed songs are perfect. Just Russel Crowe potential of singing was not the best, but it did not bother me at all. One of my favourite scenes / sing parts by the way is this clip. Sorry for the subs there:

So even if you are not into musicals, give recommend to give it a try and you might get surprised and you gonna like it.
9 out of 10 points for this "movie". But if you didn't like the two youtube links I put here - you better won't watch the movie.
Okay.
After I watched this movie about 10 minutes I felt like I already have seen this movie. But I wasn't right.
The US produced the same movie in 2012. And the plot is the same, sometimes the camera positions are the same... it is pretty crazy.
Said that, I suggest you better watch this "version" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGoe7BdGdlg instead of this one.
Because the only reason why you wanna watch this movie is, that you gonna have some nice action scenes in it - and Red Dawn (2012) is much better as this one.
This movie has been in my library for a long time. Unwatched.
I prejudiced this movie too much.
Why? Because I thought, it is a movie about a boy who's getting in trouble, and finds himself on a small rescue boat on the ocean with a tiger. And the tiger. is getting his very best friend, they r gonna survive and: HAPPY END.
A Boy.
A Tiger.
On a boat.
Before watching this movie I thought, okay, this might get REALLY boring. Well I did not got bored at all! There was so much happing all the time.
I do not want to spoiler, but I loved the ending as well. Not the real big Hollywood - Ending where everyone is happy.
Stupid plot. Well, it wasn't.
When you watch this movie, you will get funny scenes (especially in the beginning), and really good actors.
You get stunning pictures and I do not mean the tiger by that. Sure the tiger / animals were GREAT, but I loved the pictures around the boat really much.
Life of Pi was one of the best movies I have seen this year... and it is October right now ;)
8/10
an action movie with a lot of fighting but it was really boring.
Come on guys... no comments on this?
The rating is bad... should I give it a try? Help me out community <3
Fuck me!
One of the BEST MOVIESI have ever seen. Surprisingly!
Some say the show is a little bit like "Grey's Anatomy" in space, others its like "Lost" in space. Well I personally think it isn't anything of this.
If you watch this tv show you get a tv show which is very realistic. No real fancy technical stuff what we all might like about Star Trek, no fighting scenes like in Star Wars. I don't want to spoil anything, but the plot is simple: make a journey through our solar system which really takes a long time and a mystery factor which everything makes more interesting and a starship which isn't that big.
You also get some realationships between the actors.
But there is action in this TV Show. I never get bored watching this and I am a little bit sad that the show got canceled after the first season. There is no big ending, but at least the show got a good last episode with not that big cliffhanger (like in Alcatraz).
I suggest give it a try, watch the pilot and the 2nd episode. If you do not like it after that, don't watch the show. If you do, watch it. It is not a waste of time.
Good. 7/10
I loved this movie when I was a kid. Still love it as an adult now.
Its quite an entertaining movie with a few laughs. Not a waste of time so give it a shot. :)
The movie is pretty old, I know. But I still love it to watch on a Sunday when you are wasted because Saturday night was a hard party night. :D
Hach =)
One of my favorite scenes :D
It really was okay. Check it out.
The story isn't that bad, but I have to admit that there are some boring scenes in it. Some of the stuff rly should have been cut out, and it is a matter of taste if you like that the whole movie is set up as an "documentary"... Internal Ship cameras documenting everything, and all the time of the whole movie is that mission logo .........
-.-
The problem is, that the mid and the ending of this movie is very predictable.
No way that it es a "Masterpiece" in Science Fiction.
It is no real Science Fiction... at least to me.
Do you want to turn off your head in the evening?
Then watch this movie.
I got home from a 3-day-long music festival and it was perfect, watching this movie. NOTHING new in it with many action scenes - but thats a little bit the problem: If you watch a movie with nothing new, and even there are many action scenes in it - but all of that action scenes are like "Hej I 've already seen that" its getting boring.
The plot:
The president is a double, he's evil and our heros have to kill him. And because he's evil he wants the world-domination. And if they don't then the "president" is gonna blow up the world with a super-duper-mega weapon. Just like Brain. From Pinky and Brain
Nice movie. Little bit like Shawn of the dead (which is better ofc), but I like the british humor.
omg. big love for this show.
Some scary scenes, but "harry potter" is still harry potter ^^
funny movie. =)
nice for a friday evening if u don't wanna go out.
First of all: Pompeii felt like a little bit like „Gladiator“ with Russel Crowe, but more than in a bad way.
If you gonna watch this movie, you get good special effects , and a bad story line with some plot holes. You already might know at the beginning of the movie, how it is gonna end - you at least gonna guess the middle „game“ of this Hollywood production.
And I feel a little bit bad for movies which have a bad story. You put millions of millions of Dollar$ into the special effects, production, actors and you put a fast-food story line in it? Why!?
.-/
Paul W.S. Anderson used the special effects too much. In those scenes, where the action is going on, the cuts were not the very best. He want to put so much action in it, that you might get a little bit confused - at least I got a little bit confused during watching.
And since I do not want to spoiler too much: a special scene where a character is dying… come on: You possible can not put more pathetic bullshit in it - can you?
Pompeii or is it spelled Pompeji (?) is getting 6 out of 10 trakt hearts. It is okay to watch this movie, if you want to turn your brain off for ~1.5 hours, but not worth to watch it a second time.
After watching 8 episodes from the first season I have to say, I like it so far.
I am a fan of Dorian, his character is well written and he is really fun to watch.
I hope that this TV show is getting a better development. So far, there is only some case solving, and go to the next case. The duration where the characters are properly introduced should be over, so there is far enough room for a bigger story.
So my hope is that the writers gonna do that. And they have to do that quick. Because even if I like the show, I am really no fan of that "closed" episodes and move on to the next action - based - 45 minutes - solving - case ...
If they don't, I think it will only be a show which I watch next to surfing on my iPad or doing something else - that would be a shame.
Currently I give Almost Human a "fair" rating. 6 out of 10 points with the hope that it will develop for e.g. like Fringe - where it was almost a case-to-case solving in the beginning, but getting into a great story after the first season.
I only watched this movie, because I like Aubrey Plaza so much.
Her character in "Parks and Recreation" is one of my favorites (after Ron Swanson of course^^), and this movie was really fun to watch.
Not the very best, but okay.
