Kudos to Kieran Culkin for making Roman so despicable and endlessly punchable in this episode.
“God, it makes me rage how efficient things are when you’re a dick to people.” SO TRUE, Eve.
“You’re an addendum of miscellaneous matters in pencil… with a question mark.”
“Nevertheless!”
Dear Greg, always clinging to hope.
"What in the name of Kevin Spacey’s self-made Christmas Eve video message to try to get back on House of Cards is going on here?" A+ line.
Terry, on not doing cardio in 20 years: "How hard could it be?" Then after beginning to run: "It’s immediately awful!" SO relatable!
Someone please just play D&D with Will. I feel so bad for the kid!
Whoever cast the Richardson kids did an excellent job; the young actors look like they could be related as well as the spawn of Reese Witherspoon and Joshua Jackson.
I really wanted to punch Kevin in the face when he was so smug about Zoe's interactions with Tess and Annie. Being an aunt is not the same thing as being a mother. Some people just do not want to have children and that's perfectly fine.
Top-notch episode between the storylines firing on all cylinders and the ending emotional kicker.
It's about damn time the viewers got to see Miguel's story! It really shouldn't have taken so long to get this episode, which is easily the best of the final season so far.
I cherish the tentative friendship between Sunny and the Hook-Handed Man.
"There’s nothing more intoxicating than the clear absence of a penis." Braugher is king.
Wow, the middle school versions of The Big Three have grown up SO MUCH since the show started.
"Shut your face, you half-melted ten-cent trollop." Alice Cooper, delivering a searing burn!
I have not missed Gina one bit this season. She lifts out surprisingly easily and her absence allows for more streamlined storytelling.
Someone please explain to me how Fanning and Hoult are not raking in the awards for their marvelous performances. I really enjoyed this season, especially the strong second half.
This episode was very much needed and gave a lot more depth to Mia and Elena through a peek into their pasts. AnnaSophia Robb made a terrific young Elena; why isn't she a bigger star?
"Why would you ever intentionally spill beans? They’re one of nature’s most densely packed protein sources and they remain unsullied by flavor." Can Andre Braugher win an Emmy for this role already?
Wow, that aide storyline did not work for me at all. Melissa was not wrong to expect Ashley to be helpful and not distracting to her students. I also didn't love Ava laughing about Jacob's mode of transportation being stolen in the cold open; the show walks such a fine line with that character and this was on the wrong side of it.
PERFECTION. I am going to miss these characters so much.
Kim has become the Jesse Pinkman of this show for me: I very badly want to see her escape everything unscathed, but fear the worst.
Such a treat to actually see a full episode of the show within the show!
"People aren't either wicked or noble. They're like chef's salads, with good things and bad things chopped and mixed together in a vinaigrette of confusion and conflict." Love this quote, which is straight from the books and nicely sums up a main theme of the series.
This show has a Jughead problem; he was one of the best parts of season one, but is currently insufferable.
Conrad probably wouldn't be so sad and moody all the time if he was just completely honest about his feelings instead of suppressing them and acting like a dick. The boy's got a lot of growing up to do.
Cute and festive! This serves as a proper send-off for an abruptly cancelled show and I relished getting more time to spend with these lovely individuals and voices. Mo's storyline could have dovetailed better with the Clarke family plot, but I really liked how the movie utilized Max's newfound abilities from the series finale. I wouldn't mind an occasional film to check in with these characters; if Psych can pull it off, why not this show?
Great book, great adaptation. Not all of the changes from the source material were necessary, but some worked quite well. I hope that this remains a miniseries and doesn't follow the Big Little Lies model by making a second season that ends up being a disappointing mistake.
"I've been baking pies at home. Pies of RAGE!" That was an epic match and game-changing finale.
How many takes did Robert Buckley have to do to get those scenes of Major on wrestler brain just right? They were HILARIOUS. Between this and the teen girl one, we need more of Major on goofy brain personalities since Buckley more than brings it when he gets to show off his comedic side.
Heartbreaking, powerful episode and the highlight of the season so far. I've never thought much of Finn Wittrock as an actor before, but he brought his A game here.
