Comforting, Heartwarming. It's that kind of movie.
Really interesting concept, could be better execution wise.
This movie feels like a warm blanket on a cold evening.
A really good and immersive film, the most beautiful I've seen by far.
When I watched Multiverse of Madness I thought it's not that bad, but then I watched Across the Spiderverse... I couldn't be more wrong. This is how you do multiverse period
Ps I'm never not watching on HD again, I don't want to miss on beautiful visuals like this.
It was underwhelming, not cohesive, and feels incomplete without the humor of Rocket Raccoon. But at its core it's still a Guardians movie and an excellent send-off for an excellent trilogy.
Well, well, well if it isn't Whiplash's evil sister.
It was good and all but I can only take so much lies. It would have been great if only it was more accurate but other than that it was fine especially Keira Knightley. I did not like her on the Pirates movies but she was excellent on this one.
To get real deep one must get real high.
That's what I think the movie Chronicle did right among many things.
It got you real connected with the characters making you understand them, sympathize and be one with them. It doesn't simply show you a group of friends that you will follow the whole film, you are part of the group. That is how immersive the experience was: When they're laughing you're laughing with them, in their moment of weakness it felt like you're part of the group, sharing the moment with them and when everything went out of control it felt like you were involved, truly scared for your life.
It felt so real that the moment it all fell apart it was very emotional. It felt like Andrew was your actual friend, and this friend is doing something wrong yet as his friend you know you can't blame him after all he's been through, you know it's his pain that's gotten the better of him, and yet you know you still have to stop him. You feel all this the whole time that the moment the spear struck him it felt like you actually killed a friend (not that I know what that feels like but you know what I mean).
It was very painful, ergo, very masterfully done.
In addition to that, the use of the First Person Perspective also amplified the intimacy as much as the cast amplified the experience. I'd say it's a masterpiece of a film and if you're okay with taking advice from a random person from the internet then to you I say - Watch it.
This one's not for me. I get that they are trying to do a different approach with this major change on the narrative, but it just doesn't work. The main appeal of the novel The Little Prince is the Little Prince and removing him as the central mover of the story takes away from the charm. Plus, the addition of that world the little girl is living in eliminates the atmosphere that the novel had, making it different and different does not always equate to being good.
However, I want to commend one thing, the animation. The animation they used for the real life scenes was really horrible and I hated it so much. But the animation they used for the stories is simply majestic. If they stayed true to the source material and used this animation for all scenes, then it would have been such a delightful watch.
Vice is a 2018 American horror-comedy film directed, written, and co-produced by Adam McKay and starring Christian Bale as former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney. Though, I didn't really find it hilarious till the end when everything starts going wrong for the Cheney family, I just wished they suffered much more, especially, Dick Cheney but what can you do?
The film is good overall, Christian Bale really did a good job portraying the devil, the supporting actors are splendid as well and the editing is a little weird but okay.
Though the main takeaway for me is that this movie shows how scary it is to give a dreadful person a grasp at power, even scarier to have an ignorant president to let this happen, and the scariest is how all this ultimately roots from the collective decision of the masses.
Is it just me or is this really a satire on fate?
The way they kept bringing up that topic makes it feel absurd and even comedic at times. But it is even most evident during the ending when the elder said that everything was fated to happen but then got beat the shit out of him and would have just dropped dead if not for some plastic bottle. And the White Death? He planned everything only for it to be ruined by a stomach problem. So yeah I think it was a diss on destiny until I thought that you can also use that argument for the other side, like those silly coincidences happened because fate needed it to happen. Yeah, I don't really know. I'm just spouting nonsense here. The only thing I know is that it's a good casual fun action adventure movie and I'll leave it at that.
It was a good watch, it's interesting but that's about it.
I'm familiar with these kind of movies the likes of Enemy, Nocturnal Animals, and Donnie Darko. The thing is these movies immerses you into a bizarre world and it's really hard to make sense of anything and that's the drawback. The message is hidden in a subtle way for you to decipher, you need time to understand, you need time to research. It is bad because it is mentally demanding but that is also what makes it beautiful.
