My current favorite episode! :100:
In my opinion, this episode of the TV show is one of the best so far. The episode features an exceptional performance by Kelly Riley, who delivers an outstanding portrayal of her character.
Riley's acting skills are top-notch as she effortlessly portrays the emotions of her character with remarkable precision. Her ability to express complex emotions through her facial expressions and body language is truly impressive and adds depth to the show's storyline.
Overall, this episode has raised the bar for the show, and Kelly Riley's exceptional performance has left a lasting impression on me.
Outstanding episode. Props to Kelly Reilly. I wonder what fate awaits the Beck bros.
Idk what evil power compelled me to waste my time with this. Not scary, not interesting, just disgusting.
Fantastic concept squandered.
Would be immensely more bearable had it been 30 minutes shorter.
One of the most boring movie I have ever watched. Definitely not worth a second watch
The scene after the credits setting up the next season just ruins everything.
Fuck Janice. Out of all the characters, she was the only psychopath.
This movie started out interesting but it seemed to break down with multiple plots that didn't really make sense after awhile. It was hard to take the main plot seriously enough to suspend disbelief. I stuck it out, but came away disappointed.
A unique film, with incredible cinematography, great performances and an engaging plot, even though it felt dragged out.
Gal Gadot at her most beautiful and best. I didn’t know what to expect but as the credits rolled I was smiling. It was loaded with the things I like in an action movie AND it had heart, plus it had a surprising twist at the beginning. Great cast. Unexpected cameo(s). Loved the international venues. I follow both Gal Gadot’s and Jamie Dorian’s work and I was far from disappointed. This really should have had a theatrical release before it was consigned to streaming because I’m sure it would have been spectacular on a big screen but my little 46” TV subbed in rather well. I give this film a high 8 (great fun) out of 10. [Action, Adventure, Drama, Thriller]
nothing groundbreaking by any means but I had fun tbh! it was just an entertaining summer popcorn movie. there's some entertaining stunts/fight sequences and I will now be bumping up movies a half star if they feature a cute cat who doesn't get hurt
Only disappointing that this version is 9 episodes. 42 minutes each. I think the original was 4 episodes, 2 hrs each.
Anyway, I like that they changed the pacing. So it doesn’t feel like you’re watching the 1994 one all over again.
Owen Teague (IT) is the best casting so far. Since he makes a creepier Harold. Which fits in a Stephen King atmosphere.
Odessa Young makes for a more vulnerable and flawed Frannie so far as well. Whoopi Goldberg is as Whoopi as you’d expect as Abagail though. Meaning she stands out more than anyone else due to her popularity.
Too much time is skipped in the end as well. Confusing to why they would do that. They put scenes that should be in the beginning on the end. While also skipping to scenes that should be in later episodes.
I liked the Bladerunner vibe of this movie. An enjoyable sci-fi mystery.
01x07 - The Storm: 8/10 (Great)
The ending left me speechless, but it turns out that some of my theories were correct, especially that the whole thing was a giant time loop. If you had told me this was the season finale halfway through the episode, I would have believed it, but knowing there is one more episode remaining, I can’t help but wonder what else is in store. Given that this is all just a simulation, it’s difficult to feel too sad about the deaths, primarily because we have no idea what “death” means here. It’s not as sophisticated as “Dark,” and it appears to be much more up-front with the mystery. Nevertheless, it’s only the first season, and I haven’t even made it to the finale yet, so maybe it’s too soon to say anything definitive. Strong set-up for the season finale; looking forward to it.
The original was much better
Bode is just annoying at this point. He's the reason the family is getting in trouble 90% of the time...
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Nope’:
I kept waiting, and waiting, for this film to get good. For the moment when things kick into high gear and it earns that price of admission. For me, it never got there. It always teetered on the edge of something fun and edge-of-your-seat… but it remained uneventful despite its seemingly-momentous scenes.
The pacing was all sorts of wonky. It felt like there were a lot of disconnects here, a lot of questions. Scenes that went on too long. Unrealistic character reactions and decisions. My scalp is sore from all the head scratching. I just wish this were a more structured story with all the ideas it contained.
Great cast, but the character of OJ was incredibly bland and emotionally flat. A more compelling lead character may have risen this film above all its flaws.
Bonus Thought: What was the significance of the mysterious balancing shoe?
This was surprisingly good... Had low expectations
Too much Landon and Hope problems, seems to be all the time. I was really hoping that was NOT going to be Landon behind the mask .
On no another episode about Landon. The most useless character ever.
The ending as anticlimactic as the book
My first horror movie ever, introduced by my older sister. So for the first one, it wasn't bad at all.
honestly not that bad for a netflix horror. with each movie in this genre though the concept gets a little less scary - and then i remember the real life versions of events like these and want to live in a panic room for the rest of my life. so it's pretty evergreen in that regard.
also, once you've watched the movie, look up the kathy rowe case - thats what the true events card at the beginning is referring to. but THEN, also look up the otto sanhuber case. this movie combines both of those - and pretty well, tbh.
Mary Elizabeth Winsted should be in an Alien franchise. Strong Ellen Ripley vibes in Kate.
Short and efficiently done, this action flick is nothing new, but what it does, it does in a competent manner.
Gave up on kleenex half way through let it run baby! Loved every minute, wish it didn't have to end!
Fantastic closing montage. Wow. Lots of memories there.
This was a most excellent episode.
"What'd he say?" Dean
"Leave. Get out. We didn't bond. " (cass humor the best).
